Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Great resort!

The hotel was fantastic! The people and staff were very helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed it! The food was good and the a la carte's very unique. There is a great beach with lots of activities and plenty to see.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Clean resort

Very clean lobby, grounds and rooms. Delicious food at the restaurants! Pleasant helpful staff. Enjoyed the activities. Lots of chairs around the pool and on the beach but limited shade. There was a very unpleasant smell (like sewage) en route to access the beach.

Viva Dominicus Palace by Wyndham: Beat the Winter Blahs - Enjoy a little summer in your winter! Destination: Viva Wyndham Dominicus Palace -La Romana.

The resort is situated in Bayahibe, La Romana just 30 minutes buss drive from La Romana International Airport. The rooms are maintained daily by the cleaning crew.. Complimentary Wi-Fi connection is available all around the resort. The food selection for breakfast lunch and supper is good, with restaurant reservation available as well. We eat mostly at Rest. La Yuca (buffet) which had a good assortment to our liking. My “sweet tooth” was delighted with the selection of sweets available, especially the home-made ice cream. The grounds are well maintained, and all is green - immaculate! The staff at this resort are having a pleasant professional attitude, making sure that you are having a great time. The most important time of our vacation was the accessibility to the immaculate white-sand beach, the ocean views looking out over the brilliant waters of the Caribbean Sea, and then enjoying a swim. Life can not be better! Each evening at the lobby bar, has live music, and of couple of time we danced to it. There are also daily shows given by the artistic crew. We preferred evening walks from “Dominicus Place” to the shopping center a nice 15 minutes walk. You don’t get bored at this resort! There are lots of activities available, including water sports, fitness programs etc. We have enjoyed the morning exercises at the pool site conducted by a dynamic team. The selected music that accompanied the exercises was great. In addition, we appreciated all the selection of Dominican music that played daily at the pool site! The staff at the beach bar are all great. In addition to drinks, snacks and light lunch is also available. All in all, we had a great time. Thank you “Viva Wydham Dominicus Place” for an unforgettable 12 days of vacation. This is "Au Revoir, not Goodbye”. I loved that this place was intimate and welcoming. The people were always helpful and happy to be there! The entertainment crew were never disappointing. Always visiting and chatting it up. A very special thumbs up for the blonde girl from Germany. I hate that I forgot her name. Sorry She was great. Food Awesome. The Cigar bar we loved!! Thank you Gabrielle and Stephanie you Rock !!!! Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: Smoothly Operated and Well Maintained

Loved staying at the Viva Tangerine in November. All of the staff spoke excellent English and responded to any incidents immediately. The resort prides itself on maintenance and was tidying up the results of slight cosmetic damage from hurricane season. All walls and pathways, grounds, etc were immaculate. This resort is flat, very level. The only time you go down stairs is to the beach, or if you are on the second or third floor. The International buffet and snack area was very clean, it was spacious and top chef standard. The store and staff was great, the lobby staff were very helpful, all speak English and there is a $ exchange in the lobby as well. Exceeded expectations! 5 STARS!

Viva V Samana by Wyndham: Great Staff!

The grounds were beautiful and the staff were very nice! The activities personnel, especially Jordan, Dens, Chocolate and Joanne were a lot of fun and kept us entertained all week! Great job!!! One big negative: the resort didn’t have enough designated non-smoking areas. The few they did have were right beside smoking areas, so there was no way for us non smokers to escape the smoke! That was a big negative for us and we would not return for that reason alone.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Beautiful friendly resort!

Grounds are immaculate, rooms are spotless. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Nice small resort. Loved that you don't have to make reservations for the restaurants. The room safe is included and they even include room service but I didn't try it. Fabulous resort!

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Great Vacation!

I wasn’t sure what to expect before our vacation as Google was telling us our resort was only a 3 star, but we were told it was a 4.5 star resort, and some of the reviews weren’t the greatest. However, from the moment we landed at the airport in DR, until we left and landed in Toronto, everything was great. My boyfriend and I got engaged while we were away, and have nothing but positive things to share about our vacation. We had booked a king size bed, but were brought to our room with two d [... read more]ouble beds. I went to the front desk right away, and they changed it immediately for us. There was only one pool, but it was never crowded. We only stayed up to watch one evening show - the magic show on the Thursday - recommended, but we heard the evening entertainment was great. ALL of the hotel staff were friendly, and chatty. They were helping my boyfriend learn Spanish during breakfast - “cafe con leche”. Overall, it was an amazing trip. We will definitely be back!

The resort is beautiful, clean and delicious. Well kept grounds, clean rooms, scrumptious restaurants. Never waited for food or drinks. Amazing staff. Now the bad. When we arrived at airport we had to fill out another declaration from. Mass confusion. It is 9pm we are hot and tired. The print on the forms are so small. Why couldn't we do it on plane ? We waited over an hour for everyone to complete these forms so we could shuttle to our hotel. And there were no drinks. Not a welcome cock [... read more]tail, not beer for sale at airport or on bus, first time for us, no beer ! Not even water to drink! When we arrived at hotel there was 1 sandwich in room. Only sandwiches available from room service. By now it is 11pm. We are at only bar open, no snack bar !the Disvo has ear splitting music and of course no one in it. We grabbed drinks and sat in lobby. Next problem. SMOKING. It is not enforced. Smoking with non smoking sections. Saw people sit at non smoking tables and smoke. Some took signs off table. Staff would do nothing about it. My last complaint is the bar , disco closes whenever.....we were seated in front of glass door to Disco, playing cards, drinking, and tipping. Twice she closed bar an hour early. Didn't ask if we would like another drink, of course ! And didn't tell us she was closing. We would have been quite happy with another drink or 2. It was only midnight and all inclusive. The Activities were great. Sometimes you had to remind them but they were willing g to play all the games and we had a great time !

Exactly what we expected. Great family resort with wonderful staff. Rooms and resort in general was very clean. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend here as a great low key holiday!

Staff are very friendly and helpful. This resort is spotless , always being kept clean. Beautiful view from almost anywhere on the resort. We would return for sure ! Very close to town , nice walk on the beach into Cabaret . Short drive to Sosua or just stay and relax on the beach. Always a chair available .

WIFI AROUND THE HOTEL SUCKS, IT' S ON AND OFF ALL THE TIME, THERE ARE AREAS THAT YOU CAN'T EVEN CONNECT. I AM SORRY BUT THIS IS NOT A 4 STAR HOTEL, I WILL PROBABLY GIVE IT A 3 STARTS THE MOST, FOR THE PRICE THAT WE PAID IS NOT WHAT WE WERE EXPECTING.

beautiful place employees are awesome, service was great. we really enjoyed the entertainment the crew were awesome. food ok not enough choice in buffet seemed like always the same food every day. our room didn't like there was water on the floor day in and day out was tired of having wet feet too humid i guess. last 2 days air conditioning in our room didn't work my husband was very upset he likes the bedroom cold sleeps better. Also the day before we were leaving to go home had a note on the d [... read more]oor saying that they were going to fumigate our room between 10 am to 4 pm we were not happy about that with all our stuff in the room and having to sleep after they had fumigated. They could’ve done that the morning we were leaving.

Viva V Samana by Wyndham: Fantastic resort for any desired vacation.

It is as quiet and intimate as you want it to be. There are also activities throughout the day and evening to become fully engaged if you choose. The food was the best I have had at an all inclusive destination. Staff were all very friendly, polite, helpful and caring. I cannot say enough about the experience from pick up at the airport, check-in, room cleanliness, food, drinks and general hospitality. Wonderful place to relax. The best food I’ve ever had at any all inclusive. Very small quaint resort. Highly recommend it. Beach water is rough so not good if your not confident in the water. Lots of beach miles available to walk.

It was a positive surprise! the hotel is small and easy, but well designed. The beach, the pool, the food were very good, really nothing to complain when all that happend on a week with perfect weather. Our first day was December 31 and we were treated with very good party, including life music, dancers and fireworks. We had the Amnesia Junior Suite, very spacious, with good balcony and amenities. Little things could be improved, but not really a deal breaker. For example the bathroom does no [... read more]t have a single hook or towel rack where to hang your towel. The wifi is pretty good around all hotel spaces, including in the room and on the beach. One other think that people may not like much is that the lobby is super small, and has only a shop, but not a bar. The pool bar is basically the only place to have a drink, regardless the time of the day. The buffet food was good, with god service and decent selection, never crowded, and with long working hours. The animation team is very good, they run activities around the pool, the beach and late evening and did an amazing job, given it is the same people. Mama Bee, their boss and MC on all activities is really the key person that makes it all so good. The area outside of the hotel is very safe, pretty and pleasant for walks, including at night, as it is part of gated Playa Dorada area, around the golf course. There were some mosquitoes, but not that much,but bug repellent and AfterBite is good to have with you.

From the moment we arrived our stay was relaxing. Our rooms were ready (earlier than stated check in time). The staff and porters all smiling and welcoming. My husband and I travelled with our two daughters to spend New Years in a beautiful relaxing oasis and to say goodbye to a year best forgotten (2019). And that is exactly what we got. We loved the showers with the big rain heads and beautifully tiled floors and walls. The public bathrooms were also very beautiful with carved rock sinks and beautiful local marble tiles. We liked going to the buffet for each meal as opposed to the a la carte restaurants. The wait staff were quick and attentive. There was a large variety of good quality food choices that were varied each night. We tried the Fusion restaurant one night, and while delicious and presented beautifully, we did not want to spend a long time at dinner and preferred to sit around the lobby/bar area and listen to the local talent sipping cocktails and chatting with the friendly and entertaining animation crew or other guests. While the pool area was stunning and welcoming, we ended up spending all of our time down by the beautiful and clean beach. You could walk a long way each direction. We had a blast boogie boarding and playing volleyball. The beach staff from the animation crew to the bartenders were always friendly and smiling. They seemed very happy to be there and enjoyed their jobs along with the guests. We found beach chairs every day but the ever present towel on chairs with nobody in sight was an issue here as it seems to be in every resort. LOVED that the towels did not require towel cards and that we could use as many as we wanted. What a refreshing idea! There were a few animation crew that made our stay especially fun and comfortable. Honourable mention for Miguel Jordan and Adolfo! They just made the trip so fun and cheery. There were others that also stood out but I do not remember their names. The grounds were very beautiful with a large variety of exotic and flowering plants, and extremely well maintained. This resort is not necessarily about the night life as it quieted down fairly quickly and the disco was on the beach so you could not hear it past 10pm. News Years eve on the other hand was extremely well done with an incredible banquet dinner followed by a crazy party by the pool. No expense was spared and food included lobster, any kind of seafood you could want, elaborate dishes and decorations. The party had a light and sound show to rival any I have seen. The staff worked very hard to ensure everyone had a blast. The next morning, the resort was pristine again. I cannot imagine how much work it took to recover the serene beauty of the grounds after such a big party. Bravo Viva Wyndham V Samana!

Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: Fantastic vacation

Our hotel room had some issues with hot water & water pressure in the shower. We also had a funky toilet that didn’t flush very well.. We had a problem with the shower hose & the hotel staff fixed it right away for us. The beach & pool area were amazing! The dining areas were always clean & well taken care of! There was always plenty of delicious foods to choose from, never went hungry! The entertainment was good & the staff were great! Very nice resort:)

We had an amazing time the hotel is stunning the beach is peaceful and beautiful. Stayed in the bungalow. Highly recommend. Only complaint very poor pressure in the showers. Food just ok but I am picky.

Viva Dominicus Palace by Wyndham: Lovely property and great staff

This is a beautiful property. The beach is wonderful. Both the new rooms and the older rooms are well kept, clean and comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful and did their very best to get us everything we needed to have a really good holiday. The food in general was good. We had our favorite al carte restaurants but the buffet always had ample choices. A good thing was that many of the foods were new to us but became some of our favorites.
