Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: sweet sanctuary

As an older adult travelling alone for rest and recuperation, this was a perfect choice: a sweet sanctuary from everyday life. I met many repeat guests at this small adult-only resort. The check-in was very organized and efficient. The meals, drinks and snacks were always available. This hotel runs like clockwork. I felt very safe and taken care of. My room was super clean and had everything I needed: cold fridge with water refills, drip coffee maker (some rooms had the pod coffee mach [... read more]ines), large bathroom (big shower) and a balcony with ocean and pool view. Accommodations: Most rooms on this property have excellent views of the pool and the ocean. The buildings and grounds are clean, well laid out and there are many accessible options (ramps, bathrooms, first floor rooms). If you bring an HDMI cable you can play any movie from your phone to the TV (so you don't have to watch the news). Wifi was good enough to send messages and do video calls. Food: The deserts and omelettes were delicious. The beach dinner sunset BBQ was thoughtful and tasty. As a non-drinker I had many options of fancy drinks and was able to enjoy the full experience of an all-inclusive. Beach: There are many pockets of natural areas to spend some time away from the crowd. Footpaths take you to more than one "wild" beaches nestled in between the two main "serviced" beaches, one at each end of the property. Each of the two main beaches has sun shelters, beach chairs, a snack shack and a bar. Lots of nature to look at. Great people.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Beautiful Resort only 8 years old

This resort is huge and quite beautiful. The grounds are very well maintained and the staff are amazing. Special shout out to Manuel and Julio for making us feel so welcome. The beach is breathtaking, we had so much fun playing in the waves. The food was great, no shortages that we were aware of :) Although large, this resort is in desperate need of more guests, it was very quiet while we were there so the a la cartes were closed as well as some of the other advertised amenities. Valentin Perla Blanca: Awful!

I have been to this resort in 2016 and 2018, on my return end of April 2024 it was a huge surprise how run down the resort is. First off, we new there may be shortages, but not the amount we received (no toilet paper most time, same food breakfast, lunch and dinner, nothing to drink other than coke, rum usually only had dark, whisky and juice - that’s it - half the time they didn’t have enough water to give you). We make the best out of the t [... read more]rip and understood the shortages, but when going off resort to others they had everything that this resort said there are shortages. We booked a late check out and upon going to our room on the last day, they said we didn’t. Front reception didn’t want to give the keys back and said we had to pay per hour, even though we were told we would have no charge due to my third time returning. After speaking with customer service, she automatically was yelling at me when I was explaining what we were told by the other representative and said that would never be said. And expected me to tell her the other representative name and what she looked like. Front reception said customer service didn’t tell them and that’s our job to do that. Lastly, when we finally checked out after having to rush to pack up our things (thinking we had late check out) they cut our access to the wifi and said sorry your checked out (we still have 3.5 hours before the bus was going to pick us up). The pool with swim up pool bar was yellow, and no sheets were ever changed the entire we we were there, half the time we didn’t have any shower towels either. Much more has happened and more to be said, but ultimately this resort needs to shut down, absolutely awful!

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Hotdogs get your hotdogs

Beach and pool excellent. Very relaxing, never felt crowded at either beach or pool as resort was not too busy. Service was very friendly and for the most part prompt. Room are dated but clean. Nightly entertainment is good, but repetitive. The food Oh the food. It was by far the worst part of the trip. Unless you love hotdog. Hotdogs are serve with EVERYTHING!!!

Melia Las Dunas: Love it! Repeat guests

This hotel is very large. Clean and well maintained. It is getting a bit dated but we'll taken care of. The staff is what truly makes this resort so enjoyable they are top notch! Always friendly and willing to help out! The pool is great but sometimes not the cleanest probably due to all the guests that just throw there garbage everywhere. Beach is beautiful and very clean.. but lacking loungers or a lot of them need to be replaced due to damage. The food is good! At least the times I was t [... read more]here! There are shortages from week to week! It is Cuba I am enjoying a vacation not a culinary experience! Some of it is repetitive, but they are pretty creative with what supplies they have! For the price IPaid for a weeks vacation in Cuba..I have no complaints..I would go back in a heartbeat! ??

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: My second home!

Love this resort so much. The entertainment staff are amazing and are now considered my family?? the resort is beautiful, beach is amazing, food can be repetitive but they make the best of it! I enjoy the fried rice station and they always have ice cream for dessert! Such a beautiful spot, lobby is beautiful and the snack bar open 24hrs is great. Been multiple times and can't wait to go back!

Valentin Perla Blanca: Perla Blanca

Perla Blanca, when we first got there it was peaceful and quiet. A beautiful sea view on the third floor (minus a plastic white bag hanging off a branch of a tree). In the morning we went to the beach on the east side of the resort which connects to the nature reserve. Gorgeous beautiful beaches, there were a whole bunch of small huts close to where the vegetation started. Other than that there wasn’t that much garbage (mainly left behind in the huts by sh*tty tourists I assumed). But it was tolerable since Cuba has been going through a lot lately. We tried to clean up as much as possible. The second night we were watching some music videos on the tv at the second volume setting. At around 9 pm someone banged on our door with their fist very aggressively, I opened the door and it was our neighbour from Quebec furious because his flight was at 4am. Security came and calmed him down. Regardless of what we went through, we turned off the TV. Besides they were gone at 4am. The rest of our stay was good with the exception of some of the loud out bursts from neighbours shouting cheerful at one another from each others balconies, again francophones most likely from Quebec or New Brunswick, And then there was all the singing at the bar. They all got severely drunk, about I’d say 30 of them all signing to the point you couldn’t have a conversation with someone. One night I was awoken to some old guy barfing in the hall way. Than there was an incident at the pool where one francophone decided it would be a good idea to rip off a palm branch off a beautiful palm tree. Oh and the public urination by the Francophones, day and night. So my conclusion is, I will never go back there. We had fun because of each others company and the beaches were nice but the tourists from Quebec or New Brunswick really ruined it. I’m not generalizing that all people from Quebec or New Brunswick are like that, but the groups of people that were at our resort were some of the most disrespectful pig headed people I’ve ever seen. It’s a shame.

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Terrible resort

The grounds were always dirty, washrooms were filthy, they didn’t have any toilet paper in the washrooms or napkins in the buffet restaurant. The service in the pool bar , beach bar and beach restaurant was terrible. The blankets were smelly, the phones in the rooms didn’t work and the diamond club was a waste of money. The diamond club manager did nothing to fix any of the problems instead just made excuses. The beach is the most beautiful place but it’s too bad the hotel badly managed

I have just returned from my vacation at Grand Sirenis Cayo Santa Maria, the beautiful beach and its crystal clear waters,The stunning beach is beyond anything I've ever seen, with its soft white sand . Valentin Perla Blanca: Worth the money

The resort is beautiful and the staff are incredibly friendly. Our room needed an over hall but nothing a painter and good cleaning chemical wouldn't fix. Will go back for sure. Food was extremely good for Cuba and in this price range, one day we had no milk and no meat, next day we had milk, bacon and fresh LOBSTER! One guy eat three of them. Really, I know its all inclusive but why eat so much.... It really is a great resort. Extremely good bang for your buck! Still has the same chef that we remember meeting in 2015 when it first opened and not forgetting Angel, who was a kind gardener in 2015 when he picked us a coconut and filled it full of rum. Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Amazing

Amazing people Amazing view An excellent experience Beyond what words can describe. The food is not that great. The special dinners were good. Fast service for the most part. I would go back again for sure!

Beautiful grounds, well cared and clean. Rooms very clean and nice. Great views if you choose Ocean View. Good choice of food and drinks. Amazing staff. The beaches (2) are beautiful but bring your water shoes as in low tide it’s challenging to walk on corals. With high tide you will be fine. Very nice pools.A place to repeat!

Really enjoyed the spectacular gardens, wonderful staff, comfortable rooms and delicious meals! I have nothing to complain about:) Beach is the best part, actually 2 of them on this resort and and an extra enclave area just for snorkelling!

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: My happy place

So happy to be back. Can't say enough good things about this resort. Yes there were shortages but I go to be with the lasting friendships I have made with the staff and for the beach/ocean. Sunwing VIP'S stole the show with special food, drinks and entertainment only for them while paying guests went without. I get that they are trying to increase occupancy by selling the resort to the Sunwing reps in the hopes that they will send their clients here but it did put a sour taste in the mouths of t [... read more]he other "regular" guests.

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Needs lots of work

I was at Sanctuary grand memories. The beach was amazing pool was good , staff are friendly & helpful. The hotel is in need of work , rooms are very outdated , run down clean as can be …..except the pillow case came off one of my pillows & it was so dirty & black with mold . Staff did well with food with the supplies they had same as the drinks

Too loud especially in the theatre Long line ups for hot food, could wait 20 minutes Room clean, staff very friendly Too big a resort for our liking Beach OK, but not enough lounges One day, no buns and very limited cold meat selection Ran out of red and white wine, 2 days before we left. Cuba is very short on supplies. Tourists should be told to bring American $1.00 bills for tips. Cuba does not accept Cdn. Coins.

Paradisus Los Cayos: Very poor resort for the money we spent

No milk and or yogurt for the children, it was not variety of food, no ramp for strollers, children swimming pool was in repairs, but nobody was working on it, we found out that its been like that for more than a year, people good matters and very helpful, in the snack bar,no french fries, no bread for burgers and or hot dogs, sandwiches cubanos with out ham , only cheese, in washrooms outside the rooms, no toilet paper, in general a 3 out of 10.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Lovely resort

Best resort I have ever been to! Everyone is so friendly and go out of their way every single day to make your stay a wonderful experience! The beach is beautiful! I travelled with friends although it is considered an adult couples resort. We enjoyed our trip!

I was impressed with the cleanliness of the property. The rooms are comfortable, although in our case, we had to physically move a cot that prevented access to one side of the bed. The resort is very large, though well laid out. The beach is gorgeous but lounges in the shade are very close together and must be claimed early. It is a bit of a walk to get there. Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Special Place

We visited Melia Cayo Santa Maria in 2018 and had planned to return the following year. Here we are 6 years later and finally making our next trip South. The resort seems to have had a number of upgrades since we were there last. Our room was beautiful! We were so glad that Daniel was still there. He was one of the main reasons we returned. The pool was nice and Luis was always ready to find us a table or pool floaty, and to have a toss of the football! And the beach is amazing. You won’t find a nicer one anywhere. The entertainment team did a great job. There was one night that the sound system gave them some issues so the band that was to play in the lobby was unable, but the other nights there was something fun to watch. We will definitely be back (probably in less than 12 months) and are looking forward to it already. Shout outs to Daniel, Yamile, Yanelys, Luis and Norge. The people are the best!
