Barcelo Bavaro Palace: A great resort

Overall, a very nice resort. Ideal for families and large groups, lots to do on the resort for everybody. Good restaurants and food was good, but not dynamic, but had lots of food. Once you are familiar with the layout, it is easy to get around. Staff was excelleent, friendly, very accommodating and very polite. Easy check-in and any problems encountered were not an issue with the staff. I highly recommend the resort for vacations.

Occidental Caribe: Very disappointed

Where do I begin. The first room I had, the door jam was broken (as if it had been kicked in), the room was not clean, tables had sticky surface, bathroom wasn’t clean, (pubic hairs everywhere) safe didn’t work. The building itself required some TLC, the grounds and pool areas were great. I ended up upgrading my room which was in much cleaner, although it had a musty smell. There was a shortage of towels and some days I had to find someone from house keeping to get a towel to shower. The [... read more] food was disappointing, very bland and limited variety. There was a shortage of lounge chairs for both the pool and beach had to get up at 5am to get a longe chair. I was also surprised that most of the staff spoke very little English which communication difficult. Bottom line I feel this property is not 4 star, definitely not worth the price paid. Would definitely not return to this resort.

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Very Good Resort

Onyx is a large complex but its layout leaves a lot of space. The well designed, low architecture does not overwhelm. This is a family resort. We enjoyed the presence of happy families with cheerful kids. The beach is long and wide with sandy access to the water. There are waves practically every day but this allows great body surfing and water play close to the shore. For good swimmer there is about 500m distance to cover along the shoreline. All restaurants in the Onyx complex do not require reservation and some form of dress code adds to the ambience of this resort.

Grand Bavaro Princess: Nice resort

property was well taken care of, rooms were clean and very comfortable, platinum buffet food was cold but main buffet food was always warm lots to choose from and staff very friendly, beach was kept clean, pool bartenders and waitresses very friendly. not much for night life, resort was large and shuttles were always full,especially at supper time as you have people coming from beach and pools so hard to get a ride.

Grand Bavaro Princess: the resort was beautiful

The grounds were gorgeous and I loved all of the wildlife. My one complain is that it was difficult to get sugar free soda. None of the restaurants seemed to have it I got coca cola zero at one bar and in my room only had it one day and was replaced with regular coca cola. Being a diabetic as I am sure thousands of travellers are it is a necessary item.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Great resort!

The resort was beautifully maintained. The trolly ran all the time and it is need based on the size of the resort. The only issue we had were the location of the rooms. We were assigned a room on the 3rd floor of our building and I found it extremely difficult to climb the stairs with a bad knee. We asked to be moved but the hotel would not accommodate us. This forced me to walk less due to the pain from climbing the stairs.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Amazing Resort

Everything was great. We encountered some issues upon check-in. We paid for Colonial Club and we were issued a regular room. We were compensated with Spa time. We were to stay 1 night in regular room. When we went to check in the next day to the proper room they said tomorrow. We put our foot down and 1/2 hr later they magically found us a room in Colonial Club.

Occidental Punta Cana: Spotless and we'll maintained

The resort was beautiful. Staff were constantly cleaning and working on maintenance. There were gorgeous flowers everywhere. The food in the restaurants was delicious. Serving staff were friendly and helpful.

Riu Republica: Excellent resort

The positive of Riu: good quality and quantity of food; good personnel; overall resort was very well maintained. The only negative is the overly loud music. Even though there are pools without music, the neighboring pools music was so loud that it permeated the quiet pools. It is an adult only resort, but young adults that like loud music. We are adult seniors.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Wonderful place to stay!

The staff were friendly, funny and very accommodating. The resort is beautiful and easy to get around. The beach is fantastic and immaculate. Food was great! If anyone has anything bad to say about their stay here, they are wrong.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Awesome Vacation Resort!

This resort has spacious, clean and well kept rooms with great housekeeping staff. The food at the buffet, a la cartes and snack bar is better than any resort I have ever vacationed at before. The pool is very large and can accommodate many people. Relaxing at the beach was great, however, the beach itself has eroded due to weather. The only draw back, this is not the resorts fault, is that patrons reserve loungers with their towels at the pool and beach, but do not use them. Temptation Miches Resort 21 Plus: Surprised it is new...

Room: dirty, cigarette burns on the carpet, shoddy workmanship, pubic hair on the floor never cleaned. Seems like they rushed the finishing work (ie, grout slopped and left to dry on top of tiles, paint sloppy, doors not installed properly. I had to fix the toilet on first night as it was not installed properly) Food: Very good overall. Pools: discusting, dirty swampy water, broken tiles. Beach: beautiful, Sandy, no seaweed. Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: Great Resort!

Resort was great! A la carte restaurants were great. Food at these restaurants tasted awesome. Buffet food was cold, unless you got homade omelets, pasta or crepes. Our butler Juan was awesome. He was always eager to help.

Punta Cana Princess: Lovely resort

Loved the bright colours of the resort and the beautiful grounds with lots of palm trees. Pool had lots of seating so there was no pressure to get up early to reserve a spot. Beach was amazing: clean and had tiki huts for shade and shelter. Food was delicious, with 4 a La carts and a buffet. Rooms were okay, bed was very stiff. Spanish is primary language, and English was rough/minimal with some of the staff. The resort could use some overall maintenance: chunks out of countertops, some cracked tiles, painting touch ups. But I understand if funds from Covid are catching up for these repairs.

Caribe Deluxe Princess: Lovely Resort

Beautiful resort with lovely well kept grounds. Buildings clean, several restaurants with varied menus, all good, we had opportunity to eat at five of the restaurants. Two items of concern, poor signing of the buildings ie. the restaurants. The Resort itself was not signed. Second concern, very poor to no communication of what the resort had to offer. Suggestion, a daily flier listing activities of the day.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Got Food Poisoning! Staff Don't Speak English

I would recommend going elsewhere. Staff don't speak english well, it was too crowded, Wifi was poor around the pool, and they did not even have containers to let you take food out of the buffet. Buffet was super crowded. Joint room reservations were not honoured so if you have a big group and want to stay together or around the same complex, good luck with that. Staff don't wait on you and there is no welcome drinks at the reception. Entertainment/ shows are sparse and there's not even goo [... read more]d music by the pool and music around the pool is on and off maybe for only 1 to 2 hours each day. There were rarely any spoons to eat your soup and by the time the server got your spoon your soup was cold. No room service and all other activities (pool, bowling, air hockey etc) are pay only. The DJ sucked, playing the same music every night. The only good thing was the artwork around the resort and the individual hot tubs per suite. There are not enough lounge chairs. Food at Coral takes forever to come.

Temptation Grand Miches Resort 21 Plus: Great stay

Overall we were very happy with our stay at Temptations. We had a few issues which I have outlined below but certainly nothing that would prevent us from returning! The resort is beautiful. The rooms are a perfect size and very well appointed with an amazing bathroom/shower. The common areas are vast and built to hold a lot of guests. Being new, they are only at 1/2 capacity. Our first room was on the main floor in building 5. Unfortunately, there was an overwhelming perfume smell. We immediately asked for a room change. Considering the resort was well under capacity that should have been an easy task but it wound up taking appx 4 hours and multiple trips to the check in desk. We were assigned a butler who asked we call him Neil as his name was difficult to pronounce. Basically, Neil gave us a briefing. Signed us up for a welcome tour which was actually a “membership pitch” and told us he had us booked into one of the most popular restaurants for the following night at 6 pm. Too early for our liking but he said it was well worth leaving the pool early! Turns out he didn’t make any reservation so we wound up dressed for dinner at 6! The people at She informed us that they don’t even open until 7:30! We check with management who promised a reservation for the following night as did Neil. After checking with the restaurant to make sure we were booked they informed us that they were closed for that evening. We finally made our own reservation without any help from our butler. We didn’t hear from or even see again during our 7 day stay. Regarding the membership pitch, we were asked for 20.00 that would be returned when we showed up for the pitch which was only to take an hour from our vacation. We did get the 20.00 back but the pitch took over 2 hours and they don’t take no for an answer easily. In hindsight we wouldn’t agree to going. The main pool is very dark and in my opinion has filtration issues! Definitely should be investigated. Now for the positives: The wait and entertainment staff are the best I have encountered at any resort and we have stayed at 50 or more. Positive attitudes and smiling faces every day! We tipped well but because it was deserved not because we felt pressured to do so. The drinks are really good and the food was also very good. The beach is beautiful and you can walk for miles. We were always able to find chairs and shade. That will change when the capacity increases so more huts will be needed. This was our first time at a Temptations so we didn’t know what to expect but we felt perfectly comfortable as bystanders and would certainly go back. The buffet was only open for breakfast while we were there most likely due to low occupancy but there are several restaurant options for dinner well as a great snack bar beside the pool serving burgers, pasta, salads, etc. A bbq was set up a few days as well. The evening entertainment is top notch and we usually don’t bother with shows! The dancers are amazing and the dance party afterwards is upbeat and fun, There is a open food area for the late night partiers. For some people, especially those who like to turn in early the music would be considered too loud. The sound really echos around the resort and goes until 1:30-2:00 am. Overall we had a great week and are considering returning in April.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Gorgeous resort!

The grounds were beautiful and very well kept up, the staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. We were pleasantly surprised that you could get breakfast late at the Beach Restaurant, and a meal, not just fries and burgers, at the late night restaurant. We went to the family resort even though we are childless, and did not regret it. We aren't partiers and the resort was so quiet. The one thing to keep in mind is that the pool on the family resort closes at 6pm, so no late night swims [... read more], but we did not miss it at all. Also, every room has a Jacuzzi tub, so thats a great way to spend the evening too!

Ocean El Faro: Great Resort

Everything was clean and beautiful. Staff were great and grounds were amazing. The gym was small but perfect for what you want to do on vacation. You could always find something you really enjoyed at the buffet and the restaurants were great too. No complaints

Occidental Caribe: Bad service, beautiful beach

First of all, we are not fussy people and usually close our eyes on lots of things, but this place beats it all. It is definitely not a 4 star hotel. Rooms are old and smell like mold, plumbing is rusty and needs major repairs. The stuff seems to be not motivated.
