Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Bothersome Booking .... still continue

The resort itself is wonderful, as are most of the staff. The beach is absolutely gorgeous. The food this time around was the best I've ever had in Cuba. (3rd time at Memories Caribe, 6th time in Cuba) The issue I have is with what is available for booking. At Memories Caribe, you can book the type of room you want. Having been there several times, I booked and paid for a Superior Lakeview Balcony room. Upon arrival, I was told that it wasn't available as they were all under renovation. I exp [... read more]lained that I paid for a Superior Lakeview Balcony room. The girl at the front desk kept aplogizing and saying there wasn't anything she could do. Told us to talk to the Sunwing rep. Which we did. He sent us to talk to Guest Services, who apologized, explained that the rooms were under renovation, and she was downright rude and condescending. It wasn't until we put up a fuss and asked to speak to the manager that we got any sort of resolution/compensation. I get it. The rooms were approved for renovation after we booked (or so the manager explained). THEN upon arrival, it should have been explained to us and they should have offered some sort of compensation/upgrade (which they ultimately did) at that time. That I would have understood. The fact that we had to talk to several people and got the same unacceptable response really dampened by vacation experience. I am positive that we were NOT the only guests in the same situation. Upgrading someone to Diamond Club isn't always the answer which they seem to feel it is. If I would have wanted Diamond Club to start with, I would have paid for it. To me it's more about the acknowledgement on their part. Had they done that upon our arrival, I would be writing a totally different review. Even worse, today I log into tripcentral and Superior Lakeview Balcony rooms are still for sale. At a cost of $80 more than a Gardenview room, which is where most guests will end up. VERY UNFORTUNATE. When I rate service as POOR - it's because of the arrival desk and guest services (although Julia and Ernesto did make every effort later to make sure things were going well). Bar staff, restaurant staff - FANTASTIC service.

Memories Paraiso: What a wonderful Resort

This resort was amazing!! We went down as a family of 6, even know the weather was not great for the first few days we made the best of it. The food was good, always something to eat, the beach was amazing and the staff went above and beyond. It's a very well maintained, clean resort. We cant wait to return in the near future.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: A Beautiful Oasis

This is my third time to the Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero...I was there May, June & October 2016 and cannot get enough of their hospitality. The Manager Francesco to the butlers Jose, Hanoi, Able, Mauricio could not do enough and all recognized us. Great fun to reunite and with Tony driving the electric carts. The service in the lounge and restaurant at the sanctuary was outstanding, always a smile from the staff, very attentive and food was well prepared. All the staff including the animation leader Betsy, pool attendant Denis, pool bartenders & beach staff and bartenders could not do enough for the guests....so pleasant and always wanting to do more. The facilities at the hotel are great especially the cappuccino/lounge & the well maintained pool. Cannot emphasis enough the wonderful staff. It was a great hotel to stay and experience. The food was very good although the Cuba night dinner was not my favorite....I did love the lobster dinners, gala night, white party and the candlelight dinner at the pool though!

Grand Memories Varadero: Mixed reviews

It was very beautiful on sight but then when you got to your room , sadly disappointed with the neglected look, shabby curtains, bedspread , shower rail broken resulting in falling out of tub, slight musty smell ...the food was okay for me but hubby got sick , outside absolute beauty and the fun and the dancing outside is good , wine ran out early every single day and night , bottom line , we had high hopes but won't be returning sadly

Resonance Blu Varadero: Fun for less

I stayed in a suite which I loved. Two bathrooms, a sitting room, ocean view and a comfortable bed. There is enough of a selection of food to fill a person up. Bring your own hot sauce and it tastes much better. Drink selection is limited because there isn't much for mix.The staff is great whether it is the wait staff or cleaners. Acknowledge them and you will be looked after.

Grand Memories Varadero: A very friendly resort! And, it's huge!

Impressed with the friendly welcome. Beautiful grounds, meticulously kept. Amazing pools (afternoon entertainment a bit noisy). Buffet was decent, typical of most all-inclusives, I believe. Room was clean but dated (doesn't reflect the modern public areas). Nightly entertainment in theatre was good, energetic and fun. It's on the end of the peninsula so walking into the town isn't an option. We had a great week with friends.

Grand Memories Varadero: Great resort

The service at this resort was fantastic. We were treated so well. Many of the servers remembered our names and and were always friendly and professional. The landscape is beautiful and very well kept. The food at the buffet had many choices and the food at the al a carte restaurants was excellent.

Sol Turquesa Beach: very satisfied

I visited this resort for several times and still we come back with a good feeling. Sometimes some minor defects but after consultation with the management still met to our satisfaction. A little longer transporting the airport (including time at customs and passport controle) and that I should comment whether it would be possible to provide a "passenger" some "refreshment" of water, because all the time from the arrival, the arrival to the resort is sometimes 3 and more hours.

Grand Memories Varadero: Not bad

The resort was ok. Pool was never cleaned . Food was good pasta bar great n our egg lady for breakfast. The kitchen staff did not have the right utensils to cook with. Late check out is expensive n we had two children under 4 with us and a 85 year old grama

Memories Jibacoa: Just Okay Now

This was our second time at this resort. We had a good time but probably won't be back. The first time was 2004 when it was Breezes. We definitely liked it better as Breezes. We like the location, the layout is small and easy to get around. Overall, the staff are helpful and friendly. Some of the same staff from 2004 are still there. Management didn't acknowledge or reply to my 2 emails I sent regarding our anniversary, so that was a bit annoying. The demographics have changed and for us in our  [... read more]late 40's, we felt very young there. I was told that some UK travel agencies sell this as a seniors resort. Only a handful of people under 40 during our week and tons over 65, 75 even 85. With that said, when the disco was open, they played American Rap music...? Some salsa, pop or rock would have been nice, hence the disco was empty and closed early on the nights it actually opened. I know the a/c is broken, but my group would have danced to some good music. The old head chef from Jamaica (Breezes) had amazing food and tons of variety. This time, the buffet had pretty much the same food every day at lunch and dinner with almost no variety. We go to Cuba quite often and this was bad even by Cuba standards. The a la carte restaurants were a bit of a step above the buffet. Some upkeep needs to be done, some minor renovations are in order. Overall a nice stay, but not a memorable vacation like when it was Breezes. For the discounted price we paid, we were happy, but I wouldn't pay the rack rate here anymore.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Another wonderful trip!

Once again, another fabulous time at Memories. The stall was great as always and the resort was as beautiful as ever. The food is improving all the time and the choices are many and varied. Improvements were being made to the middle pool at the time of our vacation, and it was ready to open when we were leaving. They are constantly maintaining the grounds and facilities at this resort, so that guests can have the best possible vacation. This resort was absolutely beautiful, a hidden paradise. Rooms were spacious and very pretty. Service was outstanding and the food was good. I have no complaints and I will return year after year......

I have been to this resort 3 times and each time I enjoy it more The service is amazing and the staff is always available and no matter what is going on they have a smile and make your day Yamir operates the cigar bar and his knowledge and expertise about cigars is amazing The beach is fabulous It is a sight and experience you don't want to. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Just Nice!!!

Rooms was clean,grounds lush and beautiful,beach rocky due to many storms the food was better than many other resorts in Cuba Oscar makes mean Mojitos,don't bother with the food at the a la carte restaurants all the staff was nice

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: The best vacation ever

Everything was nice, clean , colorful & organized .All personal's were very nice & friendly, entertainments were amazing .I loved the food, pool & even they were cleaning the beach ! I had a great time & maybe go back again there .Big thanks to all

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Good Resort

Great Rooms and room service. Water Park all that we hoped Food average for Dominican but clean facility and dishes regularly replenished Unfortunately kids club was closed the week that we re there. Offered alternative but not full program that was expected. Some bars took short cuts in mixing drinks versus the mixed drinks as they stated on their bar menu. Lot of tiled surfaces at this resort looks great but wear good footware

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Somewhat dissapointed

Having gone to this resort last October we found that the rooms during our stay this year between Sept 28th and October the 6th was dissapointing. The first room we got showed 27 degress and would not go down. Requested a changed of room and the hotel opened 2 different rooms and asked me to choose. Despite my asking for a room with an AC that worked, they did not have a clue. Food is quite good for Cuba. Hurricane Matthew blew by without disruption of our vacation.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Run down Rooms

The first impression we had to use the washroom in the common area in the lobby when we went in there was no toilet paper or paper towel and several of the stalls were out of order. This was the norm during the entire vacation. We checked in and was taken to our rooms which was not what we had asked for so we had to go back changed rooms again. The room we stayed in had a faulty air conditioner and mould all over the walls and ceiling it was damp and smelly. the bar fridge was dirty. The [... read more] towels were disgusting stained, discolored, well you they looked like they were been used to the clean the floors. The good part the grounds were beautifully kept the staff was nice and friendly very helpful.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Paradise !

This was my second time at MEMORIES CARIBE BEACH RESORT and it was better than the first time. The staff are fantastic very friendly especially the main buffet chiefs and waiting staff they will go above and beyond for you . The beach/pool and hotel grounds are clean and kept up very well. The only complaints I have are that they need more venders to visit the resort threw out the week to buy gifts and the other complaint is that the room cleaning staff (not all only a few ) could be more frie [... read more]ndly and not so rude. Memories Paraiso: Really good for the price !!!!!

The price is really good and the hotel (its rooms) have some deficiencies, eventhough, globally it's not bad at all....The first room I was given was bad, had bad odor, air conditioning didn't work well and was very dark in the outside, so I asked to be changed to a better one the next morning....They immediately gave me another one, which in those aspects was good, but the phone didn't work and had no radio....I kept it as is because those defects were not significant for me....I can say that t [... read more]he beach is magnificent, very big and excepcional thin sand, I loved it.....
