Iberostar Waves Quetzal: Incredible Resort!

The staff were attentive to all of our requests from planning a birthday decoration for my wife to getting the perfect cigar recommendations from the cigar man. The food was amazing, I gained weight from our visit because I couldn’t stop at just one plate at each meal. The cleanliness of everything was spot on.

Grand Sunset Princess: Did not disappoint

2nd time at this resort. Was as good as the first. Clean, well-maintained, Food was great. Rooms very comfortable. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Beach was good. Some storm damage (I think) but still fine.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Coba Stay

My third time at the resort and second time via Trip Central. Enjoyed my stay and everything was as intended. The resort is clean, the transfers were on time and documents were complete. I will revisit again for sure, stress free.

Stayed here twice before 2015-2016 resort needs some upgrading . food in buffet was not as good a-la carts hard to book property very clean rooms good staff friendly and attentive as always trip from air port very long app: 2-2 1/2 hrs. good holiday.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Good Resort

Stayed for 2 weeks from Dec 4 to Dec 18 and enjoyed the resort. Access to the restaurants was probably the best since they have about 20 theme restaurants and all of them were good. The Sian Ka'an was the best option if you don't have kids since it is very quiet but you can go to other parts of the resort if you want more activity, so you get the best of both worlds. The only down side (and I hope the resort addresses this) was rampant theft from the rooms by the workers. The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Second visit in 2022!

This was our second time at the Fives this year! We loved every minute of our vacation and would recommend to anyone. Close to the airport (45 mins max) bus from the airport to the hotel took forever to leave- in future I would pay for a private transport (airline fault not hotel). This time we stayed in Building 21 which is the farthest from the beach and close to the adult pool. Room was a 1 bedroom suite and the king size pull out was perfect for the 2 kids (11/13). So many options for food there is no way to go hungry. Kids loved the kids club and teens club for some alternative entertainment during the day. Beach was lovely and did not have nearly the seaweed it did in the spring. The staff work hard to ensure all pools and beach are clean. Damian at the Lizards pool was amazing. Our group of 12 never had an issue getting a reservation for dinner. We did Casa de Rosa with our kids and they loved it. So much fun and brought a fun cultural experience to the trip. We also did a day excursion through the hotel (Ruins, Cenote and snorkeling) it was very good and included lunch- price was reasonable for what you got and we would recommend.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Excellent trip

We had a nice quiet room with a swim out and great neighbours. If we had been by the main pool I would not have enjoyed myself or had a good, relaxing trip, as the main pool is a lively space during the daytime hours. The food at the restaurants was very good and the buffet had lots of selection. They bring in very good entertainment in the evenings (the fire show in particular is excellent) and the Mexican craft market was fun. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. The beach bar/restaurant was ravaged by a recent storm.

Barcelo Maya Palace: Beautiful resort

The resort is very nice and easy to get around, we stayed in a premium room oceanfront main floor. It was close to everything the à la cart. Restaurants are very good. The Japanese restaurant and the French restaurant were our favorites. The ocean and snorkelling were fantastic. We could not get a catamaran booked any of the days though you would have to get there by 9 o’clock to book and can only book same day. Sensira Resort and Spa: Best family resort

This hotel is absolutely everything for a family with kids under 14 or so. It has a small family feeling everything was great and lots to do all around The resort. It’s also very quite at night for kids to sleep and no one drunk or being crazy. Just a great place! Staff and resort was beautiful, the buffet was great and the restaurant were luxury feel type and so much fun

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Great Resort

The resort had lots for us to do kitty pool, waterslides big pool ocean it also had like pathways, free, walk and enjoy that offered other kinds of animals like ducks that wag their tails like dogs, kinkajou , some Coatis, we had monkey come down from the roof onto our patio. We did have some problems with some of the staff, we had four rooms booked, and they were all different places in the on the lot the rooms weren’t together at all they were all over. The food was OK wasn’t that great except for the Japanese restaurant was phenomenal. Room service took forever. The food was not that great. The options were not that great the room, however, was amazing. We had the separate room for the kids with the pool on the patio which was phenomenal. The only thing that really really sucked is that there are no elevators so my mother-in-law who’s in a wheelchair was stuck on the main floor away from everybody else on the third floor.

Catalonia Playa Maroma: Very pleasant experience

Hotel is a bit old , but is well maintained and the grounds are rich in vegetation . The service is very good and is not much to complain . There is some renovations in a few rooms going on but is understandable .

Paradisus La Perla Adults Only Riviera Maya: Areas to improve but overall great time

Flight good, transfer service to resort was not coordinated well, resort itself great though clearly still recovering post Covid times. Transfer service for travellers arriving from different places resulted in only one transfer logged for one of the travellers. I unfortunately was the other person. Felt stranded at airport trying to explain situation, and again same situation at the resort. My last 24 hours at the resort was spent in high stress.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Very satisfied

Grand Bahia Principe Coba is the least luxurious of the the 4 Principe resorts on the same property, but it is by no means a low budget resort. The grounds are pretty well kept, the service very good (from the trams service to transport people to different areas, the bar and maid service, to the staff at the a la carte restaurants), and the food was good also. We thought we booked early enough to get a our pick of the 3 a la carte reservations we were allowed, but I our choices were limited. We  [... read more]ended up booking Hindu Thali, Mediterranean, and Italian restaurants. All were very good! Btw, the beef carpaccio at the Italian was amazing! Drinks were overall good, but top shelf beverages were not readily accessible. I’m sure the other 3 resorts on Bahia Principe, being more luxurious, would have had better liquor. While I do have a bit of a taste for better liquor, I couldn’t complain about what was served to me. And the house wines were quite alright also. The room was large enough, had a coffee maker, fridge, jet tub/shower, large vanity and hair dryer. There was a small round table and 2 chairs. There was also a couch in that area. The king bed was comfy and the ac kept up all too well! The drawbacks I saw were: the pools were ok, not spectacular. The beach was a real hike to get to, so most would take the tram. There was only 1 small bar available for Coba guests at the beach, and no restrooms or snack bars for Coba guests. None of this really disappointed us, as we just planned ahead for such. The entertainment was typical for a resort, but was of better variety. The performers were very talented, and genuinely wanted to please. As far as COVID theatrics go: a few of the staff and some patrons still show their “abundant caution” and wear masks, but for the most part it felt “back to normal”. There were no undue pressures on anybody to “conform”. It was a very happy, hospitable and respectful environment. Overall, I would definitely recommend this resort. Great experience for both the budget minded and those who appreciate quality amenities and service.

Barcelo Maya Palace: A very lovely resort and setting

The good stuff...we stayed at the Palace and enjoyed premium class while there. There were 2 Alacarte's that we enjoyed as a large group (7 adults & 3 children). The French, Brasserie and the Italian, La Trattoria restaurants, both provided us with exceptional food and service. There is lots to keep the entire family busy, activities, swimming, snorkeling, including 3 resident sea turtles fronting the Palace. Both red & white are lower end wines. The Champagne is also on the low end of quality. The hard liqueur is good, however you must request top shelf or you will receive their standard supply. The resort could use some quick snack shacks near the beach...just to get a quick burger or hot dog...that's missing. So you have to go to a nearby restaurant if you want something to snack on and take out is not available. There is also no bar service on the beach. During our stay we did not encounter any problems regarding COVID protocol, everything seemed to be business as usual. Some of the servers did wear a mask, but most did not. Travelling to and from this resort is challenging, and can be frustrating as traffic jams are common and wait time is long.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Blue Bay Resort

Public areas were clean, Public bathrooms not very clean on a daily schedule. Our room 5338 had mold on the patio door curtains, Patio door lock broken, used umbrella to secure door at night. Bathroom vanity glass was blacken by moisture and mold (needs replacing asap). The Bar and dinning Staff (Roberta) were always very helpful. Didn't like how the Hotel Staff (Verona) harassed us about VIP/ timeshare prior to our check-in and wanting us to setup an appointment to meet with them for the n [... read more]ext day.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Value for money

The hotel is good value for money. The beach is non-existent (rocky, shallow, cannot really swim; must have water shoes) but there are two pools, weather is good and you can do some excursions. There are shows in the evening (inside the hotel, as well as outside; the hotel could do a better job to advertise them). Breakfast is from 7-11, omelettes are good, pastries could be improved. The Japanese restaurant is good. Skip Italian. You can use other beaches and spend time in other connected hote [... read more]ls but cannot get food and drink there. The room is clean. The safe in the room cannot be locked, bring your own lock for your suitcase. Don't forget a bottle of sunscreen. They sell it in the hotel, but the cheapest is 20 USD. AC can be a bit strong. All in all, I had a good stay.

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: very good resort for family with kids

The beach is amazing at Sandos Playacar, food was good, lots of drinks. What I didn't like was the entertainment, especially in the evening: the shows were scheduled at 9.30 pm. The room was big, with balcony.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Service second to none!

Long awaited daddy and daughter trip Dec 5-12 2022 Maya Riviera, Mexico Can’t deny it, it was great! So much fun swimming with Mya lol! Our room overlooks what’s called the infinity pool. It’s called the Infinity pool because when you’re in this pool and look to the ocean you cannot see the boarder of the pool and all you see in the ocean indefinitely. The ocean is about 30 meters away, 24hr snack bar with booze less than a one min walk away and 24hr room service. Overall, a great trip and nothing the hotel won’t do to please a guest! I wanted to eat at the steakhouse but unfortunately it’s for adults only. They went above and beyond so Mya my child could enjoy the fiest, They brought the meal to our room and Mya had a steak too, thanks Behia Principe, will see you again in 4 months!
