This hotel is very nice, the grounds are so nicely kept, the rooms are cleaned daily the people working there are amazingly attentive, there’s a buffet where the food is excellent, there’s everything for everyone. Lots of drinks as well. We stayed 1 week and we were able to have 3 dinners at different restaurants, those restaurants are first rate. COVID-19 is present but not due to the hotel, we the clients bring COVID-19 so we must be vigilant and monitor symptoms. If you feel sick you’re[... read more] encouraged to stay in your room and they will bring you everything necessary to your room so you don’t spread the virus. To be honest though, most people that feel sick keep coming out of their rooms they prefer to keep quiet and keep enjoying their holiday. The plane back was full of sick people without wearing a mask. All and all we enjoyed our trip and we look forward to the next time we can go somewhere. Trip central is a really well run business I recommend it very much.

Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Not recommended
Although the hotel itself is beautiful and the rooms are very clean, it stops there, the food quality at the buffet was terrible,, only restaurant worth going too was the mexican restaurant. Steak house was not that great.
Alcohol at the resort started at 11:00 am and would stop serving at 11:00 pm.
Only way you could get food was room service after 10:00 pm that's their idea of 24 hours for food.
The beach they advertise on their pictures is false...its washed away behind the hotel. Defian[... read more]tly not worth the money, many other resorts i'm sure offer a lot more for the money.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Enjoyable Vacation at the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya
The resort was excellent. The ground was well maintained. The staff and workers are very friendly, hard working and cheerful. The activities at the resort were well planned and interesting. We like the archery. The beach is well shaded with umbrella. Plenty of chair for you to rest and relax.
The food was so so but acceptable and the quality of the entertainment mediocre.

Overall fantastic service outside of the terribly slow check in process. Although, if that’s the only big problem, I’ll take it! Nice beach, rooms, food was good, volleyball was fun, had a great time!

Barcelo Maya Riviera: Amaizing resort!
It was our second visit to this resort. It actually looks more as luxury hotel then resort. Very neat, clean and tidy! All organized well with no issues. All concerns should they occur may be addressed promptly. Service was impeccable. Food variety was plenty. Restaurant booking was easy, and food was amazing! Good quality strong drinks, decent cocktails. Definitely, will be back again.

Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun: Paradise in Mayan Riviera
We decided to splurge a bit for our honeymoon and booked here at Secrets Maroma. This hotel was absolutely beautiful. From the hotel grounds to the rooms, food, beach, people...it was wonderful. Hotel staff were lovely and always made sure you were taken care of. The most gracious people. If you want to be spoiled and pampered, this is the place to go. I cannot wait to return.
It's a bit pricey but worth every penny.

This was my 2nd visit to this resort and it never fails to impress. They really know how to take care of their guests. Rooms are beautifully maintained daily, beds are comfortable, food is top notch from pool side to Buffets to the A la Carte restaurants. Star team puts on spectacular evening shows , lobby bar entertainment and daytime Poolside games and music are so fun. The oceanfront is breathtaking to view and warm to swim and ride the waves. Will definitely return again !

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Outstanding service
A very nice hotel, with probably the best food and service we experienced in all-inclusives so far. Virtually everybody was super friendly, attentive and fast. We felt like we were very welcomed there. Very good shows, especially Mexican dancing group - very professional, colourful and a lot of fun. Room was good - a huge comfortable bed, spacious balcony. Jungle setting makes it stand out from other hotels, but if you a beach person, this might be a downside for you, as it is not directly on th[... read more]e beach. Actually, the beach was the weakest link of the whole trip - it is rocky, with a lot of corals and coarse sand. I could not walk into the ocean without my water shoes. The ocean is not "open", so to say, the swimming areas are protected by sort of rock/coral walls, to make it safer for the swimmers, as the ocean can be quite wavy in that area. But the hotel pools were excellent.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: A Dream Honeymoon
My husband and I had our perfect honeymoon at Valentin Imperial. We stayed for 10 days and had the time of our lives. In it’s entirety the resort is tended to with great care; the grounds are STUNNING, the beautiful beach is treated with so much love, the pools are clean and fun and the community spaces are welcoming. The Valentin Imperial also shows a great deal of environmental consciousness and puts forth a lot of efforts to promote the preservation of the natural environment, which we thou[... read more]ght was fantastic.
The food is incredible and the service is unmatched; you really can’t get any better than this. And every employee is so kind and accommodating, we have so much gratitude for the excellent treatment and next level pampering that we received during our stay. Special thank you to our sweet friends Dora, Alejandra, Manuel, Edwin and all the other wonderful Valentin employees we met - you made our trip so awesome and we are grateful to have met you all!
The entertainment at Valentin was so much fun! Activities every morning and afternoon at both the beach and pool and the nightly shows were incredible - there is so much talent! We also really enjoyed the Mexican night and the carnival games with authentic Mexican entertainment; it was such a beautiful experience to be immersed in the culture. We also played so much pool at the Sports Bar and beach volleyball every day, it was the best. Our favourite entertainment was The Imperial Band with a full line up of mesmerizing musicians who were so talented, energetic and entertaining - we danced our nights away to their live music.
After years of restricted travel and the fear that came from enduring the Covid19 pandemic, Valentin Imperial made us feel welcome to enjoy ourselves with their conscientious and attention to safety.
We are so grateful we chose Valentin Imperial for our honeymoon and eagerly look forward to the next time we can come back and visit!!
Disclaimer to those reading this trying to decide where to go: James and I are Canadians and had the best time here. The service was next level kind, and our cheeks hurt from smiling all day every day. The chefs made INCREDIBLE food and the variety was awesome - so much authentic Mexican cuisine and everything tasted so delicious; drinks were plentiful and delicious also! Everything around the resort is very close in proximity to each other and it’s quite easy to learn the layout of the resort; however, you will be doing a fair bit of walking to and from. The beach is sooo long and beautiful, you’ll have no issue finding a spot. There is a portion of the ocean sectioned off for swimming which is good because that part is all sandbars. Ocean swimming has a gradual decline but doesn’t drop off or get deep right away; waves were plentiful and awesome!

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Barcelo Maya Tropical has it all figured out!!
Well this is the first time we were at this resort and we had a very memorable holiday. 10 Days (mid to end of November 2022) of beautiful weather - even though our weather forecast showed thundershowers every day - we had rain maybe for 5 minutes and then rain clouds were gone.
The grounds on the Tropical and Colonial is absolutely incredible. The grounds are so manicured and travel between all the buildings to get to the restaurants and events are very cool covered wide walk ways - perf[... read more]ect for rainy weather. The way that Barcelo is set up, everywhere you have to be (food, beach, shopping, front desk, bar, etc) is only 5 min walk from anywhere! So if you forget something in your room, it isn't a big deal to go back and get it.
The beach is very nice indeed! With all the tropical palm trees on the beach, you can get as much sun or shade on where you park your butt. There are lots of lounges, but people seem to take extra lounges to put their extra crap on, so by 10 am there are none left usually. Put towels on early is a recommendation, or go to the resort beach to the south, they seemed to have more lounges on the beach.
We are beach people, but the pools are very nice and they are very well laid out for relaxing as well. Great job on how the pools in relationship to the beach!! The bars are busy during the daytime as can be expected, but getting a beverage is usually within 5 min wait at the worst. The beach where the lounges are is very nice and is actually raked every morning - very cool. The only thing is where the ocean meets the beach. The erosion of the waves has left a drop off in a few places - no biggie at all. We bought some water shoes before we left - which were a blessing. They were cool water shoes - great for walking in and out of the water, walking to room, pathways. Get some!! As you got into the ocean there was 3'-5' of rocks and then sand again, so would have been a bit of a pain (literally) without water shoes. Not really the resorts fault from mother nature. I seen some staff cleaning up some of those rocks and within 2 days there were more rocks washed up.
Food at buffet was really good we thought. Obviously there is always issues with buffets, but the resort has done an amazing job we thought for the amount of people that come and want to get fed. Yes of course you get the "not hot" on a few items but they had great variety and usually lots of food. I think they only ran out of bacon once on me, I just didn't wait 5 min for the new batch. Lol They always had the hot plate to hand make omelets, quesadilla, hamburgers, etc. Great job guys - Very tough job to make every one happy.
Room was nice and clean and bed was good. Fridge can be filled up by just asking staff. Tv was a bit lacking - few English channels, but hey, we were not there for the tv. The only complaint is the drunks coming home at 2-3 am and feeling that waking everyone up was ok. Would have been nice to be able to adjust the speed of the ceiling fan - it was either full blast or nothing.
We would highly recommend this resort to anyone and we met a few people that have been there that was their 14 and 5th time at the resort. I guess the only bad thing to complain about is the wifi. Wifi was exceptional throughout everywhere - even on the beach. Needy adult children and elderly parents back in Canada were much too accessible on your phones. :-)
Overall my partner and I really enjoyed our stay at the Royalton Hideaway! The staff are truly wonderful people who made our experience even better! The major downside was subpar selection of fruit. I have stayed at other resorts with delicious tropical fruit and I was very disappointed at the minimal selection. The main buffet was also overly crowded for us at breakfast time so we opted to have breakfast room service instead.

Grand Sunset Princess: Talk about downgrading from a 5 star to a 3 star in 6 years
We where there in 2016 and bought the Platinum Pkg, we where so please , Hence we recommended to our daughter who also went to the resort.
So after Covid, we decided to go again, wow, what a change, the beach has been washed away and the water is certainly not clear and you have to navigate the rocks when going in, so water shoes would help.
Our room had big holes in the wall and mildew on the wall as well, we did complain the next day and moved to another room, for all of our inconvenience[... read more], a cheap bottle of champagne was delivered to our room which we never drank.
There is not Top Shelve liquor as advertised for Platinum members, Absolute was the best Vodka they had and no Jamison.
The food went way downhill as well since 2016, it was like we where in Cuba, the only thing you can get by the pools close to the Platinum area was Taco’s unless you went to the beach
No potato chips or any munchies in your room, And in the main store , a bag of potato chips was $8.00 US
The À la cart dinners where cold, Premade and average at best , believe me, they rushed you out within a hr tops, we had a Gala dinner for all Platinum members that was advertised as a Surf and Turf, which turned out to be one cold shrimp and a steak that there was no way a sharp knife could cut.
All in all, we will not be going back,
All the plus side, the grounds where amazing clean and beautiful
Everything in this resort is absolutely beautiful.......................................................................................................................................................

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Blue Bay Review
Pools were excellent, especially the one furthest from the beach.
The beach area was nice but the water not so much.
Very muddy, not the Caribbean sand we are used to. That’s ok though, just a quick 5 or 6 minute walk south brings you to an incredible beach. Spent our time in the water at that location.
Food was ok. You will always find something to eat, you won’t go hungry.

This was our first trip to a resort with kids and was pleasantly surprised by how few were there.
The Black and White bar needs a complete overhaul.
Kinda sad because this is the only bar here.

Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Great Resort
I love the coffee shop it was amazing all of us loved it . Buffet was great, amix of Mexican food as well as international.
The most amazing thing was the service. Every single staff member was amazing.
I had a junior suite , it was great however at night I could hear everything from the outside so I did not like that too much.
Also, the entertainment team will only play music in English which I was okay with but I would’ve love to have more Latin music sin I was in Mexico.
The locatio[... read more]n of the hotel is good, is right on 5th avenue, so you can walk at night or anytime.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Has potential, but fell drastically short on quality.
Resort listed as a "Luxury" 4 star but is at best a 3. You are welcomed with sewer stench around the lobby building and in areas on the grounds. Half of the public sinks were broken with noticeable urinals clogged or in disrepair. Ceilings in each public area were spotted with water stains from leaks and the thatch roofs had holes. Activities building was under construction as was the entire spa. The gym had half of its cardio equipment broken. The beach is small and has little to no shade cove[... read more]rs unless you pay extra to be in the time share/VIP area. The pool side is similar, with little shade coverage and a lot of seats in the heat of the sun. Expect to be at the pool/beach before 7am to find any covered seats.
Food is fairly good at the buffet and the pool taco stand, but a al carte restaurants fall short. The specialty dinners are overly salted, and you are limited in dishes. It is an all-inclusive, but they tell you no to a second dish while serving sizes are small. The reservation system for meals is very broken. Yet, they only book one day in advance starting at midnight and by 8am most spots are taken. Not a vacation when trying to schedule activities by some limited timeframe. The salad bar at the restaurants is usually picked clean by the later time slots (9pm) for dining, so it feels less of a nice restaurant and more of rush to get you out. BBQ buffet by the small pool was good for meat lovers. Buffet had decent selection, but the lines were a mess and more a free for all so go with patience and it is more enjoyable. At night, the main buffet has a solid sewer smell in the waiting area outside.
Bars were junk and the 24-hour sports bar is more of a barn with cheap lawn furniture. Reminded me of university where you hose down the place at the end of the night and no class to the location. TV's in bar were playing the resort advertisement on loop instead of sports games and asking for them to change the channel got no response. The lounge bar was again a patio with lawn furniture that was uncomfortable and cheap.
Service was almost non-existent. Even with tips the staff ignored you and you were left to line up to get your own drinks/food. Asking for a bottle of water was refused most of the time for lack of supply and you are directed to get a cup from a dispenser. Self serve coffee machines were often broken and the Black and White bar (24 hour) usually had a long line for drinks.
Stood first in line several times and watched myself or others passed over so the bartender would serve fellow Mexicans instead of the next customer. The cart shuttle drivers almost run you over and don't slow down while you are forced to share the same pathway as the work vehicles. Luis at the restaurants and Aldo at the main buffet were great though and engaged in good service.
Room was in disrepair with lights hanging from ceiling holes, rust stained mirrors, and never consistency on towels or even leaving toilet paper. Sinks have no plugs and face cloths appear to be a mythical item to obtain. Leaving tips was lost as service did not change. Even had a welcome package for another guest sent to the room and it clearly was marked for someone else on a different floor!
The company was great, and the sun was awesome. The pool areas are fun even if shaded seats are hard to get. You can get some reprieve from the sun under the bridges by the pool. The resort has space to be great, but just is run down and the workers don't seem to care.
If not for good people I travelled with and met there, I would have been very disappointed with my vacation. At full price this is a rip off and quality is definitely low. If the damaged areas were fixed, and the service showed they cared at least a little, this could be a good place. In the end, it looked run down and with staff constantly wearing "Resting B**** Face".

El Dorado Seaside Palms: Beautiful resort
This was my second time at this resort. I went as one of a group of nine this time and stayed in a luxury junior suite. The other 8 stayed in swim-up rooms.
Enjoyed everything from the room to the views, service and food.
