Ocean Blue and Sand: Nice vacation but disappointed with beach

Overall the resort was nice. We were disappointed with the beach area. We were told that last fall’s hurricane did quite a bit of damage to it. I had read some reviews online before going - however - I didn’t think it would be as bad as it is! There really is no beach! Since there is no beach - everyone lounges by the pool area - therefore it was very difficult to find a lounger unless we got up very very early to reserve one. There are signs everywhere stating not to reserve loungers - how [... read more]ever there is nobody around to monitor this - so everyone reserved one anyway?! My husband was told you had to reserve a chair by 6 am in order to get one. He would go out in the middle of the night ( sometimes 3-4 in the morning) to reserve us chairs! Was ridiculous! I did comment on this when we left the resort. I will not be returning to this resort.

Tropical Deluxe Princess: Great resort

The Tropical Princess is a very clean and well maintained resort. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food in the buffet was ok after we found what we liked. We ate at 5 of the restaurants and they were excellent. The tropical forest section is cool, there are many birds, ducks, turtles and iguanas to look at when travelling from the pool area to the main lobby. Overall we were very happy with the resort.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: WILL COME AGAIN

This resort was amazing. Service was good, staff was amazing....and a special shout out to Robinson and Elby who worked at the pool bar during the week we were there with a group of 12 adults. Amazing servers!

Serenade Punta Cana Beach and Spa Resort: Family Friendly

We travelled with children 9,8 and 1.This hotel was gorgeous and clean, big enough to enjoy but small enough to run to the room and be back in 10min. Many pools to choose from with a nice kids area and another area with water slides. The Beach is beautiful with lots of chairs. Daily activities for adults and children. Entertainment nightly, live performers by the pool, shows in the theatre, games by the pool during the day. Minerva in the kids club is great with the kids and very active. The st [... read more]aff was awesome, most speak great English and are very helpful. The restaurants had fantastic service and the food was amazing, The Steak and the Asian were our favourite. We love the bartender Fabio he was so kind and was sure to take care of my kids when they approached the bar for a drink (non alcoholic of course). They made awesome drinks as well, Mango Margarita, Miami Vice, Pina Colada were my favourite. Lots of food to choose from the buffet at every meal. Our Air Transit Rep was Tony and he was super helpful he’s at the hotel from 9-12, he helped with scheduling our return ride. Also assisted us with booking our excursion, we went to Monkeyland and loved it ! We would definitely return to this resort !!!

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Fantastic staff

Incredible staff - yoga instructors Chely and J Carlo helped this first time ever yoga student. I enjoyed 11 consecutive lessons. Ramona took great care of our family of 7 (including our 93 year old Dad) on the beach every day. She was a definite highlight of our vacation. Ruben gave my Dad lots of attention which he so enjoyed. Loved watching the vibe team dance. Front desk and concierge people were very helpful. Rooms cleaned beautifully every day. The entire resort was kept very clean always. [... read more] Buffet had lots of good options, again staff was very attentive. Other restaurants were mediocre in quality and service. Enjoyed several entertainment shows.

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Very nice resort.

Allareas were clean, safe and very welcoming. All staff went above and beyond the normal to help with anything that you needed or wanted. Everyone tried to make sure to accommodate our group of 7 at all times.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Very nice place

Great place for a relaxing vacation. Very clean, both rooms and property. Nice pool. Beach is very good to walk on, but there was always seaweed washed up on shore. Not a deal-breaker. Plenty of dining options, but you had to reserve well in advance or miss out. Staff was generally excellent. It would be nice if they understood more English as that was an issue a few times. Special shout out to Maria who works mornings and lunch at the buffet. She brought a smile to our faces every day.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Amazing week!

Beautiful grounds. Clean rooms and food was amazing. Ate fish and salads all week with no concern for getting sick. Our butler Angel was great at taking care of all our needs. Highly recommend diamond club for the extra perks of a butler, access to flow rider and the water park at Royalton splash.

Iberostar Waves Dominicana: Great resort

This was our second time at this resort we went just before COVID. The resort is beautiful and the grounds are very well kept. The staff is super friendly. We noticed that this time around that there is less staff who speak English but we just used a translator app, especially if you want decaf coffee in the buffet, lol. The food in the buffet was wonderful with lots of options and we preferred it to the a la carte. The beach is beautiful and very little seaweed as they clean the beach twice a day. The rooms are ok, the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. We will return, love this resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: OK

The hotel itself was well kept as was the grounds and beaches. Our booking stated "superior garden suite". There is NO SUCH THING. All the hotel rooms are standard. Also we were advised that we had "privileges" at all hotels. WRONG!! The AIR CANADA REP advised we could use beach, drinks, but for lunch had to go back to our dining room. NOT GOOD. Food was good at main hotel, but, a pain going there for lunch when there were restaurants on beach. The did have a BBQ each day,and SAME [... read more] THING EVERY DAY, salad, hamburgers, chicken and rice, but you had to take your plate back to beach chair to eat. NOT GOOD.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Incredible

The resort gave us everything we were looking for as a vacation destination. It has something for everyone in our family. The amenities were great with incredible customer service from all the staff. We would fully recommend this resort without hesitation.

Impressive Premium Punta Cana: Just “Good”.

Grounds are clean and well kept. Food is okay, nothing fabulous. A La cartes are okay. Not a lot of entertainment around the pools. Only a handful of umbrellas around the pools and the Premium Pool had none. Never saw our supposed “butler”. Left $ for the maid and saw nothing extra or anything fancy. Premium was a waste of $. Beach was well Kept.

Riu Palace Punta Cana: A perfect vacation!

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the palace punta Cana and I have nothing but amazing things to say! The hotel is extremely clean and beautiful, there are a selection of pools and the food is absolutely amazing! If you are ok with loud club like noise, we highly recommend going to Coco Bongos! It’s approx $100 US per person (depending on how many are going in your group you can usually negotiate) and that includes the bus ride there and back, a pass to get in and unlimited alcohol! The sh [... read more]ow is absolutely incredible! Lots of entertainment in the area as you are able to go to the other resorts. There is a huge water park approx 12 minute walk from the palace. It was incredible. Make sure you bring US money only as they prefer that and if you are look in for an ATM while staying it is located at the casino down the street which only opens at 7pm. That will give you US money. Another ATM I located by the shops close to the report (beside the chocolate store) but only gives Dominican pesos. Five stars for me!

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Pleasantly surprised

The Royalton chic had a bit of everything for everyone. The pool area was a big huge party but also had yoga in the am The beach has beautiful soft sand and can walk or run for a long time. The waves were rough for the past couple weeks. Being the Atlantic I can see that The diamond club rooms were very spacious and in my opinion a MUST I don’t think I would like the resort as much. Royalton Hideaway Punta Cana: Third Visit. Great Vacation.

My wife and I as well as two other couples spent a week at Hideaway Diamond Club February 2023. We have been to this Royalton on two previous occasions with our children (2017 & 2018). We returned because we really enjoyed the previous visits. This time we stayed at Hideaway as we were travelling without children. Overall the trip was great. There were a few changes since last there. Notably, the beach beds are now only available for a fee. Also, the Hideaway section of the beach had some signif [... read more]icant erosion due to prior storms. This was not an issue for us as we spent our days at the Diamond Club beach section. Jose Luis, Yovanni and Darby at the bar there were excellent. We were also able to quite easily get 6 beach chairs together each day at mid morning, which is great. We are more beach people than pool people, so spent little time at the pool. When we did, it was at the Hideaway pool late in the day. Ozuna, the bartender at the bar there was great. We really enjoy the relatively small size of the resort, and it has everything a large resort has. We made one trip to the water park at Splash which was very fun. We also walked the beach to Royalton Bavaro one day to enjoy the Lazy River and some drinks which was also nice. One of the best things about this resort is that all of the staff were always smiling and seem genuinely happy. Our room was fine. I would say typical of such a resort. Housekeeper Diocelina was very helpful and always happy to work around our schedule. Overall, we had no real complaints. Food was good. Made it into Zen once and Hunter twice. Thanks to our Butler Carolina for looking after all our needs. We had breakfast most days at Dorado where Edwin, Euri and Damari did a great job. We did Yoga each morning outside, which was quite nice. Victor, Mirtha and David were excellent instructors and it was a great way to start the day. We took in a show at the theatre most nights which was actually quite good. We did attend the Superbowl party there which was less than good due to technical difficulties with the program feed. However, we did not pay for it, and I am not a big fan, so it was didn't bother us too much. In closing, there were some small differences from previous visits, but everything we asked for was addressed. I find it a very good resort, with great staff and an overall would give it 5 stars.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Beautiful Resort

I liked the resort overall but i found that if you didn’t reserve lawn chairs early in the morning then It was hard to find lawn chairs around the pool and at the beach, people would reserve their chairs early in the morning and unless you are an early riser then forget about finding a chair. The rooms were very spacious and nice decor the only thing I didn’t like about the room was the shower had no doors, it had a half glass wall and rest was open, not very thought out when they were desi [... read more]gning it, no privacy. The food was excellent lots of options. Entertainment was ok but i would of liked it if there was more shows. Overall very nice resort very clean grounds were beautiful.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Pleasant stay

We were satisfied with the pools but disappointed with the hotel. It was s bit run down and in need of some upgrades. The staff were wonderful. A special shout out to our maid Carmen. She was wonderful and attentive. She made our stay more enjoyable.

Excellence Punta Cana: Third time visiting this resort!

Welcoming and very attentive staff, attention to detail, great entertainment. No wristbands, no reservations for any of the restaurants, premium drinks, beautifully kept grounds - a gem. Downsides: Heavy & dangerous surf on the beach most days. Also, you are a long way from any town or other resorts - approx. 1 hr. from the airport. A great place to relax & chill.

Iberostar Waves Dominicana: Iberostar revisited

We were last in this resort 21 years ago. The lobby and restaurants have been renovated and I think the pool as well. It all looks good. The food and service were excellent and we plan to bring our whole family here. What impressed me most was the enivornmental changes made. We were last in the DR 5 years ago and things have come a long way. Water stations on each floor and in bars. Refillable water bottles provided in the rooms. Very little disposable take out dishes. Paper straws and only on [... read more] request. Garbage is sorted. Shampoo and soap dispensers in the bathroom. Electronic hand dryers in the public restrooms. Digital communications. All very impressive.

Grand Palladium Select Bavaro: Resort was disappointing

This was our 3rd time visiting this resort. Since the last time in 2016 the resort has greatly changed. I will start with the positives, the location is beautiful, the beach and the grounds are always well maintained. The drinks are better than the time before as well. Overall the food is ok. I had booked us in the small villas with a garden view which we had stayed before. We were told we were moved to another area as they were full. They called it an up grade, it was not. We were in the  [... read more]long villas with 3 levels, lots of rooms and incredibly loud, kids screaming, people arguing and because it’s open the whole Villa 30+ rooms hear it all, all Night. I had also booked to have side by side rooms with my senior parents they put us in Separate villas. The rooms are clean but I’m massive need of new mattresses and new pullouts. We switched rooms after the first night as the bed was so hard we didn’t sleep. The second room was not any better and there was no where for them to move us. The beds are as hard as sleeping on the ground. We didn’t sleep more than a couple hours a night. So we left the trip exhausted. Our air conditioner also broke down one night at 2 am with a large banging sound, we had to turn it off until morning when I went to the desk they said it would be until after 2 that someone would come until I said that was unacceptable they then sent someone immediately. The service was incredibly slow and they were completely understaffed. I would be asked if I wanted coffee after I was done my breakfast u less I got up and found someone to help our table. The same goes for the pool you have to get up to get your own drinks, Even with tipping the staff just doesn’t come around. I don’t recommend eating outside at the restaurants. We ate one night at the Asian restaurant, i believe they forgot about our table, our food came out 2 hours after we ordered. Even with me asking the staff 5 times we we’re about to walk out when it finally came out, it was all cold and while we waited I was bitten, and must have been swarmed all at once and ended up with 40 bites on my legs. We were really excited to go back to this resort and left completely exhausted and disappointed.
