Riu Reggae: More a 4 star than a 5

I have never written a review before although my husband & I travel once or twice a year to all-inclusive resorts. The resort itself was spotless. The food in the buffet was very good. The a-la-carte restaurants were much the same as the buffet. For the most part you were still serving yourself. The wi-fi was great. The resort is very small and really seems more suited to the 18 to 30 year olds. There was a fire alarm at 11:30 PM. We all congregated in the lobby. There didn't appear to be any  [... read more]management around just the desk clerk . He was on the phone the whole time so there was no one to give any directions. Eventually we were told to go back to our rooms where the fire alarm continued for another 30 minutes before they got it turned off. There did not seem to be any protocols in place for a fire or any other type of emergency. It was the first time in our travels that I didn't feel safe in our resort. I did speak to the Manager the next day. Besides apologizing he was not able to reassure me that that actually do have safety protocols. This is not OK.

Riu Vallarta: Great vacation experience

Great service and a great entertainment program. I will try to come back with my entire family as soon as possible. All staff were extremely helpful and polite. I had a problem with the noise on my first night, then they moved me to another one without any additional questions asked.

Riu Montego Bay: Amazing resort!

Beautiful resort, very clean. Great food. Amazing staff!!!!! Great pool lots of loungers. Only negative about the resort is the beach. Its small and water is not clear. Murky at times and bottom is quite slimy. I believe this is because the beach is man-made. So if you are a beach person then this resort is not for you

Riu Caribe Cancun: Riu Caribe Cancun

I really enjoy this resort, however the mini fridge service for beverages was never changed in our 8 day visit, which it states it will be filled every two days. This is mainly a concern because of the water. The staff is usually very thoughtful, so the no water refill was odd.

Riu Ocho Rios: Everything We were looking for! Fun, Beach, Food

I'll get straight to the point. If u describe this resort in 2 sentences I would say it was the perfect for for us becuase of the location, energy, and people. This is a fun RUI that has a gorgeous beach, great food (too much food!) and the travellers to this resort are looking for a positive vibe. Pros: Beach is gorgeous and one of the nicest compared to others in the same area. (no seaweed when I was there) Largeish resort but laid out so everything you want or need is close. Drinks ke [... read more]ep flowing, with decent liquor brands. Many bars within reach Staff is pleasant (a bit laid back becuase it's Jamaica! But happy to help.) Great location for excursions! (20 round trip to Dunn's River with a cab outside the resort.) Fun extras like paddle boarding and wind surfing, and a ton of games all day like corn hole and darts and fun relay races (entertainment staff work their butt off!) Great music all day Cons: Very dated rooms but clean. Pool could have cleaner water and be cleaner (was merky) A la carts weren't overly impressive (becuase the buffet had so much variety!) Luxury side with better rooms were nicer, but farther away from the fun so a con for us. But might be nice for people who want more quiet. Entrainment at night quiet amateur compared to Mexico or Cuba. (great mj show but he's not our "thing") Takes a full 2 hours for us to actually get their from the airport.

Riu Palace Las Americas: The Staff Were the Best

The hotel was absolutely stunning inside and out--infinity pools, right on the water, great decor--and very clean. The staff were amazing--they remembered who we were, would stop to talk to us, and were always enthusiastic and ensured we were having a good time. The food and drinks were really good, but the desserts at the restaurants could use some work. The rooms were nice and quite big but the A/C and light switches were hard to work.

Riu Guanacaste: Wonderful Resort

The resort was beautiful and well maintained. The gardens her gorgeous, rooms and grounds were extremely clean. Our A/C unit stopped working half way through our trip and we called down for maintenance. They were at our door within 15 min fixing it. Loved that there were different areas for the pool. Kids area, 18+ area (Pool Bar), Games area. The beach was less than a 5min walk from the resort. Beaches are public so you get panhandlers and got to watch your personal items. Everything was easy [... read more] to find. The Buffet always had a huge variety of food to choose from. The steakhouse and Toucan restaurant are delicious. Can't wait to go back.

Riu Playa Blanca: Great time

this was a great vac very nice hotel, food was awesome and pools very clean and nice, beach ok did not spent much time on beach very hot. the Airport is only 10 min away from the hotel - this was very enjoyable. day trips need at least one hour for travel time to reach any location so only did one day trip to canal it was a great trip well worth the 2 hr commute

Riu Santa Fe: Great Resort and Friendly Staff

The grounds were very clean and well kept. The pools are awesome and so are the bartenders at the swim up bars. My family loved the vacation. The activities were fun and abundant for all ages. The specialty restaurants had a variety of food and quick service. The food was great, however the wine needs improvement. The nightly entertainment was excellent and different every night. My family loved it and will always remember the great time we had!

Riu Santa Fe: Exceptional resort

Beautiful grounds, pools, rooms, food was fantastic. Stayed in building 4 - central and quiet at night. Activities for all ages. Excursions can be pricey, entrance fees and insurance extra on everything. Kimberlie is a great asset to Tripcentral.

Riu Guanacaste: True Costa Rican Resort

This resort is unbeatable. I have been to several other resorts but this one tops all of them. The food is amazing, the waiters and bartenders are awesome at their job, and the hotel itself was beautiful and relaxing. Beside Riu Guanacaste is the Riu Palace. The palace is modern too, but the Riu Guanacaste resort brings out the true Costa Rica vibrant lifestyle. In the morning from your balcony, you can hear the monkeys in the distance. Riu Palace Costa Rica: Amazing vacation !!!!

Riu Palace Costa Rica ...... Perfect in every way!!!! Would recommend this resort and is a 5 star for sure ... !!!! Very cosmopolitan decor . The rooms were spacious and tastefully decorated...Food outstanding ..clean and friendly staff....Premium liquor ... The restaurants on the property were fantastic and delicious and no pre booking (a la cart)!!!! All the buffets offered lots of variety .. even the 24 hr snack bar was well stocked ad very clean and fresh .No problem getting a chair in the  [... read more]shade...lots of chairs at the many pools and great poolside bbq for lunch......Thanks to the wait staff for keeping us hydrated with trays of ice water that appeared regularly around the pools ! as close to a perfect vacation as you can get !!!! Riu Ocho Rios: Riu Ocho Rios Great!!!!

We stayed at the Riu Ocho Rios from Apr. 20-27/18. We were a group of 9 attending a friends wedding. The food was great and plenty. The only bad was that the steak house and the Asian restaurants are supposed to be a la carte but are really buffet style. We didn't get a chance to try the other a la carte. The rooms in building 3 need to be updated, not sure about buildings 1 and 2. The beds are a bit to firm for everyone's liking. We had a problem with our fan, but the maintenance person arr [... read more]ived quickly and fixed the problem as well replaced a burnt out light bulb in our bathroom and fixed the other light that he noticed wasn't working correctly. The cleaning staff were pleasant, but counter in washroom washroom was not always cleaned. (we had a dead fly on the counter for the whole week.) We also had a fridge in our room that was stocked daily with beer, soda, and bottles of water, as well as an alcohol cabinet with rum, gin, vodka and whiskey so you could make your own drinks. The entertainment was great, but they had 1 show called Africa that seemed to go on forever and people were leaving cause it was too long, but the dancers and actors were phenomonal. The entertainment staff was great too. There is a disco that was good only because of the people we were with. The sportsbar was good, had a few slot machines and pool table. The beach was excellent and hand plenty of chairs. The pool was great too but sometimes you couldn't find a chair. If you require the safe, you need to rent the lock and key for $50.00 for the week, unsure if the $50.00 is refunded once you turn in the lock and key. The hotel is nice but is in need of some repair. It's close to "downtown" Ocho Rios. I would definately stay at the Riu again.

Riu Playa Blanca: Very nice resort!

Rooms were very clean, staff friendly but many could not speak English..Food was excellent with a lot of variety.... Ocean was red flagged almost every day so not best for swimming. sand black and hot to walk on. Entertainment very good. Would definitely go back to this hotel!

Riu Emerald Bay: Nice place!

The hotel was very nice and the grounds were kept up very nicely! Check in was prompt and efficient and room was everything we expected. Wait staff in restaurants and buffet very friendly and hard working.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Very good resort

A beautiful clean hotel as the beach. Their staff where very friendly and where always willing to help you out if needed. Their food was great, very nice room and always lots to drink in the room. I would very much like to return for a VK.

Riu Republica: All around great

Stayed a week at riu republica and it was a great vacation. Food was pretty good. There’s something for everyone. No reservations make it great for the specialty restaurants. Staff was great. The activities were pretty much endless. Beach is great. All around great vacation

Riu Santa Fe: Better than could ever expect

What an amazing hotel. It is absolutely huge, with something for everyone. It is so clean, you could eat off the floor of the public bathrooms. Pick you pool according to your party needs. Beach area pool a little to crazy though with mid twenty somethings just totally out of control. Lots of other pools for normal people. Good entertainment every night with good seating. The hotel rates an 9 out of 10, but if you are beach person, I would say a 3 out of 10 because there is usually a da [... read more]ngerous undertow, very grainy sand and numerous vendors trying to selling you everything under the sun, including their mother-in-law. Overall, great and I will be going back.

Riu Merengue: hotel bad and good

hotel ok after complaining about room with mold 30 year old t.v. phone didn't work half comp bar the smell of bleach and mold yellow bed sheets allacart host was impolite the food no appetizer no cocktails no wine with dinner the steak was 3ouches 8th of a inch thick fries cold had to go to other bar to get a drink waitress was good but had follow host direction flight was delay 3 time had to move to three different gates lost whole day traveling suppose to depart 6:20 am departed 1:20 made it [... read more] first room 8:00pm made it to second room 8:45pm the question on next line recommending hotel only after I tell them what question ask so they don't try to put them in bad room don't do the allacart almost all staff very nice and polite. question at bottom about food was good the second was good service from most was very good

Riu Guanacaste: Awesome resort

Great hotel Beach wasn’tthe best but we are pool people anyway. Food was good although seemed the same everyday. A la carte resturants were good. Steak one the best. Have to go early to get in. We all had a great trip
