Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Nice new hotel

We stayed at the Bella Vista for a week and we don't have any complaints. The beach was amazing, the pools were perfect. There was lots of activities during the day both at the pool and the beach. Kids club was awesome and had activities everyday for the kids. The rooms were large and clean. Beds were comfy. In the evening there is a large deck at the back of the hotel off the main lobby. Bar service was excellent. We had great service so we tipped to show our appreciation. Food was good with a  [... read more]large selection. We will definitely go back to the Bella Vista.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Sub par for a four star

Hotel design unique ocean view from all rooms was a big selling feature to us that didn't disappoint, now I have been to cuba 12 times in the last 5 years so I have a fair idea what level service to expect, biggest problem was buffet and ala cartes food in buffet was not bad presentation good until you got to cleanliness, plates were disgusting dirty all of them!, manager says broken dishwasher well sorry clean them by hand no excuse, tables never cleaned after use a quick wipe with a napkin o [... read more]r back of their hand it makes you wonder how clean pots and pans in kitchen were oh and no a/c in buffet according to one in the know said it was like that for a year Ala cartes for the Italian and Cuban were disgusting at best, they were in the pool snack bar bird crap everywhere chairs rarely cleaned off tables were cleaned with a small rag bird crap wiped off one table right to the next one never seen sign of soap or water it was unbelievable enough about food now I usually overlook a lot off crap but not this time no hot water for two weeks in our room couldn't open balcony door hit and miss on clean sheets and towels not a biggy but worth mentioning, drinks were watered down noticeably el mojito lounge bar no mojitos lol beach was amazing but the water in front of resort was full off sea grass after being to cayo coco the beautiful green blue of the ocean was sadly missed this water was black and most people did not like to walk in it will not return.

JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar: Beautiful Resort and Great People

Recently back from Iberostar Grand Hotel Bavaro. Everything from start to finish was just wonderful. The cold towels on arrival with champagne, the lovely a la carte and buffet dinners. Buffet was our favorite. The pool and activities were great and even won at the bingo. Special thanks and shout out to Hansel, Luisa (our morning maid), Tobias, Hamlet (amazing beach service) and Robert (bartender at pool bar). This is our 2nd visit to the resort....and it was more impressive than the first time!! Even after the hurricane the resort looks amazing! Overall you will be very impressed by the service, the food and of course the beautiful beach.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Good for first timers

The resort is pretty new. However it’s starting to deteriorate already. I’d say in a year the place will be run down. It’s quiet and not much activities to engage the quests. The shows are not worth seeing. There is no dance in the evening despite the big empty theatre. They have music in the pool and beach area only during the day time but that could be brought to the lobby during the evenings considering there is no night entertainment. The food is better than other resorts we’ve been to however it appears as though they recycle through certain food items and there is hygiene issue both contributing to gastroenteritis either vomiting or diarrhea or both. Avoid the buffet and salads and resort to the grilled food and fries. Even at the bar they use the same cloth to wipe the glasses then counter top and use their unwashed hands to handle fruits that go into the drinks. Bartenders are overworked and you have to wait a long time to get served. The excursions are expensive given their high convertible currency. You’ll have to sacrifice all of the above for the beautiful beach and the ocean.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Great resort to relax!

The resort overall is excellent, staff are very nice and the beaches are super! The resort covers a lot of activities and it was spacious and nice and clean. The fishing by the beach or snorkeling are amazing! The water are so clean and we saw many different sea creatures just by the shore itself. The only disappointment is the food, to be specific the hygiene. The chefs used the same cooking utensils for both raw and cooking food and there were flies all around. Luckily I read the review  [... read more]before going and prepared all kinds of medicine, my family of 4 all caught diarrhea after the first day. Must prepared your own medicine or first aid kit. And remember to bring enough sunscreen lotion, the hotel store didn't sell it, we brought 3 and used them all up before our one week vacation and there is nowhere you can buy it. Other than that, the staff are very entertaining and they all work hard, from the reception, the restaurants, the pool, the beach, the show and the cleaning staff. They are all very friendly and show their best to give us a relax and comfort holidays.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: great resort

the grounds were well kept the buffet breakfast and lunch were repetitive but i think you get that at most all inclusive but there was allways something for everyone . the dinners were theme different each night wed was dominican shrimp and lobster the al acarte were good there are 3 . the staff were very helpful and polite the house keepers were very good but we did tip them 5.00 per day the room was good but we did have an o/v the hot water and pressure was good the mini bar restocked every  [... read more]day . the beach was nice some seaweed to deal with but the beach was cleaned every morning ,beach vending people once you say no thanks they move on,the ocean was always very warm talk about free epsom salts bath. lots of lapaplas and loungers don't have to go early in morning to get one.

It really was a great expérience.I was worry being our first trip to Cuba but it turns up to be more that I was expected to be. The pictures that I find on internet reflects the reality. The personal was always with a happy face and always ready to serve you. The main lobby- a big open space with bufet and a great view. If not, I don't think you can not find something to like(scrambled eggs in the morning, "pollo y pescado a la plancha"and salad if there is nothing else that you would like). The pools are great, clean and a nice bar in one of the pools. The beach- speechless Every night they have a show.Great wednesday show. The only think that I do not recommend is the excursions.We paid 245$ ( the kid was free to our luck) to swim with the delphins.Very very bad experience- shourtly : doesn' t worth it.And for seeing the corals- same thing. If I had not chosen that excursion and would have chosen instead to give a tip to people who work in the hôtel, at least half of what we paid on the excursion, I would definitely have been happier. We would definitely go there next time.

Iberostar Waves Punta Cana: 1st time

The hotel was amazing. When we first booked in it was a long wait and when we finally registered we did not receive a lot of info so we had to go back twice to get all the instructions, but the staff was ok once we got it straightened around. The rooms themselves were clean, spacious and cool as soon as we entered. The food was plentiful, well displayed and delish. The ocean was a bit disappointing as it was rougher than I expected and the seaweed was overwhelming. The pool was fantastic and w [... read more]e enjoyed the whole week lazing about dreaming.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Overall good experience

Overall good , grounds beautiful , Beach wonderful. Food ok for Cuba . Rooms clean , little outdated , BUT bathrooms are brand new , great showers! Place clean , stuff friendly,and evening entertainment very good .

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Fantastic Resort

We had an amazing trip. We were in building 17, a perfect location to both the pool and beach. The service and entertainment was excellent. Shouts out to Charli, Peke and Jaqueline. We will definately be returning to this resort. Great beach, great food, service and entertainment

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Amazing beach

Beach was beautiful; white sand, clear water and lots of tropical fish to view when snorkeling. The staff was very friendly and fun. The rooms were good; comfortable bed and thick walls (quiet). The food sucked though. The only decent food was at the Japanese restaurant.

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Had a really good time

Rooms were nice, cleaning staff very friendly, food very good. Entertainment good, especially the pool and beach crew. Angel and Chocolate had us laughing the whole week, and the bar staff kept our cups full. Overall a really nice experience.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: A few hiccups but a good time

This was my 4 th time to Cuba , recently 8 of us stayed at this hotel july6-13,2018. When we arrived we were able to have one room ready since rooms are not available until 4 pm . By 2 pm the second room was available and the bell boy was very helpful moving us into our rooms. The rooms were clean and the maid service was awesome ( we tipped very well and left gifts daily) . My room had the air conditioner that was mounted to the wall ( long rectangle vent) leak out water which was hard to see o [... read more]n the white tile floor and yep my friend slipped on it and fractured her arm 4 days into the trip!! The Maintence guy came and fixed it but the damage was done already. The main problem with this hotel was that we had NO hot water for 5 days!!!! Try taking showers in cold water , not fun lol the entire hotel was affected. The problem was the entire tanks needed to be replaced through out the hotel. So it took time to order parts and install we get it and understand things happen out of our control...its Cuba ! The grounds were well maintained and since this is a smaller resort things were easy to access too. The beach is absoutley beautiful but, entering the water there is rocks here and there for the first 30 feet . I found if u enter the water further down the beach u get no rocks . I had cut my foot open and was close to getting stitches. So overall we had a couple hiccups but the hotel was quick to fix anything and were awesome staff. Sometimes situations occur and its out of our control but I bet you now they have one awesome hot water system put in. The trip was good dispite a fractured arm, cut foot and cold showers . Some Off he items we bright for gifts were nail polish, make - up, hair accessories , crayons, toothpaste and toothbrushes, hats, and what they all wanted was our bubba mugs . The staff loved the water bottles so next time I will bring more. One thing that people travelling here should bring is bug spray . the mosquitos can bite and they honestly itch for days and swell , so pack the bug spray , after bite and Benadryl they loved me , but didn't touch anyone else in our group. Let's talk about food. Cuba is not known to have great tasting food so I recommend pack your ketchup and spices . This resort has hot dogs, pizza, pasta , chicken hamburgers ( which were gross) daily . We found the food to be very repitive . The la cartel restaurants were good . They have one restaurant that they use for la carte dinners and rotate the restaurant nightly ie) Monday Cubain, Tuesday Italian etc.. We had fun and made the best out every situation and enjoyed our stay even with broken bones!

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great, small resort

Small resort. 40 min bus ride from airport. Travelled with a 1 and 4yo. Had crib, and pullout couch made up in ground floor, quiet room, as requested. Grounds are clean and well groomed. Buffet was fantastic. This is my fourth time in Cuba and by far the food here was the best. Fresh fish and prawns every day. The fresh fruit was delicious. Mangoes were very tasty. Morning fresh juice was great. Some variations at the buffet everyday. Pool was ok; we preferred the beach. Many covered chairs  [... read more]to choose from. Drink service on beach too. Entertainment was good, we enjoyed the music at the lobby bar. Tip well! Cubans still only make 20CUC a month. Your tips will be very appreciated.

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Good resort.

Overall the resort was good. Clean and staff was very courteous. Rooms were ok. First time I see life guards on duty, that was nice to see. Entertainment was very good. Very energetic and fun. Food was fantastic. We were there with a wedding party. Lot's of fun. Only real issue was the fact that we had a couple of people had allergies (silliac) to certain foods and for the first couple of days it seemed like it was a bother to the staff. Staff were amazing - very polite and helpful. Food was excellent - lots of variety (except for my roomate - she is gluten free) this resort and other would need to have a gluten free section Rooms were cleaned and if we needed anything like extra blanket/water - it was provided in a timely manner Close to the airport. - nice feature as well

Iberostar Rose Hall Beach Resort - Although I advised them ahead of time of my serious gluten allergy it was really hit and miss. Most of the time the servers had no idea what gluten was. Some chefs were great and accommodated and others weren't interested. Are patio had a nice view but it was a solid stucco wall versus posts/railings which means there was no air circulation and we couldn't sit on it. When we asked to be moved to a room with a patio with posts they advised it was an upgrade  [... read more]and it would cost $40 per night yet others in our party got a room with a patio with posts and there was no extra charge. Rooms were very cold and we couldn't adjust the temperature.

Pros: amazing beach and large rooms Cons: rooms in need of an update, everyone got travellers diarrhea, items stolen from our rooms and subpar service In short, it is not worth the money. I have been to this resort before and the quality has declined. It was very disappointing.
