Quiet residential setting . The staff and security guards were all polite , friendly and very helpful . Was thankful for the AC and TV in the room . The bathtub needs to be brought up to date as well as the shower hose. Some electrical outlets are loose .

Brisas Sierra Mar: Advancing Decrepitation!

Brisas needs MAJOR reno's. Yes, it's scenic & staff wonderful, but hot food at best is lukewarm, flies arnd food a constant & halls leak after any rain, making floors slippery & dangerous to walk on.

Hotel Versalles: You get what you pay for!

We stayed here for a week in May - and felt like we got what we paid for. The rooms were clean, the food was fine, the pool was nice. Things quieted down at 10pm. All in all - it was a good week! We would come again.

Brisas Sierra Mar: Mixed

Beach: weeds bottom with huge sudden steps down, could be dangerous. Service: usual Cuban Food: usual Cuban Room: All the rooms have balconies and look at the ocean, but all the locks to balconies are broken, AC works as noisy as Harley-Davidson but getting nowhere. Value: it was cheap but good enough. Some adds Try to avoid Cuban Airline if possible. There is a nice coral reef in 300 meters from the beach.

Brisas Los Galeones: LosGaleones

Very friendly personal, good food (loved the soup), exceptional clean swimming pool. But need more outdoor chairs & beach lounges. Drawback ,beach is only accessable to healthy and fit people (299 stairs) to the beach, but you will not gain much weight this way

Carisol los Corales: very nice resort

not to much place to swim.most off the sea around beautiful beach was covered with sea grass.Food was OK,but lot of flays around the food area,sometimes even on the food.Evening program was very good,resort has very nice style with nice pool.Personal at the resort are really friendly.Rom where for 3 star resort OK. because for me is important the sea and who like to swim at the sea i do not recommend that resort,who like to swim at the pool I recommend that resort.

Brisas Sierra Mar: Most Scenic resort in Cuba

This was our 4th visit over 12 years to Brisas Sierra Mar, our favorite location for exposing the kids to a true Cuban experience. The resort has the most beautiful vistas of both the Caribean Ocean and the Sierra Maestra Mountains. The beach is excellent for long walks, snorkeling and it is surrounded by small farms. The included snorkeling trip is well worth participating in and is only a short boat ride so there is plenty of time to explore the reef. The resort is dated but they have made a l [... read more]ot of progress repairing and painting the effects of hurricane Sandy, the Ranchon, (beach Restaurant) is in excellent shape again, the elevator worked throughout our stay. The fountain and the jacusiw were also functional, they created a new snack bar next to the buffet for snacks throughout the afternoon and after the buffet closes in the evening. The staff and regular visitors are always friendly and make everyone feel welcome, some surprisingly even remembering our names. The food was as varied as could be with their limited resources, nicely spiced for Cuba, always a good selection of salad ingredients, bread/buns and fruit. They never ran out of Rum in the lobby but the odd time red wine was no longer available until the next day. The Cuban guests, mostly on weekends were always pleasant and respectful, better dressed than many Canadians but have to work on picking up their cups etc and disposing of them. Great value for your money and a well designed facility. Definitely will be back.

Brisas Los Galeones: Great stay

First time back in 8 years. Same friendly staff like coming home. Everything works, food was good with only a few shortages. Made some new friends as resort is small and so you get to know everyone. Great views in all directions.

Carisol los Corales: great servise of sell rep and great time in cuba

the whole transaction with sell rep was smooth and great- love it. as of resort itself, it was my 3d time going there. this time we had bungalow with great terrace on 2 floor. the terrace was about 300 sq feet large and we pool out the beds to sleep outside. beach was great, although inside of water you have to watch out for not to step on sea animal spikes. service great but the choice of cocktails could be better, food ok. but if you want you can go to the village next to resort to eat langost [... read more]as, if the group over 10 people you can negotiate about 15-12$ per person. it a shame its a bit far from santiago, i would go party there every day (as i did at bucanero, before it got destroyed). but the entertainment was still nice inside of resort. overall- i enjoyed it very much.

Brisas Los Galeones: tranquil and sunny - the people as well as the wea

We could see improvements from last year to today. The staff was very caring and understanding. I travelled with my sister who had a small accident just before we left for Cuba and required extra care. The 295 steps to the Ocean are arduous, but the beach is well worth the effort. Giant shade trees on the beach, wonderful protection against the sun, I have never seen that before. On the negative side, the last 107 steps could use a railing - at least on one side; and wifi access in the Lounge/Ba [... read more]r would be welcome! at Sierra Mar I could buy an access card for 2 CUC, but that resort is too busy, so I did go but twice - for the internet access. The rooms were cleaned and sanitized well every day, but the beds were old.

Carisol los Corales: Very nice resort

I love this resort. I have stayed @ Los Corales several times. The staff are very friendly, the food is good. I always have a great vacation when I go to Santiago. The snorkeling is amazing. There is always something to do like aqua fit, bingo, dance lessons etc.

Costa Morena: Amazing bartenders

Last year it was amazing at costa morena this year it was the same meal over and over the staff at the main desk were rude ignoring ppl for abit. I had a hard time changing money over to cubian peso I was not happy this year at all.

Carisol los Corales: Great Time

We had visited Corales in 2008 and we pleased with its condition and service when we returned in March 2016. Corales is in a remote location and our main interest, snorkelling, is mediocre. We managed to make it work, however. We rented a scooter and rode in and out of Santiago. We hiked the roads inland from the resort. We scuba dived. All excellent experiences. Carisol los Corales: three star resort in good location

We spent 2 weeks in the end of March in Club Amigo Carisol Los Corales. The Carisol part was closed due to the end of the season and we stayed in the Los Corales part. The good: - the weather was great; - the hotel is located in the Bucanao natural park and there are lots of places around to walk and visit; The bad: - when we arrived there was luck of dishes in the buffet, but later on they brought some; - people were complaining of missing towels and personal belongings left on the beach or in  [... read more]a room balcony. The beach was ok, not great. The food was so-so, but we always were able to find something for us, I would say it's acceptable except for a long lineups for the grill during the lunch and the dinner, omelets in the morning, fruits, etc, that are not supplied freely. The tap water is from the mountains and is drinkable and very tasty, we never had any stomach issues. The quality of the entertainment was not consistent. There were really great performers, like water ballet team, Angel the magician, but some other performances looked like an elementary school party.

Brisas Los Galeones: Back to simple pleasures!

Brisas Los Galeanos was a place of reconnecting with nature, each other, and the simple pleasures of life to the full. The sea, beach, meals, nightly music and beautiful vistas made this our best holiday ever. The staff of Los Galeanos catered mindfully to our every need.

Brisas Sierra Mar: Very Tired

They are doing the best they can with what they've got, but this resort is extremely tired and in need of an update. Food essentially the same every day and not great, but I was forewarned so didn't have big expectations. Individual restaurants a little better, as was the private restaurant Oceano back at the highway. The apparent need for constant raucous music by the pool area was unfortunate but one could go down to the beach for quiet tanning.

Costa Morena: Average Resort

Not too bad for the price. Doesn't have too many activities and no beach. Not all rooms are the same. Some have dressers and others don't. The same goes for a Fridge. It is however not a bad place to relax.

Costa Morena: Better than expected

Costa Morena 2016 March2-9. This is a two-star cheapest Cuban hotel. Situated in the middle of nowhere, an hour by bus from Santiago Airport. Flights where ok, on time, no long lines in airports, but young Sun Wing stewardesses behaved like prison guards. Room was OK: clean, nothing broken, suitable outlets. AC was noisy. Try not to get a room close to the disco, which is even noisier. Food was fresh, no tricky mixes, but choice was very pure. Bars were good enough to me. Nonstop. Local employee [... read more]s at the guest seats were presented just a little bit, far less than usual. Music was not that annoying. Pool looks fine, I never use it. Entertainment. I never use it also. But this time I can say almost for sure, there wasn’t any. Public was mostly retired Canadians, many from Quebec, very few locals. Beach structure is unique: a concrete slab: still water area 2-3 feet deep and about 500m long; a natural rocky barrier with blocks surf entirely; and finally the open sea. If you are confused with my English, look at the photos. Have some water shoes: the bottom is pebbles. Weather was warm, sunny, few rains, one short storm, and not too hot. Perfect! I like to swim in the open ocean. The place is fine for that. Surf is weak, water is clear, bottom is rocky with some corals. Go to right from the beach area.

Brisas Los Galeones: quiet and simple

wonderful staff, clean resort, not a luxury resort but very friendly people that gives the place a warm atmosphere. the rooms are basic but well maintained. the beach is hard to get to...lots of steps as the hotel is on a hill...great beach lunch though makes the trip down the steps worth while. very remote location...found a herd of goats outside our room a few mornings, you will wake to roosters crowing and goats bleating...not the place to go if you want action and night life. the one excursi [... read more]on to the mud bath was well worth the 15 cuc. food was good for cuba...we have been to cuba a number of times and the food here was very good, fresh and hot...not much variety but good quality...overall appositive experience!
