Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Great resort

Food : 5/5 Rooms :5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Staff:5/5 Pools:5/5 Beach:4/5 Nothing to complaint about. Beach is nice but the water is not as blue and clear as other resorts. Other than that it is a really nice resort

Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Good vacation

Hotel was well attended to re: grounds, pools, and rooms. Service in buffet and beach restaurant I'd say was fair. Not much attention was given during the vacation - hence not much tipping. The Golden Service upgrade was very helpful - for check in, access to computers, and assistance with medical appointment and medicine when my daughter was sick.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Awesome resort

Very beautiful palace like resort!! Service is impeccable and every employee encountered were amazing , kind and helpful. The food was all delicious, à la carte and buffets, especially the jerk chicken in The Pisces restaurant by the beach. Great pools but even better beach!! The room and view was beautiful! It was our second time at the Bahia in Runnaway Jamaica and we will go back!!!

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Fell in love with this place!

We loved everything about this resort! The lush tropical feel, the access to multiple resorts, the outstanding service and the fantastic food! The only thing we would change is the distance from the airport. It took over an hour, but was still well worth it! We already look forward to returning!

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Very relaxing week at the Bahia Principe El Portillo

Had a very pleasant March Break at the Bahia Principe El Portillo near Samana DR. Also very grateful for the support of Tripcentral.ca that assisted us with the booking and provided great support and follow up. Having vacationed at All Inclusives throughout the Caribbean over the past 20 years, this resort will be remembered by my wife, daughter and I as being among the best we have enjoyed. Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Relaxing!

This resort has a much quieter vibe than those on the other side of the highway. Internal trolley transportation is excellent, so never an inconvenience to travel to beach, restaurants shopping area. Food and service top notch. Loved the yoga in the residential area that is adjacent to Sian Ka'an, and available to resort guests.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Not so grand for me

I arrived at Grande Bahia El Portillo on March 5 ready for my week of solitude on the beach. I got settled in my room and walked around the beautiful resort. My first few days were fantastic...sunshine, cold beer, great food and relaxation. March 6 power out in my room at 10:30pm...looked outside other rooms had lights. It was back on within 1/2 hour. March 7 I noticed bites that were fresh & itchy in the morning....bedbugs. March 8 I asked that my bedding be changed...front desk said give u [... read more]s an hour and we will fumigate & change bedding. I asked if it would be safe for me to return to room...I was told yes. 1 & 1/2 hours later nothing was done so I told front desk I would wait in room for housekeeping. They did come clean and change all bedding...no fumigation. March 8 power out again for 1/2 hour in the morning. March 8 to bed then up during the night feeling ill (diarrhea) & I found a big cockroach on bathroom floor. I managed to trap it under a glass. I was ill and weak so I decided not to do anything until the morning. March 9 I was moved to another room but the new room did not have a deadbolt. I was ill & exhausted so I chose not to pursue that problem. March 10 I went to customer services to return restaurant reservations...I wasn’t able to eat. They did offer medical support but I didn’t have patience for the detailed questionnaire. My choice and I accept that...I was ill, weak and feeling miserable. Grateful that my sister drove over an hour to bring me some medication. I went to buffet to get a few things to take back to my room...I was told I could fill a plate, it would be delivered and I must tip the person who delivers the food....really! I spent the better part of 4 days in my room ill, weak and miserable. March 11 I spoke with the Transat rep to get information about flight on March 12. I started to tell him about my experiences over the week expecting some empathy...all he did was berate me for not informing him sooner. I tried to explain I had dealt directly with hotel staff regarding my concerns but I did not get any understanding or compassion from the Transat rep...it was very disheartening. I have travelled to the Dominican Republic many times for more than 40 years sometimes staying with family and sometimes staying at a resort. I am sure many people enjoy this resort but I will not be returning...for me it has been forever tainted!

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Great Resort

The hotel is quite large but we found it incredibly easy to find our way around . The grounds are exquisite , lush and very clean. The hotel has a tram which runs continually, you never wait longer than 5 mins for a ride . The pools and beaches are wonderful , lots of entertainment ! Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Ok resort

It was too big staff rarely said hello had to avoid time share people when we to the buffet. I got a stomach flu where I was in bed for 2 days and it never really went away. Entertainment was good room was big food was Ok until I got sick then I couldn't eat at all. Also to many smokers near the lobby. I was expecting better service for a 4.5 star. Over all I would not go back.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Tres beau resort

Bel hotel, très propre. Le personnel est courtois, toursjours un Hola quand ils nous voit. La plage est juste wow. Comme le complexe comprends plus d`un Bahia c`est gros mais le service de navette est efficase pour ceux qui ne veulent pas marcher.

Resort was perfect for us. Adults only. We enjoy occasionally smoking cigars and resort is smoke friendly. Food amazing. Room and service nice. Negatives - 2 hours from airport. Restaurant reservations difficult to get.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Beautiful resort

The grounds were beautifully manicured, lots of variety and colour making walking around on the resort very pleasant. the food, hospitality of all staff and the room were wonderful. Air transat staff were also very helpful.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great vaca

Great resort. Family group of 10. Very clean great food and entertainment was awesome. No complaints The staff worked very hard. The grounds were well maintained. Great variety of food choices. Very conscious of food allergies

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Absolutely wonderful!!

This is our second visit to a Bahia. The first in Punta Cana and the second in La Romana. The hotels are very consistent in their service overall. I cannot say enough about the people and the staff - warm, genuine and welcoming! We tipped well not because we had to but because we wanted to and the staff deserved it.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Nice resort, very big, but had a few issues, and Beach not great!

We flew out of Hamilton, On, which was great. Arrived and had to wait to get our room, which was fine. Our room was on ground floor and the first thing we noticed was the room was full of mosquitoes. We had brought spray, but that really didn't do anything. They seemed to come from sink and AC unit. Every day there seemed to be more. The ground floor AC unit didn't seem to get very cold after the first day, but we lived with it. We had mentioned about the bug issue and some one said the hote [... read more]l would spray. So we called after the 3rd day, no one ever came after asking a couple times. 2nd day the maid never came. We always left a tip in fridge and a note with goodies and $ for maid everyday. she didn't come our last day either. By the end of the week the AC and bugs were getting horrible so went to front desk to ask someone to deal with them. Again no one ever came. Last night we wanted a half decent sleep before travelling so we asked to have the AC looked at again, No one ever came by. The rooms other wise were fine, pools were nice, workers around resort great, food good, Tullum resort had the better buffet. Queen tribute was awesome. drinks ok, but would have liked a bit better fancier drinks, but it was still great service and depending on what bar you were at was better selection,depended on what they could make well. I would say Mediterranean was best al a carte. Beach isn't great compared to Cuba and Punta Cana. Weather was awesome and Mexico is very nice. I think I would try a different resort next time.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: A True Gem

First time staying a Bahia Principe property. The staff were AMAZING. This so evident in the way we were treated as guest. It was as if everyone loved their job. It wasn't about them but rather how they could best serve us and make our stay a joy. Mission accomplished. The Siam Ka'an was one of the resorts on the property with access to the other two resorts, shuttle service prompt and driven by lovely drivers and engaging music. Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: We had a very nice time!

House wines were much better than last year, which was our only real complaint at that time. Food was excellent and a good selection of bar stock - could maybe expand on rum selections though. Our room was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed spending each day at the "solo adultos" beach with fantastic weather. Resort staff do a great job cleaning up the seemingly never ending seaweed deposits each day. A la carte restaurants were excellent - our favourites are Arlequin (gourmet) and the Japane [... read more]se restaurant at Sian Khan. Too bad we often weren't able to finish the generous portions. We will look forward to coming back again. One pretty minor complaint - please put more wall hooks in rooms/bathrooms for towels, toiletry bags, etc.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Would recommend this Resort. Give it a 8 1/2 out of 10

Short trip from airport.....20 minutes. This is always important for us. This Resort and surrrounding resorts were beautiful. We could walk to several, use their pools and enjoy drinks. Unable to eat at their buffet, which we understood. Grounds were kept immaculate and were so lush. Our room with the 4 poster canopy king size bed was lovely and comfortable. Also, had a sitting area within, which we appreciated. The selection of food was amazing and the presentation was beaut [... read more]iful. I refer to the area as a compound. It had a total of 7 resort. It was well laid out and there was a tram "hop on and hop off" which got us around very quickly and easily. Also, to the beach which was a bit of a walk from our VILLA. But we were a 7 min. walk to 2 pools. There was a beautiful water fountain in the centre of the compound. We are considering going back next winter and booking at the Esmeralda Resort. Should conclude the review with one challenge: Didn't appreciate the loud music every where. Also, found the stage area had a very poor sound system. But, then see my age below. I even took at into consideration!!

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: VERY POOR SERVICES AND RUDE STAFF

The rooms were nice and clean, however the ladies who changed the sheets were always busy chatting in the hallway, and got to clean the room at 4-5 pm (even if the room was close to the lobby) at the time we were taking a shower, wanted to rest and get ready for dinner. My husband had to contact the reception a few times to send s-one over to clean the room. The staff were acting as if they hated their job, were rude and talked down on their guests. We complained a few times about the quality of [... read more] services. My son got sick, and I was not allowed to take food into the room, the staff acted as if they did not care. My children slept in the morning of our departure, and we arrived at the buffet 3 minutes after their closing at 10:30 am, and we were not allowed to enter. My children had to wait for lunch to have something to eat even if they complained they were hungry. There are Jamaican contractors on site and other young Jamaican men going around the resort, and my daughter was sexually harassed while sitting at a restaurant table by one of them. She had to run all the way to the reception to alert the security. She also filed an incident report. We will definitely not return to this resort.
