Very happy with the resort

This was my first time to Cuba. Was a very enjoyable and relaxing vacation Staff were very friendly and all accommodations were satisfactory. I would definitely go back to this resort. Beaches were very good and so was the food. Took a trip to Havana and took about 2 hrs one way which was welll worth the trip

Comfortable and well run resort

Beautiful beaches and super clean resort. Rooms had ample room for 3 adults - 2 doubles and a chair pulled out into a super single. Lots of food choices to choose from but limited if dietary restrictions as even the grills are multi use. Staff were all super friendly and bent over backwards to accommodate any requests. Wonderful resort!

We stayed in an Ocean Front Privilege room which overlooked the infinity pool and Caribbean sea and was close to all amenities. Definitely worth the extra money for the Privilege room and the extra service that comes with it. I wouldnt stay unless i had the Privilege room. The staff was friendly, room was clean and the food was very good although salty at times. I didnt enjoy the buffet at all. Beaches were beautiful, no sand fleas!

Amazing Trip Once Again

This was our second visit to this resort and once again it was awesome! The staff here is incredible and a few remembered us from our previous trip 1 1/2 years ago. They are constantly painting and making upgrades to maintain the property. The bathrooms by the big beach are a great addition. We need to mention Yoelkis, Alejandro, and Nestor at the theatre bar who always remembered what we were drinking and were so friendly and warm. He and the team did their best to keep everyone entertained even when the weather wasn't so great. We would definitely return to this resort just for the staff alone but we really don't have any complaints. This was our 11th trip to Cuba and we will definitely be back!

Super resort

The resort was super. The Ala Carte restaurants they have are just 3 for the size of the hotel they should add another. Everything else was awesome. We had a great time and the staff were all fantastic.

AMAZING PLACE

We just came back from our first trip to varadero and I am inlove with Cuba. It was perfectly organized to get to the resort from the airport and back from when we were leaving! The food was sooo good especially the burgers by the pool & I can’t say enough about the entertainment group. Danny, Gustavo, Pedro, Douglas, Mirthaa, Aribyl, Noriel, Felix, Yoeli and Carlos are names I will never forget. Amazing resort

The hotel is amazing. The people at the resort is what makes the trip well worth it. The food was better than anticipated. However, they could work on their drinks. The resort is very modern, and is close to the Varadero market. Highly recommend this resort.

Great resort

Room was modern and clean. Resort seemed modern and well maintained. Grounds were well maintained. Pool was lovely. Lots of seating at the pool and the two beaches and the infinity pool. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nobody bugged people to buy stuff. The view at the infinity pool is amazing. The colour of the sea is amazing. AMAZING RESORT AND TRAVEL AGENT

Where do i start? From the time of booking which was with Candice Anger, until we returned home was amazing. We have never had such a wonderful holiday and relaxing time, as we did on this trip. Candice took great care of us as i have mobility issues, and the staff at the ocean vista azul were very amazing. i would rate this agent as a 10+ and the hotel as a 10 + and also sunwing excellent. We will defiantly return to this resort.

Better than average

Resort was pretty.... great pools and beaches!.The food was better than the average cuban hotel. The drinks weren’t the best!! The wine was horrible and the lobby bar had no straws!! If your looking for quiet nights then this hotel is for you. I personally like a little more action at night!! The hotel lobby shuts down early and there is no disco.... i will definitely be back to varadero but i will stay in the city where the action and good times are....

Great resort!

We loved our week at ocean Azul. It was a beautiful, clean resort with great service. The infinity pool is so beautiful as are the beaches. Food was so-so, always something to find though. We really enjoyed our breakfast and lunch at the privilege restaurant. Dinner was a little dicey and had to go to the buffet after a couple of the a la cartes. No one went hungry though and overall we loved it! Would recommend.

Great resort

The resort was fantastic.The staff were very friendly.The rooms were large& very clean .The bathrooms were very modern& clean.The maids were very friendly, fresh sheets&towels every day.The grounds very clean.The food gets repetitious after a while , but good selection

Fantastic Resort and Staff!

This resort was the best resort we’ve stayed at in Cuba thus far! It was very clean, beautifully decorated, staff were very attentive and it wasn’t so huge that you felt like you had to walk miles from one end to the other. The food was rather good but I heard many complain as always with Cuba but we liked it. You have to consider where you are. The one thing I will mention that isn’t necessarily a negative however more awareness needs to be put in place. The entertainment is a tad provoca [... read more]tive/racy. I get how Latin culture is a bit more “sexy” and less conservative but this time we literally had ladies on stage in their thongs shaking what mama gave them! Lol They were beautiful but moulin rouge and twerking in your underwear isn’t a family show! So simply just make people with families aware of that. The pools were wonderful and the two beach options were also splendid! We liked the smaller beach the most with the snack bar nearby. The sand was nicer and food and drink were accessible. They could use more umbrellas for those who prefer shade.

Beautiful Clean Resort

The resort was extremely clean - which is always a good sign the staff were extremely hard working and the most friendly staff we have met in Cuba. They always shook your hand - remembered your drink - and made sure you had everything you needed in the bars. The buffet staff were sometimes quite slow to provide you with your water or coffee but once you did have the drinks you were good. The cooking staff were always happy to cook your omelets or pasta to your liking as well. The resort is v [... read more]ery well laid out with the main pool as the entertainment area and the beach area - which was quite small on the one side and quite crowded was kept clean and if you did not like the small area the larger beach was on the other side of the buffs - which was a very short walk away. All in all we had a most excellent stay at the resort with exceptional service and would definitely stay at the Ocean Vista Azul again.

As advertised

Hotel, beach and grounds are beautiful and clean. Food is so so but you won't starve. If you like to party at night either bring your own fun or go to town. Staff and service are top notch. Hints - bring larger cups for coffee shop and bars, very small ones there only. also no straws available

Our honeymoon

This was our first time to this resort. We where giving several hotel choices by our travel agent and choose this resort because of the nightly entertainment reviews. We where not disappoint. The night shows where fantastic. We also upgrade our stay to the vip. For us this was a good dicision for us. The service was great and the food in the vip restaurant was also great. We did try the buffet once was not a fan. Food was cold and service was ok. We also tried once one of the other restaurants [... read more]. Service was not so good and food was ok. The room we had was excellent we had a great holiday and would return to this hotel.

Will not be returning

Although the resort was clean, the food and bar service was horrible. Entire cows (head, feet, tail) were on the grill all day and when finished, they stayed uncovered on the grill outside all day. Blood pudding sausage balls, entire fish (with head, tail) and awful poached eggs. Restaurants were not open when they were supposed to be and their "Italian Restaurant" was not Italian. People around us were equally disgusted. Shrimp was served with "all the parts" attached. With regards to th [... read more]e bar, unless you were a "privilege" member you couldn't access certain drinks. Who brings their own liquor to an "all-inclusive"? Thank goodness for our day trip to Havanna. Was supposed to be a 10 day stay, landed on Thursday and returned home on Sunday. Room staff was excellent - other than that - not impressed. Will not return.

A wonderful holiday at the Ocean Vista Azul

This was our first visit to Cuba. We had a lovely room with a king bed at the Ocean Vista Azul - Varadero. The whole complex was clean. The staff was excellent. Our room attendant Axia was really sweet & did an excellent job. The entertainment by the pool & on the stage was very good to excellent. All the Entertainment directors were well suited to their jobs - especially one lady - Mirther - we really loved her - she is a very good people person!! The Buffet had lots to offer including 3  [... read more]grilling stations - a great variety. Roasted whole turkeys were served several times during our 10 days stay. There are 3 restaurants - however, we found we could not make a reservation, just had to show up at 6pm - we tried Italian restaurant. Their system failed us. They let all the people into the place, about 30, then they took your order, brought a drink, then we had to wait one & one half hours.....we enquired how much longer, but the waitress could not give us an honest answer so we left and we noticed another couple did also. So we continued to enjoy the Buffet for the duration of our holiday. The beaches were great! Weather was hot and sunny.

New and clean

Hotel was on a fairly small footprint compared to some, so nothing was too far away. Asked to have room cleaned without chemicals because of allergies and this was done everyday without issue. Our maid Aixa was wonderful. Staff was friendly. No one on the resort seemed to have any upset stomach from the food. Loved the evening entertainment in the lobby. Very clean. My only complaints - could not reserve the a la carte's and the walkways were extremely slippery when wet which was very [... read more] dangerous.

Great Week!!!

Check in was fast....First night there...no hot water....rooms smelled bad with a combination of diesel and humidity....got switched the next day.....rooms still had tge smell however not so bad...hot water was luke warm but better then cold....Overall resort is beautiful. Entertainnent staff was awesome....food was great. ALL Staff .... like every other 3 resorts we have been to are AMAZING AND FRIENDLY!!! Rooms were very clean....need puffier pillows :) Buffet needs a change up sometimes... [... read more].was always the same but great! As for A La Carte we didnt try any Beach ..... one to the left too crowded and rocky....one on the right ....couple minutes of walking but way better.....if you plan on doing norning walks on the beach....u cant go very far! HOWEVER Cuba Beaches are beautiful! Not too much shaded areas around the pool. U have tonask for an Umbrella early or u will have none! Overall.....a great week with lots of sun ;)
