Needs some work

You can see they are working day to day to upgrade. Entertainment staff were great. It appeared things didn't get rolling at the beach until afternoon. Room bookings was a major problem at this hotel. We were a large group and many other people did not get the room they paid for. Front staff were not friendly, and that is where your first impressions come from. Management needs to get this area running smoothly.

Resort has potential but not there yet

When we arrived we were not put into the rooms we had booked but were finally moved after two days. The rooms we were in initially were horrible and it took a lot of arguing and negotiating to get moved. Food was generally ok. Staff were great. Wine was undrinkable, especially the red. There were some high end liquors but no rye at all.

Very nice resort

The resort was awesome. Lovely big room and pool with easy access to beach. Very clean resort and food was amazing as well as service. The only thing needed is better entertainment in the evening but the theatre was under renovation so perhaps that's why. Awesome disco though! We had a great time

Don't believe everything that is posted.....

My wife and I stayed here last week and we had a great time. The food was great, the room was great and we hooked up our Net Flicks account to the smart TV for those early nights. The staff went the extra mile with every request and the service was fast. We read poor reviews about the food and long lines. Sorry this is just not the case at all. Disappointed

We tried the a la cartes, the steak was quite tough. We both got sick the 3rd night. The resort finally opened the buffet for dinners which made a difference as we were on a soup diet. The last night buffet was the best. Our room toilet leaked all week, had to put a beach towel on the floor because it was slippery and dangerous. No grab bars in shower. No towel racks. No dressers. No chairs in room. Our balcony door was left open by the maids each day, leaving the mosquitoes to enter. The balcon [... read more]y door did not close properly as the latch was broken, thus no security in the room. A man had to come each day just to close it as it was jammed. Finally wrote a note in Spanish for the maids not to open the door, and pinned note on the curtains. The Beach was almost 1/4 of a mile to walk to, this was the biggest disappointment. We had to walk along a stone path which was beside a long stagnant water pond housing local birds and lots of mosquitoes. Misleading to say the resort is on the beach. The ocean water was very dirty, and too rough to swim in. It drops off quite deep. Added to this, there was a constant parade of vendors going to each person that had a lounge chair on the beach. Very annoying. As well, the resort has Viva Club Member sales people that drove us to distraction. We finally had to keep walking around them, looking for routes where they did not stand. In all we can not say this was a great stay. Definitely not a 4 plus.
