A/C leaking Paint peeling off on the inside of bathtub String for hanging wet bathing suits missing Toilet clogged and leaking Some rooms are missing art on walls Fridges get refilled with beer on some days but not daily Housekeeping takes the towels away at 9am, doesn't bring new ones until 2 hours or so later. Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: For the Money.......Great resort

We have been going to the Casa Marine for 6 years & over all are quite satisfied. Food iis good & we find the staff excellent. When booking this year we requested a bottom floor unit as we are seniors & are having a little difficulty managing the stairs. On arriving they had us placed in a different building then requested but also on the third floor. If requests from the agency's are ignored why waste time making them. Emotions by Hodelpa Puerto Plata: December vacation

This review is long due to some discrepancies and wanting to give an honest review. Check-in & Room: Arrived before 3pm check-in on a Sunday. They did not have our reservation (Tripcentral were advised and responded it had been confirmed). Gave us bracelets to grab a meal and returned at 3. They had the only room left in the hotel ready, not our top floor preference but 2nd floor, Superior with king bed. (We did not book upgraded rooms) The room looked great (swim-up rooms below) but a few t [... read more]hings weren’t working.. which were taken care of promptly by the Housekeeping Supervisor - fridge was replaced, 2 patio chairs were brought, hair dryer replaced. Shower hose was broken (could not shower), so after no replacement on day 1, we waited at reception until maintenance brought a new one - had to assist maintenance on using a washer and that was fixed. All was smooth from then on. Shower stall has a small lip that overflows onto the floor (needs caulking under glass too) - we heard another room in a different building had the same issue. Bed was comfy - pillows too firm for us (hubby used a towel). Not many storage drawers in the room, and bathroom vanity is just sufficient for 2 people’s personal travel bags. Bath amenities were in pumps & more than enough for our 2 weeks use. TV has minimal English channels (WB & sometimes HBO). Balcony is large - nothing to dry suits on except chairs. The morning we left, there’d been rain overnight and the toilet was gurgling so we’re not sure if there was going to be plumbing issues - the ceiling in bathroom was dripping on our backs at the sink. Room 16210. Meals: buffet is good with daily Dinner themes. On weekends, lots of domestic bookings and with it are crowds and mostly Dominican style breakfasts. Weekday breakfasts include bacon, smoked salmon/capers/cream cheese. All days include omelette station, pancakes, banana or papaya smoothie station. Lots of cereal, oatmeal, hot cocoa, fresh fruit. About 14 hot plates with variety of choices for all 3 meals. Small Lobster in paella or seafood stew one night/week. Beach restaurant: same menu daily: burgers, hotdogs, nachos & cheese, fried chicken pieces, small salad bar, fruits, buns, dessert. Coffee/tea service are in mini cups. A La carte: 2 per 7 night stay - book with bar code 3-4 days ahead, or at customer service 2 days ahead. Lolita’s Mexican was our fav & the only time we had avocados (recommend corn soup, shrimp tacos) - Amici Italian was very good. We didn’t get to Dominican resto. Wait staff everywhere were friendly and helpful. Some very professional. Entertainment & activities: gym looked great. Lots of daily activities.. more than we typically see at a resort - schedule wasn’t posted on a board.. changing to electronic bar code at reception - we obtained a schedule from customer service. We enjoyed mini golf, archery, cornhole games. They also have tennis, batting cage, various competitions like darts. Oh yes, pool foam party every week was fun to watch - and nice to see a safety barrier for young kiddies. Very active team organize water exercises, sports, bingo. Pools do not have a lifeguard so please watch your little ones as their pool is between 2 other pools. Beach: amazing deep, white sand beach - very well maintained. Lifeguards are at the beach and police patrol regularly on ATV. In 2 weeks we had 2 red flag days from high winds/surf and they made sure no one was swimming. The water has a strong current pull so little ones need to be supervised. Generally it’s a gradual walk into the water, but there can be holes with tides changing. Bars: 24 hr is by the pools and do not use glass (kudos as it’s next to pools). At the beach bar, buy a fresh coconut $4, or whole pineapple. Bartenders are great and keep the lines moving well. Cafe: we loved the cappuccinos and Frappuccinos - small desserts avail too. There’s a price list, but it’s included for all-inclusive guests. Only item we’d be charged for are $5 fresh fruit popsicles. Milwaukee sports bar - we didn’t bother, except for popcorn, but theres snacks and billiards, TVs. Nightly entertainment - we were in the room or sitting by ocean at night, so have no opinions on it. Beach party one night. Overall, it seems some rooms maintenance or an upgrade will be coming in future. We were very pleased to get everything fixed in the room easily, and preventing a room change, because who wants to spend precious vacay time doing that! We loved our stay and would return.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Okay resort

Resort felt very small and overcrowded. Rooms were outdated and uncomfortable, and the music/entertainment was boring and repetitive. Overall disappointing—would recommend choosing a better resort. Go somewhere else

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Amazing resort

Everything was great except not to much hot water lol in shower. Great beach great location close to everything walking in town was very safe. Food was amazing with all different types of food. I was there with 2 teenagers and they enjoyed themselves.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Resort was OK

Beach was very good, Grounds were nice also, Rooms could be better, Food was ok, not enough bars. yayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayyayayayayayayayayayayayayayayayyayayayayayayayayayyayayayayyayayayayayya

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: 2 star at best

This includes the Cofresi and Presidential suites. The issues were so numerous we need to warn people before coming even if the price is a steal. Property in bad repair. Cold water Showers that won't drain. Broken iron. Dirty cracked pools. Watered down bottom of the barrel alchohol drinks. The food was the worst part. Which was surprising based off the reviews. The buffet food was the equivalent to dog food. Mashed meats and fish in a soupy sour sauce that was served over and over. [... read more] No flavour. Zero seasoning. The basics were missing. Other guests and us commented how we had to stash bananas and crackers in our rooms just in case. The al a cartes were good but again issues; you can only book 3 total and the ones you want are always already fully booked. Was asked 50 times do I want to buy a massage, buy excursions, buy cigars but I couldn't even get a decent meal. We had to eat off the resort to get a decent dinner. The internet limit is one hour a day and you have to move around to connect. The entertainment is minimal. Resorts are a 2 star disguised as a 3.5/4. Wouldn't stay here again even if it was free. Wouldn't recommend. Wouldn't return ever. The staff very friendly, the staff were some of the nicest people I've met in my entire life. My complaints are with the poor management and resort owners who are skimping on the food and allowing the property to stay in bad repair.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Overall a great hotel

My wife and I were satisfied with our stay. Good hotel. Especially excellent food beach restaurants. We took the cheapest economical option of the room. Accordingly, the renovations were not the best But everything necessary for accommodation was. Thank tripcentral!!!!

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Nice resort

Resort is situated in a beautify area of Puerto Plata. Resort grounds are very clean, with noticeable daily maintenance. Found the buffet very small with limited selections although food quality was good. Most days we had to run around looking for utensils, Coffee cups, glasses and plates. Which was very tough full of connective tissues. My wife’s sirloin stake was way more tender and tasty. The beach is very nice and about a mile and a half long. Sand is fine to the waterline then it gets a little rougher with shell fragments. You don’t need a water shoe. Don’t walk on the reefs unless you want some painful experience.stepping on sea urchin. Basic rooms are dated but clean and well kept. A/C was not keeping up very much. Asked them to look into it twice, not sure if they did. We had several short power outages lasting 2-5 minutes each. Not a big deal. Overall the resort is nice and I would rate it a stretched 3.5. We would come back again if the price is right.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Excellent Resort

This was our 13th visit to this Iberostar resort. Almost everything was excellent as usual. Only negative this trip was the huge amount of seaweed that landed on the beach about 8-10” deep and about 10-15’ deep along about 1/2km of the beach directly in front of the resort. We simply swam in a clear area but it made walking challenging. As well we both were sick from tuna steak at the buffet. Room was excellent and the new wrist band key system is wonderful! No more demagnetized key cards to worry about!

Select Sosua Adults Only, Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Amazing Adults Only Getaway!

Beautiful resort. The resort was well cared for, the rooms were very comfortable and clean. The resort staff were kind, caring and worked very hard. The food overall was good. Loved the international restaurant and the buffet had lots of good options. The Italian restaurant was okay. We did not try the seafood or Mexican so cannot comment on those. The views from the resort were breathtaking and we loved that you could walk into town for shopping and restaurants if you wanted and it felt  [... read more]safe. Playabachata Hotel: It was okay

Your staff was amazing,your rooms are clean,my room was clean.Your food is terrible.You have no bacon,and cant eat your food cause you out to much salt in all your meat.I lost weight due to it.No chicken wings in all night bar,same food over and over.Again staff was great,pool way to small,your beach needs to be cleaned up.The swing was nice but the rocks in front of swing in ocean should be blocked off before someone gets killed I will not be returning.Your snanjs and other goods are way to exp [... read more]ensive.

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Not great this time

Hi, we went to Casa Marina from Dec 2 to Dec 10 this time and paid for a Deluxe Garden View room, normaly we are always on the first balcony, this time they told us no rooms on the first balcony so they put us completely on the top, we are 2 persons with back problems and had to climb on the last floor all the time, the shower was broken, the tv cable kept frozing all the time, they had to send the maintenance 5 times during our stay, and funny thing is we saw that yes they did had empty rooms o [... read more]n the first balcony! Our flight got canceled by West Jet the day of the departure, without us getting any emails or calls from the resort, took them 3 hours to solve the situation and our flight got delaided 2 more times after that, was not a great vacation this time, but the food was ok as usual and staff not too bad, but do not fly with West Jet!

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Very good resort

The service,food,activities and bars,workers were all great . Beach was disappointing due to seaweed witch is seasonal but can still swim in ocean at different entry points. The concierge service was excellent Lucy attended to all our needs and more. Rosa the yoga ,Pilates ,Zumba teacher was excellent. Tavares and Mer our regular waiters were excellent and very attentive to all our needs and more. The water system was excellent with no worries re water. Our our room cleaning service was great [... read more] and did a great job every day. Julian the barman at the beach was excellent ,efficient,smiling and attentive to all our requests. We did not attend the pool only the ocean,always chairs available.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Good value

Resort is very clean and easy to get around. Views are amazing.Staff are friendly. Buffet was good, although repetitive. Legends was great for early morning coffee and playing cards in the evening. Comfortable bed. The shower stall was too small. Pools were great.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Typical for what it is. Good food.

This was our second year at the marien puerta plata. The resort is clean. Room maid was extra good. At one point I had a little tummy stuff and she brought me extra pop and tp without any request. In general the food is good. Like any caribe resort cheese is blah. Decaf coffee is instant. Other stuff makes up for it. The servers at buffet and restaurants are great. One reason we returned is that the staff are cheerful. But. The metal trays on the buffet are not heated properly so t [... read more]hose choices are cold, which is disappointing. Someone suggested just give your plate to chef at the grill and hv them heat it - I am not that patient. The buffet has theme nites. Sat nite a whole roast pig. Sunday nite is gala, roast beef very good. Other things, like what they called steak, forget it, but lots of options. You would have to be pretty demanding to not fill your plate. Some things varied, for ex the person making fresh juice - one of them made much better blends than the other. We found the bathroom at the pool bar deteriorated when it was busy, usually weekends. Which is better than a swim up bar, hands down. We liked lunch at the beach snack bar better than the buffet and ate there most days. Overall a decent resort. I would recommend strongly if they fixed the food trays.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: very enjoyable resort

Nice clean beach and immaculate grounds. Lots of good food and great assortment. Our room was in a great location and very clean. Staff very accommodating and friendly. Not far to airport. Check in and out was very efficient and fast.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: This Resort was not a 5, but was great for the price. We had a wonderful time. Had some issues but where fixed with no issues.

This Hotel was in the process of Renovations, the room we had was so dark we only had 2 lights in the room & 1 plug that worked. No light in the middle of the beds so hard to see when getting up at night. The staff where amazing. All staff front deck, Cleaning staff & the guys that filled up your fridge. Yes we would go back.
