Riu Palace Pacifico: Great Vacation

We visited the resort last week and were very happy with our stay. Food & service at the buffets were awesome. We could always find chairs around the pool. Weather was perfect as usual. Great beach. We really had no complaints.

Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta: Good resort in all respects but one

Resort is set well back from the main roads in Puerto Vallarta and as a result the setting is quiet. Set on a nice stretch of beach suitable for long walks. We swam in the ocean as well as the pools which were great. Rooms are well laid out. Food is very good - always something healthy to choose from - fish and good selection of salads and fruit. Staff are very friendly and fast. The fitness facility was excellent - all equipment in good shape and relatively new. Big negative for us - We reques [... read more]ted a new room after the first night due to a foul odour coming up through the shower drain. Initially, the second room was fine but then we found a similar odour coming from the AC vent. We had to open the patio doors and have the ceiling fan on high for an hour or so to eliminate the smell. The problems were reported to the hotel staff but I suspect this may have been a problem with more than just the 2 rooms we had. Our overall rating is only "fair" based solely on the issue with the odour in the rooms.

Riu Vallarta: Best Riu experience yet

Almost every year, we stay at a Riu hotel as we love this chain. This Riu was outstanding in terms of service specifically at the restaurants. We were super impressed. The other outstanding service item was the drink service on the beach. Servers would be walking around all day with trays of drinks so we didn't even have to go to the bar, it was delivered right to our beach chairs. The Riu food is always delicious and this was no exception. This hotel is probably very noisy if you are on a lower [... read more] floor but we were at the top so everything was fine. I recommend a higher floor for noise issues as well as better views. It was lively in the evening with bands playing and people actually hung out and partied later into the evening which you sometimes don't see at other resorts. It was a great ambiance and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Crown Paradise Club: would not go back or recommend

The hotel was old, activities not well run (not even posted or communicated), food was just okay if you eat meat but it was poor if you're a vegetarian. A la carte ones were great! Hospitality suite sucked! Great if you bring kids but not if you don't or if you don't want to be around them. It was clean though and the service was really good. Being next to a flea market was great to go to but there were also a lot of vendors on beach.

Riu Flamingos: Great Vacation

We have just returned from an all inclusive vacation at the Riu Jalisco and want to say that it was a wonderful resort. Anything we needed they were willing to accommodate. We found the resort to be very clean, no garbage lying around etc. the staff all were very friendly. The food was top quality and with 400+ guests on site no one could go hungry. We were never able to book an early seating for the steak dinner as the La Botina restaurant catered to wedding parties first. We could not believe  [... read more]the quality of the prawns- bigger and better than those we catch ourselves here on the coast of B.C. Lots of variety in the drinks too...great Mojitos! There were plenty of beach loungers but many will need repair by the end of this season for sure. We walked the beach for an hour each day and judging by what we saw the Jalisco has the best beach. The sand was soft and clean, waves were big and beautiful, and lots of palm trees for shade. We came for the sun, sand and good company and were not disappointed. The only improvement would be to have outside elevators installed at the west ends of the buildings for easier access to the rooms from the beach. It is a long walk from the beach to the lobby elevators. 4+ flights of stairs is challenging for some of us "oldies". We will definitely recommend the Jalisco to others and will return again one day.

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Fantastic location

This resort has an amazing location. The beach and pools are excellent and no one is bothered by vendors. The bars do not skimp on the alocohol content of their drinks and the service at the bars is good and the lobby bar has a very upbeat atmostphere in the evening with music and shows. The food was average but lots of availability in the buffets. My only complaint is that the restaurants do not take reservations and hold tables for people staying at the Royal Suites (whether they show up or no [... read more]t) so our experience was a wait of 2 1/2 hours for a table. I would go back to this resort again.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Relaxing Paradise

This was our second stay with this resort. It is truly a wonderful place to be. The staff treated us very well, the food is great, the buffet has more selections than I could sample in our time there. The beach is peaceful, lots of entertainment at night, we were very happy there and will return.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Amazing trip!

Best trip of my life. What a beautiful wonderful resort. The people are so nice, The grounds are so well kept. The rooms are gorgeous, very clean. Food is absolutely delicious! Breakfast, lunch, dinner dessert to die for! I loved every second of my trip!

Hacienda Buenaventura Hotel and Mexican Charm: must like loud music

Clean, comfortable facility with friendly staff. Food is plentiful and good. Beach is a 2-block walk or shuttle ride but Beach Club is inadequate. All rooms overlook pool and bar area where very loud music is a constant until late at night- no way to escape it except by leaving the hotel! Great for party lovers, not so for the rest of us.

Plaza Pelicanos Club: jan./15 trip

door men just figures ,who possibly pretended not to speak english. Couldnt figure out i needed a cab, or didnt know where a sports club a few blocks away was.Not too friendly.However the local buses are close and come by frequently.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: RELAXING YET FUN

Everything was great about this resort. Staff were very polite and friendly. The entertainment staff were excellent. Night shows were very well done. You could lie around the pool all day or keep busy following the activity schedule.

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Decameron Los Cocos

A very good area to immerse into authentic Mexico. A slow paced non-american resort with very good food. Not for the party crowd or singles looking for the "what happens in..." crowd. There are many excursions locally and Sayulita is 45 minutes down the road.

Canto Del Sol: Amazing resort

I have no complaints. It was a friendly and clean resort. Jorge and Allen did a great job with the activities. The food was excellent at the specialty restaurants. The staff were very good. I would recommend this resort.

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Most enjoyable vacation

I was pleasantly surprised by this resort. Classed as a 3-star, the grounds, service, facilities, entertainment and food all exceeded my expectations. The simple, tidy room lacked an ocean view, but little time was spent there. Conveniently close to the beach, restaurant and bar, apart from the sound of waves, it was relatively quiet. I liked the yoga and zumba classes and bicycles offered by the resort and the always friendly and helpful staff. The food was delicious, fresh and plentiful.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Beautiful Resort!!!!

The resort was beautiful! The food and staff were excellent!! The beach is very choppy and stoney, as is expected in a bay, but there were always plenty of comfortable lounge chairs available by the pool. The only negative comments ~ We were disappointed in how we were treated with our a la carte reservation, and were told restaurants were booked up though they were never full and found out too late you could just show up for a table without reservations. Also we found it very unusual that when  [... read more]booking our excursion they did not include transportation and we had to cover the cost of our own taxi to and from?? This we have NEVER run into before!

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Wonderful Resort

Right on the beach which is a must. Colorful colonial style architecture and beautiful grounds. All open air restaurants which I like. Lots of friendly staff and efficiently run. Ocean view rooms in building one were rather small but clean and beds were very comfortable. Enjoyed having the sliding doors open all night. There were no privacy walls between balconies but we had nice chats with our neighbors. The nightly dance revues were really good and the best I've seen in my all inclusive resort [... read more] travels. The hotel is larger than I like and there were lots of guests. One had to get to the beach really early to claim a spot. Beach and surf were great.

Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit: Waaaay above our expectations!

My wife and I have been to many different all inclusive resorts and this resort was far and away the best one we have ever visited. The beaches, grounds, service, rooms - all perfect. Best of all, If you are a "foodie" then this is the resort for you. It's like eating at a "fine dining" restaurant every day! Flawless!!!

Riu Vallarta: Very good resort

The food was extremely good and it was a very clean resort. The staff was friendly and we especially enjoyed the entertainment in the lobby area at night. The a la carte restaurant Sir George was very good. The restaurant The Flamingo was lovely for lunch and the fish was delicious.

This is an amazing resort !! The food is great, grounds are well kept, hotel staff are the best around. had a great time will be back for sure !!! pools very clean, service around pool was great . lots of activities if you wanted to do something staff were fun & easy to get along with !! go there you will not be disappointed !!

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Very beautiful resort!

Amazing resort. However,the beach had a lot of pebbles and had extremely high waves. So did not get to swim in the ocean. Restaurants were good with a variety of food at the buffet. A lot of chairs so always got one no matter what time of day! Always had activities going on. Staff was very friendly and helpful
