Iberostar Waves Dominicana: Amazing Resort

1 - Great choice of restaurants 2 - 3 pools (deep one, walkable one and a kiddie pool 3 - Nice clean beach The location is perfect if you like long walks along the beach. The only thing I didn't like is you couldn't put the room access cards anywhere near your cell phone or it would get demagnetized. Free WiFi is available throughout the resort.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: No complaints at all

Rooms clean and functional Staff ultra friendly. UBER friendly!! Mediteranian alacart was really good food in general everywhere was good suprisingly for the price we paid for our 10 day all inclusive Beach was in good shape. Drinks were above average aswell Activities could be pushed harder and a bit better. Mini put or more outdoor games would help. Botchy ball, mini put, maybe mini basketball net in pool would add some fun.

Catalonia Royal La Romana: Great vacation!

My husband and I just returned from a week at Catalonia Royal La Romana and wouldn't hesitate to return. We've been to the DR many times, typically staying at Excellence El Carmen but wanted to try the Caribbean side. We wanted great beach, good food and quiet relaxation and this resort delivered on all of the above. The beach was your typical calm, Caribbean blue water. The beach service was quick and the guys were very friendly. There are a lot of palapas and loungers but people do get up [... read more] early to reserve spots and although we are usually at the beach about 9am we could only gets spots near the back. We didn't encounter any beach vendors the entire week. We enjoyed all the adult side restaurants, didn't have a bad meal from any of those while there but can't say the same for the family side. The service and quality of food are not comparable. After trying the lunch buffet and Toscana we stuck to adult only restaurants. Our housekeeper Rosa did an impeccable job and our room was done by noon every day. Staff are friendly and you'd often hear them singing or humming while they worked. Grounds are well taken care of and your typical tropical landscaping. We wouldn't hesitate to return and have already recommended this return to family and friends.

Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: We love the Majestic

This was our 4th visit to the Majestic Resort; we have stayed twice at the Elegance, once at the Colonial and once at the Mirage. They are all great. Our most recent visit was to the Elegance and the facility, staff and rooms are great. Food is good and it's fairly close to the airport so no long bus ride to and from the resort. The ocean is pretty wavy but the beaches are well kept. This will continue to be our go to resort in the Caribbean!

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Beautiful resort

Wife and I visited last week of Feb .first week of March 2024.We found the resort to be very nice, well maintained, people very friendly.. The first person we had contact with was the concierge (Carolina).Carolina could not do enough for us. Carolina was extremely helpful friendly and spoke very good English. Thank you Carolina.. There were a few problems however.. There was some confusion as to whether we could or could not go to the family side. We were told we could but, could not g [... read more]o to the restaurant or bar however if we were at the pool we could. We were premium not Level. My brother and his wife who joined us was told they could not go to the family side. This point should be communicated much better than it is, in fact it is even confusing on the web site. Main lobby was very beautiful however the furniture is not conducive to any person who has a back, leg problem as it is to low to the ground and to wide. The bar stools too high and backs to low very uncomfortable. I had to sit on retaining wall because of the furniture.. We thought the nightly entertainment was very enjoyable. Food ,itis buffet so different for everyone. We had no problem in that area except for the fact we had to almost beg to get a glass of ice water, coffee .or spoon. Getting wine was no problem at all... Housekeeping at least for us did an excellent job. Overall we had a great time, not sure we would go back but only because of the furniture in the lobby area We would recommend the resort but would tell people about the experiences we had.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Wonderful vacation

We had a great vacation at this resort. The resort offered something for everyone. We loved the restaurants as Ambar and Esmeralda. Beach was beautiful and lots of chairs available for everyone. Loved the bars especially Limbo bar. Thank you to all the staff that provided such great service especially the bar tenders at Limbo. Looking forward to our next vacation at this resort. Dreams Cap Cana Resort and Spa: Great resort.

Would recommend and go back tomorrow! Clean & fresh room. Lots of staff maintaining the property. Loved the food, it was great and consistent (and safe food handling, none of our group of 8 got sick at all). very easy to communicate with staff. Water shoes recommended for the beach area. Occasionally activities that were scheduled seemed not to happen (but didn’t bother us at all). VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great staff

Staff are all very happy. Great resort snd food was very good. I would suggest changing your a la crate booking system. Have people book online before they arrive to the resort. Automation as opposed to having people stand in line would be more progressive and convenient. Rooms need some updating particularly in Building 3 but rooms were clean and spacious. Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Amazing Vacation

We were a little worried after looking at the negative reviews but we are so glad we went - not one complaint. Room 5128 (not sunsclub) is perfection. Right on the beach with a slightly raised deck that you can walk off to the beach. Just what we were looking for. If you are on the fence - GO! But remember, you are in a 3rd world country - don't expect the Ritz. The resort has a small footprint so, even though it has a lot of rooms, everything feels close.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Great vacation at Royalton Bavaro

This is our second time at this resort in as many years and again, we we're not dissapointed. From the the rooms to the restaurants/food and staff, all were enjoyable. Will likely go back next year!

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Worst trip Ever

Do Not Stay Here ! This was hands down the worst Resort I've ever been to ! The customer service was horrible!! The rooms were disgusting ! Line ups for everything. We were lied too over and over again. Never ever have I been treated so bad. Our friends room was leaking from their ceiling. Nobody would help us. We paid for excursions that we were lied to about. We waited 3.5 hours to check in and the manager refused to get us water !! They just don't care at all !

Catalonia Royal La Romana: Wonderful resort

The room was amazing! We had a junior swim up suite which connected right to the main pool and bar it was awesome! The food at the restaurants was fantastic for an all inclusive. Definitely the best we have experienced. The buffet food was pretty average. Staff were very friendly and worked hard. The beach was spectacular, clear turquoise waters and white sand.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Relaxing trip

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Grounds were clean. Food was pretty good.The Club area has so much more to offer with 2 pools, a restaurant and 2 bars and lounges. The private club beach area has many more shaded umbrellas and 2 tables for massages.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Gorgeous resort! Best food!

I have zero complaints about this resort! The food was absolutely phenomenal The grounds, room, pool and beach were so beautiful and clean. It didn’t feel like a crowded resort. Will definitely go back!

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: It was a very nice resort

Overall the resort was clean and well maintained The ocean front is beautiful but the water is murky You have to use the pools.Insect spraying happens daily. (Not nice) They should do this at night.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Bad management

There are signs all around the pool not to reserve the chairs every one dose it in fact they put clothing at night witch i found out late in our stay and no one does anything about it. Why have the signs out there.there aren’t enough chairs out there, theirs holes around the pool for umbrella but no umbrellas.the same with the beach area now for reservations for restaurants it’s a joke my wife went there at 8:30 to book the steak house she was told 9:30 was the only time left they had,after bre [... read more]akfast I went to cancel it was to late to eat there was a couple asking for reservations at the steak house and they were given a choice between 6:00 or 7:30 and that was at 10:30 so i complain and was given 6:00. Entertainment was good the grounds were nice and most employees were great but would not recommend or go there.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: MIXED FEELINGS

Just returned from our week at the Gran Ventana. The PRO's: property is beautiful and well maintained. Food in buffet is good, nice variety. Lunch at the Ocean Grill is a must - chicken wings are delicious! Rooms are dated, but clean and comfortable. Octopus al la carte is great. Was not able to book a second al la carte as resort was at capacity and very busy. The CON's: customer service at front desk - staff are miserable! We had requested ground floor room but were given a room on the third  [... read more]floor! After 2 visits to the front desk to request a room change, we gave up. They clearly couldn't have cared less. No smiles, nothing. We left feeling we were bothering them. Dress code for buffet: there is a sign posted at the entrance (no bathing suits, shoes required). My husband was turned away on day one as he was wearing a tank top. Yet during the week we saw several guests allowed in wearing bathing suits. Which is it? Vendors on beach are relentless - they don't give up! Several are all offering the same service. One lady approached me, started rubbing my shoulder, and told me I needed a massage. They get right in your face. Not enjoyable. Finally, the lobby is underwhelming. There is nowhere to sit. While we had a great time with our friends, not sure I would return to this property.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Good resort

The resort overall was nice. It was very big, so that gave you many options for dinner. The draw back is beach was a little far but they did offer transportation back and forth. The cleanliness of the room and grounds was great. A few issues were that the loungers at the pool and beach were not very comfortable and were too low. Also the mattress was uncomfortable. The room itself was very nice and spacious.As for the food, the buffets were decent. The Italian restaurants need an upgrade in qual [... read more]ity. The Brazilian steak house was there best restaurant , followed by Peruvian and Japanese.I would recommend this resort for someone who is looking for a big place with lots of options.

Catalonia Royal Bavaro: Amazing resort

This was a very nice hotel. It was all adults so some may find that boring, but it really wasn’t. There was daily pool exercising and entertainment after dinner and usually an evening show as well. The food was excellent—the drinks were delicious and the service was impeccable. Being able to use the sister resort next door is also a nice touch as that’s where all the good a la cartes are. Lots of chairs available at the beach. My only complaint is their wifi … it sucks unless you are in the lobby or by the pool.
