Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Relaxing Time
While this was a smaller Melia resort, it was right beside the busier one so we could easily walk over anytime. The à la carte dinners were excellent and the buffet is typical. There are just 2 downsides being many « no-see-ems » which are tiny mosquitoes that you just cannot see and they leave welts and the long bus ride. To get there took us just 90 minutes but the return ride took a long 2.5 hours.
Melia Marina Varadero: Fare
No internet in room looks like you are disconnected from world if I knew there is no internet connection I never diside to go Cuba.In Varadero I went terminal to go Havana couldn’t use it because there was so dirty and unusable. Foods in Hotel not tasty.
Melia Las Antillas: Decent Resort
The resort was as I expected. Many of the servers at the bars, restaurants and cleaning were very friendly and helpful. The front desk staff could have been more helpful when asked questions about the resort and and areas around the resort. The resort itself was clean and well maintained, and I appreciated the short distance from the rooms to the beach. The food made on grills were good, but other foods were bland but manageable.
Paradisus Varadero: Resort with an awesome pool
-Nice grounds -Beautiful beach -Nicely landscaped -Fabulous pool with multiple depths. -Management staff did not have enough staff to staff the buffet however some of the staff provided excellent service. -Rooms were fine and well cleaned. They should designate a quiet area on the beach. The food was disappointing for a four and a half star resort it seemed to be more the type of food for a three and a half star resort however the snack bar was excellent.
Melia Peninsula Varadero: Would not recommend
Very run down and under a lot of renovations, some people had no hydro no hot water for days , made the best of our stay but would not return , worst resort I have ever stayed at in Cuba , could go on and on but just don’t go there !
Melia Marina Varadero: Amazing resort
Can't wait to go back ...amaxing place great staff....enjoyed the water the location and all the exciting things to do.my boyfriend and I had an awesome time ...wish the Wi-Fi was a bit better ...over all beautiful place to go
Hotel Camino del Mar: Amazing people, Beautiful beach
Considering this is one of the oldest resorts it is in good shape, I am sure this in part of their new manager Carlos. Carlos was always happy to see you, very helpful, goes above and beyond. The resort was clean, the staff is very friendly and the food was good. We had no complaints and will be returning next year
Paradisus Varadero: Overpriced & Overrated Hotel
Good: 1.lobby 2. Public washrooms 3. premises 4. Beach 5. Cleaning lady (Belkis) 6. Friendly lobby staff (Rita) 7. Courtesy room (30 min) on the last day to take a shower Bad: 1. Food in the buffet 2. Long waits to get to the buffet 3. No place to seat in the restaurant 4. Juices that taste like water in the buffet 5. Rude manager of the buffet (Manuel) who treats tourists like beggars . Some waiters in the buffet need to focus on their customer service 6. Too many elderly peopl [... read more]
Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Repeat Worthy Resort
Stayed at the Sol Rio de Luna y Mares in early Feb 2019. The resort was fantastic all the way around, the resort had a little something for everyone. The resort had 2 sections one being a little more quite then the other with a jazz bar and a laid back vibe, the other side was more upbeat and had most of the entertainment. Beach was fantastic, rooms where excellent and the staff where incredibly friendly and helpful, literally all of them. I’d consider becoming a repeat guest for the first tim [... read more]
Melia Las Americas: Amazing place, great people.
Rooms where fine .nice to see they are always trying to keep you comfortable. We loved the night time visits to turn down our beds and leave us a nice design from the towels. We also love how close we are to the golf course. We played 7 games during the 8 days we were there. Those guys and girls we just great. Planning another trip again. Can't wait to go back.
Sol Cayo Coco: Nice small resort.
Small older resort, conveniently located near the airport. Beautiful location and beach. Never a problem getting a beach chair. Rooms were always clean and staff was courteous. Unfortunately food variety was poor. There was an inconsistant availability of buffett, al-la-carte and pool bar foods even for Cuban standards. No beer for 2 days and charged for bottled premium beer during this time. Nice small resort community feel, great for evening socializing.
Melia Peninsula Varadero: We had a great time!
Teresa suggested this resort and I must say that our trip was great. The flight, the bus ride to the resort, the check-in..all went really well. We were quickly checked in by a very pleasant lady and within less than a 1/2 hour we were on the beach. The resort itself is beautiful; very lush with lots of vegetation. The gardeners were hard at work early in the morning raking, planting and keeping the area very tidy. Our room was very comfortable with an updated bathroom and shower. Furniture was [... read more]
Melia Jardines del Rey: Good resort
This was a good resort. A little big and can seem short staffed when the lobby fills up around the bar. The food was good and always something to eat at the 24hr restaurant. They ran out of bread there for about a day but I didn't find that such a big deal since they had tons of fries! The buffets are a little small for the amount of people they have to serve. They can seat everyone just fine though. They also have two buffets, one next to the other, exactly the same, but they only open one at 7 [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Fantastic Holiday
Awesome describes this resort. The staff were all wonderful and so friendly. We did not stay in the Royal Service area. There is no need as this resort is beautiful and staff accommodating on the regular side. We stayed in building 38 which is half way between the pool and the lobby. We could not hear noise from either when the entertainment was on. The lobby is massive and nightly had either a piano player or a Cuban group entertaining in the early evening. It was just so relaxing. We visiting [... read more]
Melia Las Dunas: execellent location

Sol Varadero Beach: Feb trip 2019
Hotel run down and has bugs.legs totally bitten..the quiet swimming pool has no safe ladder to get out of pool..i fell off and cracked my shin bone and bruised my wrist...food was repetative..only one a la carte open each night, so it was a rush to get in line everyday...there was a large group there so 2 days at 930 the a la carte was already full..no one speaks good English..and so many rude russians...can't believe we ran into maybe 5 couples who spoke english..beach was nice but sand fleas. Hotel Vigia: Very relaxing
Hotel is small and quiet. Never overcrowded in the buffet, beach or pools so lots of cgairs. Slmost impossible to book alacarte restaurants so i never tried them. Not too many activities so your kids need friends there or they will be bored. Rooms are clean but beds are very uncomfortable. No windows so you need to run AC which i found very cold at night but if you turned it off it was way too hot with the humidity. Staff was great and i loved the fresh coconut water you could get the staff to op [... read more]
Paradisus Varadero: Great time!
Had a wonderful week here. Room was clean, no hot water 2nd morning but it was fixed right away..The food was good, staff always friendly nobody bothering you for tips constantly. Forgot my book by the pool and the staff brought it to me the next day. Beach was nice but a little rocky to get in for swimming.
Melia Peninsula Varadero: Wonderful beach
The hotel felt a little old and rough around the edges, however it did not hinder us from having a great time. The staff was great, the pool was always clean, the beach was stunning. It was a wonderful relaxing week.
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great resort
Stayed in Veradero 6 times. This was the best resort. Holiday was to celebrate my friends 70th BD & we were upgraded to the Royal suites. Like having our own resort. Rooms were clean & lovely with jacuzzi tub. Enjoyed a private beach, smaller private buffet for breakfast & lunch. Staff were very friendly & obliging. The resort was quite spread out but staff assisted with golf carts. All restaurants had great decor & good variety of food. Entertainment staff &nightly shows weren’t as good as t [... read more]
