Paradisus Rio De Oro: Wonderful vacation

We stayed in the Royal section and it was well worth the extra. The staff were amazing, rooms are lovely. We found the food to be a bit disappointing, not as good as our last visit a few years ago. Entertainment in both sections was really good. Lots of loungers always available around the pool and gardens, and lots of shady spots. Lots of walking to various areas but we didn’t mind and only took the shuttle at night. Shuttles were always available. We did tip a bit but found it didn†[... read more]™t make any difference, service was always excellent. The gardens were lovely and well kept. We thought maybe more attention should be paid to lights that had broken which made walking at night a bit difficult. We will return as we loved it so much.

Sol Cayo Coco: Wonderful time!

The rooms and hotel are spotless. The staff so friendly and accommodating. They can't do enough for you. Always something to do from learning the mambo, exercising in the pool or ocean, playing games, boat tour. We will definitely go back.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Excellent Resort

This was my first trip out of Canada. My Brother and Sister in Law bought the trip for me as a gift. The Resort was beautiful. Pools were clean, All the bars were well stocked and service was excellent. Rooms were clean. This is an easy resort to get around due to it's size and layout.. Would definitely go back.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Nice resort

This is the second time we stayed at this resort. Very good location, excellent beach, well-kept grounds, friendly service. Good size rooms. Good food (by Cuban standards). Nightly entertainment - a couple of shows were really good. Downside - really hard to rent a car or even a scooter, unless pre-arranged during the booking. Would likely come again.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Terrific!!!

First time visiting this resort. We had absolutely no complaints about our room and our chambermaid was awesome! The beach was beautiful and clean and never had a problem finding chairs. Loved the bartenders there and in the lobby. Clean resort, friendly staff and beautiful weather. That is what makes a vacation great.

Melia Buenavista: Amazing hotel

This hotel is a little older but well kept. Very clean, nice plants around the hotel, restaurants are very nice. The rooms are huge and well kept. The staff are very polite and super neat looking. The beaches were great there were three to choose from and all were well kept .

Memories Cayo Largo: A Good "No Frills" Resort.....

The resort is less than 4 miles from the airport. The grounds are well maintained. The buildings are built on approximately 3 ft. high stilts. The buildings, rooms, salt water pools, sidewalks etc. are dated & do need some repair. The beaches are awesome. Food in the La Dunas buffet is usually cold since there are no heated lights, so we had freshly prepared eggs, meats, fish & pasta. There are the usual suspects at the dinner buffet: pork; chicken, beef; and fish. The food in the 2 a la c [... read more]artes restaurants, Cuban & International, is much better. The Solazul snack bar features pizza, chicken baguette, 3 types of pasta, fried calamari or fish and a bar, of course. Breakfast in Las Dunas begins at 7:30 a.m. Lunch in the Ranchon begins at 12:30 p.m. and is a worthwhile place for lunch offering grilled chicken, pork sausages, hamburgers, hot dogs and a pork roast. Lunch at Las Dunas begins at 1:00 p.m. but the selections are sparse. Dinner in Las Dunas & the a la cartes begins at 7:00 p.m. We had no bacon at breakfast until our last day just before we had to board our bus. Our room was well maintained, but we waited 3 hours before we were able to move in. Once in, we discovered that the king mattress was faulty, and was never replaced. We didn't have towels until the evening of our 3rd day. The air conditioner was finally fixed on the 2nd day. The lobby bar does not have an extensive selection of liquors. There is no brandy, cognac, kahlua or amaretto, but their rums are plentiful. The native Cubans are friendly & helpful when asked about anything. It's definitely a quiet, relaxing resort with shows beginning at 9:30 p.m. Buses to Playa Sirena are "free" and available only in the morning. It's definitely a very worthwhile trip. The palapas can be rented for 2 cucs and water can be purchased for 1 cuc.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great Resort

Just the right size to manage with walking although we walked a lot. The room was great. Even the food overall was fine. The beach is amazing white sand. The weather was great for January-we had one day when it was colder. The havana excursion is a "must do" for one time but the bus trip is terrible.

The resort grounds are beautiful and well kept. The property is showing it’s age a bit with slightly dated rooms. We had excellent service from everyone from check in to the servers, beach staff and entertainment crew. Everyone friendly and helpful. Our room was kept spotless and well stocked. The food is the food in Cuba but we enjoyed the Sakura Japanese a la carte which was entertaining and had delicious food prepared in front of you. One thing I liked a lot was not having to wear a bracelet! Because the resort is at the far end of the peninsula there were no vendors on the beach and it was nice and quiet. There was a bit of seaweed but not enough to be smelly or get in the way.

Memories Cayo Largo: Great Resort

We arrived Jan 13 -20, 2019. We had to wait three hours for a room which we didn't like. Our room eventually was at the back of the resort but we had booked last minute. Room needs to be updated as it looked tired and needed some paint. Bed was not good. Felt like springs were out. Other than that - food was good (buffet morning food was a bit cold but I think people complained and so they fixed that problem. Al la cartes were great. Cuban and International. Two pools which were very  [... read more]nice. We stayed on quiet side of pool and it wasn't crowded at all. Beach was amazing. Waves were high the first few days but calmed down. Naturalist beach at one end. People very friendly. Staff amazing. Lots of cats so bring cat food. There is an area of fish and a turtle which we fed daily. Friendly bar where most people congregated before and after dinner. We plan on going back next year hopefully for two weeks. Weather was amazing, warm and sunny all day. (No snowstorms like home).

Memories Cayo Largo: Great value

It is not a 5 star resort so food may be limited. Staff go the extra mile to please and very friendly. Lovely grounds kept clean. My second time at this resort and will return. The beach is washed out. compared to a previous visit but we managed. Beach erosion controlled by Mother Nature and not the hotel. As the title says this is a good value vacation.

Hotel Vigia: Good resort

Not bad for cuba the food is great and the service is great although the workers are veey over worked and the security and management staff is very rude and not welcoming, and they demand and receive better service than the guests.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Mediocre resort

The resort leaves a lot to be desired. I will start with the food the buffet is awful. The Don Pepperone Medittereanean restaurant is decent. The Bistro is decent. The rooms are so so. The washrooms are run down. You can’t get beach towels unless you beg customer service. The one snack bar is nasty and the food made me sick. The beach is beautiful, but good luck getting the drink you ask for, run out of Chrystal beer often. Melia Varadero: Great resort!

My boyfriend and another couple visited this resort in mid January. Weather was great!!!! Cloudy at times but the perfect break from the sun. The beach is stunning and along the penisula. The resort its self has good food and THE BEST STAFF, so hospitable. I high recommend THE LEVEL upgrade. We upgraded when we got to the resort and it was no issue at all. It gives you access to a bar/cafe upstairs that always have food/premium beer etc. You also get free golfing which was great.The rooms were c [... read more]lean and comfortable. The entire resort was also immaculately clean. Our only downside to this resort was that we really enjoy a swim up bar, and a bit more of a lively animation entertainment.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Amazing resort

Good quality food. Clean. Silent. Wonderful amenities. WiFi free and nod bad quality. Snorkeling equipment free. Scuba diving free. Good quality alcohol. No lines. Wooden heart crafting free. Room service (7000) is free. Only shows medium quality. All other is very nice.

Melia Cayo Coco: Melia Cayo Coco

This was our second at the Melia Cayo Coco and were not disappointed. Great beach, great weather, good clean resort with immaculate grounds, friendly and helpful staff, good food and lots of fun. We are already planning our return later this year. We ran in to a couple from London, Ontario that have been there 71 times in the last 12 years if that says anything. We felt like we were treated like royalty. See you soon!!

Sol Cayo Coco: Awesome vacation at Sol Cayo Coco

This was our second time to the Sol! We love the resort. It is older and exceptionally clean and the food is good as well. The staff are like our family! We have personal relationships with many of them. Love love love the Sol❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hotel Camino del Mar: Beautiful resort

The grounds were well kept, the rooms were clean, the food was better than expected. Overall, despite the depressed state of their economy, and the fact that communism really is a bad idea, the resort delivered exactly what I was looking for.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: To bad they only good that came out of this was the weather and a great flight !

After we had arrived we waited almost 2hrs before we even headed towards the resorts selling the beer seemed important not having a clue of how many and names who were to be on the bus lack . Two on the desk with a full bus long waits to get booked in long day as it was, I have some health issues taking to our around 11pm or so after which I didn't last long the mold smell caused me to stat throwing up. So back to the desk to explain which hear we go again waiting finally a manager and bell boy  [... read more]who spoke good English of we go to check another room mold smell again we ended going into 5 rooms that night were we finally ended over by the ocean area on the third floor. only room I didn't throw up in but the stairs were hard with my disability. Ended up with no phone locked out of our room 4 times and had to leave door open to get back with a safe not working also. Manager stated that rides to the dinning room would not be a problem for the wk by the bell boys which was a long way from us. With no phone we would have to walk to the snack shop two times a day for a ride for meals. Sad part one night we waited over an hr and every day going for meals was a living hell, no one spoke English it was all Spanish the rooms I would say were very clean , grounds, friendly though none of us understood . Bottom line I would never come back to Melia first bad trip.
