Great Resort!

The Brisas was very nice. It has a lot to offer and the beach was amazing. We stayed in the hotel section which was close to all the main pool activities and the Lobby bar. The buffet was okay but the restaurants are excellent. I recommend the "Sea Food" and "International". The staff are very friendly and hard working. The other vacationers we met were awesome as well and some of them, have been going to the Brisas for over 10 years. VACATION TO REMEMBER!!!

We were very impressed. This was my first visit and Cheryl's second to Cuba. We will both be back again!!! The variety of food, the pleasant staff and the wonderful environment all added to our time at the resort. The ability to safely walk all through the resort as well as a comfortable feeling to walk to the flea market. The ride in the horse drawn buggy to the farm and then to the village was excellent. Great resort- lasting memories

Overall the resort was awesome! I would go back. Entertainment, the grounds and proximity to ocean was amazing!! The buffet was great, always a table and good selection of food. The front desk customer service was underwhelming- they were not overly helpful, the pool was cold the first few days, plus the hour and a half wait in the a la carte reservations line were reasons why I have it a 4 not a 5. Great value for the money.

Wonderful

Loved this resort. The food was good and lots of choices of where to eat. Six a la cartes and two served breakfast and lunch. There was live entertainment every evening at the hotel or the snack bar. Loved the John Lennon memorial and the band that played Beatles and old rock. The beach was beautiful although you had to get there early to get a good spot. The rooms were a little dated. I would definitely recommend it.

Changing

This was a great resort. The food was always the best in Cuba. It is under new management and they seem interested in saving money. They have redone some decor upholstery but cut the staff and the food is not as good.

Changes not so good

I have been to this resort 7 times and this will be the last, the food quality has gone down hill unless you have an alacarte booked!,the rooms never change and some of the attitude of the newer staff is left to be desired, change in management is maybe the issue! Tips I now find are expected!! I guess all things have to change the beach is beautiful and pools are lovely nice new hot tub to bad some parents don't mind there children and then ruin things for other guests, bubble bath is not appre [... read more]ciated by everyone! Cuba is Cuba 2.5 to a 3 star is how to rate this hotel.

Awesome Resort

This is my 4th time to Brisas I love it there it is like home, staff very welcoming, food fantastic, they employee university students which are fluent in several languages. The entertainment is superb. I used to go to Mexico but enjoy this better, safer lovely walk to the market for crafts etc. Horse back riding. This hotel is a little older but is managed very well and they cater to their guests.

Great! Exceeded expectations, will return

We were there for 10 days from Feb 11th. My boyfriend did not want to go this resort because it was rated at only 3 and half stars. I talked him into it and was nervous. However, I can honestly say that we LOVED this place. I don't understand the people who say it is rubbish. I have no idea what they are talking about. We stayed in a Villa room, and had the quiet of that side and the fun of the other side when we wanted. I loved that you can walk everywhere in a few minutes (our room was two min [... read more]utes from the beach, restaurants, lobby, pool). The beach is long enough that it is not crowded. You can sit in 3 different restaurants (even the buffet) and look at the ocean. For something different to do you can walk the boardwalk to the public beach and go to the market or walk that beach, climb the small cliff and eat the the local restaurant with spectacular views of the beach and hotel.Grounds were beautiful. Food was ok (ran out of potatoes) but it is Cuba. You can find something to eat. At least we did not go home with extra pounds!! Lots of different bars. People were great. Try to take something for them (go to the Dollarstore and buy stuff like reading glasses, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, candy for their kids. Also medications like Tylenol etc.) We gave this kind of stuff to the gardeners who don't get tips and they were very appreciative, Anyway, we took a cab to look at other hotels in the area (Pescaro, Paradisis, etc.) which are higher rated and I didn't like them as much. We have been to Cayo Santa Maria (best hotel beach), Cayo Coco (best public beach is Pilar) and I liked them but Brisas is the one I will be going back to. The price/quality ratio makes it an amazing deal and great value for money.

Wonderful staff

a very well run resort. The grounds are well kept, and the staff great. The only area of disappointment was the Italian restaurant, the staff were good but the food was not. The buffet restaurant was the best bet, and the breakfasts were good.

Great times again

Staff is exceptional, place is always clean, they work to keep things up, but being Cuba, realize older hotels like this one are not the best in rooms or beds, but then how long you planning to stay in a room when on vacation?

Relaxing vacation

Cubana airlines a definite improvement over Canadian airlines. Hola tours can be recommended , especially for the catamaran side trip included with thier package. Hotel checkin was quite slow, but otherwise service was prompt. Maid service was very good, we left gifts and tips most days. Fridge was nice in the room, but only stocked with one bottle of water on arrival, would be nice to have refilled and have beer and soft dricks as well. The villa pool being shallower was quite busy with children, the hotel pool was deeper, great for swimming. The swimup bar were great but was also the closest to the beach, the beach not having a bar. There were several times on the beach we were served drinks by the "beach bartender" A couple of the bars do have "international drinks" if you get tired of the local rum and cervesa. Minor problems with our room regarding the air conditioner and a leaky fridge but these were fixed within an hour. Beach was beautiful, very clean water and low waves even on a windy day. Always able to find a lounge chair on the beach, and plenty available around the pool. The food was good but not up to standards of other resorts we have been to. Beef and pork was always chewy, not much of a menu change from day to day, but no need to go hungry, enough of a variity to staisfy most people. The fruit was not ripe enough, might be out of season. In total we would recommend this resort for the value. To get 5 star rating you have to pay a 5 star price. John and Valerie

really love that we can walk around hotel, the food is very good & the staff very friendly It was our fourth year at the resort & always cannot wait to go back I will recommend this resort to my friends

Everything you could want at your fingertips

Amazing value for money. Food was plentiful and excellent. Service friendly and professional. Our room overlooked the ocean and was very clean and large. Staff went out of their way to make everyone feel at home very warm and thiughtful.

Best bang for the buck!

Great value from this beautiful venue, The service was great across the board. I did find that tipping was acknowledged and appreciated, although not expected. Lots of activities to entertain yourself without paying for any excursions. Great for all ages. Young or old there is something for everyone. For the money, you can't beat this place. Many other guests told me they have vacationed here for twenty to thirty times. I can see why! I travelled with a group the last week of October. The resort [... read more] was not busy at all during this time period. I would be curious to see if the service would be diluted when they operate at full capacity. It might be worth my while returning just to find this out!

Fabulous!

Awesome place. They are improving on their maintenance. The Cuban people are kind generous and helpful. The ala carte restaurants were excellent. Many little bars, tea area, cappuccino area hidden within the resort. As a always check your change because they can try to give regular pesos. Get a receipt and have your calculator at hand when exchanging money because it is not always accurate. They will take USD but it costs them 20 cents on the dollar to exchange so they prefer CUCs.

Excellent vacation resort

Grounds well maintained,Staff very friendly,Great beach close to local straw market,Guest services ready to assist with any problems,lots of acctivities water sports, spanish lessons.Great food and beverages.

Wonderful...as always!

September/October 2015 I recently returned to a long time favourite and again, did not disappoint. Enjoyed wonderful meals at the buffet and a la carte restaurants. Great room in the Villa section which gave us quick access to the pool, hotel and beach. My only issue during the week was with Guest Services...little tiring when you have to constantly remind you are a 'repeat' guest....this trip was probably my 15th/16th return although even after my conversation with Guest Services and providing  [... read more]past travel dates (again!!) nothing was done other than to agree to a late checkout !!!! All in all terrific week and definitely will be returning in the near future.

Love this resort!

Beautiful resort and great staff. The only staff that is not pleasant is the front desk. Great entertainment staff for activities. Food is decent, definitely won't go hungry. Market is in walking distance. This was our third time to this resort.

2 1/2 star disguised as 4 star

Poor services, poor food, lots of locals that act like savages, very loud and disrespectful to the other tourists. The water does not have the "Caribbean" look due to the seaweed. Not going back there

Fun, fun, fun!!

Everyone was nice... Everything was easy at that resort. Acces to playa 24h. Wow! Fun, fun, fun! Shows, beach party until pass midnight, many restaurants, tea garden for the apero time... Watching weddings while being in the sea... :)))
