Melia Las Antillas: Absolutely AWESOME Resort and Great Trip

Barcelo Solymar: Good resort

Nice and clean hotel food ok sometime no bread or eggs but over all there was always something to eat 5 elevator but sometimes all broken Staff were excellent good services hard and devoted worker Jorgue server on the beach 5 star he would run to serve you deerve an award

Club Kawama: Very run down, state of disrepair

People were great but the hotel is in very bad shape. Every thing is broken and patched together. The surface of things would be clean, as an example the table top would be clean but there was an inch of dirt on the legs. Sheets are clean but mold on the walls. If you found a toilet with a locking door, a toilet seat, and toilet paper you struck gold. Great people, great beach, and incredible sun rises and sun sets.

Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Good value

This was definitely not a 5 star resort but we def had a 5 star experience! Beach is absolutely stunning, much work needed to clean up a lot of the rubbish washed up from storms just beyond the resort. There were toilet paper and bottled water shortages but we didn't let that get to us, many guests were very upset about this. We went with our 8 month old baby and the staff provided us with crib and high chair in our room (no cost). They also made sure to set aside water for our baby. My husba [... read more]nd and I drank the treated water on the resort with no issues. Food was really tasty, always fresh fish for the grill, steak or pork freshly grilled as well, rice, pancakes and eggs for breakfast, lovely breads, desserts, salad bar, cheeses, guava, papaya, bananas and more (a baby's feast)! The hospitality of this resort was impeccable! Guest services were amazing, wait staff, maids also incredible! Rooms are really nice with sexy showers and our room overlooked the stunning crystal blue ocean. 3 pools were very nice also, a couple nights the music did get to us very late (finishing around midnight, pack your earplugs), as a tired Mom and Dad that was a bit frustrating but again that is also expected on a resort vacation. We would have gladly been down there too enjoying the night if we were baby-free. Overall we loved Cayo Cruz and the remote experience of this resort, it was exactly what we needed for some much needed rest and relaxation, highly recommend for families, we met so many friendly Canadians and Cubans!

Sol Palmeras: Awesome vacation!

Sol Palmeras was a great experience. A wide variety of food and plenty of it. Bottled water was plentiful and alcohol too. Staying in a bungalow was even better. The beach was great with plenty to do or hop on a bus and visit Varadero. The staff were just great - friendly, courteous, helpful!

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Royalton

In bad need of upgrade.diamond club a complete rip off. BUTLERS do nothing for you. Food terrible. Staff not as friendly as I have experienced elsewhere in Cuba. Access to restaurants not easy and the same awful food everywhere

Rooms are clean and comfortable the grounds are well kept food is good the staff are great friendly ,helpful they really make you feel at home we love this resort its not too big everything is in reasonable distance we have been there many tes and always look forward to going back ?

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful Grounds, Incredible Beach

The hotel is very well managed. Important to note, this is a 5* for CUBA. There are definitely shortages of food/drinks, toilets break down regularly, all toilet paper must be placed in waste baskets, room smells like sewage. Rooms are very large and comfortable, though tired. These are nobody's fault; this is just realistic for Cuba. The staff are incredibly hardworking and friendly. Having said that - there are MANY repeat travelers which reflects well on the resort but can feel a bit cult [... read more]like and if you're a first time guest you tend to feel a little 'less than'. Not a big deal. One evening, the table beside ours sent their food back because it came out 'cold'. Not something we would ever do. The general manager Alejandro and the chef came out and spoke to us, asking how the food was and advising if I didn't like anything to def. just send it back. The chef was shooting daggers - this was at Eggscellent. I didn't understand, yet, that he misunderstood and thought we were the couple that sent the food back. Again in the evening he approached and asked if everything turned out being okay and it was okay to send the food back. I explained it wasn't us who'd sent it back but he wasn't listening and just carried on walking. That morning, at 5 am, we received a room service order that we hadn't ordered, so - loud knocking at 5 am. I didn't think at first that this was related - and I hope not. You will not find a more beautiful beach at his cost so if that is your priority and you don't mind overlooking some shortages, okay food and tired but clean and spacious rooms, this is it. While it is a beautiful resort, I wouldn't return. Would give beach/pools 5* but lower pool is cloudy and not clean as the top pool is. The beach is a 10 out of 5.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: fun, comfort and pleasant

Everything was acceptable. Suite was clean and comfortable, no complaints. Yoga palapa needs work maybe replaced. Yoga is a very popular actively and yogis like to continue their practice on vacation. A better yoga palapa would be beneficial.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Great resort on amazing beach

The beach is perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Bring water shoes as there are rocky areas. Pools are nice but were a little chilly. I recommend the Club for the extra pool area and restaurant. Rooms are clean with a comfy bed and good shower. Staff are friendly and helpful. The food is good with some food shortages as in all of Cuba now, but not as bad as expected. The filtered water throughout the resort has a very bad taste, but they do their best to provide you with bottled water. I woul [... read more]d recommend this resort if they fixed the filtered water situation, since I couldn't drink it.

Grand Memories Holguin: Great place

Beautiful hotel , great workers , good beach , but a bit too windy there, I guess it’s season . Food was good, always something to find. At the bar was no vodka and often run out of rum, but had beer, vine and good brand name whisky

Melia Cayo Coco: Lovely cosey resort

Melia Cayo Coco is just the right size for a relaxed, adult vacation. Seniors in majority. Beach excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. Clean rooms and grounds. Entertainment professional. Food plentiful and basic.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Amazing Resort

We had an amazing time! The rooms were modern and comfortable. The staff was pleasant and friendly. The beach was amazing everyday. The food of course is more on the bland side but there was much variety in the buffet area. The traveller's were also very friendly. The entertainment was beautiful and interactive. I look forward to my return.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Good for the price

The beach is gorgeous, the sand is white and not hot, the activities on the beach and by the pool are great. The staff are amazing and friendly. The maids keep the rooms clean and the water boy comes and adds more water to the mini fridge daily. The entertainment was great. The items that had shortages were toilet paper, in the rooms and in public bathrooms. The public bathrooms were dirty, and the men’s washroom in the lobby was closed so the women’s was shared. The buffet was Cuba  [... read more]food, lots of chicken, pork, rice and wieners. There was powder eggs and shortage of bread at some points. I knew going in that the food wasn’t the greatest so I brought spices and peanut butter, jam, syrup, and spices. We did have to move rooms when we first arrived at the room was not clean, and the toilet seat was round but the toilet was square. Just remember in Cuba the toilet paper does not go down the toilet it goes into the trash can.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Nightmare Flamenco

Despite best efforts from the hardworking staff, the resources do not exist to make this a realistic destination UNLESS, you’re okay with black mould on the walls and mattresses, filthy towels that are replaced only after several requests, intermittent availability of “all inclusive “ beverages (eg., coffee, beer) with a diamond club upgrade. The sand, sun and surf are definitely 4 star.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Awful

The hotel was ok to look at. A bit run down in room. Food was awful. Staff were racist to black people. Felt like I wasted my money. Never going back. The check-in was really bad. They didnt give us the wifi info. AC stopped working 2 days in. No white towels. Had to ask for clean towels and water 5 days in

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Trio Feb 29 to March 7th

Cuba getting worst resort wasn't bad what made it worst was the shortages of beer and drinks they only had rum food was same everyday shortage of eggs and same for toilet paper yet cleaning ladys in lobby holding out wait on tips for toilet paper disgusting i told Director of resort I'd rather use sleve of shirt to wipe ass rather then tip bad all around not same cuba.

Grand Aston Varadero Beach Resort: Poor service

The resort itself was nice. Grounds And rooms nice as well. We did however experience poor service… The bathroom sinks & counter tops never cleaned. Our request for toilet paper was ignored. Finally had to find it myself. Short toilet paper 2 days. & our beds not made /cleaning missed one day… completely ignored. They tell you they are going to send someone but no one shows up. Shortages of beverages No eggs or potatoes which I could live with but a short of napkins at buffet ridic [... read more]ulous. Also spotted dirty plates in the clean pile…disgusting! Entertainment was poor most nights. Lots of dancing with audience. We also experienced sleepless nights. Too much noice outside as we were facing front of hotel. And the fumes from the buses & cabs were creeping into our room. I usually look forward to the Cuban coffee but this time it was horrible. This is my 8th time to Cuba & I don’t except perfection & except some food shortages but this time was different. Too many strikes! The food was the same everyday. No beach towels for 4 days. Short buffet staff. Tables dirty & some plates dirty in clean pile. I will definitely not be back to this resort.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Amazing resort

Staff were awesome. Been to this resort so many times & its my 2nd home. Was here in Oct, Nov & just got back again (feb). Everyone goes out of their way to help make your stay welcoming. From the front desk people right to the cleaning staff, gardeners wait staff etc. I'd highly recommend this resort to everyone. You won't be disappointed. Club Amigo Marea Del Portillo: Amazing scenery

If you are looking for the best scenery in Cuba, this your spot overlooking the Sierra mountains on one side and the Caribbean ocean on the other. If you are looking for food, go on a Cruse. The dark sand takes a while to get used to as it always looks like your feet are dirty.
