Grand Oasis Sens: Beautiful destination!

The resort was as advertised so that meant few surprises if any that I would consider negative. We had an ongoing issue with the shower not working and had the maintenance crew attend to the issue on two separate occasion. In the end it was functional but never worked properly. The room was sold as a King size bedroom but in reality they simply put two separate double beds together and called it a king size bed. Doesn't really cut it if you're tall because not being a true king size bed yo [... read more]ur feet hang off the end of the bed. A couple of issues with regards to lights in the room. The track light inside, over the patio door flickered when turned on and felt like a cheap disco light, we left it off. The main concern was one of the outside wall mounted patio lights kept flickering and when I looked at it had been hot wired together and the copper wires were exposed, a definite safety issue. Other than that the room was awesome. Beautiful view and the large deck with private pool was very much a bonus! The restaurants were very interesting, much to our delight. I would caution folks to ask detailed questions prior to booking an evening at the Black Hole Restaurant. We found the methodology of how the seat you a bit awkward and thru us off the experience completely. On the other hand we cannot recommend highly enough to defiantly book an evening at the Benazuza Restaurant. This is a MUST if you are in any way a "foody". Loved it!! Over-all I (we) feel comfortable in highly recommending this resort. Further more we booked the SIAN KA´AN ROOM package and it was absolutely worth the extra!!! With regards to the "concerns mentioned earlier I will have to state that while this resort is a few years old, it is graceful and overall beautifully maintained. Go, enjoy and be your own critic. We would certainly consider a return visit.

Grand Oasis Cancun: great food, great staff and a fun resort

The Oasis is a great entertainment resort. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet and Joys trattoria very much. The menu at Joys includes steak and the best tasting chicken parm, the spaghetti was delicious. The snack bar area had tasty chicken, burgers, hot dogs, an ice cream machine and a taco stand. We did not visit the chinese restaurant as we heard it wasn't so great. One thing they sure have good recipes in Joys and the buffet, I hope they never change the recipes. The snack bar advertised tacos [... read more] but only had soft shell, hard corn shells would be nice. The meat, vegetables and deserts are amazing, breakfast was always excellent! The mexican restaurant could use a bit more mexican dishes like fijitas, and the dinner for two was skimpy, three prawns for two and a bunch of pork rinds, barley enough for one. The red circus was just plain weird. The costumes were cool but it made no sense, it was a long and drawn out show. A mexican or mayan themed show would be much better. The grounds and rooms are clean and very pretty. There is so much to do just in the resort. The entertainment was very entertaining, except the red circus. We are older people and enjoyed the beach club with the young aldults and the Coyote Loco club. At times the halls get very noisy with the bar hoppers getting in at 6am and it echos throughout. Maybe some weather stripping around the doors would help curb the noise. The reception on the television was lame with a constant hum, but who is there to watch tv? The beach is fantastic, soft clean sand with a huge beach area with lots of beach chairs, in fact there are many seating areas to choose all over the hotel area. The ocean waves and colours are beautiful. Some hotels we have been at in Cancun we could never get good beach or poolside seating, the Oasis had plenty. there was no garbage or sea debris on the beach or coming ashore. The staff was always happy, friendly and quick to serve, seldom did we wait long for anything. The line for the buffet was less than 5 minutes. The mexican restaurant was 10 minutes. Check in was a long wait with a rookie leaving us in limbo for about a half hour. Drinks were very tasty and innovative. We had issues with the towels but once we complained (twice) it was promptly taken care of. There's lots of single young people (30ish) but never out of control. Sure the hotel is doing upgrades but the construction was not loud or interfering. As far as construction we highly recommend some railings. The large beach stage has a step within itself. The whole stage is about 10 feet from the ground and there are no railings. The stairs leading to the beach have a rise in each step that is too large. The rise is too high for the injured or the disabled, and there are no railings. Grandpa is a carpenter and has recommendations. Access to the beach is limited if you are disabled or injured. A ramp with a gradual slope and railings would help everyone safe access to the beach. If you put two ramps at opposite ends of the beach access, making an "O" would look very nice, one ramp over the garden on the south? The open area between coffee n us, Coyote Loco, the buffet and Joys got extremely slippery when it rained and a lot of people fell and got injured. Most of the walkways are covered but that area is not. The little ones had a kids club, the little kids all seemed very happy. Everyone seemed very happy. We had a fantastic time at the Oasis and we would definitely go to this hotel again. I am sure the Oasis would love to have us back. Grandpa and Grandma they called us.The Oasis is great place, we made plenty of friends, we highly recommend this hotel.

My daughter and myself really enjoyed our stay the rooms could be updated but we were not in room much only to sleep maybe more comfortable pillows would be better also include free wifi and safe lock with the all inclusive package that would be alot better but the food was great but could be more variety between lunch & supper as it was same at buffet almost but overall nice resort lots of music and nice pool beautiful beach just be aware there is not much shaded areas if you need to get out of [... read more] sun if you burn easily or cake on the sunscreen haha if you have kids on your trip not worth upgrading to the black wristbands as they are mostly for going to more restaurants and bars which kids are not allowed in the upgraded ones anyhow so if you upgrade services only not worth the extra expense the rooms were average could of been worse so we are still happy thanks and the cleaning people and people who stock the mini fridge were very friendly as well as the front desk check in guy he was sooo friendly and very helpful so we had a great trip thank you😃

Oh Cancun The Urban Oasis: Okay Hotel, friendly staff

The hotel is clean and the rooms are very nice. However it is right on a busy street and it can get tricky to cross the road and/or have a lot of traffik noise at any time of day/night if you end up with a room facbing that busy highway. There was confusion with our booking ( got a regular room instead of the suites we paid for in the first couple nights). there isnt much to do on the property and it was mostly empty the week we were there (Jan13-19). Grand Oasis Cancun: Poor customer service

Horrible customer service. Check in took over an hour and a half and then they denied us our room. Tons of lines for food and drinks. Great atmosphere, but that’s due to the people there not the hotel.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Really bad service

I went there to party. And i had a blast. But the hotel. Worst service ever. They promise stuff and they dont do. My minibar in my room was never refilled. Had to call everyday. The hotel is leaking water in the rooms and around the hotel. They charged me late checkout when it was supposed to be included. They threathened to call the police if i dont pay it off. Would never go back there

Grand Oasis Cancun: Wouldn't go again

The bad: Check-in took wayyyy too long, and the front desk staff were largely unhelpful. No 24 hour bars, last ones close at 1am. The "health bar" was awful, they just mixed concentrates in gross jugs- no fresh fruit. No free wifi, and you have to pay for a lock for the safe. Had a leak in the ceiling in our room, but they did fix it fairly quickly. The good: The restaurants were great, as well as the coffee shops (included). Great beach. Grand Oasis Cancun: Okay vacation

This resort is directly centered around tips. We had stayed at Grand Oasis, and I can say that the service we received was just below par when the employees felt they deserved to be tipped more. Being that we've spent all of this money to enjoy an ALL INCLUSIVE resort, I would imagine service would be one of the things included. There were always lines, everywhere you wanted to eat, at every restaurant. At lunch/breakfast and dinner, 15 minute waits minimum. The nightlife in the hotel ended at 1am, which my group felt was too early, especially for a resort that was rated top for that. I stayed here 4 years ago and it is a much worse place 4 years later. I remember being amazed by the food, always greeted warmly by staff, etc. Too bad this place has changed for the worse.

Grand Oasis Riviera: Wonderful Mexico

We arrived to Grand Oasis Tulum on January 6th. The resort is beautiful. Check-in was HORRIBLE. Very disorganized front desk - people trying to check in and others complaining about their rooms. Once check-in was complete, the remainder of our vacation was wonderful. We were in the Adults Only section (Sian K'aan section) which was lovely including our own pool area, swim-up bar, lobby and a few restaurants. There are a variety of restaurants for lunch and dinner - no reservations required. The buffet restaurant is large with lots of choice.

Grand Oasis Palm: Decent Resort

We stayed at the Grand Oasis Palm Dec 22-29, 2017 with our 11 and 10 year olds. We did enjoy this resort, and there are no major issues, but there are no frills either. First off, the beach is beautiful as is typical of Cancun. There is a bit of seaweed, but even in the water they have trails made for you so you don't have to step on it. We brought our own snorkeling gear and saw a Sea Star (Starfish) one day. There were a few other fish (one that looked kind of like swordfish but were very [... read more] small) also. We saw pelicans every day. The staff put out hammocks in the morning along the water so you can lay on the hammock in the water. The safe is not included, and it is a lock with a key, not a passcode. When you are checking in, you will get a lock to put into the safe and a key. You pay at checkout. I don't remember how much it cost, but it wasn't much. Maybe $30USD? I am not sure. There are elevators, but they are small and slow. We often wouldn't be able to get in because it was full. We were on the 5th floor, which was 90 stairs, so I wouldn't have wanted to be much higher and use stairs. About 7-8 people max can fit in the elevator. We didn't spend any time at the pools at all as they were far too cold to swim in. I prefer the ocean anyway. The servers and bartenders were good. We tipped one server about $10/day and she was great. She kept our drinks full, although we don't drink a lot, but she kept drinks coming for the kids as well. Our room was not restocked with water daily, and we actually did tip the maid $5/day starting on the first day. We didn't figure out the pattern for getting water. There is a coffee bar near the lobby. It was great. There were many great hot/cold coffees. The kids liked the iced coffees. There is a sushi bar and snack bar by the beach. We ate there for lunch most days so we didn't have to go find the buffet. There is a snack bar by it which has hot dogs, fries, nachos, etc and a bar. The rooms are fine. The beds were not overly comfortable, but the rooms were clean. This resort is a sister to the resort beside it, the Oasis Palm. If you stay at the Grand, you can use the facilities of both. If you stay on the other side, you cannot. They put a water trampoline into the ocean every day. The kids enjoyed that. The resort is right beside the Captan Hook ship. We did that with the kids, and upgraded to VIP. Well worth it. The entertainment staff were amazing! Actually, all the staff were fantastic. Laura, our server on the beach, was so sweet. We walked along the beach most mornings. It was beautiful. The weather is consistently good in Cancun. The ocean is gorgeous and the sand is white. The resort was fine, but nothing spectacular. The food was fine everywhere. We were never hungry. It is a good value for the cost.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Noise Rooms, Party all the time - SpringBreak fraternity type of hotel

- Rooms: My room was not clean when I arrived. The bathroom floor was dirty and unclean. The room is pretty noise with drunk travelers screaming in the corridor all the time. The bed is awfully hard to sleep on. Cheap and uncomfortable pillows. One guest open the door of my room with their card and I was disturbed in the middle of the night. I couldn't feel safe in the hotel, specially since I was a woman traveling alone. - Food: All restaurants had a line and a waiting time of at least 20 min [... read more]utes. Drinks were cheap options and the food was not good quality. I've requested room service because I didn't want to go out and they forgot the guacamole that I've order. Service overall was ok, since you're seeing the staff work very hard given the conditions. - The resort is very big and has lot's of attractions, however I felt pretty uncomfortable having a pole dance and sort of strip dancer in the nightclub. - Type of hotel that you feel in a college fraternity. Frat boys and young models all over the place. Guests weren't very friendly overall. I thought that I would experience a bit more of Mexico, but it seems that I book a package to Miami.

Grand Oasis Riviera: Beautiful Resort/Room Issues

Resort was beautiful , loved the clean pools , food was awesome , buffet carried huge collection. Coming to room , we were not that lucky, first room we got was balcony as promised by my agent , but that room had a leaky washroom and they did not upgrade us instead shifted us to a smaller room. Whose shower broke very second day ,had choked Wash basin which never got fixed, then we had faulty AC which hardly got fixed . Grand Oasis Sens: It was our honeymoon and it was one of the best vacations we have had!

We stayed at Temptation from November 21st to the 28th for our honeymoon and we were not totally sure what to expect based on the online reviews. First few days we partied hard and made some new friends. The whole place is amazing and we loved the new décor. General We stayed on the fifth floor in Bash tower, our room was large with a huge king size bed, there was a walk in shower, the room was a very clean and modern. Food What can we say about the food, it was all excellent. Loved [... read more] the daily sushi bar at the buffet. As far as ala cart's go "She" and the Italian were our favorites. Staff The staff were amazing always willing to help make you feel welcome, Very friendly and always smiling. The third day we were there they decorated our room with rose pedals, chocolate strawberries, towel swans on the bed and a honeymoon banner on the door. Overally The place is truly amazing and we will definitely be returning, but there was one thing we'd like to see: Other than the honeymoon decorations there were no other days they did the towel are and my wife truly missed that.Foam party was so much fun, we loved every minute of our stay, the entertainment team made it that more special. We came prepared with costumes and took total advantage of the theme nights, this was my favorite part! They could possibly consider changing the theme night line up from time to time. This was one of our best holidays yet, we partied like rock stars and had so much fun, we miss all of our new friends already. Grand Oasis Riviera: Quiet and Lovely!

We picked this resort for its smaller size, its closeness to Chichen Itza, but mostly for its advertisement as “the quiet resort”. We weren’t disappointed. Food was great, employees friendly and the coffee bar a great addition.

Ocean right outside the doors. Long winding pool with many wetbars along the way. More restaurants and bars to choose from. Entertainment bar none. Also a casino on the premises!! Beautiful vrounds to walk along.

The Pyramid Cancun: Family Reunion at a Beautiful Resort

We were picked up promptly from the airport and taken directly to the hotel and it took approximately 20 minutes. We were greeted and checked in quickly and found our room easily. Our parents had arrived earlier that day and having to get up at 3am, they tried to take a nap in their room. Unfortunately, they could not as there was construction on the floor directly above them and there was hammering and drilling all day. We were happy to see each other and decided to go for dinner. The rest [... read more]aurants are all amazing and the food is served and prepared with excellence. I highly recommend paying extra for the Black VIP Bracelets. The black bracelets allow you to visit all the restaurants and the service cannot be beat. Almost every night there is a breathtaking circus show in the middle of the Pyramid. We stood outside our rooms and watched from the balcony. There is a wonderful jazz/folk club that we enjoyed every night after dinner. The beach was cleaned every day and the sand is white. Our stay was during the first week of December, and the ocean was a bit rough but if you held your ground, you could take a dip. This hotel has soft beach beds on the beach and along the many pools. The black bracelet allows access to these areas. The bathrooms by the beach were kept clean. The foliage is lovely and there are palm trees everywhere along with a fish pond and winding walking path. The only issue we personally had, was the locking door mechanism for our room had a battery fail at 11pm on the first night. The front desk could not help us and told us we had to wait until 8am for maintenance. We could not find anyone to help us and after a couple of hours I had no choice but to channel my inner Harley Quinn and finally three bus boys were sent up with tools and they were able to open our room at 2am. When we opened the door there was a very powerful glue smell in the room from the construction above. We could not sleep in our room, so they gave us a key for an empty room and we grabbed our toothbrushes and slept there. We ended up moving rooms because they didn't seem to have three AA batteries to fix the door. Other than that first unfortunate night, we had a lovely time and I cannot say enough how much we enjoyed the restaurants, pools, and beach.

The Pyramid Cancun: We were optimistic...but that was a mistake

Wow don’t know where to start and don’t want to waste your time. We were optimistic despite reviews we read but we should not have been. This is not a 5 star it is a 2. Been to Cancun many times and have never stayed at a worse place. In bad need of a renovation and service was terrible. Beware the number of bars and restaurants they list...most are not open and most are just buffet :(

Pros: Very friendly staff throughout the resort, for every restaurant we visited, food was excellent and had a good variety to choose from. The grounds, pools and beach were always kept very clean. Had good entertainment at night. Cons: Bathroom needs major overhaul, very disappointed with bath towels and washcloths as they left a lot to be desired as far as being clean. Hotel is not handicap friendly.
