Valentin Perla Blanca: Great great value resort!

Just came back from this resort last week and I must say that it exceeded our expectations. The staff there was super friendly and very helpful. I cannot thank Abdel and Jesse from the buffet enough for the amazing time we had. I know that some people complain about the food quality in Cuba but tbh we always found something to our liking. Valentin Perla Blanca: Poor quality resort

The resort itself was okay but not amazing. It was clean but it is getting a bit old. The service was very bad as well as the food (bad even for Cuba). A lot of people got sick during their trip. The weather was nice all week thankfully but I was not generally pleased with this trip. We had a hard time to get clean towels. Internet is half working not that I needed it was frustrating not being able to see the kids. The beaches are nice but not clean. On the way there air transat had us wait in the plane for 2 hours. The highlight of the trip was the Buena Vista Social Club show...amazing!

Valentin Perla Blanca: Very nice resort

Great atmosphere very clean great rooms must say the communication aspect was not what i expected for example on the website it says no need for special plug ins well u do or else no curling iron for you food was fine the a la cartes were very good

Valentin Perla Blanca: Amazing resort

Hotel was very nice people on the resort were very nice. Very accommodating and made my special day amazing. The beach seemed to be quite a ways from where we were located so it was a hike daily. Also the pools towards the middle of the week became very cloudy and it made me not want to swim in them

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Awesome Holiday

Hotel was fabulous. Great size. Rooms clean. Pillows sucked. Bring your own if able. Beach was breathtaking. NO issues with finding chairs. Ran out of towels at times. Pool was clean and not too busy Food was edible. Typical Cuba food. Didn't starve!!! Bus ride from airport to resort about 1h45min. Ok when travelling during the daytime. Would definitely go back.

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Loved the Golden Tulip

My husband and I travelled to this resort April 18-25 with a few of our friends. First time to Cayo Santa Maria but 7th time to Cuba. It is a 2 hour drive from the airport but it went by quickly and I enjoyed the history told by our tour rep. I was very impressed with the layout of this resort. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The grounds were lush and beautiful. Food was as expected in Cuba. We did love the ham and cheese sandwiches at the snack bar and had one every evening. Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Beautiful resort!

I was very pleased with Ocean Casa del mar; the resort was modern, clean and beautiful. The staff went out of their way to make sure everything was good for you especially in the restaurants. Speaking of the restaurants; they were all very nice and the food was great too! The coffee shop had a wide selection of yummy coffees (hot, cold and with alcohol), there was a number of pastries available there also. The room was well equipped with an iron and board, mini bar, safe (free), coffee maker, hair dryer and flat screen tv with good cable. Beach towels were waiting in the room also. You can buy an internet card for one Cuban peso which will last you one hour.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: NICE RESORT

800 room resort that is divided into 2 section so it felt like 2 smaller resort, beach is great, working on the grounds to repair damaged after the latest hurricane, rooms nice and spacious, clean, staff are great and friendly, food a the buffet is ok but too repetitive.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Great time at Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria

Do not try to compare Cuba resorts with Mexico or Dominican you will be disappointed. Cuba is a world of its own. Resort was modern and clean all the basics. Beach was amazing and pool was beautiful. We had great weather April 17-24. Food was edible you will not starve. We enjoyed the French and Seafood restaurant the most good food but small portions. Drinks were not good if you wanted a piña colata, margarita etc. If you wanted rum and coke or gin and tonic make sure you get a good brand and you will be fine. All in all we had a good week and for the price would return again. If it was more expensive I would choose differently.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Very nice resort!

The beach was beautiful and the sun was very intense after so many days there, I understand why the Cubans wear clothing from head to toe. The beach was very rocky from the bar to the huts and was hard to walk so be careful of those white rocks hidden in the white sand as I stubbed and badly bruised my toe while there many times. Beach volleyball on the beach was a lot of fun and they would try and get you up and get you to exercise on the beach, thanks to the entertainment staff on the beach.  [... read more]There was two food hunts on the beach one that had hamburgers and one that had hotdogs and of coarse the bar with many choices of drinks and beer. Tried the hotdogs Panini style they were good but didn't try the hamburgers. The resort was very well kept by the grounds keepers, maids housekeeping and staff. The bus drivers, taxi drivers, the staff on the beach and sun wing tour guide all very helpful. The pizza oven was a treat to have where you could have a pizza prepared in front of you while you waited cooked on homemade pita bread, Snack bar open 24/7 as we arrived late Wednesday morning at 130am and was able to grab something to eat and drink before we went to bed. Cotton candy was a bonus but because of the humidity was melting as fast as we ate it but was a really nice treat. Pools very clean and a nice change from the beach and there were a lot of options for you to pick from. The entertainment was an assortment of performers always able to entertain you and the main lobby was always busy with panio, singers or something. You could also purchase wifi for a hour for 1.50 peso, but sometimes hard to get on internet not always available or to many people on at the same time. You could get on either in the lobby or at the snack bar. Was nice to be able to reach out to your family and be able to say you made it there and were having fun. The ala-carte were a nice change from the buffet, But the buffet you could always find something for you to choose from. Wished there was a few more options to shop at. We did go to nearest shopping area was very hot that day though make sure you are prepared with water and hat. They sell water big bottle at market for 3.50 peso. Was a little disappointed not to find large Cohiba (cigars) at the resort or at the duty free shop or at the airport but purchased small ones instead. There were a lot of excursions to choose from but we didn't do one this time as we just wanted to relax and enjoy the Vitamin D. Cubans spoke a lot of Spanish and French, and some spoke better English than others but we all managed. Enjoyable trip for sure.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Expected so much more

This is my honest review of Ocean Casa del mar in Cayo Santa María First the good: amazing beach and lots of lounge chairs and palapas available. Now with not so good- I requested a room with 2 beds and only got 1 king size on the lower level . Asked to switch and finally gave up after 3 days of asking managers at reception. Room keys constantly not working and patio door broken popped by a wooden stick ( main level room so no balcony)terrible view from room have pics to prove. Lack of clean beach towels so only got clean ones 2/7 days Terrible I will never go back to this resort nor will recommend it to anyone I know. I travel multiple times a year as well as my family and friends and will not go back to this resort. Being 3 years old it’s far from being finished and . Concrete walkways are very deficient and unfinished all over the resort. Send some of your reps there as well as from Sunwing and have them evaluate it for themselves. I would like my money back also. Waste of time and 2000$ for me .I will be complaining to Sunwing as well

Valentin Perla Blanca: Excellent Resort

The resort had 2 large pools so you could choose which area of the resort you wanted to use. The rooms were very comfortable. The resort staff were very friendly and accommodating. The pool area was great. I did not get involved in nightly entertainment activities but there appeared to be lots to chose from and a lot of activities during the day. I choose to relax by the pool and rest and relax and this resort was great for that.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Will be going back !!!

The resort is big. The staff was awesome, helped out with any concerns we had. The maid and the staff responsible for the instock of bar fridge was great. The beach was awesome. Always found loungers at the beach and pools. The la a carts were great, very filling. Entertainment was good, lots of activities and fun at the pool foam party. We were there for 2 weeks and will be going back to this resort.

Melia Las Dunas: Amazing

The best thing about this resort is the beach. Amazing!!! It is a very large resort, but not to worry because you can always jump on one of the trolleys, driven by Manuel and friends, also I cant remember the gentleman's name ,he had grey hair , very funny always doing his beep beep, when coming near people walking. The girls at the adult swim up bar were always very accomadating trying to make sure everyone got what they wanted. Frank and Manuel in the buffet were always great too, making s [... read more]ure that we got our wine at room temperature, which sometimes they had to go elsewhere to get it. You can tell that management treats everyone good, because all the workers seem to be very happy. We had a very nice room, clean and always done up in the morning. We never had any issues with our room. Some people did not like the fact that you cannot flush tissue down the toilet, but they are on an island and it really wasn;t that much of an inconvience, there was never an odor, because the garbage was always taken care of. I love the new palapas on the beach. I guess they lost all the other ones in the hurricane. You sure could not tell that there was a hurricane few months before. I find it very conveinent to have the bank right on site to convert money for you. The food was good for Cuba, always something different to eat, possibly not tasting the same as home, but still good. It was always nice to see Frank ( the gardener) every morning with his pleasant smile and Hola! The entertainment team was amazing, such talented people! Better than any that I have seen at any Other resort! This was our second time back to this beautiful place! We travel once or twice every year and have never before gone back to the same resort twice. But decided to , and were not dissapointed. Thank You Melia!

Valentin Perla Blanca: The Best Resort There Is!!!

We loved everything about the resort. The food was amazing, it was a huge resort with a lot of different fun activities in two totally different pools. The staff were amazing and the rooms were comfy!

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Amazing Resort

The Starfish is a wonderful resort that had everything a person would want in a holiday destination. The beach is pristine white powder sand. The staff is friendly and competent. The customer service is exemplary. Meals were delicious and beautifully presented. Fresh fruit, seafood, local vegetables, meat and chicken,cheeses and deli meats were always available in the buffet. Santa Maria Island is very safe and there is no harassment by over-eager vendors. My partner and I enjoyed ourselves and will definitely return to the Starfish, Cayo Santa Maria. Tripcentral enabled us to have a great vacation, at a great price. Booking was easy and the web site is very user friendly. We’ll definitely do it again!

We had very good experience this past week, the beach is more than 5 starts, room service very good, buffet was good, animation team very good and professional, for sure is a most comeback Hotel. Thanks trip central for your advice

Valentin Perla Blanca: Valentin Perla Blanca, Santa Maria, Cuba

Just back from a week at the Valentin Perla Blanca. We had a great time. The resort is big so there was a lot of walking. We had a beautiful ocean view room. They could use new pillows as the ones we had were very thin. There was always hot water & pressure for talking a shower. The food was good. We did the Italian, Spanish & French Restaurants & enjoyed all 3. The only real complaint that we had is the lack of chairs on the beach. You had to get up very early in order to find any. I  [... read more]heard that some people were putting their towels down the night before to get a chair that wasn't broken. The was a lot of reserving chairs both on the beach & at both pools. I think the resort should enforce the rules of no reserving spots. We saw chairs that were reserved for over 5 hours without anyone coming to use them. We were told by the guide that they are working on opening up a new airport closer to Santa Maria so you wouldn't have that 1.5 hour bus ride to the resorts. All in all a very good vacation & would return again.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Excelent hotel but..

I lost my cellphone and report it to the customer dervice they report it to the scuerity of the hotel which they said they will do thier best to investigate and l didn't hear from them until my last vacation day l asked the customer setvice for my surprise they told me that it not their responsibility if lost anything outside the room they arr only resposible if the lost from inside the room an hour later another man from the customer service told me the scuerity are still investigating and ehen [... read more] l told him lm leaving within an hour he said oh we will send to you when we find it and he didn't bother to tell me how and l didn't ask. Other than that the saff were excellent the food soo good the amanities of the hotel very good the service is excellent.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Just OK

Had a great time but the resort isn’t one I’ll go back to any time soon. Food and service needs to improve. Perhaps more staff is needed, never any clean tables at the buffet in the morning. Even tipping the staff didn’t improve service.
