Melia Jardines del Rey: Lovely property
Enjoyed our stay. Great beach. Food was good. And rooms were clean. Only negative was the mosquitoes at night. Could not sit outside for long. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Preferred the buffet to the a la carte. Great breakfast.
Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Decent
The resort was beautiful and the ocean , nice rooms. The service was hit and miss. The coffee at the bar is different than what I’ve had at other resorts in Cuba. They seem to like making cappuccino and espresso black compared to a coffee with milk. Food not much variety.. towels had were in shortage so used for a whole week. Some people used their room towels. The currency is also a rip off.. 20$ you get like 14 pesos around that.
Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: OK resort - nice vacation but would go somewhere else next time
Didn't have high expectations because of other reviews I had read. Food was okay, A-La-Cartes we're not good, and dress code was enforced. Buffet was okay, but serve the exact same thing everyday for lunch and dinner. Strangely, there was a huge beach towel shortage. luckily we had brought our own based on reviews we had read otherwise we would not have had beach towels the entire week. Staff was very friendly and helpful, beaches were amazing, pool was great as well.
Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Very nice staff but sub par facilities
The front desk, bar staff and recreation/entertainment staff were amazing, friendly and so helpful; they made the trip. The rooms however were not always serviced properly. When I checked into my room there were stained sheets on the bed that were not changed even after the room was serviced. There was no water at all for a couple of days straight, could not even flush the toilet. Overall the food was ok but I do think there should have been more frequent kid-friendly staples, eg hot dogs [... read more]
Melia Jardines del Rey: very nice
We loved the hotel, the staff was friendly and accommodating, the rooms were clean and spacious. We enjoyed a sailboat ride and a trip to Lenny"s for lobster and shrimp. The Japanese restaurant just off the resort was excellant.
Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Very close to pillar beach
Very good resort. But we stay in the ground level, at the first night my friend leave their beach shoes and some wet swimming shorts on the balcony, and they all gone by next morning.so take care of your belongings.
Hotel Camino del Mar: Very nice resort
The resort is amazing. The grounds are very well taken care of. Our room was very clean and lovely. We had a beautiful view of the pool and the ocean. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Service was great. The food was plenty and excellent. We have no complaints what so ever. We will return without hesitation. Great holiday.
Hotel Mojito: Fantastic Vacation
What a nice hotel. We enjoyed the whole resort. We were last here in the fall of 2015. We will be coming back again. Our room was nice. We had a view of the ocean and the Adult pool. The food and drinks were great. We can't say enough about this place.
Melia Jardines del Rey: Believe the negative reviews
We would only recomend the beach that by the way was the best we have ever seen, just unreal nice looking!!!The room was clean ! The staff looked overworked but friendly! Just read all the negative reviews, that how it is! The only reason we did not move to another hotel was the beach and the fact that the room was nice and clean and we were only there for 5 days! PS pools are not clean, buffet is not clean, beach restaurant had constant smell , food is not labeled at all!
Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: beautiful resort
the resort was very nice, the grounds and rooms are clean very well kept the one area that gave us misgivings was that the beach it is a long walk from the rooms, it is set up with lounges and cabanas for a few hundred people, they are very close together and there is only one washroom for everyone!... we stayed at the wonderful pool area. they had issues with beach towels, we didn't get beach towels until our 6th day....had to use our shower towels (which are much smaller than beach towels)
Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Amazing Beach
The beach was great. One of the best spots for swimming and watching the Kite Surfers. The food was not the greatest, and I basically had to get into an argument with one of the maids to get her to give me a freakin roll of toilet paper. Other than that the staff was SO awesome. Very friendly. The landscapers do an amazing job and work so hard. The tennis courts are falling apart and there was no beach volleyball so that was a bit disappointing. The gym was pretty run down too. Overall, it's a f [... read more]
Hotel Playa Paraiso: Amazing resort!
The staff is very accommodating and goes out of their way to make you feel special. Great entertainment, wonderful beach, amazing food and snack bars. Just a wonderful place all around. It was my second time there and would go again!!!
Hotel Mojito: BEST EVER HOLIDAY
Good times, Great viewing, Super Services and Yummy food and drinks. Only one problem, I am a disabled person and the only room left was on the 3 floor. The hotel and beach made up for it. We had a superb stay and look forward to our next visit, maybe on the 1st floor. THANK YOU AND ALL WHO MADE IT [... read more]
Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Not my first choice!!
There were 3 of us gals, 3 separate rooms. The check in process was easy and quick. The rooms were assigned already and keys were ready in a folder. Bracelets on quick... The rooms were nice except my friend said her bathroom had mould. There was a shortage of balcony chairs. My room had 2, my friends had none. If you looked at the balconies from the outside, you could see 50% did not have chairs. The chairs in the lobby were made from the cheapest foam. I could not sit on any of them. I am an [... read more]
Hotel Playa Paraiso: very nice resort
The beach and the water were amazing. We arrived at noon excited to get to the beach but too early to check in. We were told to go back and check in at 3-3:30 but the room was not ready yet and was not ready till 5. We waited in the lobby for over an hour. WE couldn't understand why one room was taking so long especially when we booked weeks before. Customer service offered us a VIP dinner that we did not receive. We got to the room and the floors were still wet. The room was really nice t [... read more]
Melia Jardines del Rey: The resort is in a good location, beach is great. The pools are well kept. Need more towels.
The grounds and resort was well kept, clean overall. The beach was clean. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Manuel (Mohammad) as his boss refers to him, great curtious polite went out of his way to help the guest. Wish him and his wife the best of luck with the journey of starting a family, he will make a great dad. Ernesto part of the entertainment was a fantastic individual who always had a smile on his face. This is one person who enjoys his job. Entertainment was gr [... read more]
Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: I’ll be back!
Amazing beach! Beautiful warm water and soft sand. Food was really good, much better than other resorts I’ve been to in Cuba. Very nice staff. Rooms were clean and air conditioning worked well. Nice small resort so everything is within a couple minutes walk. We all loved it!
Muthu Colonial Hotel: Won’t be back
We were both looking forward to our time at this resort, but shortly after our arrival we received our first clue this was not going to be the vacation we anticipated when we found out they would not be able to serve us Mojitos all week because they didn’t have any mint! What?!? Doesn’t mint grow like a weed and aren’t we in Cuba? We quickly learned many things would not be available or would run out. The hotel turned off all the water several times for hours. Our room was hotter than it [... read more]
Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Not what it used to be
We just got back from a 7 day stay at this resort. This was the third visit to this hotel. We went in 2015,2017 and again this year. We were very disappointed this year. I will begin with the negatives: rooms are aged and not clean. Our room was in block 3 ground floor. It was not clean. Stains and mildew on the bath curtain and in the corners of the room and bathroom. Toilet that you can only flush once every half an hour. And the worst thing was that two days out of the 7 there was no COL [... read more]
Melia Cayo Coco: 3rd visit to Melia Cayo Coco
A big thank you to Jennifer Brown at Trip Central for booking our vacation. She is very professional, answered all our questions and made it easy for us to relax knowing everything was taken care of. Lovely, quiet resort with staff who go above and beyond to give an exceptional experience. The beach is phenomenal. Very short bus ride from the airport. The rooms are clean although the bathrooms could use an update. Buffet didn’t have as much variety this time but we always found something [... read more]
