We had a great trip. Food good. People are great rooms are clean and fresh Missing club amigo already. Wendy from trip central is the best. I will only book my trips with her. This was my second time there this year and it keeps get better and better Cuba customs very good to deal with quick and fare. Club amigo has tons of thing to do. Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Cuban Charm

First time in Cuba so cannot compare to other Cuban resorts. Service was friendly and hotel was very clean. Beach was beautiful. The food was well presented but very bland and overcooked. The grounds such as steps and walkways could use some repair, and the rooms need updating.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING!

Grounds spectacular, Food was plentiful, and good. Family of 7 vacationed together and it was just so much fun. Beaches were spectacular also. Swam with the Dolphins and cruised on a large Catamaran in 8 foot swells. The best was meeting the beautiful and kind Cuban people on and off the Resort.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Not a 4 star hotel

Stayed Mar 3 - 10, 2017, 2 couples. Check in: Slow and painful; we had paid extra for ocean view but this was ignored by the front desk until we pointed out the extra charges on the hard copy right in front of them. Room: Old and run down, bathrooms are shabby, curtains falling off the rods, light fixtures barely hanging on the wall, peeling paint. Our friends had to change rooms because the tub would not drain and the A/C was dripping water. Pool area: trip hazards on concrete, overflowing [... read more] garbage cans if you can find one Lobby; clean and modern but no bathroom on the Mares side, you had to go to the small bathroom way over on the other side of the pool by one of the restaurants Buffet: Typical Cuban, boring but you could find something to eat. A La Cartes: Italian and Cuban were good, French just OK Snack bars: very limited menus and not very good. Beach: beautiful with lots of chairs and shade Overall: With some major maintenance this could be a nice resort but we will not return anytime soon.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Awesome place!

The beach here is absolutely amazing! Hotel is clean and the food is good. I kept.hearing Cuba has bad food but this place was awesome. If you keep in mind you are in Cuba and keep your expectations there, you can't get good old Alberta beef but it was very nice. Friendly people, older crowd at this place. Would go back for sure!

Playa Pesquero: Amazing Resort

Overall the resort ROCKED. We had a great time everything from the food to the rooms and bars were SUPER. We met some great people from different parts of this crazy world of ours. The staff were very overwhelming and went out of their way to make our holiday worry free .The only bad part about the resort was the bed, was a little hard but that was not a very big issue rooms were clean restaurants were well maintained and clean. Enjoyed seeing the old cars out front of the resort and enjoyed riding in some as arranged by resort staff. The weather was hot and the ocean was refreshing . If I was to give this resort a rating from 1 to 5 it would be a 5+ . Again the Resort ROCKED. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone wishing to visit Holguin Cuba .I know I would return there . SO if anyone reading my review are thinking of trying this resort I'm telling you GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! there you will not be disappointed

Playa Costa Verde: Great holiday at Playa Costa Verde

We had a wonderful one week holiday at Playa Costa Verde. The resort is beautiful, small enough to walk around easily and find everything. The Japanese ala carte restaurant is not to be missed!! The food, service and our chef were amazing. Our weather for the first week of March was very good, just had one & 1/2 day of cloud and wind. The rooms are normal for Cuba, clean, bigger then we normally have and everything you need. The frig had water and pop every day, no beer. Snorkelling w [... read more]as some of the best we have ever had in Cuba. Reef close to shore and easy to swim out to. We walked past Blau to almost the point, to a ladder. Snorkelled back to our resort. Very good. I would recommend to anyone.

Playa Pesquero: Simply AMAZING !!!!

We had such a great time and great food. This is a huge resort but very spread out. If you love walking this is wonderful. Many paths with lots of mature trees. A lot of quiet areas to relaxe. We enjoyed the "boulevard" were you could sit in various small restaurants/bars and have food a la carte during lunch time. We have tried 3 restaurants a la carte at night and they were all very good. We had shrimps and lobsters "flambee" and also langoustes that were just delicious. People are nice and you don't feel the pressure to "tip" them. The pool is huge and very nice. White sand at the beach. Clean public bathrooms with toilet paper. We will definitely go back. Just loved it.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Amazing beaches

The beaches were amazing....we have been to the resort twice now the second time was way better than the first. The customer service was great the rooms were clean. The 2nd stay we stayed in the villas. We highly recommend this room type. The food was ok. There was a good variety of buffet and a la carte however the a la cartes filled up quickly. The beaches were fabulous the pools were dirty not enough chlorine and foggy. The staff always smiling, pacho jessicas patio what a great guy! , the la [... read more]dy in the beauty salon does a great pedicure, the panni press lady at the main buffet never missed a beat what a nice group of people in the dinning room. The young door man smiling eveey second , and norberto our horse and buggy driver welcomed us with open arms to him home! Our kids loved everything and cant wait to go back.

Sol Turquesa Beach: A great week away

The grounds were lovely. The five pools were beautiful, and each one offered something different. There were a lot of stairs. On our last afternoon we learned of an alternate route with no stairs! But, we were up for the challenge - with our fitbits, we surpassed our goals everyday! Walking on the beach was very therapeutic, and we definitely wanted to store those memories! Playa Pesquero: Great Resort

The swimming pools were very clean, plenty of chairs, there were lots of towels for the beach/swimming pool area. The restaurant a la carte were delicious! Our room was clean and was always done every morning.

Brisas Covarrubias: Wonderful Hidden Gem

February 24 – March 3, 2017 This was our 3rd time at Brisas Covarrubias and as usual our vacations starts as soon as we are out of the Airport doors. We know that the ride will take a while so we always pick up a few bubbly pops before loading onto the bus. I prefer a Small Resort so we can walk up to our room in privacy, as opposed to a Large Resort with Elevators and crowds, etc. It is a very private area being the only Resort on the lovely long beach. This Resort/Staff shows their appre [... read more]ciation by hosting a Special Dinner for returning guests. Elizabeth is Wonderful. If you have any questions, requests or problems, She will certainly do whatever she can to help you! Our room has always been large, clean, well maintained and conveniently located to everything. This year we had an Ocean view Room #3225. With the upstairs corner balcony we enjoyed the view of the Ocean and most of the resort. Very large clean rooms, grounds are well kept. Pool is sparkling. The Ground Keepers and Cleaning Staff are always greeting us with a friendly Hola! Each time we visit, they have taken care of us very well. The Bartenders are exceptionally friendly. It amazes me how they remember our names. The service is wonderful in the Buffet Restaurant. It seems that everyone’s favorite is the Breakfast Station where you can order eggs any style and they are cooked in front of you, personally I love the omelets. There is always a line at Lunch and Dinner at the Pasta Station. This year we also enjoyed 2 al carte. One of the great things about a small resort is you never have to wait for a table in the restaurant or a lounger on the Beach or at the Pool. After Breakfast and a Few spiked coffees you can enjoy a Fun game of Darts with many other Sun Lovers. There are bicycles available to take a ride if that interests you, or there is always the gym. Peddle boats (take a fishing rod with you) or a Hobi Cat ride will get you out onto the aqua blue water! I am sure there are many other activities that we have missed out on. The Beach Bar has a small menu and also a grill for burgers, hot dogs and fries. If you hit the right time you could have a pizza. We always enjoy joining the large fun loving group playing Bingo by the pool. Who knows who will have to do a dance or a plunge into the pool before getting ready for Dinner. If you are an early riser you can obtain a Wi-Fi card to use on your cell phone/tablet or laptop good for ½ hr. or 1 hr. Very reasonable but hard to come by! There is a Disco that opens at 11 pm. Sorry I cannot review since I have never made it past 10!!! New this year is the Beauty Salon. Braids, wash, style, haircut. Facial, Manicure, pedicure and Acrylic nails too! What a Lovely Lady! Highly Recommended!!!

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: You go here for the beach, sun and the people!

The hotel is very dated and has its faults but if you don't like the room you are staying in you upgrade and a bigger and nicer room like the Villas! Buffet has a good variety of food if you are picky but it won't taste exactly like at home. The entertainment staff make this place! They are fun and energetic and friendly. I had a great time and got the rest and relaxation I went to on vacation for :)

Playa Costa Verde: Great time!

Awesome resort. Food was always plentiful, and lots of selection. Beach was great and always chairs available. Entertainment in the day and evening were entertaining most of the time. Rooms were always clean but pretty outdated. Beds needs to be replaced asap.

Sol Turquesa Beach: cheap and cheerfull

Good value for the price food is ok Nice beach great pools rooms were clean but in need of some minor repairs and upgrades which they look like they are starting to bring the grounds and rooms back in line . This resort is located mostly on the side of a hill has a great view of the ocean I would not recommend this resort with someone with walking disabilities But for us it was great climbing stairs kept us in shape.

Playa Costa Verde: Enjoyed

Our trip to Playa Costa Verde was our very first all-inclusive.We did enjoy ourselves: the people,the resort,the service,our rooms and the weather were all wonderful. The food however,was not enjoyable for my wife.Whatever the food is cooked in or spiced with was not palatable for her. I was able to find food on the buffet which pleased my tastebuds. We did find a 24 hour snack bar that served fries and hamburgers that my wife enjoyed. The pools and our rooms were pristine.Two out of three excur [... read more]sions went well.Swimming with the dolphins A+,Katamaran ride,Safari and snorkelling C- and the trip into Holguin was an A. We could have done without the Safari,as far as we're concerned was a waste of time and money.Our Air Canada reps were fantastic helping us out. All in all,I would rate this adventure A-B+.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: needs attension

I found the staff to be pleasantad for the most part helpful . The front desk at check in needs signage and an attitude adjustment. For disabled people as myself in villa 6105 more ground transportation needs to be addressed if. when i needed transport for the Mediterranean resturaunt and was told the one drver couldn;t be found. I made arrangements the day before for a 6 AM pick up for luggage. There we no keys for the carts.. The bars are lacking in supplies. ie. no mint, no limes  [... read more]for Mohitos. No tomato juice, running out of tonic at 4 PM. The stink from the septic system at the main lobby, bar coffe bar and pool area maid it intolerable at times. Living in the country I am well aware of septic systems and this is easily rectified. A disappointing vacation, not professionally run at all, even if it is an older resort there is no excuse for fundamentals. My recommendation to friends AVOID AT ALL COST. Bill Weloski.

Playa Costa Verde: Third time still not disappointed

Quick check in. Clean rooms. Decent food for Cuba. Always friendly staff. A la cartes are always better than the buffet. No overall complaints. Being a returning customer has its perks too. Rum in your room. A la cartes are prebooked and free late check out if available. Nice touch. Your six stay is free how can you beat that? Just book your flight!

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Amigo Guradalavaca - A very pleasant stay

A beautiful location on a sandy bay. Excellent beach. Coral reef 200 m from the shore, still reachable by swimming from the beach. Or by a paddle boat. Scuba diving center nearby. Hobby cat catamaran sailing available (as a passenger). A few windsurfers in the inventory too, but not very good ones. Bring your own harness and boots. Beginning of March 2017 the water temperature 25-27 C, air 28 - 31 C, steady, fairly strong breeze from the east on shore. Good for kites and winsurfers,  [... read more]and not really impeding swimmers or paddle boaters. The beach gets more crowded during weekends with Cubans beach goers. That's good. That is their country as well. You can rent functional touring bicycles for free, and scooters for 25 CUC per day. A little township Guradalavaca is about 1 km away, and on the scooter you can go farther, for example towards Banes on a hilly winding asphalt road between banana plantations and tall coconut palm trees. The main hotel provides a decent accommodation. So called bungalows,slightly farther from the beach are newer and more modern. The best are so called villas: two story's units with total of 16 rooms in each. These are close to the beach and the newest buildings out of all. A beautiful promenade along the shore leading to the next resort, Brisas. A nice walk, but you might be stopped if you wanted to enter the hotel area (this is not YOUR all-inclusive) The food is absolutely adequate. If you limit yourself to few different dishes per meal instead of trying everything at once, then you will still have some unexplored variety by the end of your stay. And yes, there are a few of a la carte restaurants, for those for whom the standard meals and the 24-hour food serving bars are not sufficient.
