Hotel Vigia: Beautiful Beach and Staffs.

We were told it was a 3.5 and it was. The beach was a 10 and so were the staffs. The rooms are in need of repair and the food (stayed at several other Cuba resorts) was limited. Don't get me wrong you won't go hungry but there was only one day with bacon at breakfast. Like other resorts they always had fries. Ran out of their equivalent of 7up most of the week. Melia Costa Rey: Big Resort

Staff - Great, Rooms - Great, Public Areas and Grounds very good. Bug spraying in evening not good while people walking around or sitting. Beach - Great, Dining (Buffet) like a cafeteria, very loud same food every day. Last two days at resort they ran out of tonic water and club soda.

On the positive side: nice, new hotel, clean rooms (thanks to our wonderful maid Maria) nice beach and pools quite a wide selection of dishes and drinks at the main buffet restaurant very good pre-show concerts Now the negatives: few dishes were labelled so it was hard to know what they were in many cases there were no plates to put serving utensils on so they ended up in the bowls/on plates filled with food (major risk of contamination) simply horrible tea and coffee NO t [... read more]ea or coffee at the a la carte restaurants (!!!) no sparkling water available next to none service at the main lobby in the morning (didn't go there at other times so wouldn't know) an endless line up at the counter and "dazed and confused" looking waitresses who seemed not to know why they were there never came to the table unless called staff drinking hard liquor on the job not even trying to hide the fact (coconut guys, beach bar), some visibly impaired swimming pools closing ridiculously early I do appreciate the concern for the guests' safety and do understand that people should not be in those pools after dark but there was no reason to kick people out at 6 pm when it was still bright until almost 8 pm The pool guy and the security seemed to have different standards for the local people who could splash in the pool well after the closing (Friday night before Alain Perez's Saturday night show) and the "regular" guests. I believe that they should be reminded that their job is to protect the guests and make their stay at the hotel enjoyable rather than to harass them. the grounds need major work the wake up call we requested never came Your survey shows the beach and the pools as one item! The beach would be getting 5 and the pools 3 (too noisy, very loud music, people soaking and drinking in the middle of the pool making it impossible to swim for others)

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Third time at IPP

We have stayed at IPP three times over the past few years and it never fails to please us. It is the wonderful staff members we encounter at each visit that keep us coming back here not to mention the beautiful grounds, buildings and boardwalk. Cheers Dapa81

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Great resort!

I loved this resort although it was my first time down south so not much to compare it to. I liked the intimate feeling of it as there is a small amount of guests. The grounds are beautiful and staff very friendly. I loved the beach! It was beautiful. Only downside was mosquitoes in morning and evening. Cayo Coco is a nature preserve though so this makes sense. Bug spray helps.

Sol Cayo Coco: Amazing beach

Grounds are kept very well. Rooms needs renovations.Service in the lobby area needs improving. Not enough wait staff. In terms of food not a lot of variety. Entertainment was good. The amazing beach makes up for the resort!!!

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: How many stars?

I will start with the good... sun, beaches, friendly staff and great entertainment. The bad... 1. Our fridge died for 4 out of the 9 days. 2. The shower would build up about 3” of water while in there and took over an hour to drain. 3. We upgraded and paid extra for a superior room and the others in our party (over 17 altogether) did not, they had same or better rooms and location, what we received for our upgrade was an iron in the room and a bottle or rum. 4. Will not return nor recommend this resort.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great resort

I’ve been going to the iberostar daiquiri for many yrs and just got back again, and they have yet again made my stay great ! Staff weather, resort all amazing ! I would recommend this resort to anyone ! I’ve made many friends there ! I’ll be going again next year!

Hotel Playa Coco: Pleasant vacation resort

The grounds at Hotel Playa Coco were very well maintained even following a few heavy downpours. Our room was huge and modern with a large bathroom and a glass enclosed walk in shower (great water pressure). The resort is not huge but a very comfortable size and offers the option of a "quiet pool area". The beaches were outstanding and there were always lots of chairs at both the beach and the pools. Staff was friendly but at times seemed to cater to the locals. The food was good for a Cub [... read more]an resort. The a la carte restaurants were quite good. Would consider coming back.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Okay resort

After staying in several resorts in Cuba- Holguin, Varadero, Cayo Santa Maria, this one was just okay. We have payed less and gotten more value at other resorts. No A/C in main buffet, ran out of several items in buffet and bar.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great Resort

We just returned from two weeks at the Iberostar Daiquiri Resort. We had stayed for one week last year and the improvements from then to this year were very noticeable. The beds in the room were very comfortable, not hard and difficult to sleep on. The pool chairs were all replaced and were great to sit on and just relax and tan. There was never a meal that we found we didn’t find something we liked and the chef was more than willing to cook the food the way we wanted. Really try the chicken s [... read more]tir fry and the different varieties for fried fish. Oh and you have to try the pizza. Overall this is a great resort for families and couples with plenty of entertainment to keep you occupied during your stay. 1. Hotel rooms were good and kept clean 2. Beach was excellent with plenty of chairs and huts 3. Staff were very friendly and helpful 4. No problem to find a bar to get your rum fix 5. Food was good, not great but always something to find to eat On the negative side they ran out of hamburgers and hot dogs part way through the first week and never had any more while we were there. There was never any bacon. They ran out of mixes for drinks on several occasions and ran out of draught beer for two days.

It was good to get back to the resort although our flight was 3 hours late. Arrival time about 1:00 at night.It was very quiet with only a couple of people milling around. Being a return guest we did a room request which we did not receive. It was very clean but the bathroom needs an update. Daily maid service was great. She always did a great job. Can not remember her name but she was very, very nice. Did not get our rum for being return and not given an invitation for returning guest get toge [... read more]ther. After 4 days I did mention it to the front desk and it was rectified. A little to late. The hotel was as good as we remembered. Grounds were kept great and the greenery is coming back to life. Staff does remember you and hugs and double kiss was given. Food as always was amazing. 9 out of 10. If you want a place to relax Melia is the place to go to. The ocean was calm, blue and warm.Like a bath. Pool was great. Still needs work. A new manager Barnard- always around and keeping a close eye on things. Got rid of the dogs and trying to get rid of the cats. One poor little thing (tame as anything) up in the pool area keeps getting attacked by the cats from the beach. That is a sad thing to see. Entertainment is fantastic. It is a new dance troupe and you can tell they enjoy there work. All in all good holiday 8out of10.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Small, cozy, and relaxing

The food was great (for Cuba!). The staff were friendly. The beach was beautiful. The size of the resort was perfect if you like small and intimate. My only complain is the mosquitos are bad in this area.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Food was great!

Really clean and friendly staff. Will definitely stay here again. Natural environment is present inside the resort. Bed and everything in room were comfortable. Food, You will definitely miss it after your trip. Great service, very friendly, ambience too good.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Absolutely Amazing!

Where do I begin!?! My husband and I went down to this resort for a quiet romantic get-away. We booked the "Just the two of us" symbolic wedding ceremony and renewed our wedding vows while we were there. From the time we arrived until the time we left we were made to feel so special. A huge thank you to Ariadna and Susel from Public Relations at the resort! They took our vision and made it so much more! I can't express how happy we are with how everything turned out. We used a photographer arranged by the resort for our renewal and were very happy with the pictures. We will cherish them forever. The staff at this resort are amazing. I had a sunburn on our first day there and Alfredo the gardener went out of his way to cut fresh aloe for me. His kind heart and friendly daily greetings will be forever remembered. He and all of the gardeners and cleaning staff work so hard to keep this resort looking so amazing. I didn't catch the lady's name that cleaned our room, but we were in room 2116, and it was always kept so clean. I loved coming back to the room and finding the different animals she folded out of our towels. The elephant was my favourite. The entertainment crew were high energy and made sure there was something for everyone to do. Their sense of humour and spirit was refreshing from some of the other resorts that we have been to not only in Cuba but other countries as well. We are also going to miss Yasser from the lobby bar! I absolutely loved his friendly personality and delicious coffees. We always had hot water. We could always find something to eat. We tried all 3 a la cartes and enjoyed each of them. From their ambience and lovely wait staff, to the well presented food placed in front of us. Huge shout out to Eduardo at the Cuban restaurant. You sir are a funny man. You brought lots of laughs to our table when we ate there. Then the beach! Oh my goodness! If you are looking for a calm, shallow, clear ocean to wade and float in - this is your beach. The white sand and turquoise water was beautiful. We could always find a nice shady spot to sit. A little tip - if you walk past the diamond club, there is a stretch of beach with a lot of chairs and palapas. I feel that not many guests knew this and didn't venture out that way. We met so many wonderful people also visiting this resort and made lasting friendships. We are already talking about a reunion trip back to this resort. Thank you Memories Caribe. Muthu Colonial Hotel: Wonderful experience with Colonial!

The hotel has very unique architecture and beautiful landscaping, not overcrowded, plenty of space, just enough activities, beach is like on those post cards: pristine water and white sand. Food is good, there were enough choices of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. There was nothing that we didn’t like. We enjoyed every moment of our stay! Will definitely recommend Colonial, and we will go there again!

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: So-so

This was my 8th time to Cuba (third to Cayo Coco) and first to Muthu Guillermo. We went for a week in April ‘19, and stayed in a ground floor room. The Good: location was great. Beach was decent. Pools were clean, and so was the establishment over all. The staff at the swim up bar (Oscar, Higteandro, and Dany) were awesome. The Bad: a solid 60% of the staff wouldn’t give you the time of day. Something I’ve never experienced in Cuba! The food in the buffet was mediocre at best (same [... read more] stuff every night) and the restaurants had little variety (and extremely salty meals). The snack bar was marginally better. The maid was nice, but did a 10min job every day in our room (made the bed with the same sheets every day!!). There were NEVER fresh beach towels (we would go to exchange them at 9:30am and they were already gone). Ran out of toilet paper in our room frequently. The coffee maker in the room had no filter/supplies to actually MAKE a coffee. The ants were banging on the back door every day, but luckily we brought Raid. All of the beds and chairs around the pool had been taken/held with personal belongings first thing in the morning. The ran a tractor around 2X a day with pesticides to kill the mosquitos...which would wake you up from sleep at 8am, or catch you as you were out walking the paths at dusk, with the mist of chemicals. The gardeners ran their whipper snippers at 830am EVERY DAY. Needless to stay, you’d never sleep in. Overall, I was disappointed with the staff above all. I could tolerate the rest. But in the end, it left a sour taste in my mouth, and I would never go back.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Nice resort poor service

Grounds and buildings are beautiful, the room was great with an ocean view and king size bed. The beach was nice and long and you could walk for ever. The 3 pools were nice and the service at the swim up bar was awesome. The biggest issues were the lack of service at the lobby bar and the poor design of the buffet.

Hotel Camino del Mar: Older smaller resort

We have had several stays here. It is a quiet. older resort, which has areas under renovation and/or repair. There is a small entertainment crew and occasional outside groups to entertain in the early evenings. There is beautiful beach which is good for swimming and snorkeling. Fishing off the dock is also fun. The food is of good quality and variety.
