Home away from home

I have been to this resort twice now...once in the throes of Hurricane Sandy ( distasteful thought I know) but the employees here made it so fantastic even during that rough time that I just had to go back and make more memories. My second time was just recently and once again had the time of my life (brought my fiancee there for his first trip ever as well). They have a great variety of foods if you don't like certain ones you can go to the 24 hour snack bar and get more Canadian type foods. Th [... read more]e room itself was amazing HUGE comphy bed with a maid that was amazingly upbeat, cheerful and very good at her job. The overall trip was a sensation with my S/O and we plan on returning again in Feb 2017!!! its worth every penny for the stay and whatever exursion you wish to participate in.

Very Good

Most things were very good. No major problems. The food was good, there is lots of choice so you should be able to find something.I went in October and it was quiet on the resort. There was no much of a wait for anything . The staff for the most part is very helpful and pleasant. The beach is very nice, the water is beautiful. Good snorkeling . Good for couples. Pleasant Journey

This was my third trip to Playa Costa Verde and was just as enjoyable as before. Although it is starting to age, the hotel is always clean and well maintained, with work being done on upgrades on a regular basis. Food in the buffet was plentiful and well prepared with lots of variety. My only complaint: What happened to the bar stools in the Lobby Bar?

Fabulous time in Cuba!

I love Playa Costa Verde. I have been here four times and it keeps getting better. Love the people there. Especially Wilson and Patricia and Ivan and Enrique. Staff are excellent. We have made many friends here. Love it.

Love this resort!

The staff at this resort is really what sets it apart from others. Having travelled to the Mayan Riviera 4x, Veradero and Cayo Santa Maria I can honestly say that what will keep me coming back to this resort is the staff. They go out of their way to make you feel at home, whether it's Guest Relations, Front Reception, Lobby bar, buffet, snack bar animation or beach bar they take the time to get to know you and make you feel special. We found the drinks to be mixed the way we like them when on vacation (strong) Rooms are spacious and kept clean the maids do a wonderful job and we love the towel art! Beach is beautiful. We love the contrast of water and mountains in this area. Yes there is a bit of coral to get around but there are plenty of openings to get in.Seriously if this bothers you then just walk towards either of the other 2 resorts and get in that way. I blindly choose this resort to get married at in 2014. Read the reviews and they were consistently positive. The wedding package not only offered more but was also less expensive. They went above and beyond what we could have imagined and made our day magical. We were so impressed with this resort that we went back the following year with pretty much the same group of 10 and were not disappointed the second time around. Looking forward to being back at this resort next year :)

Resort is fair

The rooms were very acceptable, the staff very friendly and helpful to all requests, the food was somehow ok if your not a picky eater. The place itself is big and spacious for everyone, all the grounds very well maintained. One thing that it would need is a little more entertaining at night started at 9:00 and ended +/- 10:00. The snack bar and lobby bar open 24 hours. The pool would need some renewal, tiles missing and some mildu at some areas. Now for the beach, the walk way threw the swamp to go to the beach smelled bad, and the water looked ugly brown, but the sand was beautiful, loved the beach bar, but we all had a hard time getting into the ocean because of all the rocks, bolders, and corals all over the place, I did not understand why, just a little walk away the some other resorts does not have any of those issues in the ocean !!!!

Good Week!

The resort was well maintained and the people working there were really kind! The grounds crew cut us fresh coconuts! The walk to the beach from the room was a bit long for the kids and baby in the family, but once we got to the beach-party time!

Another great stay at PCV!

We stayed in a suite from July 26th to July 3rd, and had a great time. It was our 4th time to PCV, and our first with our 5 year old son. We also travelled with my brother and his wife, who were going to an all inclusive for the first time. The food was typical for a Cuban resort, and most of it was very good. The pricing for the only pay restaurant El Bohiho was a little steep. Steak was 15 cuc, and the lobster was 20. The lobster was delishish and huge! However considering the CDN dollar rate [... read more] for peso exchange, it is not a good value meal considering they get the lobster locally and it costs them next to nothing to get. It's the staff that continue to make this resort a great place to travel to. If the staff ever changed, most reviews would probably drop to a 3 star. The pool is beautiful, and the beach is also gorgeous. I found that the prices of souvenirs, alcohol, and everything in general keeps going up. When I asked a staff member about this, they admitted to being in Canada recently in order to set their prices higher since we are used to paying more anyways. Regardless of all of this, PCV is still an excellent value to travel to. The staff and people of Cuba are wonderful and we can always count on great memories. A big shout out to Hulio who took my family out on the catamaran twice while we were there.

Great Resort!

T he resort grounds were beautifully taken care of and very clean. The pool was amazing with easy access pool bar. Our room was fine and only a place were we slept. The food was really good with so much variety. Loved the a la carte restaurants.

Good vacation

Nice room,well laid out resort,fantastic pool and beach Average buffet and real good alacarte restaurants especially the Japanese Lots of bars to choose from,pool bar needs improvement for better service Lots of activities and excursions to choose from Friendly staff and travel reps are very helpful,front desk helpful too

Relaxing family getaway!

Although this resort is not brand new it is lovely all around. Rooms are spotless and the grounds are immaculate. The Cuban people as always are warm and welcoming and do everything they can to make your stay the best. We changed rooms our first day to be closer to the pool and buffet since we had a five year old with us. The switch was smooth as can be.

Playa Costa Verde

We have travelled for over 14 years to the Caribbean! Never were we so disappointed as we were at this resort - we were a family of 6 - reserved 3 rooms over 45 days before going and when we got to the resort, the 3 rooms were in different buildings. I had to go to the front desk and beg, and I mean beg, them to put us in one building. Not only that, we had a senior who was 80 years old and as the week went on, had trouble walking back and forth from our building to the lobby, where all the acti [... read more]vities were. We asked that if someone could drive us back to our building as there were 4 golf carts there not being used. This was at the end of the night and they had said no, and we asked to speak to the manager and the manager actually drove us back. On a positive note, the bands in the lobby every night were really good, but the front desk do not no how to treat paying guests. A lot of money spent and the trip was very stressful as a result!!!

Everything you would need very Good - Excellent

The grounds, food , cleanliness, hospitality was very good. Entertainment lacked a little in the everning, but during the day it was great. the pool was nice and big, The beer hut was also good with music playing

BEAUTIFUL BEACH

Being my first trip to Cuba I was pleasantly surprised. I did not go in with high expectations and had heard the food wouldn't be good etc. We went with a couple who recommended the resort and who had been there 7 times. This made the trip all the better. It was not a busy time (beginning of May) so it was not too crowded at any of the resturants and there was always a place to sit at the pool and the beach. The temperature was hot every day (34 in the shade and the water temp was at least 82).  [... read more]It did rain on our first day at supper time and again on the second day at supper time but that was it for the rest of the week. We were thrilled as we expected it to rain as it is the start of the rainy season. Humidity was high but there was a nice breeze every day so it didn't seem so bad. The food was to be expected but there was always something on the menu worth eating so you would not go hungry! The rooms were modest and could use a little care but they were clean every day. The service there was always great and the people were always friendly and smiling. We asked for water to be there every day in our room and it was. Some other people in our party didn't get water the whole week?? Different maid I guess. The best part of it all though was the beach. The water was crystal clear and right off the shore were the perfect places to snorkel. We snorkeled every day and took many great pictures. Lots and lots of different fish to see. You could use the snorkel gear there but had taken our own with us. There is a small reef of coral just off the shore and some people wore water shoes to cross. We took them with us but didn't feel the need to wear them. There were kayaks, paddle boats and small sail boats to use, all free of charge. We went on a catamaran trip with a guide and that was quite an experience. It was exciting as the waves were super high and maybe just a little bit scary but our operator was great! Not sure if that's for me but my husband loved it. All in all, for the cost, I'd go back and recommend this resort.

We keep returning

This was our third time at this resort. The beach and snorkeling are the highlight for us as well as the Japanese a la cart. We're missing the bicycles this trip but took advantage of the moped rentals to check out local villages. Friendly, clean and service oriented. Only challenge for us is the beds.

Wonderful resort

Spent 2 weeks at PCV and had a great time. Rooms were clean, the food was great, we could always could find a spot at the beach no matter what time we went down. Yes there are some rocks and coral in the water but you just needed to be careful going in and you were fine even without water shoes. Can't think of anything we didn't like. I would be happy to return to this resort again.

Quite dated but fair for the price.

This resort is fair for the price. The rooms are quite large and have everything necessary but need a total update. We were on the main floor (tried to get moved to second floor but wouldn't do it) and we found a lot of bugs every day coming back to our room. The food was adequate, always found something to eat. It is Cuba lol. The beach was wonderful with coral reefs for snorkelling and lots of water activities. I found the staff and people wonderful, very warm and friendly, definitely a plus.  [... read more]We took a risk and travelled in May and we're lucky with the weather, very hot and sunny. It was great but because of the humidity the mosquitoes were terrible in the evenings. Bug spray a must!

Great time, awesome beach, good snorkeling

resort was good, rooms were clean, maids were great, wait staff were good, the omelette lady, donut lady & rice lady at the main buffet were all excellent, japanese was by far the best a la carte because of the entertainment and food, cuban was also good, would have preferred a lengthier drink list, patricia at the beach bar was great

Awesome

Awesome resort. Rooms clean. Food good but different variety themes night to night would be better. Some of the serving staff could be happier. More bar tenders would be good. Grounds kept very clean even after torrential rain. Thxs for a great holiday.

Ok Resort

Grounds were lovely kept, rooms were nice and clean other then ceiling leaked like an open fawcett when it rained which it did for day and half, food was great if they could have kept the birds from eating out of same dishes I was eating out of, cats around tables while we were eating even in the ala carte restaurant and alot of walking to and from everything which would not have been a problem other then I had hurt my knee/leg and found it really difficult to get around and when I asked for car [... read more]t or trolley I was told it was broke or out of gas, so not bad, but I would not go back
