Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Amazing Resort

We had no problem staying at this resort. This was our second time here. I will be back next year, only longer this time. We truly enjoy our vacation. It was nice to see workers updating the room etc. Everything was clean and beautiful.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: GH Grand Ventana Resort

This is an excellent Resort to visit and stay for a week or more, whatever you want . The place is very clean and the food is delicious and the waiters (men and women) are very friendly and helpful, always smiling and kind to everyone. I would highly recommend this Resort. This past 10 days were great. This was my 4th time at this Resort.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Nice resort.

The hotel grounds were very nice, common areas likes pools were in good condition and well organized. Evening entertainment was good, although not really my thing. Food at the buffets was good, what you would expect from any buffet. Lots to choose from. The "a la cartes" I thought were lacking. I went to 3 of the 4 on site and only enjoyed one of them. Of that one, many others in our party did not enjoy their meals. My favorite place at the resort was the coffee bar, although it was f [... read more]requently understaffed during busy periods. Same could be said about the bars in the common areas. Many complaints about understaffing and wait times.

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: Great Family Vacation

This resort is great for families. Party of 9. Great service all around. Buffet was awesome. Al a cartes could be much better. Ocean burger great for a quick lunch. Drinks were good and a great selection. Mike’s coffee is great but, be prepared to wait and service is slow. There is soft serve ice cream at ocean burger. Ice cream parlour outside the buffet has a great selection. Cotton candy available by the bowling alley. Kids loved it. Grounds are clean and beautiful. There is a trolley which comes around all day which is great as the resort is big and beneficial for those who can not walk long distances. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. We had no issues. Oceans is beautiful but red flag everyday except one. We still enjoyed it. There are many rocks. Lagoon was nice and calm as there were a few people who can not swim and went into the lagoon and enjoyed it as they felt safe. Bowling alley and family lounge was great. The kids really enjoyed them. Nightly entertainment hit and miss. Some nights were good and others not so good. The kids night shows are on too late for them to enjoy. Transfer to a from the airport no issues. Services at airport was quick. Resort over all could use some repairs just like other resorts. Not enough to complain about as we had no issues. More pros than cons. Would definitely recommend this resort for families. Mike

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Vh Gran Ventana

As always we had a fantastic time . The resort was at full capacity because of Cuba but the experience was the same. The staff were awesome especially the very friendly Rosa, Raul always trying his best to get us a table and Luis the beach bae bartender . Rooms smelled cleaned after the maid left , no issues with hot water or towels. Food was great . Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Relaxing Tropical Resort with Beautiful Grounds, Great Service, and Minor Drawbacks

Gorgeous, lush tropical grounds that are beautifully maintained, with plenty of shade and trees taller than the buildings. Our renovated room had fully functioning A/C, two queen-size beds, and a garden view. It was conveniently located right next to both the beach and the pool. Housekeeping service was excellent throughout our stay. The buffet could feel a bit repetitive, but the wide variety of options made it easy to switch things up daily. It was especially nice having a buffet close t [... read more]o the beach. The à la carte restaurants were good, and the service across the resort was consistently good. That said, the buffet could benefit from more staff, as tables weren’t always cleared promptly during busy times. We didn’t try room service, so we can’t comment on that, but we really enjoyed the coffee shop. The entertainment team did a great job, and the pool was clean and appeared quite new. As for the beach, there is some seaweed in April, but staff clear it early each morning, so there’s very little during the day. Otherwise, the beach is clean and free of trash. The PURE Chill-Out Bar on the beach (reserved for Privileged guests) serves premium brands, and the drinks there were excellent. Overall, the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a minor issue with the safe (our mistake), which was resolved quickly. The phone line in our room wasn’t working, but since we were in the lobby daily, it wasn’t a major inconvenience—we simply used our cell phone when needed. We also didn’t receive beach towels in our room as part of the Privileged package, but it was easy enough to get them from the towel kiosk. The only downside is that the resort isn’t within walking distance of local shops, so you’re limited to what’s available on-site at resort prices. That said, if we return to Punta Cana, we would likely choose this resort again.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Could be better

I'd like to give a Higher rating but fighting for chairs, be it pool or beach was no fun, ask the poor guy who had to babysit the chairs on the beach Noone was using with no ship in port, I had to comendere for myself and family one day literallynone to be had except the wmpty ones in the taped section. Cant use amber cove though not for anyone else but the cruise people, I loved it room 516 the view of water mountains wind turines and again the ships was awesome. however only freezing shower water though, and I mean freezing not even room temp. and a broken tv nobody came to fix upon several asks. but great wifi so didnt need it really . The Senetor has very limited beach with out rock on shore and the good part of it and chairs caters to the privilege people and the cruise people in a off limit taped off section sectioned off area full of chairs and no one using them better part of beach and the only beach bar service again for them only. Drinks are better at playa bachata more bars for sure over there seems more selection if you can walk the distance often. when it comes to the beach yes one could go down wayyyy farther near playa but the distance was way to far for my mother the heat and distance to our room was better to stay closer for her.another con people were saving seats at the pool at nite I dont mind early morning saving but not overnite for the duration of your stay quit rude and security i was told should be removing stuff no. not once was I able to sit at the pool our whole trip so busy not sure I'd wanna be in it very very full . A la catrtes were all booked up mostly. Weekends get crazy as locals come for it. Couldn't understand a word our rep was saying and he was very short in a hurry. The sports bar was great however always full extremely busy the Senetor could definitely use another bar lobby or piano just another not enough bars. The nitely Entertainment bounced back and forth from playa to senetor which sucks you have to get a seat early like 7 pm to get a good one sit and watch the lame kids Entertainment only to be told to go to other resort so I didnt see any or much Entertainment this time. There was one nite the buffet was to die for it was Saturday april 18th the choice of meat avaiable whole pig just wow. Some bar staff were amazing while others definitely not so happy half half sorta thing I found. Im not sure id return to Senetor maybe a swim up room. I am returning next april again and I'll be definitely looking at playa bachata or a swimup room maybe at senetor or totally more upgraded hotel with more bars and adults only area section pool etc. We will see. But the weather was amazing and Puerta Plata never disappoints me. I love this area of D.R. im forgetting something but for now this will do.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Beautiful Resort

The grounds at Iberostar Costa Dorada are very nice and walkable ( we loved the Peacocks ) There was lots of palpalas and loungers terraced area, shaded areas at the beach ( pool loungers were taken early ) Lots of food choices at the buffet. The Beach BBQ was very good and they did Paella every day at the beach. The room was very comfortable and clean. No vendors on the property but a market nearby if you wanted souvenirs. Very nice lounge area for evening entertainment.

Paradisus Palma Real Golf and Spa Resort: Resort does not cater to Gluten free sensititves plus Circle members seem to be treated better than other guest even the guest that paid for the reserve upgraded amenities.

This hotel caters to the circle members better than the other people even the ones paying for the reserve section which is costly. The hotel does not really know what gluten free means. Do not go if Gluten sensitive. One chief at the same restaurant will prepare a gluten free pasta while at the same restaurant on another night and another chief the guest is told that it is not possible to prepare the gluten free pasta. Guest was celebrating birthday (visited April 13-22/26) and got a chocolat [... read more]e bar with a Christmas tree decoration on it! Christmas was 4 months before arrival! Bars - some would give the reserve guests premium alcohol while other bars would not. No consistency. Beach beds - a large amount are old and are sinking in the middle. Beach is beautiful as well as clear sandy bottom. Most staff are happy and gracious to be there. For the same price point as the reserve at Paradisus Palma Real a person could go to the W Punta Cana or the Excellence properties and get better gourmet style food and better gluten free options.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Great Time

We had a one bedroom suite. This room is exceptional with two bathrooms, two TVs and two rooms..Oh and two balconies. The food at the buffet was good. We didn't even go to the specialty restaurants. Yes the VIP is worth the extra. Seven days of sunshine. No chair hogs at the VIP beach section.

VIK Hotel Arena Blanca: Possible resort

Food was excellent!! Accommodations are getting tired and need refreshing Your beach requires a great deal of work as very uneven and cramped. Lounge chairs are in short supply and many need repair Also beach needs a great deal more shade Much better enforcement is needed regarding reserving lounge chairs. Many are reserving both pool and beach for the whole day and often doing this in the middle of the night Also need better control of inappropriate behaviour in pool area.i

Playabachata Hotel: We had a lot of fun

The grounds were being cleaned constantly. The rooms were comfortable and the balcony was large. The staff were friendly, especially Y . FLouris at the buffet and Chocolate and Mariposa on the animation team. A special thank you to the head of guest services. We loved the large beach with many palm trees. Tropical Ave was a nice place to walk too. We enjoyed #7 beach vendor and the fellow with the monkey. We enjoyed the food The pool was kept clean and the foam party was pretty cool.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Best trip We had in 30 years

We stayed at the Grand Ventana and was a holiday my wife and I Susie, will never forget. The Food was top notch. The Staff always greeted us with a smile and kindness. We loved our early morning walks along the beach, and my wife loved the pools and never wanted to get out. Will recommend this resort and will defiantly come back to the same resort when we return.

Riu Palace Macao: Exceptional Resort

We booked two weeks at the Riu Macao in April 2026. It was very good. If you look at the resort website, there are no bad surprizes. The room was clean, well stocked with clean towels, the bar was restocked daily. The beach is exceptional. We did not use the pool but there are 4 of them. Pepe`s food at noon had some of the best burgers we have ever had. Food at The Patio was very good & lots of it. The coffee bar is great as well as The Cuban Bar. Ver Pleased.

Punta Cana Princess: Princess review

Everything was lovely. Could have done without the giant cockroaches in the room first morning but in fairness we were on the ground floor. Service people were very friendly and helpful. Grounds were beautiful and well kept. A lot of pride goes into the appearance and upkeep.

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Beautiful resort

The resort and grounds were absolutely beautiful. The food was amazing and there was lots of variety at the buffet and lots of different drinks to choose from at the bars. The room was clean, but did have a musty smell to it. I have mixed reviews of the customer service as some of the staff were friendly and other staff were not very friendly. Overall it was a great stay and I would recommend this resort to others.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Amazing resort

This resort have everything we want, not too big bog too small .. very clean.. everyday they clean our,room make our bed, fresh towels and refill the fridge with drinks.. they have variety of food i buffet.. i love their fresh fruits, sea foods and drinks ( from the bar) the only comment i can say their entertainment, they need to have more fun activities for the guests. I will definitely come back.

Catalonia Royal Bavaro: Great first resort!

First resort vacation for the two of us and we had a lovely time! Great location - close to the airport, but it felt tucked away. Grateful we went for the adult-only option, but also had access to the full resort. Beach was great with lots of beautiful trees, though it was sometimes tough to find a spot with so many people saving chairs. Staff were friendly & helpful, particularly Hansel who coordinated activities. Room was nice, and felt comfortable rather than a sterile grey/white copy of so [... read more]mething you could find anywhere. Food was fine, but not worth a return trip. And, when they said they had 'archery', they meant a single bow that we lined up to shoot a couple of times. Great to be able to kayak out on the ocean!

Nice hotel although a little dated. Staff were lovely. The food was delicious. The buffet and à la carte restaurants were clean and the food was fresh. Our room was clean and spacious. The grounds were well looked after. Steps to the ocean. There was a lot of seaweed on the beach, it would have been nice if it was raked daily.
