Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: mixed Review
The staff is great. The property is excellent. Our building had no hot water for two days, our friends in another building had no hot water for two weeks. The buffet and a la carte restaurants had no wine. The food at the buffet was fine except for the beef and pork. The only a la carte restaurants that were good were the Cuban and the Japanese. We were here 3 years ago and thought that we would try it again as it was great the last time.
Muthu Playa Varadero: Average resort
Old building, rooms was clean but had ants. Wall was damaged. Food was average. Great beach!! Had a parc for kids with play structure. not enough staff at the buffet dining room. Great pool for kids
Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Overall good experience
The hotel itself is in pretty good shape, the location, the way the grounds are laid out everything is in good proximity etc. We were booked into the relax area which was nice, there was pool and restaurant specifically for those who purchased this option which was nice but we were disappointed in that they would not let our 17 year old son into the restaurant because technically he is a child. Really? Beach is great and most days enough loungers to go around, pool areas are nice although not en [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Disappointimg Trip
Their a lack of hot water, and food appeared to be recycled and rather tasteless in the main cafeteria. The same food was served in both restaurants and steak not properly trimmed and no steak knives. There was not the same varieties of liquor or food that was present in previous stay. Had to pay for 2hr delay checkout on 9PM flight. The staff, with the exception of the room maid, were not as friendly as on previous stay. Tour trip cancelled with no notice until an hour after we were scheduled [... read more]
Melia Internacional: Resort was Fine
I think Melia Internacional in Varadero was a very nice looking hotel. The most amazing thing about it was definitely the rooms. The rooms were spacious, very clean and confortable. They also had a very nice design, lights and a lot of ammenities. However, the hotel in general was missing staff, and also was missing an ambiance. Music was not very present, only at the pool or at the beach during the time of activities. Cuba is known to be a very festive country, but it was not felt at the reso [... read more]
Starfish Jibacoa: cheap and cheerful
the hotel has well-kept grounds and a small army of groundskeepers. all the staff were friendly and helpful and did their best to cope with the shortages that beset our week [generally blamed on the new embargoes enacted by trump]. as a three-star resort, it probably comes low down on the pecking order for resupply. we experienced, at various times, absences of bacon, red wine, dark rum, & coffee! food was plentiful and basic, but the freshly grilled fish and [strangely] calves liver were delici [... read more]
Muthu Playa Varadero: good time
This resort is transitioning at the moment. The resort over all is great. But a lot of updating needed still. Refridgerators in rooms not working, Dining room hours for Buffet do not compliment hours of snack bar closing. ie Buffet opens at 630pm while Snack bark closes at 6pm. I think that the buffet should open at 530. Food was good at this resort. Service was ok. Im surprised... Ususally service staff is more hospitable.
Melia Marina Varadero: Melissa Marina Varadero
The hotel was nice, clean, with efficient helpful staff which made the stay highly enjoyable. It was my son’s first all inclusive resort and he thoroughly enjoyed himself. He cannot wait to go back!! The food was average to good, however there was always an abundance of options and the staff was efficient at accommodating special requests and ensuring the meal was cooked to the wellness desired. We both loved the restaurant overlooking the Ocean and were present for lunch opening ever [... read more]
Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Nice resort
Rooms - oceanview was large and clean. Great views Food - probably the best we have seen in Cuba. Snack bar and 2 a-la-cartes were above-average. Missing fries and orange juice on some days, but not a deal breaker for us. Staff - very good service Beach - Main reason to go to Varadero Lobby and bars - lobby would sometimes have live entertainment and the Cohiba bar was nice as well. We would definitely recommend a stay at this resort.
Hotel Los Cactus: resort was great
The food was typical Cuban food . You could always find something to eat. Workers were very helpful . Resort was clean. Our maid was amazing. she helped us with places to go . phone calls . places to eat I would go back . Things to note, they do not stock your fridge every day with beer or rum if this is important to you. Over all a great trip.
Melia Internacional: Wonderful vacation
The Melia Internacional is a beautiful, well-cared for hotel! The staff are all very friendly, well trained and professional! The buffet restaurants offered a lot of great options. I would highly recommend this property!
Melia Internacional: The best in Varadero hands down
Stayed in Varadero for a week with some friends & can't complain at all. We've been to Cuba before but this resort takes the cake. Staff are extremely helpful all around. Maids are friendly and take their time cleaning the rooms corner to corner. We're pretty picky when it comes to the cleanliness and condition of rooms but these ones exceeded our expectations. Everything is pretty much brand new, the bathrooms are pretty high end and beds are very comfortable. Only con with the rooms are the fa [... read more]
Melia Peninsula Varadero: Beautiful Resort
The Resort was beautiful, clean and nicely kept. Not sure if was because of the season but there was lack of staff. At the beginning of our stay, there were not many waitresses/waiters in the main buffet rooms. Also rooms were made up very late into the day. But in the last 3 days, we noticed an increase of staff and faster service. The team in the kids club were great. My kids had a blast. The rooms were clean, pools, washrooms were all clean. The people are super friendly, regardless if they [... read more]
Sol Varadero Beach: Great resort
The hotel was great! Excellent service from all the staff, comfortable and modern looking rooms, beautiful and well kept beach made lounging around a daily habit and everything was so easily accessible.
Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Good resort!
The landscape on this resort was beautiful. People working hard on it every day. The resort is nice and the food was super tasty! The beach was incredible. Very clean and crystal clear. The rooms are small and out dated but they were clean. Remember, this is a third world country so do not expect the elegant room you would find in Canada or the U.S. We had a great time and seems to be one of the nicer resorts.
Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Great Vacation
We recently stayed at the Playa Alameda in Varadero. All in all it was a great vacation. The staff are friendly and helpful. The first room we were given unfortunately had a bad mold smell and was quite damp. After a few days we were able to switch rooms. The second one we were offered was excellent. Very clean and bright. The resort is a great size, not too big. Night life was great. Lots of activities offered. We would go back!
Los Delfines: Nice cozy resort
First time at this resort. The staff was friendly but the front desk reception wasnt very informative. The food was good and lots of selection, a'la cart was really good and the waiter was very entertaining. The room was down the road with our own private pool and our room wasnt cleaned for the first two days with no fresh towels or toilet paper. But despite all that I liked the location and the price. Will book again there next year.
Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Not bad!
It was a nice place always have to consider that Cuba is poor, the staff was good, the food was good, No Kleenex, you have to ask for face cloths, no coffee pots in the rooms no elevators all stairs Overall it was ok was on my bucket list glad I went
Melia Varadero: Nice Resort
Resort grounds are a bit on the smaller size than most Caribbean resort, but this hotel did the job nonetheless, we upgraded to the level section which is recommended, we wanted something we got it, service was fast and always available, spoke to other guest not on The level and their experience was different mostly due to weather out of 10 days we had sun for 3 so a lot of days we were inside which the resort interior is small as well so it led to busy common areas. Our experience was nice it w [... read more]
Starfish Jibacoa: Great value
Our second year at the resort saw some improvements especially with the beach loungers. There are plenty of them now and they are in good condition. There also seemed to be a better meat selection this year with good pork readily available for many meals. Our main reason for selecting this resort is the great snorkeling right from the beach. Unfortunately the weather was not as cooperative this year but the reef doesnt disappoint when it is accessible. As one of only two resorts in the area i [... read more]
