VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Amazing Resort

The resort was small but exceptionally clean. The staff were amazingly friendly & helpful, making sure everything was perfect for us. The beach was great! There was a large group of us celebrating our Mom`s 90th Birthday and nobody had any complaints. All are saying they plan to return to this resort in the future. Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: OK Type Resort

Not a good experience at Cofersi Resort. We reached the resort at 1AM due to flight delay. We were hungry and asked helpdesk if any cafe is open at this time. First they said No and when we asked again they said Yes Pearl is open for snacks till 5AM. We went there to eat, the only thing available there was fries. We asked for ketch up and they said its finished and will be available in the morning during breakfast. The rooms were not good too. We booked three rooms, In one room the water use t [... read more]o come out while taking shower, in second room the shower was not working properly and in third room the AC was leaking. We learned very first day that if you don't have VIP Package you don't get to use all the facilities the resort has, It was not mentioned to us while booking the trip. Online it says Wifi is free, when we asked for the password they said you have to pay $60 USD for a week to use WiFi One thing we like was the entertainment team there. The people (Shofly, Mambo, Tiny and Chocolate) were really good. They kept people involved in all the activities, keep smiling and make people laugh too

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: A nice resort that needs a little more upkeep.

This resort is not a 4-5 star resort. It needs to have some upkeep to repair things like leaking showers, air conditioners that do not work, and better lighting. The food was okay not wow. The variety was adequate. The staff were great. Entertainment people were great.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Great Resort!

-grounds were well kept -food was delicious with a variety to choose from -ate at main buffet every breakfast and dinner... did not try any a la carte restaurants, which do not require reservations (first come, first served) -beach was nice (free paddle boarding, wind surfing, kayaking available) -service was good -rooms could be cleaned a bit more thoroughly

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Average

Definitely not a 4 star resort. This is a large resort made up of many different sections. You’ll have to take a shuddle to move between the different resorts. Cofresi itself is old and in need of updating. Also, there’s a lot of walking involved so if there any physical related concern, this won’t be the best option. The beach was also very small. Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Exactly what we expected

The resort was clean wth friendly staff and entertainment crew Being a smaller resort a smaller selection at the buffet was to be expected but the food was fine. The beach was beautiful nice sand with no rocks. Having an on-site disco every night meant there was something to do late when we chose too. If you are looking for posh you will be disappointed but for a nice relaxing vacation it was just what we needed

The beach was amazing and the rooms were clean and nice. Overall, this adults only resort is very nice and a good place for some relaxed days (no loud music etc.) as a couple or as a group witth a good prize-to value ratio. Also the staff is very friendly. However, the food quality varied across different restaurants/places and days.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Good and not so good. Overall: had a good time!

The grounds were very nice, the entertainment was good, the rooms comfortable except for the showers and the beds. The pool area very nice, the food amazing, the beach not so much, people should be advised to bring swimming shoes as there are a lot of rocks.

The grounds were beautiful. The weather was amazing. Puerto Plata is a rocky region so the ocean has a rock shelf about 40m from the shore to watch out for. The staff were amazingly friendly and made New Year’s Eve incredibly fun.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great Resort

Good hotel-very clean, great staff, good food, nice pool (cool) and oodles of lounge chairs. Have had better beaches but not that bad - loved the natural shade trees. Entertainment disappointing. Would recommend

Pleasant atmosphere (for meeting people), beautifully modernized rooms, decent food, fantastic service by all staff (especially Candy Love, Augusto, Carleton, Luis), great activities (tennis, ping pong, volleyball, watersports), perfect beach, well-planned and executed New-Year's Eve show.

Small venue. Great beach...about 5 minutes walk from hotel but that was ok. First balcony room we were checked into was 2 queens (we asked for king), smelled like sewage, and looked onto a stairwell. Resort changed our room but was still two queens, looked into a stairwell but did not smell like sewage. Team members were not so friendly at first but got more friendly as week went on. Rosmarino good but 2nd time forgot our table and we did not eat..Tried to do a great job for New Years Eve but prime rib raw...other selection very good. I enjoyed this budget adult only all inclusive. For the price I paid, I was happy with the services provided. The beach was beautiful with the mountains in the backdrop and great for nice long walks. The ocean clean and with fun waves. Was there in high season. Enough chairs to go around. No long waits at bars. If you eat early no waits at restaurants. Food was ok. Nothing to write home about but you could find something tasty at every venue. Red wine was drinkable. Have had worst at other highe [... read more]r end resorts. If you are looking for a small inexpensive adult only all inclusive, this is one to consider. More for those who want to relax than for those wanting to party.

Riu Merengue: Very good vacations in a nice resort

The resort is a large open resort right next to the beach. The different pools are accessible, clean and you have a choice between a busy and noisy one or a very quiet one a bit further. You have bars everywhere so you won't be thirsty. Kids club was good for the kids even though it could have been a bit more organized to be honest. Food is honestly very decent. Casa Marina Reef Resort: Great resort!

This was a very nice resort with well-kept grounds, clean and comfortable rooms and good food. Parts of the hotel are recently renovated and look very nice. We did not have an updated room but it was still comfortable. The resort is quite large but there are lots of amenities for example 2 beaches and several pools so it doesn't feel crowded. They did often run out of towels and clean dishes at the busiest times at the buffet but usually only a minor delay. We had dinner at the Mexican a la carte, and many items on the already limited menu were not available. The staff at the a la carte were not friendly but the rest of the staff at the resort were friendly and very helpful.

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Wonderful resort. Second time there

This was our 2nd time there and we plan on going back again next year. The rooms are clean the resort is a nice size. The food was excellent. The workers are cheerful . Every morning they greet you with a smile. Pools and jacuzzi are very clean.

This hotel is currently under major renovation and we stayed in the older section which was still very good. The room we stayed in was large and clean and although a little tired, still comfortable. The renovated areas of the resort look very nice and modern. The buffet restaurant is new and had lots of great options, the food was very good. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our only complaint was that there are gaps when there is no food available. This only was a problem when we arrived very late after a delay at the airport and were starving and after being out for the day and getting back between lunch and dinner. There was always bottled water and pop (replaced daily) in the minifridge in our room which was excellent as well as a complimentary bottle of rum on our arrival! Overall a great Christmas at a great resort and often at a great price.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Amazing grounds

Grounds where very good. Beach very nice. Beach chairs not well maintained Ubgrated room, but wouldn't have save key included. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms overall clean, but needed renovations.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Fantastic vacation

We just returned from a week vacation at Grand Bahia Principe and can say without a doubt this was our best yet. We were there for Christmas and the festive dinner we had there was unbelievable. The resort staff works really hard to keep the grounds in pristine condition and the entertainment crew was very good. The food was amazing and my 6 years old enjoyed the kids club a lot. Sunscape Puerto Plata: Great time!

Beautiful resort and very clean! Food was great with lots of choices in restaurants! The rooms were updated and great size! All around great choice for all inclusive resorts at great price....will definitely come back!!
