Melia Costa Rey: Lovely Resort

This resort was nice for a cheap getaway. The rooms were nice and kept very clean. Staff were all very friendly. Food was typical for Cuba. Plenty of it but some of it not very good quality. However the specialty restaurants were excellent. French was our favorite. Service in there was amazing and the three musicians were very entertaining and talented. Could play anything!! We had some issues with the water pressure. We could not flush our toilet for the first day and a half and the [... read more]n we were upgraded to another room. It seems this is sometimes a problem.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Good resort, a little dated

Resort clean, but rooms a little dated, staff friendly, and helpful, Selection of Food good, Coffee maker but no coffee ? Pool area clean, bar staff good, some better than others Entertainment in lobby at night excellent, great selection

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Paradise with approvement needed

Lets start this review ! Resort checkin: upon arrival we were dropped off to front lobby and right away can see the amazing scenery, ocean from lobby , greeted with the friendliest staff and had our room ready within minutes . Room : our room was 9205 which was the upgraded ocean view ! The room was absolutely gorgeous , beds were extremely comfortable , rooms were spacious and clean , the view was outstanding and gorgeous . The only negative comment I have is , the maid took forever to c [... read more]lean our rooms . Our rooms were never stocked with coke / water and sometimes weren’t cleaned till 430-5PM. If you want a afternoon nap/ shower , good luck as you won’t have clean towels or anything . We had to beg the front desk to stock our fridges with what we want , also were forced to go to snack bar a lot late at night to fill up if thirsty ... how sad .Also our room had no soap all week ! They gave us a bath bomb and assumed its soap and we’d wash our hands with this all week . Food: the food at the resort comes close to a 1 star ! The main buffet was closed , forcing majority of our guests to go and eat at grand muthu next door ... that’s kind of sad !!! We know it’s slow session , but come on .... you could at least have the a la cartes open and feed us every evening in there ... especially for a 5 star !!!! Also they had no fries at one point and were feeding us hash browns ! Food was always cold and undercooked ... Drinks were phenomenal if made by Joan at the sports bar that’s the only positive aspect that came close to 5 star ... majority of the a la cartes were closed , everyone was forced to eat from a small menu at snack bar and live off that all week.. Pool: the infinity pool was filthy and dirty and had residue floating in it majority of the time . When we spoke to staff they stated it was people’s drinks spilled .. I believe it’s dirt / sun lotion build up and other filth . Entertainment : everything closes at 11:00PM and the resort has no nightlife what so ever . The shows are at 9:30 and end at 10:00 forcing majority of people to head to bed early. The resort also has no DJ / music and nightlife or dancing either . They expected us to pay 5cuc each and every time we wanted enjoyment which was either a pool party / club few Kms away from bus . Would I return ? Absolutely yes because the staff make your experience outstanding . I can’t thank Joan , Joan Ramon , Rogervis, llamy at snack bar and everyone for making the trip excellent . The grounds are breathtaking and well kept and feel highly luxurious . Management needs to take a control on their food and negative comments as everyone was starving and upset . That’s all !

Melia Cayo Coco: Good for cuba!

Service, staff attitude, food, and cleanliness of the rooms and facilities are excellent. Would go again. And here is the rest of my required 200 characters....why does this review forum make me do this? Shame on tripbcentral.

Sol Cayo Coco: Great value for your buck$

Clean and well maintained resort with friendly staffs. Had a great time staying at Sol Cayo Coco. Foods and drinks are above average, no complaints at all. Entertainments are enough to keep you occupied. I would recommend this resort to all my friends.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: amazing resort

very nice clean resort., the weather was excellent, entertainment was very good.the staff was very friendly and helpful,if you want to get lots of sun and to just relax this is the perfect resort to go.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Could be Better

We stayed 9 days last week of May at this resort. Beautiful grounds, good layout, nice beach (but a little windy thru our stay with no fault of the hotel) and I must say the rooms very good. We stayed in 62** with an excellent ocean view, the best bed, pillows and shower we have ever had in a hotel in Cuba (note this was our 7th visit). Food was our main disappointment and for this reason would not go back. The hotel was not at capacity (the weekends they actually had many Cuban families staying [... read more] in the resort more so than tourists) so the beach restaurant was closed. They have a 24 hr snack bar but only serve hotdogs, ham cheese sandwich and one other....everyday....all day. They as well have fries and ice cream which ended up being a nice treat once in awhile and an afternoon cappuccino was always good too . The main buffet is very small compared to other resorts we have been to and for a resort this size I could see this as a huge issue in busy season. The food was the pretty much the same everyday with very little variety. Some items that you saw at breakfast were still there at dinner. Needless to say we did not starve but pretty much ate the same items everyday for the entire stay. A few mornings too the buffet did not have the air conditioning running....although they had the front doors open....this just allowed more flies to enter the building and with no air circulation was very uncomfortable. The staff were all very nice.....always a smile on their face and happy to see you each day!! This trip has not turned us off Cuba....it really is one of our favorite Caribbean islands.....mainly because of the short travel distance, excellent beaches and the Cuban people. I would not go back to this resort our recommend to a friend as I have with past stays, but I can promise we will go back to Cayo Coco Cuba hopefully again this fall!!

Food is amazing, they had everything we needed, there were always chicken, pork, beef, fish,shrimps, calamari and mussels on the grill for lunch and dinner Pasta station was good as well They had a nice smoothie station for breakfast with all kind of fruits Room: was not as great as in the pictures Lobby : is a very nice area to relax and have a drink with the amazing beach view Mosquitoes is the worst thing there even though we sprayed off

Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Low season

Good place to kiting. Beach is clean. Personnel is gentle. Pool was clean. The buffet place too but the quality of food was very poor. Many times it was warm or cold. My room was ok. But in many rooms was bugs water on the floor conditioner air difficulties. Many bugs on the resort

Hotel Camino del Mar: Melia Cayo Guillermo

We enjoyed a 7 day vacation here in March 2019 and had a great time. Our room was clean and had a great view of the ocean and we only experienced some minor issues with the toilet. The a la carte meals were excellent however there could have been improvements with the atmosphere for these. The main buffet had a great selection of fresh food with many cooks at stations ready to prepare the dish to your liking. The main buffet was very warm however the manager of the hotel who was highly visib [... read more]le and very friendly assured us they were aware and working on fixing the A/C. We didn't have any issue finding chairs on the beach and the beach entertainment was great and they had their volume (for music) at a respectable level. The resort entertainment was excellent, especially in the lobby. The theatre shows were a bit repetitive and they need to encourage more engagement from the crowd (more interactive shows). The pool bar was very disappointing as there wasn't a bartender dedicated to it and the amount of noise and water from the overhead waterfall was annoying. The pool liner was ripped however they have plans to replace it. There is a ton of maintenance taking place at the resort and they have made excellent improvements since the hurricane. The health bar with fresh smoothies was awesome and Alejandro was so personable.

Only public washrooms need more cleaning. Special bay swimming pools and bars. I never had problems with towels. Food was ok. Staff are super very friendly special entertainment staff Charlie, Choco, Amazing Amhed, Baby Junior and Dairel.Thank you gays for having god time. See you soon.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: You can try it

I stayed here May 19th 30th 2019. Front desk service was excellent and professional . Not every resort can see this. Customer service good but get a TV remote control what it really works takes 5 days. That's okay I get only one channel by manually I did not go to Guillermo watch TV in the room. It is a older resort the buildings are good shape. Room always clean nice no complain. Melia Costa Rey: Wonderful vacation!

We had a restful and relaxing vacation at The Pullman. Loved the layout of the resort and the constant breeze, especially in the lobby area and lounge. Although a few improvements are needed it didn't impact our trip. It did seem as though there were rations in place however as you couldn't always get things regularly as they would run out of the products such as fresh fruit, mint etc.

Hotel Playa Coco: Wonderful vacation

My family and I had a wonderful 10 day vacation at hotel playa coco. Everyone that worked there was amazing. Friendly and helpful. The entertainment crew and dancers went above and beyond to put on a great show every night. The food was great. We always found something good to eat. The beach was stunning. We saw many fish swimming right close to the shore. Room was comfortable. Ac worked amazing. Water pressure and temperature was great. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Very nice resort!!!

This resort was very clean and well maintained! I found the staff very friendly and happy!! Zoe our day server at coffee bar was amazing and so nice and efficient!!! Hat’s off to Zoe keep up the good work!!And in the same breathe the evening bartenders were a little lazy sorry to say! More fixed with cell phones and chatting then serving they need a Zoe course!! All in all food was as I expected and the beach was perfect! Thank you Memories !!! I’ll be back!!

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: 7th visit not disappointed

We have returned to this resort for our 7th visit. The 1st thing that happened when we arrived at the hotel. We were met by management, to welcome us back. We had requested a specific room and early check in. Both these request were met. The Hotel staff are one of the main reasons we return. Very helpful and happy to see you. ---------- PROS - SMALL RESORT let me move around with my limited mobility. I saw many other people with canes, young and old who also appreciated that everything was very close to the room - AMAZING LOCATION. This hotel is on the bus tour that brings you to Playa Pilar and to other resorts for shopping and the open top double decker is fun to ride on it's own. - LOVELY STAFF (those that hadn't turned complacent) were amazing. It's always humbling to meet people who work so hard in t [... read more]he service industry (six days a week) and still manage to be kind and genuinely smiling and friendly. - TOP NOTCH ENTERTAINMENT, every member of the entertainment team was always smiling and happy, ready to joke and play and bring you into some fun play time. - GOOD RESTAURANTS. We ate at the Cuban and Mexican restaurants. The staff was very gracious and accomodating and allowed us to be seated early on both nights. ---------- CONS - SHOWING WEAR AND TEAR. Nothing stays broken; everything that needs to be repaired seems to be. There was a brand new part of the boardwalk between the beach restaurant and the beach, but another part of it was corded off because it had collapsed at some point. The rails on our balcony were secure and looked like they are getting the maintenance they need to be safe. On the other hand, small things that have had constant wear and tear aren't being replaced (bathroom mirror in our room), the coffee machine in the lobby is missing buttons and knobs and the one at the pool bar was broken on two occasions while we were there. - COFFEE (espresso/cafe con leche) was one of the major disappointments. It was really hit and miss depending on who served it. It was stretched out and terribly weak at the lobby bar but much better at the pool bar. - CLEANLINESS suffers terribly at this resort. Our room was always clean but I think they must be short staffed as the walls in the ladies stalls in the lobby bathroom are desperately in need of a good cleaning, and the same spots and streaks that were plain to see on my first day there (beside and behind the toilet and under the toilet paper dispenser) were still there one week later. Given that they don't notice or attend to the areas around the toilet I'm pretty sure nobody is going around cleaning doorknobs or toilet latches. Bring hand sanitizer. - POLITICS among the staff members. Petty things like a bartender making a point of showing his colleague that he was putting the tip I gave him in a jar and a waitress looking around before accepting a tip. - FOOD was probably the biggest reason I won't recommend this place. At every meal my husband and I wondered if what we were going to eat would make us sick. Stick to the food made to order at the grill. My husband saw a cockroach hanging around the prepared salads the third night we were there and not long after I picked out a piece of cucumber that had fuzzy mold on it. We both flew home with mild diarrhea and I still don't feel completely recovered (2 days later) - NOISY AND BRIGHT in the room at night. We were put in a room right above the lobby so we had front row for everything that was going on in the lobby from 8 pm till at least midnight, including the typical party people noise as well as the marching band that trooped everyone from the lobby to the show one night. I considered asking for a different room but didn't want to risk spending the energy moving to another room that was dirty or had something broken so we stayed put and dealt with it. The brightness was from a gap around the door that ranged from between 1/4" at the top and sides to at least 1" at the bottom and from the air conditioning unit (that we were never able to adjust) ---------- OTHER - SUPER WINDY - we learned the reason this place was great for kite surfing - the wind was incessant and strong. One of the staff told us that May is typically windy so this might not be the case at other times of the year but after a day or two of the sound and feel of constant wind you start to yearn for silence and the sound of ocean waves. This was my fifth time to Cuba and it definitely won't be my last but I'll be sticking to the newer 5 star resorts from now on.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: One of Cuba's best

The last resort I went to in Cuba had a peeling pool, housekeeping who took the towels and didn't return, did not give toilet paper.. This place was amazing!! Clean, updated. Food was great, plentiful and there were vegetables! Bacon every day! Coffee always better at the bar. Always a lounge chair at the pool and at the beach. People always friendly and helpful. Shows were good. highly recommend

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Absolutely amazing!

Very clean/beautiful grounds/rooms. Option for smoke free. Food is amazing and staff goes above and beyond. Snack bar especially favourite for food and staff. Pools are clean, big. 11/10 for this hotel. 2nd time here and would go again!

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Very good for the price resort

The grounds are beautiful. It's very green as weĺl. There are palm trees and a lot of blooming flowers The rooms are big and there is everything that you may need and in good condition. Public areas are clean and well serviced. The beach itself is nice exept that there is a vegetation in the water . The hotel buildings are facing the beach and the view is awesome.
