Grand Decameron Panama: Fantastic - Highly recommend!

Everything about this resort was fantastic! Delicious food, lovely beaches, clean pools, room and resort cleanliness! The team was very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend and would return!!!

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Waste of money

This resort had the absolute worst staff. My kids had a goal of seeing if they could get the staff to smile and they didn’t succeed. Many things went missing out of our room when we were not in it. The food was ok.

Grand Decameron Panama: Beautiful and Peaceful!!

Our stay was on the All inclusive Plus section (April 6th to 17th 2023) which I recommend if you are looking for a quieter/not so busy section. Food was fantastic (my scale would attest to that lol) Lots of beach to walk which was amazing...loose sand not touched by high tide gets extremely hot...have your flip-flops handy. I have no complaints about this resort but I am also not the picky/princess type...I accept that I am visiting a foreign country and that things will be different therefore  [... read more]we learn to adapt. All the staff we interacted with were polite, courteous and respectful. It is a big resort and yes there are lots of stairs...again we adapt. We are there to relax, not run a marathon. A few things to know: there are no coffee machines in the rooms but coffee was available at the lobby by 5:30-6am or in restaurants/buffet by 7am. Facecloths are not supplied...only bath and hand towels in the room. If you are on the Plus side, beer will be given to you in the can (bring a beer cozy or drink it fast) if not it's in a paper cup unless you have your own mug and the paper cup applies to the whole resort for cocktails. If you are travelling with Air Transat as we did, I do recommend you go to the welcome meeting a day or two after your arrival as there is good information given. Not once did I see a rep from Sunwing during my 12 days there so not sure if they hold the same type of information session. Last but not least, you will not be bothered to take a tour where they try to sell a timeshare.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Very cozy and ethnic feel resort.

Great stuff, bartenders and servers very friendly and happy. Rooms clean everyday. Very happt with service. Except I was disappointed that there was no communication between airport ride and the front desk so I missed my ride to airport. Other then that very happy with my experience.

Grand Decameron Montego Beach: Resort Review! Royal Decameron Montego Bay.

We spent March 31-April 9th at this resort, and we got a great price as we booked this back in July 2022 and it was well worth it! Pluses are the Beach, they have a Great Beach area, the sand is soft and lots of different access point to get on the Beach, we really didn't have to search for empty chairs there was always one available, but ppl are putting their towels on them and reserving them for the Day. There is also the Pool area which consists of one large pool and another smaller one, with [... read more] a Pool Bar right there which is cool. The food was Great, lots of Variety to choose from, and we were happy with the Food for sure. The staff is courteous and work well together for the most part, I think since it is getting busier that they may need more staff, as sometimes there is a bit of a wait for service but its okay! The Bar staff is fun too. Front desk staff was great, and there is a sister resort (Cornwall Beach) that You have access too (the beach, bars and restaurants), and they are newer building so a bit nicer overall but we went for dinner there one night and had to wait inline for abit and the food was not as good IMO, but it is cool to have access to another place for one price! Minuses are the room we stayed in was quite a distance away from everything, we were right by the public beach which had street vendors on daily/nightly and at times they played their music quite loudly at night, but it was cool to see the local action in play. The Entertainment on our side was fantastic, they had live music, circus acts, magicians, it was very Entertaining and was a packed house, they put in allot of effort here to to make it a good time had by all! There were tour operators at the Newer Resort to help you with that stuff. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great deal and fun times!!

Grand Decameron Montego Beach: Great time

Been here 3 times, so no new surprises. Was nice to use the sister resort next door. Only issues were a rude bartender, my friend reported him to the resort manager but it didn't make any difference. And other bartenders waiting on sweet young things and making us older people wait ages for drinks. Some of the wait staff in the buffet dining room could smile once in awhile but otherwise a great time

Well maintained buildings, grounds and pools. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was mainly buffet and ok. Short walk to restaurants and markets. A shuttle service to Puerto Vallarta would have been a nice touch but the taxis work well.

We enjoyed an ocean view room from our rather basic hotel room The grounds are pretty and the many pools are clean and well kept. The rather thin wifi in our area didn’t allow us to log on with everyone else to obtain reservations for the restaurants of our choice each am. The main buffets.. we chose the flamingos as it was near our bld#2 seemed quiet.. the food was just OK.. The long walkable beach is likely the real draw.. Bucerias a 10-12 minute walk on the beach.. A quick getaway for a reasonable price to miss winter PS if you like wine bring your own!

Decameron Baru Beach Resort and Spa: Very nice resort but too remote

The hotel is very nice on all aspects: ground, beach, room, staff, restaurants. However it is too remote, there is nothing outside of the resort. The closest city of Cartagena is 1h30 taxi when traffic is smooth, could take 2h. Taxi fares are expensive. Rooms are spacious, there is no internet from the rooms, only at lobby. It is somewhat inconvenient but not a show stopper.

Decameron La Marina: Resort

The hotel was nice and clean. The staff were very pleasant, but most of them only spoke Spanish unless you went to the front desk and a few bartenders. Most of their clients were Mexican who were great people very pleasant and respectful. But did not speak English.. the entertainment sucked as everything was in Spanish and I didn’t understand and unfortunately my room was above the karaoke bar, which ran till around 1 AM and was so loud and everything was in Spanish so I did not take part in t [... read more]he activity and kept me awake sometimes and had to turn the TV up loud to drown this singing most of all I was very disappointed as my Sunwing representative at the airport said since the bus could not go to the hotel that they would stop on a street but bellhops would be there to help us take our suitcases to the hotel. This never happened and we were six people over the age of 60 and 70 stuck in the middle of a street trying to figure out where our hotel was. We were very afraid and anxiety was high as we didn’t know where to go after over a half hour we found somebody that understood some English, and told us where to go from the bus dropping us off to the hotel was a good three blocks Two of us had a disability and mobility issues, and had to pull her suitcases one with a cane and the other with a walker as we arrived upon the hotel, nobody even helped us, go up that ramp and the stairs to get into the hotel lobby

Decameron La Marina: Decameron la marina

The resort was very clean people constantly working to keep it clean. We were unaware that it was quite a distance from Puerto Vallarta which was another change in time. The rooms were well kept and very clean Unfortunately communication was very difficult as we found resort was geared to the Mexican community where it was 99.9% Spanish language we had difficulty finding a person who could speak English. When we arrived at the resort we had no one to guide us as to where to go we felt we w [... read more]ere left out in the street to find our way around no bellboy to help with luggage considering we had a person using a walker and one with a cane the roads were difficult to walk on so it was somewhat discouraging to deal with this. The food was ok but no bacon or sausage at anytime. The steak house meal was delicious. We were unaware that the shows were at the other resort which we were never told. In our resort every night it was keroke very loud and totally Spanish. For myself I would not return as it was so far from Puerto Vallarta

This was my second time in 8 years to this resort. It was clean, updated, the staff were friendly and helpful when needed. the wifi - sucked!!!! I was disappointed in the A la carte restaurants. there were 5 and often not even one was open or available. you have to be online or in line personally to book a dinner reservation @ 8:00 am in the morning. it was the luck of the draw after that! Grand Decameron Panama: Great resort

All areas were well kept. Clean. Food very good. Always a variety available. Rooms very comfortable and clean. We had upgraded our package, that way we had a fridge in our room which was stocked daily. Only little issue is that employees speek minimal English so a good time to practice your Spanish.

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Still okay for trip 7

This was our 7th trip to this resort in the past 19 years and we stayed two weeks. Sunwing no longer has a rep there so you are on your own to get information. There have been a few changes even since our last trip there about 4 years ago. The beach club was sold and Decameron purchased two hotels a little further down the beach towards town. They also replaced the garden with a very large grass roof structure for bus reception and combined Cocos 2&5 bar and restaurant. Employees seem ne [... read more]w and not as happy as on previous trips. Wait staff in the dinning room were fairly good at snatching dirty plates but failed at coffee, tea and water refills. Room cleaners did their job well. Towel supply was a bit spotty as we were shorted towels a couple of times. Food quality at this hotel over the years has generally increased with every visit. It was disappointing to me to see that this time the quality has gone back to fewer choices and cheaper cuts of meat. We did okay with the usual rice and beans stuff but there wasn't much for variety this round. The tortilla soup, my favorite, was never on the buffet. The a-la-cart was okay but booking it was a nightmare. The booking system would NEVER let you book. We had to complain to the manager who "squeezed" us in to get there. Covid measures during our time there were almost not existent. Saw signs but they were ignored. Food prep wore masks as expected but very few others. Enjoyed the sunshine as the weather was perfect as usual.

Grand Muthu Runaway Bay Club Caribbean: Fantastic Vacation!!

We had read, from other sources, bad reviews but we were very happy with our stay. The staff were wonderful, rooms clean and well supplied. The cottages were perfect! The food was not gourmet but I wasn’t expecting that and we always had plenty to eat and drink. I would say that this resort is more for the 55+ crowd. It seemed as the entertainment crew had a bit of a hard time getting anyone to participate. I found the evening entertainment quite good especially the steel drum band.

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Most good

2 week vacation in March 2023. Was there in 2020 just before pandemic. Flew Sunwing. New Max8 737 but has no on-plane wifi or entertainment. Bring your own. Beach in front of Los Cocos almost non-existent now (NOT like in the picture) but the rest of the 2 mile long beach is still very nice. It was wonderful that you can use La Marina/ Isla Coral for food/ drink & beach chairs. This was our deciding factor on going here again. 1-1/2 to 2 hour bus ride to resort (yuck). Use [... read more] the airport bathroom and buy any refreshments from Oxxo in the airport parking lot before leaving. Check-in can be slow depending on how many others were on your bus. English rare at the front desk all the time, but the employees try. Building 4 has lots of steps, far from the beach and not all rooms have view of beach from balcony Busy roadway on backside, but overall quiet compared to many complaints heard from lower units and La Marina/ Isla Coral resorts. Large rooms. Outdated lock & key system and may want to bring a powerbar if you need extra plugins. Food & drink - Enough variety provided between the 3 resorts. La Bamba at building 4 not open for breakfast anymore (too bad). Not impressed with the a la cart's and only used once. Liquor lineups not bad and no complaints on brands or watering down. Beach & activities. Quiet enough weekdays with more sellers than beachgoers. Weekends very busy with 1,000's of locals. Entertaining, but very noisy, even at the resorts. Get your beach chair early. Everyone ignores new no-smoking law. Guayabitos/ La Peneda - Nice walk along one main street but like most areas, watch your step on uneven and holey sidewalks. Most garbage bins overflowing and could benefit with a pickup more than once a year. Large market in La Peneda on Thursdays with venders selling both old and new. Really enjoyed it but a long walk to get there. Monday market at Guayabitos is small with very few deals found. Always felt very safe. I had an issue with swelling bug bites and Kenia helped me find Benadryl at a local pharmacy. Nobody else I encountered had any bites. Very strange. Checkout & Airport. Checkout okay. Bus ride okay. Daytime this trip. Outside Puerto Vallarta is a dumping ground. Stock up on food & snacks even the night before departure. Airport pricing is stupid - 300 pesos for a burger. No water bottle filling and buying a bottle starts at 190 pesos. Overall value - This was best price found over all others for this time period and we knew the beach was very nice. Recommend only if budget is the deciding factor. Will I go there again? Doubt it.

Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach: Royal Decameron Cornwall Beach

Enjoyed our vacation to Jamaica and our stay at the Royal Decameron Cornwall Beach Resort. This is one of two properties in the Royal Decameron family. Both are next door to each other and share all amenities. The Cornwall Beach property being the newest one. Nice small hotel, close to airport and beach. Rooms are ocean view, have a small fridge, tv, balcony, safe, but no dresser to put clothes in. They do have a closet to hang clothes also an iron/board. Large pool and Beach Bar, use of kayaks [... read more] and paddle boards. One thing that we didn’t like was that if you wanted a lounge chair on the beach you need to get up early and place your towels there! Beach is beautiful and the water is clear! One buffet restaurant on property, lots of food choices, coffee bar and lobby bar. One alacarte restaurant that you need to book the day of and line up for by 9am. No Covid restriction. Some staff wear masks, but at their discretion. Yes, we would return.

Resort has not changed in 20 years. Rooms are dated but clean .Food is fine with a variety for everyone. Making restaurant reservations is not an easy process. Wifi is limited to nil. Pools and beaches are clean and friendly.

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: A good resort.

Clean good location. Food is average but ok. Restaurants outside resort much better. You can also go to the other Decameron hotels in Guayabitos. They are a good option when roaming around Guayabitos. They are all inclusive to you as well. La Penita is close by as well. Los Ayala is also near by. Nice weather and very enjoyable. Fresh fish every day if you want.

The hotel, grounds and pools were very clean and modern. Rooms were modern, adequate and spacious but the only place to put clothes was the closet— no chest of drawers. Staff were always polite and friendly, at times the dinning rooms were short of staff and service was slow. Communication was lacking as to what venue the buffets were being served in, it would have been nice to have a schedule or signage indicating location. Service at the pool was excellent
