Horrible resort

The hotel looks beautiful. But it ends there. The food is horrible. I was sick for 5 days while there and there were a number of other visitors who were also ill. If you want alcohol in your drink you have to ASK for it! If you order a daiquiri and don't say with alcohol you will receive virgin drinks! First resort I have ever been to where this is their policy!

Best Resort Yet!

This was our first trip to Punta Cana and the Dominican Republic. We were pleasantly surprised by our hotel, the Luxury Bahia Principe Esmeralda. Our room was clean and spacious, the food was excellent, and we were very close to the beautiful, sandy beach. We walked for hours on the beach every day, and joined in some of the recreational activities, particularly, yoga and water exercises.

Super experience

Stayed at the Luxury Bahia Principe Esmeralda for 7 days Dec. 1-8, 2016. A beautiful resort, with great grounds and marvelous staff. The restaurants were excellent from the buffets to Bella Italia, top rated food and all servers were so eager to please. Travelled with 2 women who have mobility issues and the staff were very accommodating, Manuel is of special note, he would drop us off right at the door to the restaurant and instruct the hostess to call him when we were finished so he could p [... read more]ick us up at the restaurant rather than us walking to the lobby. Very appreciated. Beach was lovely and kept very well groomed, as were all the grounds. A very beautiful resort in great repair and clean. Would return and highly recommend.

Luxury Bahia Principe Esmeralda

It was everything that we were looking for: awesome beach ( close by), nice comfy room, good food and excellent service. The resort is super clean and well organized, it made for a nice little holiday and we will definitely be going back. cheers....

Fantastic !

Just got back from Luxury Bahia Principe Esmeralda, gorgeous hotel , had the 3rd floor corner room facing the pool and a view of the ocean, very clean , excellent room service, the grounds are immaculate, people great ! There are plenty of restaurants to book , but we really liked the buffet style since there are so many choices , each night they had a theme ( American , Mexican , Italian , Dominican, Asian, etc... ) lobster, shrimp, fish, chicken, beef, you name it they had it , and every da [... read more]y was "paella" time on the beach........We had great weather, smooth flight , the airport people were great, breezed thru customs and check in was 10 min. Best resort so far

Stayed at the Luxury Esmerelda and loved it!! The beach was beautiful! We went out every morning at 6 a.m. to watch the sunrise and every morning the beach had already been raked up of any debris! We walked along the beach both ways and not one resort was even close to as well maintained as our resort. Although the water was a little rough that week the water was clear and warm! We had waiter service on the beach and a waiter came around with sandwiches and pop as well. There was a snack bar [... read more] very close to the beach that was open form breakfast to just before dinner. We chose a different A'la carte dinner every night which gave us lots of variety and all were delicious although our favorite was defiantly the Don Pablo. Our room was beautiful, large and had a great view. There were lots of extras we didn't use like the butler service, bell boys, scented pillows, and room service but they were available. The maids did a great job and although its not something I require there were little extra touches like flower petals on the bed or in the bathroom each day. The fridge being restocked daily was nice as well. Premium drinks at the bar was a big deal for us as well. I am also not one for the shows at night but here was cirque like show and a Michael Jackson show (which I usually find so tacky) that were both amazing. I think the only thing I would recommend because there are quite a few resorts all in one is for there to be something maybe in the Esmerelda lobby maybe a TV or something that shows what is going on in each resort in the evening!! We had a beach party the first night that was amazing and had we not stumbled upon it we would not have known. This is a small resort with access to several other resorts so you have the best of both worlds. Only Luxury resort patrons can use the Luxury resort facilities so its nice quiet and not to hard to get a seat at the pool or the beach but because you have access to the other resorts lots of shopping restaurants and the disco This was our 3rd time to the DR and this was by far our best vacation!!! I'm not one to return to the same place twice but I think we may with this one

Fantastic resort

This resort is fantastic. Everything was great:ground,room,food and especially the service. Everyone works very hard and they very professional. We had amazing time in Esmeralda. Love this resort!!!! We really recommend this resort. This resort has everything what you need. If you go ther you will live in paradise

Excellent resort

The hotel was very good. Dining room and A la Carte food was good as well, lot of variety and both red and white wines. Wi-fi was available 24 hours. The beach truly beautiful and had good facilities. The hotel staff was very friendly and always helpful. The room was always kept clean.

5star all the way

This is a great hotel. The service was great, the food very good and most importantly the beach to die for. You won't regret choosing this hotel. The grounds are well manicured. A choice of two large pools, one having a swim up bar and the other on the quiet side. Enjoy!

Loved the staff!

The Esmeralda is a beautiful and well kept resort. We did have to wait until the 3pm checking to get our room. Not a problem. However the room wasn't really ready. The staff kept having to knock on the door to drop off towels or things for the bar fridge. Our room was to be decorated and have a welcome gift as it was a special occasion and the staff did that as we sat in our room and watched them. Aside from that, both the Italian and Brazilian restaurants were amazing! Excellent food and serv [... read more]ice from one of our favorite staff, Christian. We ventured out to both French restaurants and were surprised that not only were they very close to each other, but had exactly the same menu. Couldn't see the point of that and wouldn't have booked both reatuarants if we had known. Lots of shops at the other resorts for souvenirs. The pool and beach areas were beautiful and clean. We did use the complimentary Butler service and we were so pleased that we did. Anastasio Antonio was absolutely wonderful. Charming, funny, endearing and efficient. I would recommend this hotel.

Beautiful resort

The grounds, rooms and everywhere else was clean and staff was friendly, but I (we) had a problem with seating around the pool and ocean. People were just leaving their stuff on the chairs by the pool early in the morning and going to the beach and then coming back to the pool after lunch or later, so going to the pool or beach we could never get any place to sit, we even had an occasion where there was altercation with some other guests who had one floater on one chair under an umbrella so we d [... read more]ecided to take the available chairs and went in the pool and when they came back they took all our stuff and threw them away in the shrubs, so it took us about ten minutes to look for our stuff, also I got sick from the Tuesday so for the last four days I had to live on medication and my daughter got sick on the last day, I think for such a big resort people should not get sick, the food was good but everything had so much salt, will never come back to the Esmeralda.

Beautiful resort!!

Everyone (the staff) were so friendly!! Like they were waiting on you no matter what time of the day was. There was so much entertainment that time flies by. Beautiful well kept landscape and resort. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a getaway!

Great resort!

Very clean, rooms are well kept and food was amazing. Will totally recommend to families with small children. The hotel is close to the airport which is very convenient. The water park is great for young children. It was easy to make reservations for the a la carte restaurants and food was really good. Loved the entertainment especially for children. There was always beach chairs available.

Luxury Bahia Principe Esmeralda Great Vacation!

The resort grounds are beautiful. The staff is friendly. The beach area was extremely beautiful and clean. The food selection was great at all locations. The waiters made you laugh and made you feel special.

The hotel rooms were perfectly clean. The service was great. Friendly staff, specifically the waiters at the buffet restaurants. The food was great and a great selection daily. The beach area was impeccable and clean.

Both staff and guests were mostly Spanish speaking so we didn't socialize with many people during our stay. The food and drink was plentiful, but the islands have a very different flavour to everything.
