Amazing place

This is our second trip to this location. Our first time was in 2013 and it was so amazing after all the bad things you hear about Cuba. We decided to take another trip and visit the same resort. To our surprise it was just as nice as it was 6 years ago with some of the same faces. The employees are amazing and always happy to serve you. I’ve recommended this spot and will continue to recommend it to anyone. The beach was beautiful with white sand and crystal clear ocean..

Great resort

Excellent beach great drinks could use a bit of tlc but it’s 🇨🇺 all and all a good trip. Pool was nice beach quiet. If it is not to expensive get the upgrade to private beach forget what they call. Had oceanfront room excellent. The market was disappointing

Beach paradise

After our 3rd visit to Memories Flemenco we can’t deny that our main draw was the beach. It did not disappoint and neither did the staff working along the beach. The front desk and bell men. We’re Always attentive and helpful and courteous. Unfortunately the resort itself is looking a little worn...rooms/beds were in need of upgrading and the plumbing was an issue in our first room. We do not go to Cuba for the food and we are very easy to please but this time coupled with how busy the r [... read more]esort was, the buffet staff and snack bar staff were less attentive and took to long to serve us. The food options for this resort need to be improved to make it a 4.5 star. One buffet just isn’t enough and it was hard to find viable food options. Also, we only booked for 5 days and were only able to secure one reservation for 8:30 on our last nite. That was too late disappointing. Overall, we came for the beach and the sun which did not disappoint but had we gone at a less busy time it may have been a better experience. The personal touch from some staff just didn’t shine through the way we have come to remember this resort. Will maybe go back in a few years if the reviews improve.

Fantastic vacation!

Nice clean resort, staff are wonderful. Any issues were resolved quickly. Best beach I have ever seen. Food was good, Diamond club was a great option. We are already considering a return next year. Great recommendation by Marnie at TripCentral.

Friendly resort

The beach is extraordinary. Clean with many lounge chairs and shade. Friendly service with a smile. Fresh fish, chicken, beef and pork grilled to your liking. Healthy salad bar options. Custom pasta, omelet, fried rice, smoothie and icecream stations. You are on holidays...be patient, smile and breath. Cappuccinos with natural sugar cane stick were a nice treat at the lobby bar. A true escape

Beautiful property and location. Outstanding people that work there. Great vibe. Food was so-so, but the huge selection allowed everyone to find something they would like. The lobby and lobby bar were a great central hub to the resort. Beach is unbelievable.... Literally...... When you see it, you have a hard time believing that you're there.... Something many only see in pictures. Will definitely return.

Amazing!

It was a beautiful resort with friendly staff. Much attention to detail. The beach was simply heavenly. The food was good. We ate at 3 a la carte restaurnats and were not disappointed. We enjoyed talented entertainment every night. We will be back!

Horrible resort now

it was not a 4 plus star rating hotel in the least.if you wanted a chair by the pool in the mornings you had to find a pool guy to get you a chair as it seem to me they had them stock piled some where and you had to tip them for getting you a chair.the line-ups at the buffet were 45 minutes or longer the choose was the same every night. the al-crates we had 3 of them 2 were the same because they said the others were all full by the time i booked them. i booked the ala-crates the wednesday when w [... read more]e arrived on the tuesday.

Beautiful Beach

The beach was beautiful. Rooms acceptable. Typical buffet food for Cuba, edible but nothing to write home about. The a la cartes were surprising good (Asian, Mediterranean, Italian). The pools were not very clean, but I didn't spend much too much time at them. Most staff were generally friendly and helpful. Learn the system for chairs at the beach and pool and you'll have an enjoyable experience. Would not recommend this resort

This was my first time in Cuba, I have travelled to many other countries and not all were all inclusive. I went with an open mind given what I had heard about Cuba. First thing is our dollar....it cost us 1.34 Canadian for one Cuban paso which I thought was outrageous. Remember they have two paso’s one for tourists and one for the locals. The bartenders were great as long as you gave them a tip, I don’t mind tipping but I’m not about to tip every time I want a drink especially w [... read more]hen they only fill a small plastic cup three quarters. Pool pirates was the name I gave the guys around the pool. In the evenings they would remove at least half the chairs. When people showed up in the mornings looking for chairs these guys would ask how many chairs they needed. They would go get them from wherever they hide them they expected a tip for providing chairs. In all my travels I have never seen this behaviour before. Pool entertainment was good but they repeated the same activities everyday. Evening entertainment was OK.... Beach was great, sand was absolutely gorgeous and the water was very clear. Beach towels....you were given a towel when you checked in, most towels looked like they had seen better days. The hut where you were to go to exchange your towels was never opened if you asked someone if you could get clean towels they would direct you to the hut when you tried to explain that it’s never opened they simple said sorry can’t help you. Most people brought their own knowing this was an issue at this resort. I don’t expect a clean towel every day however every third day would have been nice, I ended up buying a beach towel for $20.00 paso which is a lot more then you would pay even in Canada. The toilets around the resort were horrendous they never seemed to have toilet paper and they stunk really bad. People once again said they have learned to bring their own toilet paper, I choose to go to go to my room. The route however took me past these three cubans that were handing out hand made grasshoppers and hats, gave a couple of paso’s the first couple of days but after that it got very annoying. On guy wanted to exchange three Canadian dollars for three paso’s I said I would give them two based on the exchange rate he gave me a nasty look and walked away. The food was decent however it was the same thing every day, the grills that grilled fresh fish, pork chops and beef were always lined up at times you could wait up to half hour. A la carts...our first one we went to was terrible we ended up going to the buffet afterwards. Second one just as bad and once again we went to the buffet. The rooms are old and could use some work we had dirty towels in our room on the first day, I complained and after that the room was cleaned. I left five paso’s and expensive candies everyday for the maid. They work from morning to late afternoon and the work is back breaking which is why I left the money. Most people tip bartenders and waiters but not the maids. I usually leave two to three paso’s for the servers at the buffet, as well I did tip the bartenders but not every drink. In all I think I spent about 160.00 Canadian over the week in tips and the purchase of the towel. My brother has been to Cuba thirteen times over the years, he thought this resort was a big disappointment. I was the one who recommended this resort based on the star rating and recommendation from trip central. You pay more based on the star rating and this resort in not a 4.5. I certainly will not go back to this resort but may look at other area’s within Cuba to visit if their paso improves.

Amazing time!!

It was a beautiful trip all around. The hotels were nicely cleaned everyday. The ac worked perfectly. Very cozy rooms, big balconies. The food was way better then I expected. The staff were so friendly and awesome, Especially the entertainment staff. Pools were beautiful and the beach was the best!! The sand and the water was to die for .. For my first ever trip to Cuba I enjoyed it so so much. Was very sad to leave .. will hopefully return in the future ! Not Bad

We stayed for 7 days recently and I would say that the beach is amazing! Food was quite good and the food service staff were very good always. I think there might be issues at the front desk or maybe its just a one off situation but I found the customer service there poor on several occasions. The grounds are well maintained and the lobby bar is a great place to grab a nice drink or coffee and hang out. If you get booked into building 8 be warned its Not great and the house keeping i [... read more]s poor for some reason. We were booked into building 8 and our room was very rough with stains on the bedding, couch, walls and curtains. Expect lots....and lots of mosquitos also. Luckily we were able to.change rooms and buildings within 24 hours and the room was clean and had way less even minimal mosquitos. The entertainment staff were always on point and very professional. Its a half decent resort for families and couples. The beach area had lots of seating avaliable however you still may want to get there earlier to get a seat if its busy.

NICE RESORT

We just returned from Memories Flamenco 5 March 2019. We had a pretty amazing time at this resort. The beach, the grounds, the pool, the entertainment, and the majority of the staff are amazing. The Diamond Club purchase worked out perfect for us, we enjoyed the separate area on the beach, and the beach beds as well as the waiter service on the beach (which wasn't always a given). There was fishy stuff served too - but I was not interested in that. We made this our biggest meal as the dinners were not always that good. The food in the buffet was not our favourite and it was smokey and hot and smelled gross, we thought, others loved it, others liked it. We ate at the Diamond Club restaurant every day for breakfast, did our lunch on the beach and then did the dinners at the restaurants at night. We didn't get into the Italian one - and the only one we really like was the Asian - it was quite good. The rest - OK. The little café makes some hamburgs and hotdogs and fries, which we didnt eat - but the pizza they made - was pretty good. I also believe you can visit the other Memories resort - just down the beach - for what I am not sure - mybe just drinks. We will do that next time. There is a sports bar there, that we didn't go in - but I think they may serve food as well. The Diamond Club Ocean View Junior Suite was pretty awesome, in building one. It was a perfect location, I found the beds quite comfy, we had lots of hot water and the air conditioning worked great. The bathroom was a little rough, but served its purpose. We were a little iffy on the black mold that we discovered on the buckled wall in the bathroom, and then later around the air conditioner, on the grills of it, and then on the fan type thing that was outside of the bathroom. Very humid there, so I guess kind of a hard thing to avoid - but we felt it unhealthy, and not preferred. The service at the Diamond Club check in desk is superb, they gave us everything we asked for. Others were not so pleased - but we showed up every morning with a smile - and made our list of things. I forget my favourite's name - but I think it is Ilyana - or something like that - she is awesome. Bring whitener for your coffee for the room - there is none - or we grabbed cream from the bar. Some of the girls at the other check in counter can be a bit snarky - and we thought that was unfitting and unprofessional. If you are looking for an excursion, without being stuck in the bus all day - and a better deal - contact the taxi driver Raulitos (ask at the diamond club check in desk if you cannot find him - he drives a nice air conditioned yellow cab). He is the young Raulitos, who is handsome, speaks perfect English, is vey knowledgeable and will take you wherever you want to go, for a fair price. You can come and go as you please then, and travel on your time - not the tour bus. Tip him well, he is a sweety! Sunwing ran the excursion well - we had a great flight - 20 min bus ride to the resort - and great on our return. Also, Trip Central, great to deal with. I would suggest you bring some Pringles, and snacky type stuff - as there is nothing like that to buy at the resort. So all in all we enjoyed our stay - the food - we didn't love - the mold in the room - we didn't love - but everything else - was heaven. I will return next year, without a doubt.

Nice resort

We had a get time at the resort .we tip maid very well and she was good tell Last day when left as with no towels or bed sheets witch made u feel like we dont want u to come back and she only give 1 beer every day but I guess she need to drink beer more then me (top floor building 4 ) the one waiter at the lobby bar was prejudiced to bigger people as he would not come near .he did bring as 1 drink and got a tip from us then did his best to avoid us the rest of the stay. Customer service guy was nothing but a joke he was just there for a pay check .buffet food was good the Buffet just need a better lay out to serve people better..we would probably return but we would differently avoid the waiter that thinks he better then most people there.

Excellent place to relax

Grounds were superb. Several little things in the unit needed attention. The grab bar in the tub had been removed (actually it looked like it had been wrenched from the wall ). The light switch on one of the bedside lamps was broken. The meals were good and plentiful. Staff tried to do their best to please.

Amazing Beautiful Beach!

This was our third time visiting this particular resort. The beach has been completely revamped to an amazing white sandy wider beach front. There was always someone there to help you find a beach chair if you could not find a spot on own. Some services have declined. For example: room service...particularly the bathroom not being supplied with toilet paper or not enough. Shower towels not being replaced but being told that they had been...making it an uncomfortable task to find your chamber mai [... read more]d to get some clean towels for showering. Beach towel service nonexistent. Main Buffet Dining room needs lighting. Too dark. Watching the hardworking servers working in enclosed work areas where they are polishing wine glasses in the dark. One side of the restaurant seemed to have more experienced servers than the opposite side. Lobby Bar ....I understand this resort has become a family hotspot. There should be some control over children running around the bar and sitting on the bar stools at the bar where liquor is being served. This inhibits Adults from not being able to order drinks or from being served. There should be signage in place stating no children permitted to sit at the bar. The resort is kept very clean, gardens are lush. Plublic washrooms should always have soap dispensers filled but were not. With some fine tuning, this resort can easily be brought back to its former outstanding service as we have experienced in the past.

Amazing Resort

Everything was perfect. The room was clear. the food was very good. You can find everything you want to eat. I did not rink their water but asked for botteled water. The beach is priceless. The service was exceptional.

Soft sand, and super friendly staff!

What the facility lacked in up-to-date amenities and resources (a challenge of Cuba), they make it up in customer service and their interaction with visitors. The resort needed updating, but it did not take away from our enjoyment. All the staff were wonderful. Any problems we had, they worked very hard to address. Not always successful, but always an effort was made. I would return!

Beautiful Resort

Starting with the positive, the resort grounds are beautiful. Pool is clean, never really crowded, the workers are so friendly, food is ok, after all it is Cuba. Bungalow 1 was excellent compared to Bungalows 4-10 from what I've heard in talking to other guests. We never had an issue. Always pop, beer and water in frig. I can understand the positive and negative reviews this resort gets. It all depends where you are located on the resort, Bungalows 5-10 stay, away from. Not renovated and many issues. It's as if we were at 2 different resorts. Even if you request a certain Bungalow there are no guarantees since they assign you a room the day before your arrival we were told. There's always a problem in finding chairs if you're not out early to reserve with a towel which we did but don't agree with. Bus ride to resort about 20 minutes but back to airport took 1 hour as we had to stop at other resorts! Recommend a taxi.

Beautiful Resort

The room size was great.I had a problem with the towel rack in the bathroom falling off the wall and the toilet seat being extremely loose.Both were fixed within a few days.The decor was old and the tv was small, (my pc monitor is bigger.)The grounds were well kept, scenery beautiful.Pools were fantastic, entertainment excellent.Night time entertainment was great, the actors did a fantastic job. Food was great for Cuba. Staff were great. Beach was awesome, weather could not have been better.
