Melia Costa Rey: Good resort to stay

Excellent swimming pools, grounds needs attention, poor to no grass, fences need mending pathway to and from facilities and beach poor, lobby elevator in poor shape for most of the week was not operational. Beach towels old we received one set with a hole and in another occasion with bleach stains. Found snack restaurants table mats with stains on several occasions. Ground tiles broken and chipped . Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great Place

The beach area was lovely, lots of room for shade. The food there was decent, but definitely was better than expected. The staff are extremely kind and friendly. The rooms were great too, and were very clean

Melia Costa Rey: Overall good!

Beach is beautiful, staff are friendly and food was decent - lots of options, bbq snack bar on the beach was awesome..resort was not super well maintained and you can tell it’s starting to require lots of maintenance but overall one of the best resorts I have been to in Cuba- entertainment staff were awesome including the shows and the lobby was cool to hang out in - Loved how the lobby was raised and could see the entire resort - I just wish the cleaning staff were a little more thorough wi [... read more]th their cleaning! The a la cartel restaurants were ok, our favourite was the French restaurant!

Tryp Cayo Coco: Mediocre Resort

The food at this resort was terrible - no one goes to Cuba for the food but there was no variety in the food and the lunch and supper buffet were the same everyday. There wasn’t enough food for guests because locals would take all of it and the food you did get was either served cold or undercooked. The whole hotel was run down and not well taken care of. They were short staffed and the staff that were there were not friendly (except a few). The resort was over run with locals while we were th [... read more]ere and they were rude - throwing bread into the pool for the birds while people were swimming, the kids were going around dumping cigarette butts into the pool and peoples drinks. No water pressure or warm water ever. The only good thing I have to say about the resort was the entertainment was good.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Disappointing second visit to same resort

Well, our rule is not to go twice to the same resort, as typically second trip turns out yo be worse- for some reason standard drops as the time goes by. We had to do this trip as my daughter and her fiancé met in this resort 2 years ago. The visit was disappointing as the service definitely got worse. I have reported 8 times remote was not working ( for already such a small tv, we could barely see it) it’s [... read more] in the room 7210- I bet it still isn’t fixed; balcony door could not lock, two days in a row we did not get towels, room was not cleaned ( moth behind the door was there for 4 days); food in the buffet was spoiled ( almost every night something was stale and spoiled), bread was dry and hard like a rock, butter bowl was regularly empty( and would not be filled till requested), cats were allowed inside the restaurant, bar service was inconsistent ( things were available depending of who worked); entertainment in the lobby was minimal ( 1 night out if 6); catamaran trip we purchased was very disappointing - definitely not value for the $$- we were on the very small boat and taken to beach that was full of garbage(!!)...these are just some highlights of the trip... the stories shared by at least 6 families we met were as long list of different type of issues ( flood in the room,blood on towels, dirt etc)

Hotel Mojito: Mojito Memories!

Fabulous resort with gorgeous beach, lovely pool and grounds and very friendly staff. Stayed here twice now and will definitely be back! Rooms are very large and clean. Wonderful value for the money.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Great trip!

Great place, great people, food was decent but the same all week. Avoid the juice at the restaurant. Beach and pools were gorgeous and the room was beautiful and well kept. All of the staff were amazing!

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Amazing resort

Every thing was 👌 the view was stunning very nice room but service wasn't great but other than that it was perfect thanks for everything I will go back next time 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Melia Costa Rey: Overall Disappointment

The resort itself is very nice and the beach is beautiful. This was our first experience at a family resort as 2 adults we usually travel to adult only resorts. To our surprise the kids weren't a huge issue of course there were times at the swim up bar where they were annoying as the parents were drinking and they were running around but most of the time not a big concern. During our 1 [... read more]4 day stay this resort ran out of beer, vodka, wine, fries, ketchup and the most important for a hot destination they ran out of ICE. Yes several bars on site ran out of ice. I cannot stress enough how horrible it is to drink warm drinks, when they had those drinks that is. The strangest thing is you could walk across the resort and get ice at one bar or another but they wouldn't bring ice or beer or vodka to the bars that were out. Such a simple thing, you run out at one bar you get a truck to bring it over to another bar. Lack of service IMO. The line up at the bar at peak times is unacceptable. Management needs to staff the resort properly. There is a general lack of staff at key times. Check in, late night snack bar, all bars all under staffed. The toilet paper situation is ridiculous. Most times there is none in any of the public bathrooms. They have a beach party with 150 people and lock all the closest bathrooms make you walk across the resort and none of the 6 bathrooms have toilet paper. When I go to the front desk I'm told to go back to my room to use the bathroom there. No joke. How hard is it to stock TP. The rails on the walkways to the beach are in such a sad state several guests fell thru them and injured themselves during our stay. We heard during our stay they were fully booked but I feel they must know this before guests arrive and adjust accordingly. During our excursion we spoke to guests at other hotels and they had no issues with beer liquor or food concerns, which leads me to believe this is a management issue not a supply issue. The pools are very dirty and the swim up pool bar is borderline dangerous with missing and sharp tiles throughout and on the stools. It was horrendous. The pizza at the snack bar is terrific and those guys are the hardest workers in the resort. The a la carte food was also very good and the cappacino was wonderful. However overall I would never recommend this resort to anyone based on our experience.

Melia Cayo Coco: Beautiful and relaxing atmosphere

Stayed at resort May 4-11. Perfect weather all week. Beach is amazingly beautiful. Food at the buffet was excellent. Fresh meats and fish are cooked at your request with a good variety every night. All waiters and cooks were friendly. Overall, service across the resort was excellent. Rooms are dated but very clean. Only small drawback was the inconsistency of mixed drinks at the bars. Some bartenders were excellent, others looked like they rather be home. It pays to tip, be friendly and c [... read more]hat up bartenders to get the drinks made to your liking. Resort is small and compact so you can walk easily to all areas. Would definitely return to the Melia.

Starfish Cayo Guillermo: It's still Cojimar - No matter what the name change

If you are looking for a laid back resort, with few fellow tourists, this might be the resort for you. This is our 12th visit to Gran Garibe, and we have returned, not so much for the resort, but for the people that are employed there. We love the Staff. We try and get one of the older bungalows right down by the beach. The buildings are the oldest on the resort, but what the heck, they are right on the beach... You can always find something to eat - Breakfast, always the best, lunch, try the pool bar, supper, try the Italian Restaurant - limited menu , but good. We go for the beach, you can walk from Gran Caribe all the way down to the Sol - 6kms.

Hotel Camino del Mar: Magical Place!

Melia Cayo Guillermo was an amazing experience! The staff is so nice, fun and friendly. The grounds and beach are beautifully kept. The Buffet food was very good and always different and the a la cartes were absolutely amazing. The pool and beach had many beach chairs, papalas, umbrellas so we always had a place to sit, and the boardwalk was so nice to sit on during the day or night. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Enjoyable holiday!!

We had an amazing week in Cuba! The beaches at Cayo Coco are the best we have seen in all our travels south. The people were very friendly and spoke English very well. The food was plenty, just not the variety we are so used to having in an all inclusive resort, but for what we paid we all agreed we had a great holiday in the sun & sand!! The best part, only 20 minutes from the brand new airport!!! Linda Cameron

Resort was nice, not to big, not to small...beach was beautiful...Very slow check in, no order at all, but if you were a cute girl, you could jump in line....not enough customer service reps (25 couples checked in at 9pm) total chaos.... Arrived on a Wed, ran out of beer by Sat... No exchange towels for 4 days, Mosquitos galore.. I still dont think it was the one I ordered, I think they just went to the buffet and got a cake, and loaded it with whipped cream..Anyhow, it all worked out...Overall it was a great trip, Not sure if we would go back, still love the Melia chain...They take much better care of their patrons...This resort needs alot of tweeking to make it a 4 star, let alone a 4.5 to which it is rated...

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Great time

The staff are superb, the rooms, grounds, pool and beach are all well maintained. If you are in need of sand, Sun and the sea then by all means go. The food in Cuba generally comes in for criticism due it's blandness. I don't have that complaint. Unlike other places in the region Cuban cuisine is by contrast a staple of meat, rice and beans with little spice, peppers or exotic sauces. Should you wish to have a gastronomic experience each time you eat then there are other options for you in the  [... read more]Caribbean. But if all you wish is for the food to be fresh, and available in quantity then the food will sustain you, and your stay will be an enjoyable one because all of one's basic needs are met. Each of the other elements l've mentioned come together to make going there worthwhile. The pristine beach, the all day Sun and life affirming Sun sets make Caya Coco a go-to.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: It was ok more of 3-31/2 star

We have been to aberostar in Veradero it was much better This resort was lacking staff they were hand washing dishes,cups and glasses. They did not have clean towels for two days. The food was ok could have been better

Melia Costa Rey: Amazing

This was an awesome place to go. Evening entertainment for every taste. Staff very courteous and welcoming. Not a lot of selection in buffet but the food actually had taste and was very good. Never experienced good food like this in Cuba. Pools are extremely clean and beach was to die for. Amazing beach. No need to save place at beach as there are more than enough shade and chairs.

Melia Costa Rey: Pullman Cayo Coco

This vacation at the Pullman was fantastic.This is our 5th time at the resort and everything was wonderful.I have not one negative thing to say.The beach,room,food,staff was all amazing.Truly home away from home.We will certainly be returning.5 star in my books. I will recommend by word of mouth

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great Location but disappointing staff

I loved this resort, partying all night with friends and sleeping in a surprisingly great room with water pressure and no bugs. The only issue was the uninviting staff, aside from the lobby bartenders who were loads of fun. The food was definitely not great but I was too busy having fun to care! At night the resort can be a little boring but a nightclub is just a shuttle away where I spent 5 amazing nights getting loaded.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Nice beaches

The beach was amazing and the rooms were cleaned to a very high standard every day The food was not good and we weren't even sure what we were eating most of the time. They ran out of alcohol at some of the bars numerous times through the week. The entertainers worked really hard and it was well presented but it was all the same every night no variation at all. Pools had green algae in a couple of days.
