Hotel Paseo Habana: Fifth time here

I come here for the fifth time or so. Good: breakfast improved - last year was bad and small; internet - last summer there wasn't. Safe box - last year didn't work. Bad : sink clogged, asked for repair, nobody cared.

Melia Habana: Great hotel!

The pool is the best in all Havana. Great food. Clean room. Nice entertainment. Far from the city but there is the free shuttle to Old Havana several times per day. In bar beer: $3, any cocktail: $6 in bar, pizza $10+.

Hotel Paseo Habana: Clean, low key and relaxing

I thought the location was excellent, the hotel breakfast good and dinner was very good and reasonable. Lots of hot water at any time of day or night. Each room had a working air conditioner, comfortable beds and it was quiet. The artwork in the Hotel was beautiful and the feel of the hotel was elegant and charming. Hotel Paseo Habana: Dirty , bad , and dysfunctional .

Dysfunctional ! Bad and very very expensive , for noting !! Price plus , plus, plus 5 x more then we plan . Wy we can not put pictures from that dirty house .?It is not hotel .Door , tables in restaurant never washed .Very offten no power , no water , no iron , no heirdryer

Hotel Paseo Habana: Modest and worn

This place would be better if the staff tried to please but that's not the case. The facilities are clean but run down. The elevator was under repair four times in our short stay; the bedside lamp in the room was broken yet despite repeated requests, never replaced. The beds are hard and room sparse. On the plus side, the air con works well, the maids do a great job, the location is decent and for the price it's serviceable.

Hotel Deauville: Nice location

Very convenient for the location, close to Habana Vieja. But the elevator is very often out of service. It happened maybe 10 times for a few hours during our stay (of 7 days). Not so funny when your room is at the 12th floor :-(

Hotel Atlantico: Would Have Been Nice without the Plumbing Problems

Great location on one of the nicest beaches in Cuba. Easy access to old Havana by plentiful, eager and helpful taxi drivers, or public bus service. Fantastic buffet meals with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, chicken and fish cooked in front of you. Clean rooms, friendly staff, but NO plumbing or bathroom facilities for 2 days! Disgusting!! Pool turned green one afternoon.

Hotel Deauville: Hotel is no 3 star !!

Building is old, poor plumbing! No hot water in shower, even though hot water aplenty in sink right next to it. Low cold water pressure in sink and toilet, as result, toilet didn't flush properly Included breakfast buffet is good, but other meals in restaurant suspect .. wife got sick after first supper at hotel.

Club Acuario: Beautiful Resort

The resort was very nice however I found that the service was not the best. The bar was constantly out of alcohol, limited drinks to choose from and very slow service. The food was not bad, everyone knows you don't go to cuba for the food. The rooms did not get cleaned very well they would make the bed and that's about it. The staff seemed kind of cold towards the tourists but I had a good trip. I would recommend it however they do need to fix up there bar service and customer service.

Comodoro: Not a wow experience

There were some good things but overall the experience was not good. Terrible customer service, It took over 3 days to have major room issues like lack of toiletries etc to be resolved by having to speak with the manager. Breakfast buffet was ok on some days but nothing to write home about. Cashiers were fine but receptionists require more training on how to deal with clients. Swimming pool was in bad condition. The hotel has potential of being a great resort location but a lot of work is needed [... read more] to bring it to a 5 starred hotel.

Saint John's Vedado: Amazing value for money STILL

The location is amongst the best in Havana. Within a five walking distance of great restaurants, two banks, Malecon. Hotel breakfast is incredible. More like a supper buffet with eggs thrown in. Meats included ribs, liver, chicken and five to ten kinds of smoked meats. Lots of fruit and vegetables. A huge round of cheese and then multiple types of others. Breads that taste like breads in different grains and styles. Cuba really has come a long way in food selection over 25 years. Many jams and s [... read more]preads and five types of desserts. Yesterday, in addition to the five prepared yogurts in large containers, they had little Canadian style sealed packets of yogurt with no fat content. Air conditioners worked, there was always a working elevator. The swimming pool at the Hotel Vedado was a two minute walk and generally empty. You have to use Hotel Vedado for swimming and internet and breakfast. The only issues there? Blaring entertainment / music / noise. Cuban hotels, as a generalization, have too many staff loitering around. Like there might be one person in / at the pool ME, yet the music would be blaring and the staff would be hanging around shouting at each other. Same as the lobby, the band would start up and you could watch the customers stream out. There will be tens of thousands of unemployed musicians and security staff if Cuban hotels move to North American standards.

Hotel Plaza: Great lobby and location, awful room

Alright I'll keep this one short. The lobby and location are terrific, hand crafted moldings and etc, and staff was generally friendly. Location is terrific, except a building under renovation next door. It's right across from Capitol building. The rooms were awful. Plain and marks on walls, pretty much hostel, except the beds seemed worse. At least it seemed clean. The insulation was awful, couldn't sleep all night bc of noises outside(ppl yelling singing etc). Hotel Plaza: Pleasant at first, jaws dropped at room

Went to Cuba beginning of April for cigars mostly ( Cancun airport has NO IN-TRANSIT FACILITY, and I was fully loaded with cigars. Aside from waiting for an hour to exit customs, I was pulled aside for bag search and questioning and feeling extremely anxious until let go, phew. But they didn't seem to have a standard procedure for this and didn't know what to do) I was very prepared for Cuba being extremely third world, but upon arriving at the airport and getting out, I was pleasantly surprised [... read more] (it really felt like China from the airport to the city, then the driver told us China built those infrastructure, and we were like....no ****. The hotel was very very centrally located, right across from the park that's in front of the Capitol and theatre building, which were like the best looking buildings there. The hotel lobby was extremely nice when we arrived, the mouldings were stunning. We thought the hotel was maybe better than we thought, and raised our expecation to maybe a 3 star hotel North American standard from the previous 2 star. Well the room was really....1 star. It was sooooo plain, even a random highway motel in Canada is better than that plain, at least we'd have thick paint to cover up marks or wall paper for most of them. Unfortunately they had plain white wall with marks and two single bed that was....well let's say a fragile looking cheap metal frame. I wonder where they got the 4 star rating from???? But hey, it's at least clean and livable. Until....at night, we were there on a Saturday, and yes there was a construction/renovation site next door but they only started banging at around 7 AM I think. But there were people outside all night singing or yelling some stuff and the insolation is AWFUL! I could hear everything... For those of you who want to know how to live a hot Cuban night? They do have a window air con that works, but I left it off b/c it was actually cooler than Cancun. Bye Hotel Plaza. My advice, stay in Varadaros and hire a driver to take you to Havana, you have no idea how much cab fare we ended up spending ($4-5 per trip , but soooo many wrong destinations b/c they dont' speak English or have no idea where you wanna go)

Villa Bacuranao: everything I look for in a resort

beach--water--placid and calm--scenery--exceptional;food--great(as per my tastes);staff--first class;everything--marvellous--it was NOT All inclusive, but the drinks were --1 peso for a beer, bottled water--no big concern--Ivan , the cab driver, is superb

1st room did not work - A/C & Toilet, moved to another room you could see the gravel as the tile floor was so bad. Cubans swam hotel, workers from havana not even staying at hotel eat all the food - Avoid

Club Acuario: Check your vacation package promise

2 weeks experience in February 2016 Transfer from Varadero to Hotel : 4 hours 25 ' Bus goes first to all hotels. Location good but without beach Pool excellent and well maintained. Food above average in variety and presentation. Shuttle to Habana discontinued last year. Replaced by 2 different bus, never interconnected and taking at least 2 hours for each trip (return). For internet card and money exchange, you need to go to Habana (long lines) Men's washroom for the lobby, 2 bars and the pool : [... read more] NO water, soap or paper (a serious heath hazard). For months, photos taken to prove it. Bar drinks free, but for rum and cola I had to buy bottle cola. The mix machine was broken and many times the "gas water " with similar answer. 'Room clean and average but with sewer smell from ancient plumbing. Personnel very friendly and helpful but unable to improve or change anything Typical answer always : THIS IS CUBA

Islazul Colina Hotel: You get what you pay

Great downtown location, Close to everything, Staff was nice. Didn't like the room and one day had no hot water, but we didn't spend time in the room at all. We came to explore Havana and surrounding areas. Wasn't disappointed, everything was pretty much expected.

Club Acuario: Half the place looks like a ghost hotel..

I've been to a few resorts in Cuba - and my expectations are not high - however, this place gave me no reason to return. For the first couple days there was no mix for our drinks...the buffet very limited, and not a whole lot to do (unless you just want to lounge around the pool). I recommend taking the free bus out of there.....

Hotel Atlantico: Great location, ok hotel

The staff was very pleasant at this hotel. Service was good. Food was ok. The hotel shows its age and is in need of some TLC, but it was clean. The location was awesome, beach right there and Havana 20 minutes away. We loved the free shuttle, you just need to make sure you reserve it in advance.

Hotel Atlantico: Good place

A comfortable place, I had no problems. The staff was always pleasant. Rooms were large enough. TV had channels like BBC CCTV DW, surprisingly. The only negative I can think of would be that the beach was not as clean as others I have seen in Cuba.
