Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Well worth it!

You can’t beat the powder beach sand and warm, turquoise water. The resort was excellent. The staff were amazing and the accommodations were good. It’s Cuba so a degree of latitude must be given. The food was good overall and better than we expected given all that we read about Cuban resort cuisine. I have no hesitation recommending Royalton Cayo Santa Maria. Also, Tripcentral was excellent in booking our trip from start to finish.

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Great resort layout!!!

Amazing pools, great beaches, food was alright, overall a great trip. Has many pools for all types and plenty of room on beaches. Would recomment and go again. Staff very friendly. Ground well maintained.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Great resort!

We stayed at Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria from April 3rd to the 10th. It's a really pretty resort with a small but great beach. We always got a chair and we were lucky to get umbrellas most days. We didn't use the pool but it was a large, beautiful area. The Pool Grill was amazing,,,food so tasty and we'll prepared! We really enjoyed the music in the lobby every evening and it was a favourite spot most nights. The bar area was very busy but had lots of staff to fill orders. We found the buffet  [... read more]wonderful for breakfast, didn't have lunch there but food at dinner was pretty much the same most evenings. The pasta station was popular and areas where food was cooked for you but the buffet was fairly bland. Our rooms were clean and comfortable with good space for your clothes. We did get a lot of bug bites and seemed that after using spray the bites continued so be prepared! All in all we had a great week and would definitely go back!

Melia Las Dunas: Pleasantly surprised!

First time in Cuba. Definitely will return to this resort. Good choice of food, beach was best ever, staff very friendly,enjoyed excursions. Also airtransat was very accomodating.Cant wait till next year!

Valentin Perla Blanca: Not so amazing

grounds were not too bad but they are still fixing up....rooms were clean...most of the workers were very nice....food was good in all the restaurants beaches clean but had no shade ........had problems with safe for 2 days before it was actually working properly on the 3rd day ....no hot water for 5 days only warm ....had to go to front desk 3 times before we had keys that worked...no hydro in room last day of our stay...asked for 2nd floor got only the 3rd so a lot of climbing to get to our [... read more] room all the time(we are in our 60's)...sunwing rep was not very nice....had to settle for little shopping place --trip into a bigger one was at least 2 hours away ---spent about 1/3 of my vacation in my room waiting for maintance man who half the time never showed up--- not real happy--would never go back or reccomend anyone to go there for at least 2-3 years before they get all the kinks out of it

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing Resort

The scenery is absolutely breathtaking! The rooms are very nice and very clean. All resort Staff were extremely friendly and aim to please. A little peice of paradise you don't want to miss out on. If you haven't been here make a must see on your destination list.

Melia Las Dunas: Amazing resort

This resort was great. Great staff,very helpful. Beach was amazing. Al la carte not so great. Needs new Italian. Maybe a steak house restaurant. The actives were great. Great staff doing activities. The nightly shows were great. Internet not that great. Would be nice for improvement.

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Nice place

Ocean is the best!!! If you like snorkeling this place is not for you. Room was good, cleaned every day. food was pretty good but repetitive.Nobody in my family had no stomach problems. A little bit slow service.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Great new and clean resort!

Hotel grounds are nice , with lot of new bushes and small palm trees, but very well kept and maintained. The beach is beautiful, nice sandy beach and clean clear water. There is not enough shade so you have to go very early to get a spot and not to be very far from the Beach Bar and Showers. Maybe that Bar should be located in the middle of the beach. We do not have complaints about buffet food, there was always something that we could eat. All workers were nice and polite. Live music at the lobby bar was great and Caribbean shows were very good.Weather was great, quite windy first few days but later hot and calm. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this resort for relaxed vacation.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Awesome vacation!

Hotel was very nice😀Clean ,and the pools and beach are simply beautiful!❤Considering the damage they sustained with the last hurricane, they have certainly done an amazing job rebuilding!☺Would definitely go back again! Thanks Carol Webber😀

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: very good choice

My husband and I and our friends enjoyed our 7 day stay at Casa Del Mar in Santa Maria Cuba. A few hiccups with the safe but nothing that would change my outlook on resort. The beach was fantastic and the bartenders were amazing. The shows were mediocre as it is not a large resort. The food was ok, I am limited due to allergies and didn’t go hungry but the buffet got repetitive as the week went on. Valentin Perla Blanca: Absolutely Amazing Resort!

I just returned from my second vacation at this resort - and totally loved it AGAIN! The hotel itself is very modern and relatively new (4 years old) and decorated tastefully. The grounds are immaculate with stunning gardens. The beach is amazing - exactly what we were looking for - sections that have bar service and food available, as well as more secluded sections for privacy. The staff are incredible and so very friendly and the service was impeccable. We have nothing to complain about and will return again and again to this same resort!

Valentin Perla Blanca: Fun and Relaxing!

Perla Blanca is divided into two parts. The party side, and the relaxing side. It suits people that require a place to unwind and enjoy the sun most!!. The beach on the quit side is better than the party side.The staff is amazing, the beach is incredible and the food was just fine. The property is great!

Valentin Perla Blanca: Trip to Cuba!

When we arrived at the resort it took approximately 1.5 hours to check in and get to our room. I think we got to our room at 2:30 am. I checked the sheets that appeared dirty. No sleep that night. The next day we had a problem with our toilet tank which was leaking. This was fixed quickly with no more issues. The sheets improved some without us complaining so maybe the room wasn't cleaned before we arrived. Not sure on that. We could always find a nice spot not too crowded on the beach. The water was lots of fun and warm. There was entertainment each night as well as some classes throughout the day (exercise, Spanish lessons).

Valentin Perla Blanca: Hotel was great but the beaches are the best

Beaches are amazing, staff was super friendly. Food was much better than expected, had heard Cuban resort food wasn't that good but no complaints here. Only thing was that our host was only there for an hour a day so if you missed that window you missed out on excursions.

Melia Las Dunas: Perfect value

There is really nothing to complain about: great rooms, wonderful food, beautiful and always clean beach. The only thing is probably communication between employees: we had a honeymoon there and a symbolic wedding ceremony there; everybody except the coordinator didn't know what exactly was going on and what we were supposed to get and why, but everybody we dealt with were exceptionally nice and tried to provide us with the services we didn't even need. If you are offered a reservation at one of their restaurants, they are fancy and service is great, but the food is MUCH better in their regular buffet.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful resort

My husband and I stayed here from March 20th - March 27th. Although the resort is beautiful in every way, there were some glitches, which led me to believe that there is no regard for guests staying at that resort. When I booked my trip, I specified that I needed to be situated close to everything, as I am waiting for a hip replacement. We were put in a room at the end of the resort. It took 2.5 days for us to get moved. It literally ruined my vacation. I told them that we were celebrating our anniversary and my husband's birthday. They did nothing. They were so busy that staff seemed overwhelmed. I must say that I was very impressed with Yousef, our Air Transat rep and the airline crew to and from Cuba. If it had not been for these glitches, I would recommend The Dhawa. Rooms are clean and beautiful. The beach is nice but small. Food, ok but desserts were amazing. The bellboy staff were great and Jorge, who ran the catamaran was wonderful.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: We LOVED this place!

We have been to Cuba many times over the years and we both agreed that this was our favourite of all the resorts we have visited. We liked that it was a smaller resort so it was easy to navigate and we never experienced any long line-ups for food, drinks, etc. The food was really good! The buffet had a good selection, good quality; the 24-hour snack bar was very good; lunches at El Ranchon near the beach were very good - we really enjoyed their vegetable salad and hot-off-the-grill (literal [... read more]ly) chicken, pork and vegetables, plus the view was amazing! Our room was very nice, clean and spacious and we always had a good supply of hot water for showers. Water, beer and pop were replenished daily. The people were fantastic! We have always found the Cuban people to be warm and welcoming anywhere we go, but they were doubly so at this resort. They were all so genuinely warm and friendly and happy. They were like family. We hated to leave and we are already making plans to return to this resort next time.

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful Grounds....

The grounds are being beautifully restored. Resort is a nice size, with bungalows being fairly centralized to everything. Walkways a bit bumpy underfoot in places, and carts always available to take you around if needed. Beach, as always is amazing, but not enough palapas and taking a seemingly long time to rebuild ? shortage of supplies? Beach towels supplied and plenty of loungers. Beach was cleaned regularly but like the pool area lazy tourists with expectations would leave their dishes  [... read more]and plastic cups for staff to clean up. Bar servers walked the beach to offer drink service. Chair service would be provided if you got there early enough in the morning. Pool areas were large and clean, again with exception of the messes the tourists would leave and also had a good supply of loungers. Public rest rooms and were clean and stocked with toilet paper, soap and sometimes paper towel in the dispensers. Bar service was usually fast and friendly with what appeared to be every kind of liquor imaginable. Spanish coffee was delicious at the lobby and childrens pool areas (Thank you Doney) Service at the beach bars was just as great for ice cold beer and the young lady at the pizza/beach bar to the right of the resort was absolutely the most attentive server I think I had ever seen ! Amazing service! Rooms were well appointed and spacious but slightly worn, always kept immaculately clean. Always hot water, towels and clean linen. Fridge was stocked daily. Coffee maker in the room was nice to have. Food at the buffet(s)was just OK, never really hot or sometimes warm as it should have been and line ups were exceptionally long for hot/fresh cooked food stations at the buffet. Often times all the dishes did not have their own utensils to portion out our meals and when asking for serving spoons or bread knives to cut the delicious bread there "were none" so people were having to use butter knives from their table setting to cut loaves of bread. Service at the buffet wasn't always spot on. Some perhaps fairly new and sometimes slightly aggressive staff asking for tips or gifts. Several times we had to ask servers to remove silverware used by previous diners and bring us clean as they would clear the tables but not always all the used utensils or wipe the tables down between guests. Those who knew their jobs knew them well and offered beautiful attentive service. The entertainment team on the beach everyday were welcoming, encouraging and energetic. The pool area seemed to liven up mid afternoon as they transferred from the beach to the pool. The magic show in the evening was great! Everyone has their own ideas for good entertainment, mine is more culturally based dance, music etc and there just wasn't enough of that for me. We can hear too loud rock music here at home. Overall the resort, staff and weather was beautiful. A few improvements in the food areas would make it top rated for me. I would most likely return as the price was right.

The resort was nice and the workers very friendly . The grounds were kept clean and the rooms. The food was good for Cuba the beaches were amazing there was lots of chairs. Entertainment was great, I would definitely go back to this resort.
