Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: The Resort was ok...
the pools were great and awesome beach but 3 out of 4 treadmills were broken. The food here were the worst I've ever had, and this was my 6th trip to Cuba. We couldn't a good breakfast (no pancakes). It was the same kind of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Melia Las Antillas: Beautiful Resort
The room, staff were excellent and the food was the best we've had in Cuba. Loved the beach and the pool. The only bad part was that the music with the entertainment was much to loud. It was so loud that it came to a point that we couldn't hear or understand the proformer. It does not need to be so loud. The guest are not far away from the stages. Louder is not better. We ended leaving then stopped going. Also I was disappointed in the Lobby Bar restroom. There was toilet paper instead of paper [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Amazing beach
Hotel was beautiful. The beach was amazing. Food so so. It’s Cuba. Weather was great. Hotter everyday. Our maid was awesome. The resort was very clean and has well established gardens. Very beautiful.
Sol Cayo Coco: Great resort
Great small resort. Staff are amazing, food was repetitive, but good. rooms were layed out good. Balcony. beach was nice. With lots of huts on beach. The entertainment/ shows could have been a little better. I would go back there
Melia Marina Varadero: Beautiful beach, food less than satisfactory
I have lower expectations for Cuba having been there 8 years ago. It took multiple calls to multiple people to get my sink stopper fixed. I wonder how many of the big shots at Melia are sleeping on pillows ? made up of a few layers of quilt batting ! Beautiful location, friendly staff, I just don't think they get support from corporate. Food poor at buffet, a la carte restaurants good. Beach restaurant with fish on sign and called 'Pescadore' (fish) had no fish. Very safe , sunny and 75 all wee [... read more]
Melia Marina Varadero: Beautiful resort!
It is a beautiful spot and well maintained ground. Room is clean although it is not brand-new. Service staff is well trained. Sunwing's on site rep is exceptionally good. Unfortunately, the food is almost uneatable. We realized that it has more to do with the general condition of the country; it is difficult for any chef to cook with non-fine-milled flours, rough rice and no fresh vegetable except cabbage and carrots. Cubans are very warm, nice and happy people.
Hotel Vigia: sol cayo guilermo
The resort is nice people are very nice first night of arrival the older at front man was kind of rude he gave us a room that sliding door could not open and front door was broken. next day went to front desk they told us to come back at 3 to get a better room which they did give us and it was nice ocean view sliding was hard to open but it did,There was a little problem with very small ants but that did not bother us we did let that ruin our trip also air condition was leaking water but what di [... read more]
Sol Cayo Santa Maria: Disappointed in this resort
We visited this resort back in 2015 and that is why we chose to return to this specific resort but we were disappointed this year.... Half the resort was closed which translated to at least half the services..... it should have been advirtised that it was half closed. A lot of the staff were busy on their phones or talking to each other....We didn't get beach towels for 4 days, had to fight to get bottled water in our room, had to change rooms twice because the first one wasn't what we had booke [... read more]

Sol Palmeras: Amazing Resort
Never dissapointed at Sol Palmeras, the layout is perfect east to het around. The gardens are beautiful constantly being cared for. The pools are cleaned and cared for all day long. The beach is stunning and the sand is silky for your walks. In my opinion the best ala Carter’s were the Italian and Chinese, I was disappointed that the seafood and steakhouse were not open. The rooms were spotless. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. This was my 3rd time to Sol Palmeras and I can’t [... read more]
Melia Jardines del Rey: Horrible Resort
12 hour delay through Air Canada. No pool towels for days. Bottom floor in our Villa and it smelt like sewage the whole entire time. Lost power for a whole night. The whole resort ran out of bread for days. Ran out of champagne. Staff were rude and not friendly at all including front desk. We will never go back there!
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Reliable Quality
Our third visit to Melia Cayo SM, after a few years absence. Facilities in excellent shape, reflecting upgrades visible on exterior finish, grounds, and interiors. Staff as always charming and attentive. Location exceptional: glorious sea, broad clean beach, pools very comfortable. Drinks very good, food fine if one is selective: the basic materials mostly good, but finish uneven. We were disappointed that the menu in our favorite place- the resto overlooking the beach- has been shrunk. Nonethel [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: 5/5 except for food..
Hotel itself is beautiful. Beach is amazing, grounds and buildings well kept, pool was always clean and so nice. Our hotel room was average (our shower head sucked, but otherwise no issues). Maids always kept clean and never had any issues with our room. Staff all around were very kind, best staff was at the snack bar and cigar bar. Very quick, kind, and friendly. Some of the staff at the lobby bar were quite rude, one instance I asked a female bartender for water because we didn't have any more [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great resort
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar is a great resort! The grounds are kept fantastic, there is always someone cleaning common areas and the bathrooms. Our room was in villa #6 (the newly refurbished villa # 6, yes there are two villa #6's). Our room was #6327, new bed and furnishings, mattress was quite hard but new, 2 double beds which we kept sliding together, so a king would have been prefferable. Bathroom had a walk in shower, and was ample size. We had an ocean view in the distance, which was [... read more]
Melia Marina Varadero: Great Resort!
My 16-year-old daughter and I stayed at the Melia Marina Varadero for 5 days. It was a great experience. The resort is very clean, our room was lovely and the view overlooking the pool and ocean was amazing!! Special shout out to our maid Barbara who would leave us notes and left our room looking incredible every day. The buffet was ok, we always found something to eat. We ate at two a la carts – Mediterranean and Latin, both were very good. I spoke to folks who upgraded to The Level [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: A resort more for older folk!
Overall the resort was good. But we are in our 60s and felt young! It’s nice it’s adults only but it isn’t for a younger age group. We would not consider it to be a 5 star, but I suppose for Cuba it is....it’s in need of some repairs and paint. We had requested a room not on ground level and upon checkin were given ground level but our request to change it was quickly done. The room is nice but the steps from one level to the other are a safety hazard in my opinion. We found the buffet [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Good for cuba
We had issues with our room, no hot water two days, water dripping from ceiling door hard to open from outside. The buffet had decent food but the al cart restaurants were very poor especially the international, we walked out. Pool was nice but had some algae growing in corners on bottom all around the swim up bar, beach is nice for walking or lying on but lots of rocks getting in and out. Would we return, not a chance but is better resort we have stayed at in Cuba
Melia Marina Varadero: Not 5 Stars
Our room was quite run down. I was surprised that the Melia Marina was advertised as 5 stars. They also said that they have tennis courts so being tennis players we brought our racquets and balls. We were told the tennis courts were “brokenâ€. The customer service arranged for us to play at a nearby resort but when we got there the security person had not heard anything about us so wouldn’t let us in. We had a late night flight and since we had to check out of our room at noon we used o [... read more]
Melia Marina Varadero: Fun, interesting and the unexpected
We had booked a Studio marina view however on arrival we were given a pool view with an upgrade to the Level which was a fair trade and we were pleased with the extras the Level comes with. A la carte restaurants are not any better than the buffet which is adequate but not for a fussy foodie. Staff were amazingly friendly and accommodating. Pool and beach both very nice..
Melia Jardines del Rey: Great place
Clean , good food, friendly staff , beautiful beach , entertainment was entertaining, great value would return for sure . lots of seating at the beach sunsets activities food drinks sail boats beach towels was the only downfall
