Very nice

Hotel room needs some maintenance e.g.: the bathroom needs a good scrubing. AC not working up to par, ironing board broken, curtain needs replacing and most unimportant the room smells. The room needs airing out.

Vacation in Cuba

Resort was ok overall, but service was poor. Room was ok. Shower was broken when we arrived, water pressure was low. Not enough towels and soap/shampoo provided. When you call for extra towels or shampoo to guest service, they only bring it the next day.

Best for your money

Beautiful resort, amazing beach, top pick for your dollar. I am a 3rd time visitor (I was actually in the first group that went to this resort) and I am glad that it's still up there. I define try recommend it.

Great resort

The grounds were kept up. Lots of walking. There needs to be more air conditioned areas especially when you visit during Cuba's summer. Beach is outstanding! Pool area needs to be monitored, lot of disrespectful tourists eating in the pool garbage all over the deck! I didn't take my family there because we went for the ocean not the pool! Beautiful beach

This resort was great, lots of choices at the buffet and the service was was great too. We loved the entertainment in the evenings especially, a lot of it started around 7 so the kids could really enjoy it too. The 24h lobby bar and snack bar were really handy too, as we left the resort at 630 am All in all a great vacation I would definitely return

Okay resort for the third visit

Overall our vacation was great with the grand-kids for their first time and our third time. The grounds are well kept. Dining was great for what we pay for. Our room was okay but the bath tub need work. The family pool is falling apart and no towels until the 4th day never available. The pool bar was okay. Heard from other guests it was their 1st time and would not come back to this resort. I would let my family and friends know what to expect from this resort.

Amazing experience

The hotel was absolutely gorgeous. The the staff were incredibly friendly! I want to especially thank our maid service, drink service to the room, our buffet server and all the bar staff. I also want to say that the beach is incredible and there were always huts available which was awesome Thankyou for the wonderful memories!

Great resort!

Here is a breakdown of our stay at Melia Las Dunas (adults only side) from July 3-8. PROS Despite many peoples complaints about the food in Cuba and the poor state of the accommodations, we felt as though the food was good and we were very well taken care of. Our room was nice and clean and was maintained daily. The staff at the restaurants were extraordinarily hard working and mindful of their patrons. The resort is literally split into two halves, one for adults only and the other for families. We appreciated having quiet time to lounge and swim without crying babies and children running around, while the families still had a place to vacation without disturbing everyone else. The 24hr lobby bar and snack bar are great features after everything else has closed and even in the early morning hours when the airport buses come and go. The beach was big and beautiful with white sand, warm clear water and a plenty of seating and even though we travelled to this resort with the beaches in mind the pools proved to be just as good! The many other resorts attached to this resort were great to see as well as the near by markets. CONS July is the quiet season. We were aware of this when we went, but other travellers should be warned that despite the advertised amenities, some will be closed. When we arrived in July, several restaurants and one of the two main buffets were closed (which is understandable due to the amount of people there) which made the one buffet considerably busy and the remaining restaurants that were open overbooked. The staff is very polite and helpful, but at times can be overly helpful expecting tips when it is unnecessary. Although this was not an issue, it can be an annoyance at times, especially when you are not prepared to pay anyone. We did witness a baggage handler getting very upset with a woman over not giving a tip. We know this is no party resort, however the 6:00pm general closing times for the most of the grounds including the pool areas, beach areas, ice cream stand, and pizzeria seemed a little early especially when the sun didn't set until hours later. It is understandable that the beach closed for obvious safety reasons, but the other amenities should at least be open until 8 or 9. Aside from the hotel itself, the bus ride from the airport to the resort is long and tiresome as well as the airport wait, however the staff worked hard to ensure everyone made it to their flights and did their best to entertain the guests during the bus ride. These cons are all simply little inconveniences to us, which didn't really impact us enjoying our vacation. OVERALL This is a very good resort that works above and beyond to serve and impress their guests and will be sure to offer a great vacation spot for couples or families. The inconveniences do not surpass the good features this resort has to offer, we highly recommend it and look forward to travelling to Cuba again in the future!

Great resort !

We recently stayed at this hotel as it was recommended by our friends. We were pleasantly surprised that it was just as they said it would. The hotel itself is a bit older and might need a little 'face lift' bit it was charming in its on way. Loved that the lobby and everything that u needed didn't require climbing stairs as it was located on the ground level. Beautiful beach

Everything was good except the blankets and the bed sheets were too old. Beautiful beach but watch out with the jellyfish, my kids got stung on the 1st day at the beach. A long walk from resort to the beach. Great done with the nighty entertainment.

Good resort to stay

Ground/Landscaping is excellent, Food is good, except the Oriental A la Catre, Beach is beautiful, Front desk tried to accommodate client with their best effort, excellent! All about this resort, but the Cubana Airline was a bit scary when we landing to Toronto on Jun 11, 2016.

Amazing Trip

It was my second time at the Melia Las Dunas, I'm so happy we chose to go back. From check in (which was fast and easy) to check out, everything was perfect. The lobby is beautiful, the bar had an excellent choice, and the staff, well, amazing as usual. The beach was so beautiful, you can walk for ever and it's clean, safe and at times breathtaking. Buffet, restaurants by the pool and the lobby and specialty restaurants were all very good. I would go back there again, well worth the drive from the airport!

Awesome Resort !

We stayed at the Melia Las Dunas from May 2nd to 9th, 2016 with family of three. That was our first trip to Cuba and it was such a positive experience. We arrived in the late evening but the check-in process was very smooth. The beach was gorgeous, crystal clear blue and white sand. Out of the 7 days, we had one morning of rain but it did not bother us because we were able to enjoy the vacation differently. I enjoyed having meals in the buffet restaurant as it offered reasonable selections for breakfast, lunch and dinner. In particular, I love the omelettes and fresh mangoes for breakfast. The fried fish and shrimps were my wife’s favorite. We reserved the A la cartes the next day and picked Seafood, Italian and Romantico. I enjoyed all 3 with Romantico being my favorite. The Beer Garden is OK and operates 24/7. The staff at the resort are very friendly. Our fridge was stocked daily with a water bottle, pop, and beer. The only problem I has was the bathtub with water did not drain out smoothly. Good service, friendly smiles. Overall we had a awesome time.

Loved Melia Las Dunas

I loved everything about this resort. The grounds were beautiful and we'll maintained, food excellent, customer service amazing. Beach was one of the best I've ever been to. The resort had many activities and was very active at night with entertainment shows and disco.

Amazing resort

Wonderful resort!! Beautiful, well maintained grounds. Service and accommodations were excellent! Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food was really quite good! Beach is stunning. Loved the " Relax Pool"! I highly recommend this resort.

Great Resprt

This hotel is the best one we have been to in the last 5 years. The hotel is beautiful and very, very clean. The rooms are large and the cleaning lady does a great job. The food was very good and lots of variety. The staff for the most part was friendly and good at their job. Our biggest complaint is the swim up bar staff, they completely ignored the children if an adult was not with them, even after tipping them too much. We are not animal lovers do not get me wrong we like animals but this resort had too many cats which are feral and too many dogs. The beach itself was beautiful and we are beach people. We traveled with our grandchildren 5 and 6, at the resorts we had been to before you could walk out forever before the water got deep, not this beach, the drop off was sudden and deep. As adults this is great but for this reason my daughter would not return to this resort.

Awesome staff and resort!!!

Had a wonderful week with perfect weather at the Melia Las Dunas resort. Took tennis lessons every morning and enjoyed one of the most stunning beaches I've ever been to. The staff was friendly and always greeted us with a genuine smile!

Very nice hotel. Exceed our expectations. We had an amazing time there Pros: Beautiful grounds, nice food. Amazing beach. Good choice of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. Cons: Entertainment could've be better.

The hotel iz not at the level of a 4 star.

Rooms ae not clean and towels dirty upholstery linen towels. Kitchen and bar OK ,waiters and chefs and statt that works at the bar are super helpful and friendly. The beach is clean water is clean only was jellyfish but we could not swim in the ocean and we do not like swimming in the pool.
