Vista Sol Punta Cana: Disappointed - choose another resort!

We were at this resort on February 22, 2023 - March 1, 2023. We prefer smaller resorts, hence why we selected this one. Beach: The beach and sand was beautiful, but not nearly enough beachfront property for so many people. Packed in like sardines, if you could even find a chair. Vendors: Vendors, vendors and more vendors! We skipped going to the beach a few times cause they would harass you every few minutes no matter how many times you would say no thank you. Was surprised they were all [... read more]owed on the actual resort property to harass you all the time! I do mean 'harass'!! Bar Service: Terrible lobby bar service. Didn't matter if you tipped or not. The bartenders paid more attention to each other than customers. Keep in mind if you enjoy beer, they only have Presidente draft beer and that is at all the bars. Drinks and beers are served in small plastic glasses and sometimes, the beer tasted soured. We actually went to a local store and bought beers for our fridge since service was so slow and they close exactly at midnight. note: only water is provided in your fridge (see below) Housekeeping: Rooms are not very clean. Bath mirror had not been cleaned all week and it was dirty when we got there. Shower has mold, dispensers were empty when we got there and not once refilled. They would forget to replenish towels and toilet paper of all things. We hid toillet paper so they would replenish!! They do not provide face cloths, just 2 bath sheets and 1 hand towel and that is for 2 people! Sheets had not been changed all week!! I actually threw my top sheet on the floor, thinking they would provide new sheets. They reused the top sheet from the floor!!!! We tipped every day and made no difference whatsoever. We were not provided with a Do Not Disturb sign for the door, so beware that housekeeping could walk in anytime! When I asked for one, they could not understand what I was asking for. Please note: They do not provide creamers for your coffee in the room. Sometimes they didn't even replenish the coffee in our room. They only provide water for your fridge. Hubby would take water from housekeeping carts because they would only leave us one bottle most of the time, and would leave the part opened bottle from previous day for coffee maker. Pool: The pools are beautiful, however be sure to get up by 6am to get a pool chair at the main pool. People would put towels on chairs and leave for the day. Out of a week stay, we were only able to obtain chairs once and that was because some people had left. They truly should keep on eye on that because chairs would sit empty from 6am to 6pm when the pool would close down for the night. Gounds: Very well kept and I will give them credit for that. Food: We only tried the Japanese Restaurant. Food was ok, but not really Japanese! Buffet was typical. Good variety, but seemed to be the same every day. Some food items didn't have a label, so who knows what was being served. No milk at the coffee machine, so you have to look for it around the buffet somewhere. You can't go in with swimsuits/coverups, so be prepared to change clothes all the time! I recommend the Food Truck on the beach as they made great burgers and fries. That food truck was much better than the actual buffet! Spa: The spa was amazing and recommend Dominicia! If it wasn't for the spa, I would give this resort a 1 out of 5. Things to do: We saw yoga, aquafit, etc classes on the beach, however we were never provided with a schedule, so we had no idea when anything was being offered. There isn't much to do at night. Pool bar had comedy shows or something, but only in French. Shows at the theater every night, and beach party twice a week. Be sure to go to the theater early cause you may not find a table or even chairs. Place gets packed because there isn't anything else to do. We will NEVER go back to this resort, nor would we ever recommend. I am disappointed in this place and should have gone somewhere else for $2025.00! I am giving this resort a 2.0 and that's because the spa was wonderful and for only that reason. Strongly recommend going to another resort and definitely NOT this one. PS: brings lost of money because they EXPECT to be tipped ALL the time!! Also, keep in mind that everything closes at midnight, so no snacks or drinks to be had.

VIK Hotel Arena Blanca: Great Resort

Food was really good and it was nice not to have to make reservations for the rotating ''À la carte'' restaurants (Mexican, Seafood and Italian). Buffet also had a nice selection and the food was great! Grounds are very well kept, public bathrooms were immaculate all over the resort. Rooms were well maintained, great maid service everyday. Water and toilet paper replenished everyday. If you are looking for a ''party place'' this resort is not for you. Although there were shows nightly, it  [... read more]was low key and average. But this is place is great for relaxation to recharge your batteries. Like the fact that it is on the ''smaller'' size, everything within easy walking distance. The beach is this section has been somewhat eroded but still beautiful. This is no fault of the resort. With all the ''open air spaces'' (lobby, theater, dining facilities) we didn't feel that masks were required anywhere. Hand sanitizers were readily available all over.

Occidental Caribe: Poor Customer Service

The hotel was mediocre at best. We had booked a superior room with a king sized bed. Our assigned room had two double beds. It did have a fantastic view of the ocean. The room was supposed to be stocked with water, pop, a bottle of rum, beer and snacks. The water was hit and miss dependant upon what they had on the cart. We never had beer or snacks supplied to the room. We eventually got a bottle of rum after speaking to guest services twice and our Air Transat Representative twice. W [... read more]hen we tried to book dinners in the restaurants, we were met with great resistance and told on Day 1 that there was no space available in any of the restaurants. We refused to leave customer service until we had some bookings as our package allowed for four choices. The food in the restaurants was good but they were only half full so I am not sure why it was so difficult to get a reservation. Any time we went to customer service for an inquiry, we were told to come back later as no one was available to assist us. Overall I would say the resort did not live up to the promised package and the building was somewhat run down. We enjoyed the weather, but were generally disappointed with how we were treated while there - the remainder of our group had an even worse experience due to a delayed flight. They gave away their rooms so they were not able to get into a room until 4 pm on the day of their arrival after having been travelling all night long! I blame it on the management of he resort as the workers- with the exception of Guest Services did the best they could with what they had.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Amazing resort

The resort was beautiful. Our butler was so helpful Samual always made sure we had everything we needed and checked in on us all of the time. Our maid service did a great job but they could do more special things in the rooms to make their guests feel special. I tipped every day and there were no flowers or characters made with towels nothing so that was disappointing. The food was over the top. All the restaurants we went to were amazing. We were very disappointed in the beach very rocky which surprised us because everyone raved about the beaches in Dominican. They have not been to Cuba or Roatan. Those are beautiful beaches.

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: bad resort ever

the hotel is full of local people, sometimes they will ask you if you need cocain especially in the disco and casino, at first day they gave me a dirty room that smells of mold, they don't want to change the room I stayed up and negotiated with them until 4 am, after that the guy wanted money under the table, I gave him $20 and he gave me a premium room, the buffet is good, the beach is not the best, the service is very bad ,people are always angry and disrespectful you feel like you are botheri [... read more]ng them when you ask for a drink. in conculsion forgotten this resort if you do not want to be disappointed during your vacation.

Margaritaville Island Reserve Cap Cana Hammock: Beyond my expectations!

The resort is the perfect size easy to get around. The restaurants were the best I’ve eaten at in the DR and no reservations needed. Huge plus! Very modern no cash needed for anything. Room key is on your bracelet very handy. Touch less elevator buttons. We stayed in the adult section but the family section was very quiet no problems. The only cons I would say is the concierge service which is really just a pressure salesman to buy timeshare in their villas. I found that to be a real turnoff, he was quite pushy. And the beach area wasn’t great but the pool area was awesome! Cap Cana is literally 10 minutes from the airport so also a bonus. Overall I would definitely recommend this resort, service, food and high tech features were all great.

Caribe Deluxe Princess: Fabulous resort in every aspect!

As a seasoned all inclusive traveller, I cannot say enough about this resort! From the check in, to the food, grounds, rooms, pools and beach, it was perfect! The grounds are like a nature park and kept immaculately. I can honestly say I have never stayed at a resort as well maintained or as clean as this one. The layout of the main buffet restaurant is brilliant, as the food area is in a separate space, closed in by sliding doors, separating where you dine from the commotion of where you ge [... read more]t the food. While we did try one a la carte restaurant (Mexican), we ended up cancelling the others we had booked. The buffet was fantastic. The fresh salad/vegetable options, we could not get enough of. The location of the beach was about the best on the strip. Wide beach and not crazy busy, like other parts of the beach strip. There could be more beach loungers and palapas, as one did have to get to the beach early (7:30ish) in order to secure a shady spot and lounger. Rooms were recently renovated and beautiful. Loads of hot water, comfortable beds and AC worked perfectly. There were a lot of families and young children at this resort, so if you are looking for a more mature, quiet place, this might not be for you. That being said, we did not encounter any noise problems or loud, misbehaving travellers. We had a fantastic week and would return in a heart beat!

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Disappointed deffinetly not not enjoyable!

Having travelled extensively throughout the Caribbean I know a quality resort and this is not one. Upon arrival front desk is trying to up sell us for an additional $800.00 USD what they said was a recommended Level Experience. We purchased a Premium package and did not upgrade to The Level. So first day on Beach we experienced the management taking towels off chairs as people were not in the chair for a half hour. So you could not go to lunch, walk on the beach or even go for a swim and exp [... read more]ect to come back to your chair. There were not enough chairs for the amount of people staying at the hotel on beach or by the pools. Chair theft and arguments were common. There is only one bathroom for the beach and restaurant and line ups were long. Only one bar on beach and water downed alcohol. The bar was at the far end of the beach by the bathrooms are. If you are in the premium the lunch and breakfast was buffet and the food and coffee was always cold. There was only one guy for eggs and omelets. There was no bacon after 8 am. You have to go each day to book your ala carte dinner for the next day. By the third day we gave in to Level up of an additional cost of $560.00USD as we only experienced frustration and disappointment. Once you Level up you now had another bathroom you could go to. You now also had premium alcohol and ala cart breakfast and lunch were food and coffee was hot. We have been to other hotels were you have Lunch and breakfast as ala cart and you booked two to three day for dinners. Also other hotels were you did not need to book reservations at all just walked in to restaurant and they would seat you if room if not you wait or go to another one. The room was substandard paint pealing off ceiling in bathroom tiles damaged and caulked over. The floor drain had a sewer smell and small black flies continuously came out of drain. Had to put towel over the drain and keep door closed to keep the smell from entering the rest of the room. Complained to front desk nothing was done. Our patio/balcony was on the ground level which was fine except that hotel staff used it as a short cut carrying equipment to and from where they were going within three feet of balcony there was no privacy. The flower beds were all dead weeds wild grass not flowers which is not usual for Dominican. This was and Adults Only Hotel and just outside the room door was a Kids water park from the sister hotel next door. Why is the Waterpark not at that Hotel? Hear kids yelling all day long we came on vacation to get away from that and booked an Adults only but did not get it as even on the beach there would be kids and parents walking around up by your chairs. Its one thing to be on the beach walking but not walking around especially when you are on the roped in area of the LEVEL Beach Area. We could go on and on about our disappointment with this resort would not recommend it to anyone. It is a 3.5 -4 star at best if you Level up.

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: First time in a long time

We went to the Catalonia Bavaro Golf and Beach resort, Check in was easy but i do not understand why they want all guest to come back and check in a 3pm, it makes for a rush at the counter at that time. The front check in staff all spoke good English, The front lobby bar was awesome, Sarah, Icelia Nicole and Kelvin were fantastic there was another male manager there but forgot his name, he was great as well. We spent a lot o [... read more]f time between the Pool and the Beach, Jessica at the beach bar was fantastic, she always greeted us with a smile and a nice hello. We ate breakfast and lunch most times at the Pool restaurant Maria at the counter of the pool restaurant always greeted us with a smile, Yanny was our server and took care of us most times though we would try to go a different server in the morning to spread the wealth around. The a la carts were good we went to them almost every second night as we found the main buffet was very repetitive. Overall we had a great time

Catalonia Royal Bavaro: No comment

I stayed in this hotel just to sleep found it very boring no activities to do during the day The family side had more excitement during the day. Never will I book with an all adult resort. The buffet was small and not selection to choose from. The only thing I can say it was absolutely clean at all times and most of the staff were really nice

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Majestic Colonial 4 week stay

I ❤️ the Majestic Colonial We have been several times. There are 2 buffets for breakfast, one that opens early at 7, and closes by 10, but don't worry as the beach buffet opens at 930 and stays open until 5. The servers are friendly and quick to seat you and get your drink order. Table cloths in the one buffet and more casual at the beach.Several restaurants for supper choice, two require reservations. You will not walk away hungry, but I sometimes found it lacking satisfactory Always clean, always friendly. The grounds and lobby are beautiful. Colorful flowers and the tiny hummingbirds surround the walkways. The pools may be missing a few 1" tiles, but you see maintenance working, painting, replacing tiles. Some of the servers Joel at swim up, Meceadis and Alexis at lobby and sports bar. Femmy at restaurant. The entertainers work so hard to involve you in activities. Their shows, if you have never been are very entertaining, however after 4 weeks ..... The rooms are large but feel damp. We had a room near swim up bar and that is where water aerobics and games are. I personally found music far too loud. Their Thursday vendors are super annoying as they push and pull to come to look at their items. If they were to back off, more people would look and probably buy. Their casino is small. The sports bar is great for anyone wanting to catch a game and meet fellow sports nuts. The washrooms are cleaned frequently which is a plus. This resort is large and is connected to its sister resorts which you cannot use. The maid Danida was so kind to us, ensuring we had our coffee, towels and tp. Even the guy topping up bar fridge, asking if we needed anything. I heard some people say they weren't getting certain things(pop of choice or extra beer) so I told them to speak up People are nor mind readers. Never been a person to repeat resorts, but when we found this one....... It's totally amazing. There is a small mall outside resort but again you will get bombarded. This resort is a 4 out of 5 More maintenance needs to be done and some food improvements. Overall, it is absolutely beautiful with friendly welcoming people ( Jacob and Fransisco) Decent food, clean accommodation with large room, very comfy mattress. Beach goes from miles. Majestic area is ideal for jumping in ocean other areas are rougher.

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: Great Resort!

We had a wonderful week at the adult only El Beso resort. I don’t have a lot of all inclusive experiences, but I was expecting a sandy beach, palm trees & decent food, and it delivered - and more! The food was surprisingly good and plentiful with lots of selections at every meal. It was difficult to get reservations at the a la cart restaurants (a frantic 07:00 am game on their website, with everything booked solid in 30 seconds - literally), but the buffets were actually great! The pools  [... read more]were lively and very much a party atmosphere, which I would have taken part in some days if I wasn’t there with my mother, so the beautiful beaches were where we spent our time. Extremely opulent lobby, and very nice rooms. The staff were a joy to deal with as well.

Ocean El Faro: Great staff can be great hotel

Like most reviews beautiful hotel clean but complete lack of chairs by pool and beach nobody likes getting up in the middle of the night to reserve chairs and restaurant booking with app is completely ridiculous must be done at 7 am no relaxation for holidays will not go back

Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: Majestic Elegance club Feb 22-March 1st, 2023

This was our 5th time back, but the first since Covid, and it didn’t disappoint. It was as Majestic as we had remembered, and we had a fabulous week of fun in the sun. From beautiful beaches, lots of great restaurants, to dancing at night in the courtyard under the stars, it was everything we had been missing, and dreaming of. There are no Covid rust ructions in place, and if it’s a concern for you be sure to pack some travel size hand sanitizers, and wipes to take along. We were in the club [... read more] section of the Elegance, and want to give a shout out to Our butler, Santiago who made it his mission to find us everyday, and to take care of our every need. Also want to acknowledge Yanibel for her excellent service in the courtyard in the evenings. Her warm welcoming smile, and pleasant conversations made our evenings that much more enjoyable. Yulanni from the entertainment team serves high praise for her constant presence, friendly greetings, and friendly smiles. Our room attendant, Tannis was amazing, and our room, and fridge were kept top notch. This hotel is a true 5 star, and we left with a suitcase full of happy memories which we will treasure until the next time.

Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: Nice resort

This was our 2nd time at this resort. Went in 2022 and 2023. We did see a decline in a number of services such as food prep, room cleanliness, entertainment. Wait staff at the pool and lobby bar were excellent. A la cart restaurants were good except fir the Sea to Sea. Claudia at the Spa was excellent.

Occidental Punta Cana: Wonderful resort

This hotel was amazing, the rooms were beautiful and clean and the cleaning staff were always their if you had any questions. The grounds were kept beautiful and everyone was so friendly. We really enjoyed our stay and the food was great, would definitely go back their again.

Caribe Deluxe Princess: Amazing resort

This has been our 15th time at this hotel but the first since covid. We were very impressed with the recent renovations, the only thing that we didn't like, is that the buffet restaurant is now much smaller. And that the beach bar is now vip only. Yes there is a bar at the other end, but you must wear shoes in the building. Most people walked into the back of the swim up bar to get a drink. Ocean El Faro: Ocean ElFaro

Thus resort is amazing. Grounds are beautiful, staff is wonderful and food for the most part was good. Steakhouse needs a little attention...portions were way too small. The app for booking restaurants is horrible; it needs updating in the worst way. No one should have to wake at 6am in order to line up to reserve a table for dinner while on vacation. Someone should take all towels off the loungers at night in order to give all a chance to get a lounger. Entertainment staff were absolu [... read more]tely amazing particularly Johan! Miguel the bell boy was also amazing. Overall, once we got our proper rooms (3 out of 4 were wrong) it was a fantastic vacation. More washrooms are needed by the pools!

Grand Palladium Select Bavaro: Great Resort, Amazing facility.

We visited Grand Palladium Bavaro in the last week of February 2023, The Staff was super friendly. Grand palladium had a lot of things inside the resort that you can do for fun like Live shows, night parties, and All the great Pools. We had an amazing time there, the food was good quality, not so many options for vegetarians though. Only one day they missed coming and cleaning the room/Making the bed, the rest of the days they were pretty good. Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Melia caribe Beach

The hotel was 5 star and we were up graded to "Level" Had our private consearge. The suite was excellent. Pool just across the lane, although we spent most of our time on the beach which was beautiful. Everything seemed to be back to Normal after covid. Restaurants were good although some of the reserved dining was mediocre, lacking flavour All in All we had a wonderful time and thanks to Natalie everything was perfect.
