Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Beautiful Resort

It was a beautiful resort. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The food was awesome in the buffet with plenty of selections and the restaurants were even better!! I only wish we could have tried them all but we booked an excursion to Samana (which was great) and returned late for the steak house and had to cancel the Mediterranean because we attended the Superbowl bash which was another great added feature. Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Incredible Resort!!!

The hotel grounds and lobby were absolutely beautiful! The food was really good with lots of options. The bartenders were all very sweet and their service was amazing. Our housekeeping lady was always accommodating to our needs and kept our room spotless. Some of the service in the restaurants were poor.

Paradisus Grand Cana: Beautiful resort

The grounds pools and food was amazing. I did not like that we had to shuttle to the ocean. The service was also awesome. Friendly staff . Good times had by all. Great place to visit family had an excellent time .

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: good resort

Staff were very friendly and tried to be as helpful as they could. Most of the entertainment was good. The beach and pools were wonderfully well kept. There were some issue with some of the rooms (all water going out to one building, hot water going out and a leak in one of the rooms). There was a decent variety in the food. It is too bad the neighbouring property was sold to others as going forward people will not be able to use both properties

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Beautiful resort but way too large for my liking

The grounds were beautiful and the resort and rooms were kept very clean. The service was also very good. My only complaint is that the train that takes you to the lobby and beach is sometimes slow and there is a bit of a wait time. We were lucky and were able to access the Melia Caribe side as well which made it easier and closer to go to the buffet but in the future this will not be available. Melia Puerto Vallarta: Very disappointing

The resort was very run down and out dated. The room door could not be locked. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom so the mirror would stay fogged up all day. The beds were uncomfortable. The food was not good anywhere in the resort. It was cold and tasteless with little variety. We ate mostly of the resort. The entertainment was very unprofessional and not entertaining. The beach was very rough. All of the pool side chairs were reserved by 8 am and the pool was in need of repair. The best  [... read more]part was when we checked out. The desk clerk told me that I was to come down at 11 to catch my ride to the airport and that there would be a Transat rep there to help us. We came down at 10:30 and there was no rep. The clerk told us to sit and wait and they would get us when the bus came. At 11:10 I asked where the bus was and was told that it had left at ,10:30. With our flight leaving at 12:30, we got a cab to take us to an ATM machine on the way to the airport. When we got there we were told that we would have to catch the next flight out on Thursday. After talking to the gate attendant, we were told that if we run all the way to the gate, we can board the plane. We then found out that there was no boarding pass issued for Gail. After we made it through the metal detectors, we got on board and realized that we were missing one passport. Once we arrived in Toronto, customs told me to go to the Transat desk and have them call PV to locate my passport. The girl at the desk was too busy texting on her phone and handed me a card with customer service number and told me to call them. So other than that. The trip was ok

Everything was perfect the rooms was great the service was great there was always something to eat The only thing we didn’t like was it was to big for us It was a very long walk to anything and to get something to eat it was a long walk

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Caribe Beach resort review

Accommodations for seniors with mobility issues not satisfactory. Request for ground floor accommodations denied for Seniors 80+ who had issues with stairs. Trip with family resulted in parties at opposite ends of resort. This was at times challenging as resort very large. Use of a trolly recommended. Resort itself was beautiful. Dining options were good. Resort would suit younger persons.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Great resort!

The resort was beautifully maintained. The trolly ran all the time and it is need based on the size of the resort. The only issue we had were the location of the rooms. We were assigned a room on the 3rd floor of our building and I found it extremely difficult to climb the stairs with a bad knee. We asked to be moved but the hotel would not accommodate us. This forced me to walk less due to the pain from climbing the stairs.

Paradisus La Perla Adults Only Riviera Maya: Awesome hotel BUT

We had an amazing time at Paradisus La Perla. The resort is just the right size. The rooms were amazing. The buffets were a bit small and diversity was lacking a bit, but the many À la carte made up for it. Nightly entertainement was just enough, but we were disappointed to find our everything was closed after 1AM. The sales team has an agressive way of promoting their membership programs, which impacted the service we received; amazing at first but decreased once we decided not to enroll in th [... read more]eir Circles program. After that every nice gestures from the hotel staff felt like a scam, or a way to get us to spend membership points or enroll, which was a bit unfortunate. Would still definitely go back. Proximity to Playa Del Carmen cit center was a big plus

Melia Puerto Vallarta: Good but not great hotel

I would rate this hotel as OK. I would stay there again only if better hotels were too expensive. The hotel is dated and tired. It is clean enough but in my opinion needs to be gutted and redone. The hotel has a great location right on the beach and a very short walk to Marina Vallarta. The room is clean and had an amazing view of the pool, beach, ocean and mountains. The food in the buffets is actually pretty good with a different food theme each night. The two restaurants have way fewer reserv [... read more]ations available then they will handle for some reason. The food in the restaurants is also pretty good. Some really good choices and some not so good choices. The service all in all is good but we had to wait at times for drinks at the buffets. The service in the restaurants is excellent. The hot water is also spotty. Sometimes you have nice hot water and sometimes you don't. We made it work but it could have been better. They have a lot of activities and shows most nights. The facilities for the activities are also tired and need to be replaced. For instance, the mini put has many creases in the greens and frankly were unusable. They play loud music at the pool and bar all day and night. This is probably typical for all hotels in PV I would think. If you want to get to sleep before midnight, bring good ear plugs. If you into pickle ball they have eight courts on property put into two tennis courts. I have no idea how you sign up for this as we don't play. PV itself is all and all a wonderful place to visit. The weather in January was perfect for us. Cool night and mornings and warm afternoons. There is also lots to do. Go whale watching if you can as it was amazing. Don't book with the people on the beach though. Go through a reputable tour company. Vallarta Tours is the most prevalent one.

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Highly Recommend the Level - Incredible Value

Just got back from the Melia Wellness Resort for our anniversary and had such a wonderful time. We booked rooms that were a part of the "Level" and I seriously recommend this upgrade. The atmosphere was truly restoring for the soul. We took advantage of the free 30-minute massage as a couple and I later had an 80-minute hot stone massage. It was incredible. I have been to many all-inclusive resorts around the world and can attest that the food and service here, especially at the Level, are top quality. It was great to have many healthy (and some vegan) options as well. We had an outstanding experience with our "butler", Jenfry De Jesus. He was a personal concierge who took amazing care of us. He was so helpful during our trip and made sure all of our questions and concerns were addressed. He also had a few surprises up his sleeve that made our trip extra special. Overall, I wouldn't have wanted to have experienced our anniversary at any other resort. It was perfect.

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Great Time!

Overall we had a very good experience at this hotel - it was very positive and relaxing. Transportation to and from the airport was very comfortable. Reception and staff were always available to help. Grounds and pool area are well maintained and beautiful. Food generally was good. However, buffets were repetitive and restaurant options limited on the Adults Only side (only 3 restaurants besides the buffet rooms). Regarding the rooms, they are large, comfortable and clean albeit a little d [... read more]ated. Lots of extra activities available which were a lot of fun and interesting. Definitely would recommend this resort especially if you like a more low key environment.

Melia Puerto Vallarta: Overall great

The staff are awesome! The location of the hotel was great. Certainly appreciated all the Christmas activities for kids. The food was good. The hotel was a little dated but clean. One downside is that there were often not enough pool chairs and loungers.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Incredible Experience!

We visited this resort for 8 days with our kids and the experience was nothing short of incredible! Everyone, and I do mean everyone were beyond accommodating. It was my kids very first trip to the Dominican and they are officially in love with everything. The evening entertainment was breath taking and the resort itself was clean and well kept. Definitely a place we will be returning! Thank you so much to all of the staff for such a memorable experience!

Paradisus La Perla Adults Only Riviera Maya: Areas to improve but overall great time

Flight good, transfer service to resort was not coordinated well, resort itself great though clearly still recovering post Covid times. Transfer service for travellers arriving from different places resulted in only one transfer logged for one of the travellers. I unfortunately was the other person. Felt stranded at airport trying to explain situation, and again same situation at the resort. My last 24 hours at the resort was spent in high stress.

Melia Puerto Vallarta: Great Mexican resort

We had a great time at this resort. Antonio helped us with a small room issue right away and this made a huge difference. Alberto and Alfredo provided extra attention and wonderful smiles. There is plenty of space to lounge unless it's Sunday which opens to locals. It was nice to see the families enjoying themselves but it would be a good idea to add extra cleaning staff for the washrooms near the beach on Sundays. The Mexican food was delicious but the meat at the Italian restaurant was sub par [... read more]. The Christmas decorations and evening lighting along with covered walkways were a nice touch. A great location and easy to walk to the Marina. Fun trip!

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Amazing Resort

My husband and I just came back from a fantastic 2 weeks at this resort. We of course, read plenty of reviews prior to our trip and were a bit nervous of our choice due to some of the complaints about food and unfriendly staff. We were very happy to find that these complaints were completely untrue. Those that made those complaints must simply be very very fussy and possibly would be better off vacationing in their own country. We did upgrade to the Level, which I think made our trip. The re [... read more]staurant and bar staff are extremely friendly and courteous throughout the resort It is a big resort with immaculate grounds. From the lobby to the beach or the level rooms is just a nice 10 minute walk we enjoyed in the evening after eating so much! There is also golf cart and train rides running constantly to take you if you choose not to walk. The spa is stunning, very nice pools and beach and a good selection of ala cart dining options which offered 4* food. We only ate in the buffet one night (the night we arrived). The butler booked us in ala cart restaurants all the other nights which is fantastic. There are several good options for dinner. The level also has it's own restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinner. Steaks and shrimp for lunch...yes please! We should also mention the wonderful service in the level restaurant (Quimera). The wait staff are amazing! Special thanks to Miguel and Fredy, but all of them were fantastic. There is a wonderful rooftop bar on top of this restaurant which is great in the evenings with lovely views. (see night-time pic) The only downside to the resort we seen is the seaweed on the beach and in the water. There is a large amount in the water (obviously not the resorts fault) so we didn't feel comfortable to go in the water. On the beach itself they have a tractor and turf rake to try to clear the seaweed off the beach. However it was not utilized enough and the beach remained pretty dirty. Our room, as some have said otherwise, was not dated at all. It was decorated very well and have ample storage space. The mini bar is restocked daily and they even leave you snacks to enjoy. We very much enjoyed the Shaker bar in the evenings which is a specialty Marquita bar. The bartenders there (May Cedano, Estailyn Santos and Rafael Valdez) do an outstanding job, always trying to make your time there an enjoyable one. A special thank you to Rachel Guindon at Trip Central who went above and beyond to make this a fabulous holiday and 60th Birthday Celebration! Thank you! All in all a fabulous resort! The Level is a must. We will be back!
