Azul Beach Resort Negril: Terrific Resort and without the huge crowds

Excellent room, great food options beyond the Huge buffet option for most resorts, beautiful beach and lots of lounges and even many of the large beds. Check out Brandon (lifeguard) on the beach, he is your go to guy, and see Roxanne or Jasmine at the coffee shop (great Americano's) and Laverne at Mahogany. All great folks and great service. JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar: Our most favorite resort

Everything is so clean. Staff are so friendly and efficient. The food is great. We love the beach. The water is so clear and warm. There are a lot of things to do on the resort. We have been at this resort four times.

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Beautiful resort , great staff!!

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Beautiful Resort

This resort was beautiful complete with all the amenities The service was excellent, the staff was excellent and the food was incredible. Would we go back - absolutely. I would recommend this resort to everyone - if you have children then it is a plus resort to go to - lots of entertainment day and night.

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Beautiful beach top notch food

The resort itself was wonderful, the beaches are beautiful. Very relaxing time away. The food was to die for. I can’t stress this enough. The best food I’ve ever had on an all inclusive. Ever. My only real complaints are that the shower was plugged with black hair before we got to our room. The hair was removed eventually but the shower was still plugged so we couldn’t use it and had to use the tub.

Grand Palladium Jamaica: OK Resort

The resort seemed a little dated. Not one paper towel dispenser worked Seemed like if you didn't leave the maid a daily tip she didn't do as nice a job, no toilet paper or Kleenex after a cleaning one day Overall clean, friendly staff The pool and beaches were nice

Grand Lido Negril: Staff and Amenities are great

The Lido guest has access to diamond club, hideaway and all Royalton amenities but we mostly stayed iat the Lido pool during the days. Service was great in the building and around the reggae bar and grill. No beach on this side, but there’s is private access to the ocean via ladder and private cove; didn’t miss the sand at all. Very private and quiet, never more than a few handfuls of guests, plenty of room for everyone to engage in conversation, games or have solitude.

Sandals Dunn's River: great resort

Enjoyed our stay at Dunn's river resort. The place was spotless.The staff were very personable, helpful and friendly. Lots to do if you want. No staff bugging you to join activities if you preferred to just chill. Food was the best. Been to many resorts over the years, only once have we had food this good. Rooms were adequate and like the resort itself spotless. En-suite was a little tight but served its purpose. Beach is small but very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Grand Decameron Montego Beach: great value

The place is 5 minutes from the airport which is very handy because next time we wont wait for the bus which was about 90 minutes before it left. The facilities are older but very functional. The food was quite good and very different every day. The day time activities were generally fun. The evening show was nothing special but they tried. Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Good but not the best

The grand be here Principe is a good resort room service was good, The resort was kept well groomed and clean most of the bartenders were good but somewhere dicks Especially by the main pool area. The types of alcohol on the family side sucked and could use some improvement. The types of alcohol on the Luxury side are awesome.The beaches are clean but small and there are a lot of rocks but still good. Sunscape Splash: Excellent Staff

We just spent a week here with a large group for a wedding. The staff were excellent. Very friendly. The resort was very well kept as well as the rooms. The adult pool was where we spent most of our time . It was perfect. The beach was small and cramped. The food at the buffet was great .

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Great resort

This resort was amazing, very clean and the entertainment crew was the best. Made me and my family feel very comfortable and made us feel very welcome as well. Definitely will come again next year. Btw music was on point 85% of the time!

Hedonism II: A vacation spot where stress melts away!

We love Hedo! We know that this place may not be for everyone, but if you have ever wanted to vacation in a place where everyone is happy, respectful and friendly, give Hedo a try! The beach is beautiful and the water warm! The food is great and most importantly the staff is amazing! They are caring, attentive and fun to be around. If every place was like Hedo, the world would be a very kind place. It is everything you think it is!

Jewel Paradise Cove: Small, quiet, good value

Well kept facilities. Room was small but clean with lots of closet/drawer space. Premium liquors in bars. Food selection was small but good quality. Internet connection throughout the resort. Staff were all very friendly and efficient.

Riu Ocho Rios: Enjoyable stay

Beautiful Resort. As always the RIU has great food. The buffet had an amazing selection for breakfast and dinner. The steakhouse was fantastic. I enjoyed a very tender steak that was equal to a fine dining steakhouse here in Canada. I went twice. The salad bar was also amazing. A well managed resort. The service was great in all food areas and pool bars. The service and cleaning staff kept the place spotless. Everyone was friendly. The nightly entertainment was varied with musicia [... read more]ns and dancers. Of special note was open mike night. A great way to end one's day. It goes without saying the pool area and beach were clean and beautiful. I had such a great vacation that I booked a stay at a RIU in Panama.

Jewel Paradise Cove: Amazing resort

A really nice resort, very well organized and maintained, with helpful and friendly personal. The area is a beautiful garden with a great variety of plants and picturistic boardwalk along the sea. There are two not very big, but nice sand beaches. My wife and I had an enjoyable stay there. Unfortunately the weather conditions did not permit us to take included snorkeling trips.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Beautiful Resort

Beautiful resort, great food, amazing staff! This resort is very large and expect a lot of walking and stairs. The beach is amazing but a walk to get there. A lot of activities daily. Pool is kept clean and have 2 pool bars. Great for kids as they have an entire water slide park and kid shows.

Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: Good family resort

Great resort for families...we stayed here with our boys ages 9 & 6. Had a really fun time at the water park and enjoyed everything about this place. Beach is large and crystal clear. Food was good and staff friendly. No complaints Would definitely recommend and hope to return.

JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar: Iberostar Grand, not so grand, sorry this is so long......

Just got back from Grand Rose Hall, a group of 6. The weather terrific, beach okay. Water nice, warm, shallow, lots of people enjoying the water every day. Sand is more coarse than other Caribbean beaches. No shells, no waves? Where are the waves? Arrival to the resort was smooth. Front desk staff was cordial but not over the top welcoming. I am not sure about the butler - did not do a thing for us. We had arranged our dinners prior to arrival. Rooms were fine, very similar to the Grand  [... read more]in Mexico and the Dominican, so no issues there. Most standard rooms have a view of the ocean, so don't pay for that. Room was musty smelling (bring incense) and hallways are very dark and carpeted and could use brightening up. Elevators as well could use some servicing - always one out of order, which was not comforting. What I found different from other 5 star resorts was the level of service and attention to detail. We received a phone call on our first day there asking us if we 'were part of the wedding party group'(we were not) - he did not call us by name so I was a bit suspicious. The second day I received a phone call from someone identifying themselves as a bellboy, again he did not use our names and they asked what time we wanted our suitcases picked up since he heard we were leaving tomorrow! - on day 2 of our vacation! I was not impressed. The other 2 couples did not receive any welcome phone call at all - asking if we were good and if we needed anything. Not sure what these people were doing? We ordered room service one morning for 7am. Hung the request on the door the night before as directed. Never came. Our friends had one miss as well. A disappointment in this level of service. We ate at all a la carte restaurants. We all managed to find something to eat. Not outstanding cuisine compared to other Grand resorts. Dress codes here are not enforced. People came into Italian and Gourmet restaurants wearing shorts and flip flops. Why have a dress code? We ate in the buffet one evening for Italian night.... just ok. Breakfast buffet is fine - not the selection as other resorts we have been to, but always something to eat. Lunch buffet was probably the best food. House wine is limited compared to other Grand's. Poolside was nice enough- 3 good sized pools showing some wear with many missing tiles, but it never felt crowded. We got our space by the pool every morning without issue. Mind you, we were up at 7am to secure spots while my husband went to grab coffee from the shop at the resort next door. Floaters, not a lot of them but we managed to share a few each day. ( Better yet, bring your own.) Some days they asked for your room number some days they did not? It's not like I am taking it home. Sunscreen is provided at the towel hut if you don't mind cross contaminating. (not for me) A lovely lady behind the counter will even do your back and the top of your head - if you ask. Poolside service was intermittent at best, not the ladies fault, not well staffed. When they did come around, they were lovely. Some issues with straws. The resort does ask that you refrain from using straws since it is contributing to plastic getting into the ocean, but if you ask a waiter they usually oblige. Day 1- can I have a straw, no problem. Day 2- can I have a straw, no problem. Day 3- can I have a straw, "NO there are no straws here" ( The beautiful girl in the bikini beside us had no problem getting a straw but for us it was a NO). Not sure about the selective straw issuance? (BYOS) As an aside, we were all pretty good about using only 1 straw a day! We like to sit outside for breakfast, a group of 6. No problem on day 1, no problem on day 2, on day 3 when we asked, the staff said "No, we do not seat 6 outside". Not sure what that was about? Turn down service was hit and miss as was daily room make up. I think we had one or the other but not both. Not sure why this was such a problem? Stocking the room was fine but not to Mexico standards. When we were checking out, we arranged a wakeup call the night before. They called us at 5am and hung up and then called at 6, the correct time. We arranged for the bell boy to pick up our luggage at 7 - he never showed. We took our own luggage down. When we got down there, there was not a bellboy to be seen. At the counter, they just checked some papers and said - let me cut off your bracelet. No real warm good-bye or come again soon? Some of these issues may sound petty, but cumulatively it was disappointing service for what we paid for. No worries man, we won't be returning..... Our group loved the sun and the opportunity to be together, but not impressed overall by the service, food, or beverages. We were disappointed in the resort compared to other Grand's and Excellence resorts (which we love) -which are way above this level of service and care.

Riu Reggae: Riu doesn’t disappoint

The grounds are beautiful. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The bar staff are the best and can literally make anything! The rooms are clean and spacious. Not a huge resort if that’s what you are looking for. Best feature is 7 mins from airport..at your hotel and on the beach in no time!! No 1..1.5 hr bus ride.
