Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Great resort
Stayed at this resort over ten years ago. Great vacation overall! Decided to visit again. Still great resort friendly staff but was really disappointed with the food. First time I ever got sick and we travel quite a bit. Couldn’t even get a banana! Fruit loops was the only cereal there. One of the waitresses brought us bananas from her home. Friendly staff, everything else great but will not revisit!
Tryp Cayo Coco: Better than expected
It's Cuba so expectations were low, but we were pleasantly surprised. It's clean, though the plumbing causes some occasional smells. Friendly staff. Fantastic beach. Cabana grill great place for lunch
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Amazing resort
It was our second time there and it did not disappoint us. Great location. Very good food. Outstanding service. Amazing beach. Lots of entertainment throughout the day including bands, dancers, and piano players. It is nice to have the four restaurants available as well as the buffet for evening dinner. The only drawback I found was we could only get the 8:30 sitting for all of them which meant we missed some of the evening shows. Otherwise, everything was good.
Melia Jardines del Rey: Great trip!!
A bit of a lengthy review but hope you appreciate the info. This was my family's first trip to the Melia Jardines Del Rey. We had a great trip and would return to this resort. It is a large resort and there is quite a bit of walking distance to amenities depending which block your room is located. It didn't bother us but I would suggest a room in blocks 10-19 to be central to pools, food etc. The room was adequate, clean and maid service was good. Each room has a safe, iron, ironing board, [... read more]
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Melia
Very nice, very clean. A bit of a distance to beach but once there absolutely stunning. Food was mediocre but always something suitable. Workers very nice. Cleaning staff did good job but were very bold in asking for things. Gardeners do incredible work. Under appreciated.
Melia Marina Varadero: Deception
The GOOD and the BAD... GOOD: Great beach, great pool (nice and clean), nice restaurant at the beach, clean room, nice view. MEDIOCRE: Not enough shade at the pool and beach. Uncomfortble chaires at the beach. BAD: Once there was no more beer at the beach bar, once there was no more ice, once there was no more red wine at the loundge and often there was no white wine ON the resort. FOOD. It was our 7th time in Cuba, second time in Varadero but as my wife says, it was probably the worst [... read more]
Memories Cayo Largo: Quiet resort, cats included!
The perfect hotel for a quiet, chill, relaxing vacation. Rooms are pretty standard for Cuba, service is excellent, food above average. Beach is narrow but beautiful and not too busy. If you're looking for more calm than party atmosphere, this is the place for you. If you like cats, even better! There are plenty of felines eager for attention. It was fairly easy for Mom, who walks with a cane, to get around. I would definitely recommend this resort.
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Nice Resort
Beautiful grounds! Well kept. The beach is amazing. One of the best! Some of the lounge chairs need to be replaced but the friendly lifeguards work hard to ensure you have a good one. The staff are nice and friendly. The rooms need some work. We were in a couple and found they had a damp smell. The sliding door would not work. But we decided as long as we could lock them and not use the little patio we would not complain. The bathroom needs a lot of work. Lots of hot water and pressure making fo [... read more]
Melia Jardines del Rey: Ok Resort
Need to upgrade, make sure Beach towels are available. Snack Bar staff are rude. Too many mosquito in the room.Toilet not working. Didn’t see anyone cleaning the pool in the morning for 5 days. Beach bar are so small and limited.
Melia Jardines del Rey: Just ok
Service was slow at all restaurants, had to wait for cutlery and drinks. Especially the restaurant by the beach, the staff just chatting amongst themselves and we had to get our own cutlery, napkins and water. And if you asked the staff, they would take ten minutes before bringing anything. The pools in the lobby attracted mosquitoes so that was bad! Bring your own towels as we waited 3 days to finally get them! They should have them in the rooms when guests arrive. Very far walk to the bea [... read more]
Melia Las Americas: Beautiful- Exceeded expectations!
The hotel pool areas were beautiful and well maintained. Beach was immaculate. We had booked a suite in the Level section. It’s a must! Gorgeous, spacious and modern. Excellent beds and selection of pillows. Walk in rain shower. Level section also had two private air conditioned lounge areas with premium alcohol and snacks. El Limincillo restaurant is beautiful and beachside- a fabulous quiet place for breakfast and lunch with amazing capucinno. Beach and pool areas had service. Public toile [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Beautiful
The resort was gorgeous and very clean, almost all the staff were personable and provided top notch service. The housekeeping staff were great but the hotel room was very musty due to the humidity and the AC, my only other issue was the food, not great however I understand the economic issues with that and I knew that prior to going. The excursions were the highlight, amazing experiences and fantastic tour guides. All in all a wonderful vacation
Paradisus Varadero: Be careful about which section you book
We were very disappointed with the accommodations in the older, unrenovated section. The stained tub, ratty shower curtain and lack of a proper shower head were a nuisance. But the fact that the air-conditioning did not work made our stay intolerable. After multiple complaints we were upgraded to the Family concierge section, which was a vast improvement. Lovely, clean, modern and working A/C!
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Nice resort but not 5 star
The A La Cartes were very good. Lots of variety from Japanese, Italian, Cuban, etc cuisine. The buffet was disappointing. Food displays were unappealing with limited choices. The omelette for breakfast was the highlight here. The room was musty and air conditioning was not working well. Did not get fresh towels and new drinks every day. Bed linen was not fresh. Most staff were friendly. The pool and beach areas were very nice. Gardens were well maintained.
Melia Las Antillas: Paradise Perfect
Everything is just perfect. The facilities the food and particularly the great staff. The fact that it is between both Varadero and Havana is great. One of the best beaches in Varadero the flight by Sunwing was trouble free and on time.
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Resort is beautiful
This hotel had beautiful grounds, pools very nice, clean and spacious, everything close by, beautifully gardened paths and walk ways, main dining buffet clean and spacious, speciality restaurants nice- however most of the time book and also on the select menu a lot of items not available, food was okay but if you have any type of food restrictions very hard to get something to eat. Staff very friendly and helpful (always pleasant and smiling) wonderful people :) we had an awesome stay here but t [... read more]
Melia Santiago: Very good hotel
For a center town hotel, it is amazingly accessible to many of the museums and attraction places in Santiago de Cuba, If you like to walk. The staffs are very helpful and professional. The room was clean and bed comfortable. The breakfast was very good with a variety of meal for every taste. The only thing, the coffee was not strong enough for those of us who like strong coffee. However when request espresso was promptly serve.
Melia Las Antillas: Great place!
Hotel services are very good and hommy. Overall, it was worth every penny. I must say Hotel staff are amazing! We had such great time there. Well , a ceiling light was dead in our room, but it doesn’t bother us. Most of time, we didn’t even in the room. We spent most of our time in The beach and other activities. Oh the toilet in our room had a bit trouble when flush, other than that everything is great!
Sol Varadero Beach: Beautiful Hotel, Awful Service
We stayed at this hotel for one week (first time in Cuba), and we found the resort lovely. It's right by the beach which was a bonus. It's beautiful and well maintained and also very safe. However, the service we received was terrible. We decided to eat at the snack bar most of the time because we didn't care for the buffet (no flavour, not appetizing), and we would have to wait approx. 20 mins just to get a hot dog. Half the time they didn't even have their full menu (hamburger, hot dog, ham & [... read more]
Sol Cayo Coco: Amazing Service
It might be an older resort however the people who work there more than make up for it. Never had such friendly and helpful service. Special thanks to Elvis in the buffet. The beaches were fabulous and always a chair available. Food was good for Cuba and our room was always well supplied and clean. We definitely would go back.
