Delfin Beach Resort Puerto Vallarta: Great Location!

Located on the best beach in the heart of the city's action. The staff are great - always happy, smiling and willing to help. Not recommended for people with walking difficulty because of the stairs to the bathroom from the pool or the beach. Superior rooms are very basic and I suggest you upgrade your room if you can afford it.

Samba Vallarta: Lovely Resort

We left the kiddos behind, spent 5 days at the Samba for our 10th anniversary, and loved our stay at this little resort. We were nervous about staying at a small resort, but quickly realized for us, smaller is better! We felt so comfortable and at home. Not crowded, not loud, not inconvenient, lined up etc. There were always enough tables and beach and pool chairs. We did both a la carte restaurants and enjoyed them very much. If we would have stayed longer, we would have booked the a la cartes multiple times to taste all of the menu offerings. (It's nice you can even do that, as at the bigger resorts you only get one time at each a la carte) The main buffet is air conditioned and had plenty of yummy things to offer for breakfast lunch and dinner. (Breakfast was my favourite - must go to omelet station for amazing omelets and the secret bacon) The beach snack bar was really quite good as well. Make sure you check under every lid to find the pork chops, pulled pork, beef, and chicken selections if you are not keen on a hot dog or hamburger. Or do the cheezy fries! The beach is beautiful. Didn't see a spec of seaweed or garbage. The pool is also beautiful and very clean. You can walk for miles everyday along the beach. We didn't check out the night entertainment, as we prefered to relax in our room. We got a balcony room with king bed, mini fridge and coffee maker. It was blessedly airconditioned when we needed that, but we also sat out on the balcony quite a bit. The rooms aren't brand new and there were a few signs of the damp climate, but overall very clean and comfortable. Above all else, the service was amazing. That was what made this a 4 star in my opinion. Very attentive, friendly, professional staff. We are looking forward to bringing our kids next time. Also recommend the rhythms of the night excursion and the dolphin experience excursion!

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Basic, Clean, Nice

Resort is big but not huge. YOU can easily go from one point to another by foot. Grounds are nice, rooms are clean, food is OK. Rooms are basic (very basic)- like no fan in the bathroom, just open a window... Perfect resort if you are over 69 years young. drinks are good, music played at the bars is perfect. Entertainment- not that great. Embarrassing moments at times. You can avoid them, as they only stay at one of the pools. Over-all I give it a 6 out of 10. Location is not great either. Be pr [... read more]epared to pay 25USD every time you want to go somewhere (even in the paid trips- no transportation from this hotel). Do not go with children there. Not a family resort.

Fiesta Americana Riviera Nayarit: Great resort

Resort overall - the resort overall was great. Always clean, staff was always friendly and ready/willing to help out. It is just a smaller resort than what I am used to compared to Dominican. The beach space was much smaller but was big enough, we never had an issue with not finding seating. I liked that there was a server that came directly to your seats to get your drink order. They always had some sort of show or something going on but it never lasted long or late into the night. No disco or anything like that. So definitely a nice, peaceful resort if that's what you're looking for. My boyfriend and I are in our late twenties and we would have liked a little more activity at night. Another con - they always say they include non motorized sports in your package but we only saw a few kayaks and some boogie boards. Aside from that, I don't think they had anything and they were never laid out on the beach like I've seen it done at other resorts. I think they need to make people better aware of the equipment. I only realized on the last day that they had boogie boards that I could use in the ocean. Would have loved to use them more often. Lastly, what really ticked me off big time is that we got charged for a movie we never watched! My boyfriend looked through the movies you could order but never selected any of them. Then when we checked out, their "system" had a record of us watching a movie from 1145 to 115 am one night. First of all, I don't think we stayed up past 1115 or 1130 any night. Second, that was our second day of outdoor trips. We were exhausted and went to sleep by 1030. So I don't know how the TV magically went on and ordered this movie but we were forced to pay because the manager conveniently didn't come in until later and by then we would have missed our transportstion to the airport. I know it's not the end of the world, but it's the principle of the matter and the fact that they wouldn't just take our word for it that really bugged me. I have no problem paying for services used, but I have a huge problem with being charged for something I never used. Rooms - big, spacious, beautiful. We had a jacuzzi on the balcony which was wonderful. We were very comfortable in our room and the maid did a great job of cleaning up every day. However, our clothes felt humid and wet after a few days in the room which was a bit gross. And on the 6th day of our trip I realized the sheets hadn't been changed. Now, I don't know if our maid hadn't changed them at all or just hadn't changed them for a few days. Regardless, the pillows smelled weird at that point and I could feel a bit of sand in our bed. Obviously this is very unpleasant and disappointing for what we paid for our trip. We expected more so that was definitely a disappointment. Service - great, people were friendly and social and made us feel welcome.

Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta: beautiful resort

Staff was amazing, so friendly, my only complaint was the buffet at night, should not be a Fahita house every night. The house cleaning staff was awesome, our room was cleaned twice a day. Very close to Puerta Vallarta, five minutes by taxi

Paradise Village Puerto Vallarta: Amazing resort!

This was an amazing resort! Incredibly beautiful beaches, super clean rooms, common areas and beach area. Food was amazing! Loved the gym, saunas etc. Lots of great theme nights and entertainment. Would for sure go back.

Riu Flamingos: good hotel for the amount paid

Hotel was clean and had many food options. Entertainment was typical to other resorts. Movie on the beach was amazing. The biggest issue for me was that if you don't tip, you get no service at the bars or restaurants. It felt like you had carry your wallet with you from morning till night to get service. I wouldn't pay more than $1200 for this resort

Casa Velas: Beyond our Expectations!

Have stayed in a lot of 5 star resorts and Casa Velas is certainly at the top of the list. Staff were wonderful. Rooms were roomy. Food was excellent. Beautiful property. Sweet little beach club. What more could you want?

Hacienda Buenaventura Hotel and Mexican Charm: Will definitely return next year

When you walk in from the street it is like entering an oasis. Great food. Very clean. Quaint. Well maintained. Great bar tenders Ola Pedro ! Fantastic experience.We had a room on the first floor away from the pool. Nice and quiet. Room 124

Samba Vallarta: Very relaxing quiet resort!!

I found the staff at this resort to be top notch! The grounds were kept immaculate! My only suggestion for this resort would be to improve a little on the food. Other than that, it was amazing!! The location was great as there was so much to do right in the vicinity!

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: An awesome time

We had a great time with friends at Iberostar Playa Mita. Beach was wonderful, water was warm. Amenities were ample. Food was delicious, hosts were all consistently warm and friendly. Our room was comfortable with a king size bed and balcony overlooking the amazing courtyard. All in all it was a great experience. We booked on-line but after coming back and walking past a travel agency in the mall I stopped in and made a 100 % recommendation for Iberostar Playa Mita. Would not recommend tourist t [... read more]o volunteer for nightly 9:30 pm show. Could be embarrassing.

Occidental Nuevo Vallarta: Superb Vacation Spot

The hotel, inside and outside is very clean. You can see that the staff work very hard to look after maintainance and housekeeping. The rooms are pretty standard, nothing special but very comfortable. Could use more drawer space in the room though. Wi-fi Really sucks if you are on the south side of the building. We were in Room 629 and it was non-existant, even when we paid for it which I would not recommend. Hotel management are the best. When I couldn't stand the music from the seemingly all night theatre performance, I spoke to Vanet about it and she got me moved to the other side (north) side of the building which was great. Erika who books the a' la cartes was the best as well. Very much an older crowd at this resort. Buffet was OK but the a'la cartes were 5 star food for sure. The Italian resteraunt was the best. Best service, Best ambiance, best everything. All of the staff in both a'la cartes work their tail off to serve you. Please tip generously as they deserve it.

Plaza Pelicanos Grand: Not bad resort! !

Nice clean resort with very nice staff. The only 2 issues we had with the resort was that they're wasn't enough chairs . We found the buffet good but very little choice. Mind you the " à la carte" restaurants where very very good.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Great resort

The ground were okay. I have been there for the last 10 years, it was bright colours and now it is a dull beige. Looks like a hospital. Very clean, staff are fantastic, food was good. The only bad thing is that they let this guest come every year , he treats the staff bad, he yells at them, he has been known to push guests and threaten them. He is known as the decameron bully. Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Don't go for the rooms

The resort was very well maintained and the food was just above average. The staff were great and there was lots to do that was free. You do not get cushions for the pool loungers, your room is very very basic with no extras like a clock and you have to pay for the safe key and you do not get your money back. We had a good time and meet lots of nice couples that really enjoyed themselves there.

Costa Club Punta Arena: Frendli staff, good beach,noisy mexican musik.

You get what you pay for.2 buffet+not so friendly servis at restaurant.Very close to supermarket.Walking distans to beatiful downtown of Puerto Vallarta.Room service OK.The best things iauganas walking under beach chairs eating salads.

Grand Marival Emotions Resort and Suites: Fantastic Time!

Marival Resort was everything we expected and more. Although we did not bring kids, this is a great family resort, but equally as great for adults. Lots to do for all ages. It was good to have an all inclusive as a "home base" and central between Puerto Vallarta and Rincon.

Riu Flamingos: Great trip to PV!

The staff was very helpful and generally spoke English quite well. The resort was very well kept from the grass/shrubs to the pools to the beach to the lobby to the dining areas to the rooms. Felt very secure at the resort with security at the gate. Movies on the beach were a nice touch. Food was plentiful with lots of selection. Quality was quite good as well. The only complaint I have was that in 7 days we were only able to book 1 A La Carte for the early sitting as you could only book up to 2 [... read more] days in advance. And the Asian one was just a buffet and didn't have to dress up as expected so that was a bit of a let down. There were some items that couldn't be had in the main buffet and as a buffet goes it was well done. Although the wifi had to be 90 consecutive minutes once you logged on each day, I didn't find it to be too much of a problem once you scheduled it. After all, you are on holidays and shouldn't need internet access at all times in my opinion. The resort is quite a distance from downtown PV so by bus is usually an hour or more including wait times and one transfer. All in all, can't complain too much as we had perfect weather and had an awesome time!

highly recommend the royal decamaron, it is in a good location away from the business of puert Vallarta.Excellent service, food, and entertainment.You can walk both ways down the beach for miles and find really good restaurants on the beach.Whale watching and fishing were really good also.its a bigger resort but you have lots of variety for food and drink, will definitely return.

Riu Vallarta: Staff Make this Resort

The hotel was very clean and the staff were extremely friendly. The beds were uncomfortable (hard & lumpy) but the pillows were great. Bed toppers (2" foamy) were available upon request (only found out at check out). The food was good and definitely worth going to the specialty restaurants - having to get up at 7:00 am to stand in line to make a dinner reservation was not fun but the cappuccino from the 24 hour sports bar made the wait tollerable.
