Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Wonderful beaches

Iberostar Ensenachos is a great 4 1/2 star resort. Lovely grounds, two fabulous beaches. Lots of palapas, reasonable food, good entertainment every night in the lobby. It’s a bit of a long bus ride from the airport, and to most excursions. One drawback is that the rooms don’t have ocean views. Otherwise, it’s a great resort, very family friendly, but with an adult section as well.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Best vacation every

My wife and I have been to many resorts; Florida, Turks and Caicos, St. Maarten, Costa Rica and St. Lucia and Iberostar Ensenachos was by far the very best. On March 27-April 6th we spent ten wonderful days with our family; our oldest daughter Nadia, our youngest daughter Kaitlin and her husband Christopher and their two young children Nathaniel four and Ava ten months. We stayed in the family section which is right beside the children's water park. The beach in our opinion was better then the beach at Grace Bay Turks and Caicos. The serving staff Yaima, Armando and Mariankis and the host of the Cuban restaurant could not have been more helpful. Thanks to the entire staff from the reception desk, servers, cooks, grounds keepers, maids, shuttle drivers etc. The staff is what makes this resort so special; a special thanks to Yohnny and Nestor for all their assistance. I would certainly return and would suggest this is a ten star not a five star resort.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Amazing resort!

This resort was beautiful to say the least, very big, very clean.. I didn't see any bugs (except the odd moth). Beach was amazing, pool was amazing, the staff are so incredibly nice and welcoming! I honestly had no complaints and I would be happy to come and stay here again!

Incredible resort! The food was good, the staff were amazing and the beach was pristine! Just be ready for cold showers everyday fofore supper. The entertainment, both in the piano bar and in the theatre was amazing. The ocean side massages are a must do. We will definitely be back

Went to this resort March 22-29..been there before at the grand village section which i prefer..we had a good time the entertainment was good the beach was awesome and they built a lot of new palapas on the beach for cover which was good.Sunwing was good the staff was very good my only complaint the need to make sure the bus to take you to the resort has a bathroom on board on our way back there was none and people had to go outside on the road . The food was ok the l"carts were amazing but there food pattern at the buffet needs to be address example not have sweets next to vegetables people but in to take something also food could be hotter. Also the staff work had and are very friendly and helpful which was awesome. The beach speaks for itself it is amazing and awesome snorkeling there .

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Loved Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria!

We settled on this resort after reading great reviews about it ( had to ignore the whiny ones with unrealistic expectations) and on the recommendation of our Trip Central agent - Tyler Curtis. We loved Dhawa! my family and I (2 adults and a young child) were pleasantly surprised.They greeted us with refreshing drinks and check in was fast ( this obviously depends on how many people arrive at once). The beach is beautiful and lots of snorkelling opportunity- pedal boats/catamaran/wind surf board included. A really nice resort and had great landscaping overall and looks wonderful. The food here is fabulous and a good variety. The 3 restaurants serve superb food and great service. The buffet has great variety - pastas, pizzas, bbq, grilled seafood, breads, salads, meats, rices, desserts, great variety of cheeses etc. we went for breakfast & dinner mostly. The 24-hr snack bar by pool is busy at times but fine for snacks(the “chicken bites”and fried potatoes, ice creams, pizza, crispy squid, house salad, burgers and hot dogs were good). The grill snack bar on beach serves burgers, chicken wraps etc. is fab. Great coffees, imported wines, drinks, slushes. Good ketchup, hot sauces, maple syrup all available as well.The pool is nice and centrally located- the resort is not too big and easy to walk around. Good live music in lobby area and entertainment shows were fine. The staff are wonderful ( please keep in mind this is Cuba- many staff are learning English via their jobs and try hard..)and we had no issues. If you need something - just ask. We also rented a taxi and visited nearby towns and cities, decommissioned sugar mill, monuments, etc) on two of the days (very safe in Cuba and loved this). my son loved the tennis court(racquets etc. included) & soccer field and the gym is great too. Some minor issues: snack bar ran out of hot dogs one day - but there is so much to eat -this was not a biggie at all. Another day, I went to late to switch my beach towels and they ran out as the new shipment didn’t come in.. we just hung the towels on chairs on balcony and they dried fast. btw, none of these affected our holiday or that of the people we met there but Some people might be bothered by it. People reserve beach and pool chairs even though they are not supposed to (but we found chairs regardless). I have travelled widely around the world and I would rate this a 5 Star resort —Cuban standards -but it is more a 4.5 Star compared to other countries. I think if you keep in mind that there will be little quirks/ inconsistencies- especially in Cuba-and go with a good mindset - you will have a fabulous time Also, early morning walks on the beach are great if you have kids who love to collect shells etc. Weather was fabulous when we went (March 24-31), no humidity but hot. One cloudy day but we were on a day trip in city. also, windy sometimes at night so take a light sweater. We had an awesome vacation! Hope you do too! Will definitely return here.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Amazing resort

I loved everything about it. We had an amazing week. The only negative point is that there is not enough chairs on the beach The food was good. The grounds are well kept. The rooms are clean The staff (for most of them) friendly.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Awesome resort

Our vacation experience was awesome.the grounds are very well taken care of,the bungalows are situated that everything is very easily accessible,lots of pools depending what mood you are in whether it be party time or quiet time,beautiful well kept beach area with lots of loungers,the specialty restaurants were all very good with a buffet that had lots to choose from.the staff were all very friendly and helpful.Only dislikes ,found the bed very hard but that could be just us and advise u to tak [... read more]e some of your own toilet paper for your room,it seems that it was a hot commodity and we always were short,if the roll was close to done it was not changed and they did not leave you an extra one,Would definately book the hotel again

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Great Time Had By Capers

My husband and I went on a 5 day trip. Absolutely amazing. There is something to say about a smaller resort. It's more personal. After one trip to the bar or restaurant they would remember your name and your beverage. Never was there any gratuity expected but VERY much appreciated. Relaxing atmosphere mostly, variety of ages from young couples with children to older couples with their grandchildren. Cuban food is Cuban food. You won't starve for sure. Valentin Perla Blanca: Average resoy

Upon arrival after midnight, it took three rooms before we got ocean view room as per our booking. It was 4 am before we got settled in. One room in particular did not have air conditioning working and no towels.There was six other couples experienced the same issue upon arrival. The phones for room service did not work and the visa devices often did work, which made if difficult to get cash for tipping. Placed complaint at service desk and the Air Transat rep because of poor room service  [... read more]Air Transat rep was not very helpful. Exchange for beach towel were three to four days or longer, left may guess upset. Pool and lobby service and amenities were great. Alecart restaurants were great. Beaches were awesome. Overall we felt this was more of a 3 star resort as opposed to a 4.5 star rating. No intentions to visit this resort in the future. We are seasoned travelers who have not experience any issues of this nature on previous resorts we visited. Roy and Mildred Green Only one buffet restaurant availabile for 1800 people.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Great vacation!

We enjoyed our stay at the Ocean Casa del Mar, the staff is amazing...Honorable mention goes out to Vania, our bartender at the pool and Magdial at the buffet...both made our trip that much more special. The front desk staff top notch as was our Sunwing rep. The food could have been a little better but the overall experience more than made up for it. Melia Las Dunas: Amazing Resort

We were at the Melia Las Dunas March 23rd to March 30th. This resort was fantastic. I had read many reviews and was a little concerned about the negative ones, but we didn't see anything negative. Check in was a breeze, we arrived around 9 pm and it took about 10 mins to check in. They had us in the family section and we had requested adults only and they moved us with no problems. They had carts to take us to our rooms in building 49. Room was clean, we saw no bugs in our room, we always ha [... read more]d hot water, air conditioning and our maid did a great job. In fact we forgot to lock the safe one day and nothing was touched. The grounds are beautiful...hard to see any damage from the hurricane. Pools are nice on both sides, but we found that we liked the family side a little more as there is more going on at that side. The beach is incredible......you have to see it to understand! We had no problems with the food. I would recommend using the a la cartes to break up going to the buffet. The snack restaurant by the family pool was great for breakfast or lunch. And we never found that we had to deal with long lines at the buffet. The people.....We have never met nicer, more genuine people in our lives. Adrian at the snack restaurant and Manuel in the buffet made our trip even more enjoyable. My husband and I always say that we will not go back to the same place twice as there are so many places to go and see, however, we would go back to the Melia tomorrow.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: great resort and staff

we have been to this resort 5 times it better now than before the hurricane the beach is 100% better the only downfall is due to the embargo and circumstances re the hurricane the menu is limited but there is enough of a variety and also fresh and well prepared remember if you think your getting food like mom made forget it

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful Resort

We stayed at Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria for a week in March. The resort was beautiful, lots of beautiful flowers and shrubs. The pool was fantastic and very clean. The beach was breath taking with a stunning view. The food was some of the best food we have had in Cuba. The outdoor grill was a great addition. We had clean rooms with an ocean view and always had good service.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: So so

Beach so, so,... long line up for beach grill. Pool good except for broken pieces and not cleaned promptly. Food.... its Cuba. If you could stand the line ups for pizza or pasta they are delicious. Dont eat the chicken. Got sick over if. Service very good and friendly staff, always eager to help. Room are nice size and newer looking but we did have some issuez.... clogged shower drain, leaking AC, patio door very hard to open, bed comfortable.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Great resort!

This hotel is great value for the money. The entertainment, food, accommodations and people were great. The grounds were very well maintained. The large pool was spotless. A couple of the bathrooms were in need of some maintenance, but otherwise the resort is fine. You can't go wrong with this resort. After all, this is a Melia, would you expect anything else!!

Very small and walkable. Staff feel like family and they are over generous and go above and beyond. Buffet was amazing, thanks to Chi Chi, eyelash boy, Ariel, Daniel, Betsy and many more. Juan at the lobby bar was so speedy and efficient and Nestor and his staff at the beach bar were so much fun! Loungers were dragged down the beach for us by the life guards and the beach was like a picture from the cover of a magazine. The grounds were immaculate and the rooms were huge. Great stay over all and will definitely return.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: GREAT TIME

Pros Staff were AMAZING: So kind and generious always asking if we needed anything,always smiling and so sweet. Great entertainment! Rooms were great, BIG washrooms! Beach was perfect! Always a tun of food! Fun activities! Boating was free and so fun! Felt very safe the whole time Cons: Wifi is spoty and no snap chat available.. Key card to room got demagnitized and was locked out twice..But all in all the whole thing was AMAZING

Grounds: Beautifully taken care of. The staff working day and night at times to keep it looking neat and clean. Rooms: our room was okay. Not the most comfortable bed, but how much time are you really spending in your room? The only thing that I had an issue with was the musky smell that stuck around. We kept our bathroom door closed, that helped a bit. Food: I loved the selection at the buffet. Breakfast was my fave. Fresh buns, cheese and meat. The beach snack bar opened from 1pm -330pm I believe. You gotta have the bbqed blood sausage. Delish!! And their salad and the bean rice. Mmm. Staff: Everyone was wonderful. Friendly, hard working and always willing to help. Hint: get to know them, make conversation and appreciate them. And you will have no issues. Beach: BEAUTIFUL and clean. Go and reserve your seats. If no luck ask the guards for help, they will help. Entertainment: this could've been a little better. I liked the shows, but I myself loooove dancing. There wasn't much for a disco. There was a disco nearby the resort but nothing on site. When they played the music, it was shortly after the show and didn't last for long. The retro/rock show was the absolute best. Overall experience: I will definitely be going back.
