Great resort, amazing staff, fantastic time!

I traveled to this resort at the end of February with three friends and we all had a great time. The resort is beautiful and the beach is great. We had read reviews about it being quite large and lots of walking but we all found this was not the case. Maybe we were lucky in our location in building four but we were steps away from the main pool, and whether you were heading to the beach or restaurants, it really only took a few minutes to walk to either one. Overall the service was great. There [... read more] may have been the odd spot that was a little slow or understaffed but really nothing to complain about. This can happen anywhere. Our favourite servers where Victor in the Sports Bar and Alistair and Victor at the outdoor bar/entertainment area. We loved this concept out having the band and DJ outside and everyone in the resort was always having a great time there. We liked all the restaurants and the best were the Indonesian and Japanese. The food and service and both places were amazing. A lot of people raved about the French and Italian, which we found good but we enjoyed the other two more. Again, it can depend on your server and what you ordered. The rooms were a nice size and I like the layout that the bathroom area was separated from the bedroom. The beds were quite comfortable. The only little complaint was that we wished there was more vanity space in the bathroom area but then we were two girls sharing a room so given this is an Adults Only, it's more designed for couples. I think people can always find something to complain about, some more than others, but as long as the place is clean and safe, you are on vacation so just enjoy it. It's more about who you are with and that is what makes it a great vacation. I have been traveling to resorts for the past 15 years and this one is near the top.

Perfect Couples Vacation

Had a wonderful 1-week vacation at this all-inclusive resort. We have been to several resorts in the Mayan Riviera before and this is one of the best ones. Very new and clean. Service was excellent. Got upgraded to a better suite just for requesting a king-size bed instead of 2 doubles. Pools were amazing but unfortunately quite cold for some reason, so not a lot of people were in the water. Food was great both at the buffet restaurants and at the a-la-cartes for dinner. Did not attend any of the evening shows so can't comment on those. Yes you have to reserve your lounge chairs by the pool or beach early each day, but that wasn't too difficult. Overall an enjoyable and much-needed escape from the bleak Canadian winter. :-)

Acceptable

This is the 4th time to this resort. I was OK, just seen a lot of changes that did not make it worth the money spent. The people that work there area as always great to deal with. The food was just Ok, and the room was cleaned consistently, every day they forgot something

Valentin Imperial Maya Amazing!

My husband and myself loved the Valentin Imperial Maya Resort. We have been to many all inclusive resort and this has been the best. Great food, beach, rooms, staff and beach. We will be returning to this resort again.

Fantastic resort

This is a wonderful resort. The resort grounds were beautiful. The beach was wonderful (nice sand, clear water, nice waves, even we even fed some fish). Service was very good and the staff were all friendly. The food was great.

Great Hotel, Beach awesome

This hotel was awesome, we had a great trip, we requested rooms side by side and on an upper level, and we got them, we stayed in area 3, which was located close to everything. No beach or water view, but it was nice and quiet in the evenings. Entertainment every night, great food selection, and everyone in the hotel was very helpful. I would definitely go again. Awesome resort, awesome vacation!

Weve been to the excellence resorts 4 times and werent sure about valentine but we were not disappointed. Lovely rooms, beautiful grounds, top notch food, drinks and service. Beach is amazing. People go out of their way to please you. Highly recommend. Anything you need or want to amend they are quick to address.

Good but not so good

Long waiting always...Checking in, at all the restaurants, even the buffet. You need to be checked your room number and name. Very friendly staff but evening show and food are not that good, not recommended for the money

Awesome vacation - amazing resort

I have been to Dominican twice, Cuba 3 times, Cancun and Jamaica once each. Valentin Imperial Maya had the best rooms by far. We have been to some nice resorts but this one was the best for the accomodations .Perfect for honeymooners or to rekindle.I'm used to the humid moldy smell but this resort had none of that. It was amazing. Food was outstanding. We didn't even go to the buffet once for dinner. The only negatives were poor WiFi connection, made it difficult to face time the kids, but not the end of the world. Very windy...it was red flag most of the week so we didn't get to enjoy the beach and swim in the ocean. Not the resort's fault but still a bummer. The pools were awesome. We were in complex 7 with the private pool (Golden Junior Suites). You can order food right by the pool. It's a limited menu but it was delicious and the presentation was very impressive. It was so peaceful, quiet, it was just awesome. Looking for a party, the main pool was so big that you could always find a spot that had more action. Drinks were all good, premium liquor available. We will go back someday fornsure,. Soon I hope :) if you scuba dive, you have to go to Cozumel for a day. We rented a jeep and stopped at Palancar. Best scuba diving ever. Stop by Coconuts bar and grill, food is just not, but it's an experience.

This resort is mind blowing. From the moment you step foot on this resort you are treated with friendly, eager and gracious smiles that will do whatever you need to make your stay as pleasurable as possible. Staff is stellar. The entire resort is laid out conveniently and effective with numerous bars, eateries, activities, shops, pools,and of course the beach. The entertainment is great. from the poolside entertainers and activities, to the live theater shows, to the live music and late night DJ's there is never a dull moment throughout your day. If you are looking for something a little more quiet you can take advantage of the cigar bar as well. Food is fantastic. With something for everyone it was hard to decide where to eat each night...and that isn't a bad thing at all. Lets not forget the 24hr room service that has a nice selection of munchies and healthy alternatives, along with beer and spirits. If you are looking for a fabulous time where you can have a great balance of relaxation and entertainment I highly suggest you spend some time here. You will not be disappointed.

Fantastic resort

This was our fifth time to the resort and each time the standard gets better and better. Service, food, cleanliness, gardens and rooms are always kept to a five star standard. From the moment you arrive at the resort to the moment you leave every time service is always with a smile.

Awesome resort

This was our third trip to the Mayan Riviera but first stay at the Valentin Imperial. We absolutely loved the resort. The grounds, pool area, lazy river, beach, food and service were superior. We would definitely not hesitate to recommend this resort to anyone travelling to the Mayan. We plan on returning.

Great potential-just not clean

Loved the location along the coast, terrific beach with some private areas, good service - but the rooms had dust bunnies on walls, dirty lamp shade ( black) and stained blinds. I spoke to the front desk about it the morning after we arrived but it had no impact. Spoke to another couple who had the same concerns so we were not alone. Too bad. Grounds were beautifully maintained. Perhaps they should be assigned to do the insides as well.

Spectaculor

We've been to many all inclusives over the last ten years. This one was by far the best. The beaches in the Mayan are not the best but this one is one of the better ones we've seen. The hotel is sparkling clean. The staff were all accommodating and pleasant. The food was delicious. We spent ten days there and even had tried to find anything we did not like, we wouldn't have been able to. Free wifi and four computer stations to use free of charge if you needed them. Beautiful Resort

This resort is beautiful with very well maintained grounds and a wide and very tasty selection of foods in the many alacarte restaurants..The two downfalls to this resort was the lengthy check in process and the amount of walking involved to get anywhere in the resort...

Treated like royality

Best vacation ever would love to go back! Food service rooms and beach/pools were out if this world Want to return anytime I can, as this place was more than I could have ever expected. The room service was an extra special treat too

Excellent & amazing

We have been to Mexico many times, and we keep coming back to this hotel. The staff and location are the reason. The staff are so friendly, they make you feel right at home ! The bartenders at the beach bar are the best. The rooms are very clean, hot water and water pressure are excellent. The food was fantastic. There are 5 a la carte restaurants with no need for reservation (WOW!!). The grounds are very clean. The pools are great ! The beach is beautiful. I never felt so pampered

I asked for a quiet room and got it. Our patio opened out into a quiet garden. The staff was plentiful and couldn't do enough for you, or fast enough. 5 a la carte dining rooms with delicious varied menus. There was always 2 kinds of entertainment louder for the younger crowd and quieter for the more mature. 24 hour small buffet and room service, can you imagine.. The grounds were continually maintained. This is the Best Resort we have ever been to.

I'd go again

The hotel and grounds are beautiful and well kept. The a la carte restaurants are fabulous especially the hibachi bar. The only problem we had was with our son and daughter-in-laws door sensor. It took 6 times for them to get it fixed which was very frustrating. To add to that, as an "I'm sorry" they decorated the room. The problem was, it was our room not theirs. It was kind of a comedy of errors. Still I really enjoyed the resort and would definitely go again.

Had an amazing honeymoon :)

The resort was great, booking through tripcentral was great ... honestly, the experience was just great. I highly recommend the Emerald Junior Suite, it has a nice location right beside the beach and a really cool jacuzzi to relax in. There is so much to do in Mexico and being at an amazing resort with great food just makes it that much better. I just want to thank all of the staff for making the trip so memorable.
