We went to this resort last year. We paid when we arrived on this visit to have our own pool. A larger than average pool. The pool jets never worked. After many complaints nothing was fixed. When we complained on the way out they said oh well! Also the river had a nasty smell. We rarely saw people cleaning but we only were around people for eating since we had our own pool. Not as good ase first visit. Sorry that we had friends come down when it was so so. Wish we had gone to xcaret i[... read more]nstead. Way more to do and better service

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Very good but a few snags
The Transat rep on the shuttle transfer from the airport to the resort wasn't very helpful. Told us that we were all to meet the Transat rep at 9m the following morning. He didn't say where, who to look for, nothing. We waited all the next morning and continued checking the lobby throughout the day . We waited for hours and continued checking the lobby throughout the dayno one knew who this person was, where they were supposed to be, etc. We were taken here, there and everywhere to finally m[... read more]eet the rep who was sitting at his desk all day every day in the lobby. H, asking the employees. No one knew anything. How can no one at the reception desk or guest service desk know who the reps are for the various travel companies? Very frustrating time waster.
Stay away from Travel Club reps. They prey on you as soon as you enter the lobby, offer all their help, waste your time, and hound you until you agree to their "breakfast". Don't agree to breakfast. Put your foot down and move on to the check-in desk yourself. Don't fall for their orchestrated dance of wasting your time. Plus, do your research. The Travel Club is a scam and worst deal you will ever make. Book your own vacations whereever you want whenever you want - the Travel Club gives nothing much else except a lot of lifetime expense and headache.
Overall, the resort is pretty good, but it is getting dated. Our safe worked less than it worked. It took 4 days to get a hairdryer, much less a working hairdryer. Sand fleas in the bathroom sink and around our toothbrushes and glasses every morning. Toilet flusher kept running and running a few times yet maid service never thought to report the issue. Mattress and pillows were not very comfortable.
Food was good, lots of variety. Service at morning buffet could be improved. Took a long time to get some water, if at all, table not always set fully. Poolside, restaurant and theatre service was very good. Nightly entertainment at the theatre was very good, but acoustics not the best, which is really a shame. Still worth the watch.
Even with some of the snags (not all of them mentioned), our stay was very nice and relaxing, and we would recommend the resort though may suggest that people look at others that don't deal with the Travel Club stuff. This was extremely annoying!

TRS Turquesa: Great Vacation
TRS Turquesa is a great resort. I never wanted for anything. My Wife & I with our 4 friends that all travelled together had a great trip. The staff was attentive and met every need.
The only caveat about this trip was that I emailed our travel agent twice and got no response.
I also know I left at least one voice mail and also got no response. This was disappointing to say the least. I will likely go back to my regular travel agent and not use Trip Central for my next booking in the s[... read more]pring.

The hotel was beautiful the grounds were very well-kept we upgraded to the family selection which provided access to the all adult side of the resort the TRS coral in my opinion this was a very worthwhile upgrade I’m not sure that we would’ve been completely content without having this extended access. overall this was a lovely resort the service was definitely hit and miss some wonderful service and some not so great attention. TRS Yucatan: Great resort, just not what we were looking for at all!
This was a beautiful resort, just totally not what we wanted. We enjoy a pool with water aerobics, and beach right there in front of us. At the TRS Yucatan, it was a 4 kilometer ride to the beach. We tried to get moved as we have asked to do a few times in the past and had a lot of push back and waiting. Sunwing then wanted to charge us 1700. to move! The supervisor of TRS, Betty was informed we were not satisfied and did everything in her power to make us happy. I am grateful for her, she[... read more] did her best but this resort was way to big for our liking. I feel very disappointed in Trip Central and Sunwing. The first full three days were a nightmare trying to get moved. No service outside of poor Betty who really couldn't change the situation. I sent the following email in response.
"In the past 20 years, we have had 2 situations where we were unhappy with our choice and were moved within 24 hours with a charge of approximately $100.00 for both, or each of us. We are totally disgusted with the slow and useless service offered on behalf of Sunwing and will never deal with Sunwing Vacations again.
After spending over $4000.00, the service you offered was useless, giving us an option late on day 3 ( which did not land in my email until day 4 AM) and saying we would have to pay an additional $1700.00. Really poor customer service!! Tripcentral was not much better, however apparently out of the hands of our apologetic agent. Perhaps you can work on that too. We even had to choose options, if we do all of the prework, what are you (Sunwing) there for? If you cannot trust the hotels you work with, how is that our problem? This was never a problem before, in fact we were given options.
On a positive note, TRS had a supervisor contact us and Betty was amazing. I wanted to make it clear to Betty, her resort was beautiful, just not what we enjoy. We made it clear we do not like large resorts, we were told TRS was a small part of a large resort, the beach was " right next to resort" , when in fact the TRS beach was over 3.5 kilometers away, an 8 minute trolley ride. Betty tried to upgrade us, made reservations for us twice, contacted us daily to make sure we were okay. Betty was the true picture of customer service.
Finally, I want to suggest making these things clear, adult property with a beautiful beach 3 to 4 kilometers away (or 1 kilometer away if you want kids on your adult trip)."

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Wonderful Resort
Entrance - appealing. Arrival and departure excellent- efficient and friendly. Helpful.
Grounds- beautifully kept. Has an animal sanctuary- fun to walk by and watch the animals. Kept clean.
Bars- all friendly service fairly fast. Sports bar was a great place to get snacks in between meals.
Main buffet- lots of variety to choose from. Tastey. One thing i would like to see would be a change of menu once in a while. It got a bit boring by the 3rd day. Same same same. Still tastey though. Enou[... read more]gh choices.
Meat a little over done.
Rooms. Comfortable. Right temperature. No drawers but lots of hangers.
No charge for room service. Food came quickly though it said 45 min approx. Usually within 15-20 minutes.
All staff were friendly and helpful.
Pool fitness was fun on the bikes. Other things such as water volleyball, water polo if interested. Spanish or dance lessons if wanted.
Pool chairs are comfortable enogh. Pool service is great but not long waits at the bar.
Did not try any specialty restaurant.
Distance to downtown is far- over an hour by bus. Bucerias about 40 min. Suggestion is go early and return early then busses are not full. About 36 pesos to Bucerias by bus. You can catch a little van transp and they charge similar. I'd take one of those if it were busy rather than the bus as you have a seat to sit on. They are fairly full after lunch til dinner.
Beach is nice. Watercwas warm. Nice walks along the beach. Not a lot of shells.
Entertainment - first for kids then adults. It was short, fun, cirque style and after they had music to dance to. That too was entertaining- got people up and dancing. Had a couple of dhows with it - very enjoyable.
Overall a wonderful experience- just expect the food to be tastey but repetetive.
Overall a wonderful getaway

Grand Palladium Colonial: Big resort great time!
Had blast exploring all 3 resorts. Very clean and beautiful. The sports bar has the best food. Great friendly staff and a fantastic pool and nightlife.
Downsides were the carts for travel for older people weren't frequent enough and didn't cover enough area. Adults weren't allowed on the waterslides so I could play with my kids, there's no disco, and the buffet didn't change up very much. Also an hour from the airport with a private taxi

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Will Definately Return to this Resort
This was our first trip to Mexico, and although we were somewhat hesitant in making our decision to head there for our Winter vacation this year, finally made the travel arrangements, and we are very glad that we did choose to visit this area :)
Everything went quite smoothly from the flight down from Toronto, to the transportation to the resort via Best Day transportation.
When we arrived, there was a bit of a wait to get checked in, but no big deal....Traveling is all about waiting :)
I had[... read more] requested a Junior suite with King bed on upper level, and they didn't have a King bed available at the time of check in on an upper level, which once again wasn't a big deal...We settled for a junior suite with two double beds which worked out just fine.
The food at the resort was just fine, we ate at the Buffet each morning, and we were able to check out most of the ala carte restaurants as well. Very nice not having to reserve these restaurants in advance, with the exception of one of them. We had great dinners at all of the ones that we were able to check out.
The service at the one swim up bar was good, but it was quite busy at times which was understandable. Once again, no problem.
Definitely a great resort for being able to get lots of exercise by simply walking around and exploring. The beach was also very enjoyable for a nice long walk. The weather was excellent for the entire 8 days that we were there, but the water on the Caribbean was pretty rough for the most part. We're not much for swimming in the Ocean anyway, so once
again not an issue.
We checked out by noon on the day that we were heading home, and our pickup was supposed to be at 1:20pm
The Best Day travel van showed up about 30 minutes late, but we still made it to the airport in lots of time, and weren't rushed to get through airport.
All in all, this was a most enjoyable trip, and we look forward to returning to Mexico again in the not to far off future.
A big thanks to all of the friendly, helpful staff at the Grand Palladium Kantenah for a job well done :)

Grand Palladium Colonial: Amazing resort
I had an amazing stay at the Grand Palladium colonial resort in Cancún. The grounds were beautiful the people friendly and extremely helpful. The nightly entertainment was amazing and the dance music well let’s just say I danced every night. The dance group involved the guests. They also had a children’s hour of entertainment. The rooms were clean and spacious. I would stay there again in a heartbeat

Grand Palladium Select White Sand: Beautiful Resort! Amazing Trip!!!
We booked a junior suite with a king size bed and pullout double bed. Everything was ready and looked inviting when we got in. Our building was 2 min walk from the buffet restaurant. You do not have to worry about the food - there was enough variety to satisfy meat lovers and vegetarians. We went to the buffet for breakfast and lunch. And even tried the snack bars near by the beach. Everything tasted great. The beach was beautiful and the grounds were spacious. In the evenings we went to Brazil[... read more]ian restaurant - we liked that the least in terms of taste but the experience was great. Went to the Ribs restaurant the next night. It was pretty good. Tried the a Thai next, that was good. The Italian restaurant was the best - went there 2 nights. Each of the restaurant offered a salad buffet with a number of variety. During the week, we booked a trip to Tulum - when it was not too hot. It was a half day trip - there’s a local beach there where you could take great photos. Service was great, at the hotel, on the grounds and at the beach. There were running carts to take the guests between the 4 buildings in Grand Palladium almost all day and the evenings until quite late. There were a lot of activities for kids and adults as well as entertainment each day and evening to keep you busy. All in all an amazing trip and we will definitely be back!!

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Fantastic Resort
My wife and I had a terrific stay at the Grand Palladium Kantaneh. Our villa was very nice, lots of a la carte restaurants. Two huge pools and two small adult only pools.
This is a big resort but golf carts are readily available to pick you up and take you wherever you like.
Nightly entertainment was very good. It you go to this resort, pay the $100 to go to the “Chic†Caberet Show.

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Really nice resort
Our entire experience was great. Right from the help our TripCentral agent Wendy provided us by giving us insight and options of where to travel. We decided on Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort & Spa. As soon as we landed and passed customs we were directed to our Air Canada Vacations person. Our first real contact with a local was the bus driver. I will never forget that moment. He said, "First time in Jamaica?" I said "Yes, and he said, "Welcome to Jamaica. One Love my brother." And I thought "WO[... read more]W" what a culture and what a greeting.
We (6 of us) were there for 7 nights. The staff was great, and everyone including the grounds people were always greeting us and so friendly. The place was very clean and the food options at the resort are plenty and very good. The rooms were spacious and clean as well. Overall an excellent trip.
The pools area and the kids area are great. The beach areas are pretty good but maybe not for those who mainly like the beach as it was not a large beach area, but definitely was clean and workers raked any seaweed that was there so it was pleasant to hang out at the beach as well.
One thing I would suggest for families wishing for connecting rooms is, when you work with your Agent, to ensure that you book as a Family and request connecting rooms. We booked separate rooms and made a request for connecting rooms... But the resort did not have any available. They were very good though by getting us rooms side by side the next day. But if you wish to have connecting rooms make sure you book as a 'Family' that way, at least at this resort they provide a large room with an adjoining smaller room so that a family of 4 can easily stay.

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Nice hotel!
It was a nice hotel. It is really spread out, so lots of walking and lots of stairs. The food was good, drinks were also good. The staff was friendly. My biggest complaint would be the lack of lounges by the pools and the beach which could easily be solved by bringing out more. Lots of room for more. Security actually was timing how long you were gone from your lounge.
