The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Fantastic
Number one was the food! Exceptional! And the staff everywhere were welcoming and helpful. The grounds were spotless and the flowers were just starting to bloom. The pool activities like Zumba and aqua fit were a lot of fun and helped keep me active during my stay. Number two was the spa. As I was at the resort with my sisters, we took advantage of the free Transat spa activities like hot tub, steam room and sauna nearly every day, We also had facials and massages by very competent staff. The at[... read more]mosphere was tranquil and relaxing and the surroundings were very zen. Alex, our Transat rep helped us plan several trips outside the resort. We felt safe and well taken care of. There were tennis courts and lessons but I would have liked a few Pickleball courts. Yes, I would recommend this resort!

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: The Fives Azul in Playa del Carmen
This resort was beautiful. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The beach was well kept and not rocky. However, the beach was very busy on the weekend because it is open to the public. The pools were immaculate. The best thing about the resort was the food. The Mexican restaurant was the best in my opinion. In fact every restaurant, even the buffet, was fantastic. The staff were friendly and helpful. The spa was beautiful and relaxing. Overall a great vacation getaway.

Sensatori Resort Punta Cana: Great resort.
We really enjoyed ourselves. The resort was very nice & well taken care of.
We didn’t do enough reasearch so we didn’t realize it’s also the Nickelodeon Resort - but coming from a family with no small children, the kids there were not a problem whatsoever. But this definitely isn’t a ‘party’ resort, if that’s what you’re looking for.
The food selection was great and our concierge was extremely helpful in booking all of our reservations.
Our Sunwing rep was super nice & very[... read more] helpful with booking excursions.
The spa was great, and so were all the staff.
The entertain was awesome the week we were there. Not sure if we were just lucky. The had a massive beach party our last night & it phenomenal.
Cleaning staff can be a little slow. Put our cleaning light on at 8am and they didn’t show until almost 6pm.
Besides that, We had no complaints leaving the resort.

The resort is beautiful and the facilities are clean with friendly staff. However, the specialty restaurants are do not have authentic meals and that needs allot of improvement. The sea in that area is very rough and not enjoyable at all.

El Dorado Casitas Royale: Great May to Spend Xmas!
We recently celebrated Xmas with our family at El Dorado Casitas Royale. Visually this is one of the most beautiful and well cared for resorts that we've stayed at. The landscapers and grounds crew do an exceptional job making sure everything is groomed to perfection. We have stayed at this resort several times and have always enjoyed ourselves that we keep coming back and never hesitate to recommend this resort to our friends and family. The rooms are well decorated and very clean. The foo[... read more]d/restaurant selection is very good although sometimes there is some confusion when ordering but usually we find the food is delicious and beautifully presented. We stayed in the Presidential Studio section where our butlers - Ivan Ramirez and Xavier - made sure we were pampered and very well taken care of. Our pool bar tender - Rueben - was very attentive and also provided first class service. Already we're looking forward to our next trip!

El Dorado Seaside Palms: Very Pleasantly Surprised
We went to Sensimar Seaside Suites a little apprehensive since our previous few times in Mexico were at another adult only all inclusive. I am very much a "if it's not broke, don't fix it" kind of person, but here we were trying something new. My initial impressions were not great but looking back, I was comparing my stay here to my previous stay at the other resort where I was very familiar with the surroundings. At Sensimar/El Dorado we felt a little lost. It's not big as far as the number[... read more] of people, but the resort overall is quite large so navigating around was not always easy at first. But as the days went by and I got to talking to other guests and hearing their reviews on the restaurants and becoming familiar with where people were gathering after supper we started to really enjoy ourselves. The food was absolutely incredible. I think I would rate it higher than our other experience. If you like meeting others, this place was perfect. I like making new friends and there was no problem her because you saw people frequently. We played beach volleyball every day and the beach itself was great. I went snorkeling a few times and when the water was rough I stayed within the barricaded area where the waves were calm and saw plenty of fish, and when the waves were calm on our last day there I swam out to the wave breaks about 400 yards from shore and there was treated to an incredible amount of different fish. It was excellent. I went kayaking one day and enjoyed that a lot. My wife was more comfortable relaxing and reading on the beach so she got to enjoy that. The loungers were hard to come by if you were not up early but as the week went on the resort got less full and the beach seating became more available. We did not sit by the pool at all so I have no comment on that. The service on the beach as far as drinks goes was lacking, but I had no issues going for a short walk to one of the bars and refilling our drinks. The pina coladas were great and others seemed to enjoy the icebergs a lot (margarita beer mix). Our room was a little dated, but we spent little time in there. The beds were super comfortable which matters most to me. We took advantage of the jacuzzi tub in our room a few nights and the showers were big which was great. Overall we had an excellent stay and would gladly go back.

Selection Riviera Cancun: Wonderful experience at Sensatori!
Enjoyed the Smaller size of this resort. This made everything easily accessible from our room. The food choices were varied. Lots of fun at the Mexican food restaurant-they had us doing the Macarena! Caribbean food restaurant was great seafood dishes and a nice spot for lunch. The room service was a treat-really lovely for breakfast. All staff were friendly and professional. Grounds are well kept clean as are the rooms. Loved having a good sized balcony with patio furniture. Not really partial t[... read more]o the jet tubs in the rooms. Only thing we did not like about this resort is the seaweed on the beach and in the water. It piles up quickly and smells even with workers diligently trying to remove it. We would have liked to be able to swim out more in the ocean but it was too rocky and wavy further out in the water.

El Dorado Seaside Palms: Nice quiet get-a-way!
Just got back from a 4 night get-a-way at this resort (Dec. 28-Jan. 1) and my husband and I were very pleased. The resort is very quiet and caters mostly to couples which was perfect for us. The drive from the airport was pleasant although it was almost an hour and a half long. When we arrived the staff was very welcoming and friendly. The lobby of the Sensimar side is very dated which we noticed made some visitors concerned. Our room was not ready as we arrived at 1 pm but we were encouraged to[... read more] go eat and enjoy the grounds. We ate our first meal at Culinario which was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend their ala carte breakfast as well, which we enjoyed daily. The service was excellent, especially Cecilia the hostess. We got into our room a little before 3pm. We were on the first floor and our room had a swim up pool which was a nice touch. The room was very clean and had a Jacuzzi tub. The jets did not work but it was great for a bubble bath. We spent each day on the beach with the exception of one day that rained from morning to night. The beach is small and protected by large sand bags so it is more of a wading area, waist deep. A lot of sea weed but the workers remove it all day and it really wasn't a problem. We got out to the beach early and never had a problem getting loungers however they were not very comfortable. Lizbeth the waitress on the beach was awesome and very attentive. We stayed in the warm ocean water until sunset each day. Little tip is ask for premium alcohol when ordering drinks as we enjoyed Grey Goose Vodka when requested. The 24 hour room service was fast, accurate and of good quality. We really have no complaints. We tipped the excellent service which appeared to be much appreciated but not expected. We normally stay at Sandals resorts but opted for a less expensive trip this time and although the facilities were a little dated, the food, alcohol and service were comparable if not better. Hope this is helpful :)

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Great Resort!
The rooms were new, clean, and comfortable. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained. The beach area is soft light brown sand with very few rocks. The sandbag wall is a ton of fun. The beach wait service is fantastic. There are a ton of a la carte restaurants and all have amazing food and good service. The resort is medium sized as far as rooms and guests go, but it is large in area. It was a long walk from the new section of rooms to the beach. There are shuttles, but they n[... read more]ever seem to be where you need them. The cenote is a very unique and amazing feature of this resort. Seeing the monkeys was a highlight of our trip! There are a lot of pools on the property but only the main infinity pool is heated. The lobby is small and closed in. There is no space where you can hang out or play games or have a drink. The evening shows are outside without a lot of sitting space. We didn't stay for the duration of any of the shows as they did not hold our interest. The buffet was not as large as any other resort we have been to. The food was good and there were adequate choices. The food area was quite crowded and there weren't a lot of tables. We went over Christmas break so we paid a lot more than we would have at another time of year. This is a great resort for $2000 per person, but at peak times, you don't get more even though you pay more. Overall, this resort was great for our family vacation!

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: 2nd trip to this resort and still a great place to go to especially when accompanied by family and 2 yr old grandchild
All of the features of this location are excellent and the service and friendly staff are second to none, We'll definitely be going back for a third time.
We have never been disappointed with both Karisma Azul resorts that we have stayed at Azul Beaches twice and now Azul Fives twice.

Selection Riviera Cancun: Nice clean family resort with good food
Background: First time to Mexico for family of four from Canada with a 4 year old and a 13 months old. Looking for a family/kids friendly resort to escape the cold and enjoy the sun for 8 days.
Check in/out: Reception is very friendly and hand us cold drink the minute we arrive the resort. Although we were told it was low season (Late Nov), we were not able to get a complimentary upgrade to a swim up room or even a higher level room. Overall the check in/out process is fairly easy and no iss[... read more]ue. There is no lineup as well.
Resort Location: 20 mins away from the airport. Pickup is a bit crazy as there are lots of vans and buses picking up lots of tourists at the same time. But we made it out fairly quickly. Drive to the resort is smooth and everyone is very friendly during pickup. Other than the resort, there are nothing much around us and we didn’t go out as well.
Room: Family Jacuzzi Room. Originally we were given a room on the ground floor and you can walk out to the pool directly but we like more privacy so requested to move to 2nd floor room the next day.
The Room is very spacious and clean. I like the double sinks. Lots of storage space if you like to unpack your luggage. Rain Shower may not be the best for everyone but I love it. Quite a lot of TV channels with movies and kids networks (Most of them are in Spanish).
Kid slept in the pull out sofa bed. We also requested all kind of baby stuff (Crib, bottle warmer, baby monitor, bottle sterilizer etc) The staff is very good in setting everything up for us. Everything in the room feel fairly new and clean. It is not Vegas standard not definitely good enough for a family resort. Mini Fridge is being re-stocked everyday with drinks and chips
Service: Service is GREAT! All of them are very friendly and I don’t feel like they will only do things for you and wait for your tips. Room Service, Cleaning people, Bar, Restaurant, Pool side…. They are always here to make you feel comfortable and relax for your vacation.
Wifi: Free Wifi and the Signal is very strong throughout the resort. I don’t seem to find any blind spot no matter I am at the beach or in the room.
Pool: We stayed at the kids area and it is not busy at all. You can swim/walk up and down without feeling too crowded. There are empty beach chairs for all of us to use. I saw staff cleaning the swimming pool all the time. Water is a little cold but it is bearable if you go under the Sun. There are many families with smaller kids that will share toys and entertain with your kids.
Beach: White sand beach but the water is definitely not blue like Cuba. Lots of seaweed watching up to the beach. They have people cleaning up around the clock but still can’t keep up. The first 4 days we didn’t even go into the Ocean. Luckily it cleaned a little bit and we went for a dip. The water is quite warm. I guess if you are going to this resort, you are NOT going for the beach. Unless you are prestige member, otherwise it will be very hard to get the gazebo on the beach (maybe woke up at 7am). They reserved some of the gazebo for Prestige member.
Restaurant: All the restaurants are good. The Deco for all the restaurant are nicely done! The Seafood are amazing! Taste very fresh. Buffet (Spoon) is always a good option but out of all the other restaurant, we like 1. Zavaz Caribbean restaurant (Best Fish), 2. Zocalo Cantina bar (Best taste Taco), 3. Tapaz Spanish restaurant (A little too salty), 4. Pizza Dude! (Next to the kids pool – targeting kids). We never need to make any reservation for the restaurants and they were never packed.
Entertainment: 2 shows every night. Music, Singing, Magic, dancing etc. Usually they have a 8pm show which is more kids friendly (Nickelodeon Orange Carpet). I love the show but don’t expect firework or anything like that. Again, it is a family resort so I think it is just good. Sometime we missed some of the show as we didn’t go and check what’s the 8pm show. Maybe it is a good idea for a 1 pager to leave at our room the night before remaining me what show is on the next day.
Maintenance: I constantly seeing staff cleaning, repairing, painting within the resort. They are working around the clock to keep this place clean and ready for their guests. I don’t have any complaint about that.
Kids Area: Nice place. If you kids is between 4-12. You can drop them off so you can have some alone time. They have lots of activities every hours to keep the kids happy and busy. Movie night daily 7:30 – 9:30pm
My kids are a bit too young so we couldn’t take full advantage for that. You can also borrow toys from them and bring it back to your room (It works well for my 1 year old with new toys every day). Nickelodeon character around the kids pool. Wish we see more Paw Patrol…
Weather: Between 28-30C the first 5 days. Always sunny! Weather forecast said there will be thunder shower for the last 3 days but only some rain and clouds. So don’t 100% trust the online weather forecast. Never need to wear a wind breaker or anything.

Selection Riviera Cancun: Excellent food!
This was about my 15th all inclusive and the first where I could honestly say that the food was excellent. Dishes all arrived hot and perfectly cooked and unlike some resorts the food did not all taste "the same". Make your way to the adult pool bar for some excellent service from Mariano, Zakeo, and Evelio, who have the ability to make any drink that you can imagine. As for all the bad reviews about the beach, yes there was some seaweed on windy days but it was dealt with promptly and was non e[... read more]xistent when the winds calmed down. We even managed to do a bit of decent snorkeling from the beach, and saw lots of corals and fish including a nurse shark, eels, lobster, and a stingray. My one disappointment was that a beach walk got cut off in both directions from that resort. Beautiful resort. Great staff! Great food!

El Dorado Seaside Suites: Nice resort
The resort was really nice, food was very good as was the service. The only thing not so good was the beach but we did know that before going. We upgraded to swim up room on first floor which was nice as higher floors were very slippery when balcony door open. Don't book room on 4th floor as there is a bar there and it can be noisy at night.
I would not hesitate to return to this resort. Thx to Marni at trip central who was very helpful in booking this for us.

El Dorado Casitas Royale: Wonderful
Was awesome but needs to be more handicapped accessible. Food and staff were amazing. Very romantic and you receive the whole pampered treatment which was great. Variety of places to eat and drink was a refreshing option.
