This resort is a little dated - not for someone who is looking for high end but that being said it was a most enjoyable stay. The resort is clean and staff friendly. Beautiful beach and rooms and view.

Fantasy Island: Fantasy Island was great-again!
This cozy, unique resort is a perfect place to relax and unwind. The friendly staff are quick to help out with any request or concern and always with a smile. The food is delicious-even though it was a small selection there was always enough choice and never walked away hungry. The room was spacious-one of the largest that we've ever had. Loved the wildlife that is always present and the views from every corner of the resort was breath taking. The scuba diving was amazing and Ria and her staff w[... read more]ere great! Loved our boat captain Kevin and DM Miguel.
This was our 2nd visit to Fantasy Island-our 1st as scuba divers. And after another great week, I suspect we will back in the not too distant future!

Henry Morgan Resort: Definitely not a 4 star
I'm not sure how Air Transat rates their hotels but they definitely need to re-think this one as a 4 star. It was a 2 star at best. They should warn you that you can't get food past 8pm or between 9am and 1130am. They should also tell you that the hotel treats towels like they are gold, you have to beg to get towels for the beach and rooms. The food was mediocre at best, I'm not sure what the chef does to the seafood but they really had the most unappealing way to display food i.e. on a mirror??[... read more]??. Come on! Lets be honest instead of selling this as what its not.

Henry Morgan Resort: Henry Morgan was awesome!!!!!
My hubby and I just came home from our second trip to Roatan. We stayed at the Henry Morgan this time and were so glad we did! Everything about the place is great!! Lots of food all day long. The beach grill at lunch cooks your enchiladas fresh for you while you watch and they are soooooo good!! Fantastic breakfast buffet with lots of bacon and omlette bar. Wonderful dinners cooked by Orlando who serves your pork loin up to you personally. The beach is lovely with tons of chairs. Lots of sun or [... read more]shade. Lots of security on the beach too. We always felt safe and well looked after. The entertainment staff are without compare the best of anywhere we have ever been. Soooo much energy and so happy and friendly....loved them all!! Our room had everything we needed. Lots of hot water and great water pressure. Comfy bed and quiet air conditioner. Balcony with hammocks. It was perfect. It was our anniversary so we went off the resort for dinner to Beachers which is a quick walk up the beach and has the best shrimp cocktail and sea bass on the planet! They have a band on Sat. nights and it is a great party. Look for Lindy at Beachers. You can't miss him and he'll look after you. The very best part of course is the reef. Walk in the water, swim a bit and there it is. A whole other world right below you. Nothing compares to the things you see in the water. We will absolutely return to the Henry Morgan on Roatan and highly recommend it!!

INFINITY BAY -ROATAN
SUNWING All Inclusive Vacation November 17 - December 1st, 2014
FLIGHT - basic, early morning flight. The staff was pleasant. The flight is about 4 hours and the island is one hour behind us in time.
Roatan Airport - stairs from plane to tarmac. Expect to be fingerprinted to enter the county. Sunwing rep waiting for guests and providing directions to appropriate shuttle bus.
Transfer to Infinity Bay - Approximate 25-30 minute ride with commentary from driver and assistant. Y[... read more]our luggage will be placed on a separate vehicle for transportation to the hotel' which arrived very soon after our arrival.
Hotel - Staff welcomed us to the hotel with a refreshing drink of rum punch. Check in was seamless and quick. Bellhop carried our luggage to our second storey one bedroom condo. Room 1704.
Gardeners - you can find grounds keeping staff working hard every day to maintain the beauty of the resort.
Accommodations are excellent -private condo with fully equipped kitchen (great for storing left overs from the a la carte restaurant, or keeping milk cold for morning coffee made in the coffee maker provided. The King size bed was very firm and at the end of our two week stay, my back was longing for the comforts of "my" firm mattress that it’s accustomed to. No tub, only a shower in the washroom. One television located in the bedroom. WIFI worked well throughout the condo, even on the balcony. Our balcony faced the garden. Three buildings down, were the same units, facing the pool for additional $$. From our balcony at 6am, you could hear the workers on the patio of the dining room, preparing for breakfast...singing can be heard if Alex, Rey or Marlon were working. There is no line to dry wet clothing, so I strung a makeshift line on the balcony for our wet bathing suits to dry. The air conditioning works very well and often I found myself turning it up as the 82 degrees outdoors was so hot, it felt very cold to come inside to a 72 degree room. The kitchen was fully equipped, however paper towels are the only means for drying your dishes (no sense using a dishwasher for a couple of beverage glasses and coffee cups). There is NO Kleenex at this resort - I'm not sure if it's available on the island, but i did not see any during our stay. Toilet tissue is provided in abundance.
Housekeeping - Great service. Daily maid service. Bed linens changed as needed. Only a sheet and bedspread are on the bed, so if you require additional linens, you need to request. Blankets are provided upon request, but also taken away and not replaced with bed linen changes. Angeline was very accommodating and made every effort to accommodate our requests.
Dining - If you are with Sunwing All Inclusive, you will be provided with two tickets to the La Palapa a la carte restautant (per week). This restaurant is close to the beach, in the sand. The full menu is not offered to Sunwing guests (you can order from the menu but you will be charged for the upgrade ie lobster, steak, etc. The a la carte is only available for dinner. All meals are served at the International Buffet. In my opinion, the food at the buffet excels the food served at the ala carte. Nikki, the food and beverage manager will do her best to accommodate your requests. The staff is pleasant and willing to make your dining experience a positive one. Darlon, Alex, Claudia and Marlon are sweethearts at the buffet restaurant. Swiss (Flo) is a sweetheart at the LaPalapa. All servers are very eager to please.
Drinks - if you are with the Sunwing AI, then again, you are not entitled to all drinks offered. Wine is only served during diner hours. Pina colodas are very good, and not an upgrade. The Monkey Lala is one of the best on the island, but unfortunately is an upgrade, but worth trying ($9)! I'm sure with the AI package you can find something that you will find is suitable and delicious. The staff at the LaPalapa Bar is great - Elda and Ziggy were regulars there. Ziggy makes great Pina Coladas! Swiss, a server at the a la carte and beach bar is a sweetheart!
Beach - the beach is small, but lovely. Warning - the resort rents out its beach chairs to Cruise Ship guests, so if you enjoy the beach, be there early to claim your spot before the ship guests are dropped off at the beach. On cruise ship days, it becomes very busy on the beach., Vendors are out in abundance selling shells, t-shirts, jewelry, sunglasses, tours, parasailing, and the famous banana donuts! If you prefer not to continuously say "no thanks" to the vendors, then choose a beach chair close to the resort, close to the security guards. Most vendors will accept no thank you graciously.
Snorkeling - absolutely beautiful! You can swim out directly from the resort and see beautiful coral, parrotfish, squid, and so much more....stunning! The reef goes all along the island, so anywhere you go is great but right in front and just to the left of the resort is wonderful!
Sand flies/Sand fleas- this was the worst part of the vacation. I chose to use Muskol with DEET, my husband chose not to. I was only bitten a few times. My husband is a polka dotted mess. This is the most annoying part of Roatan as a visitor.
SPA - There is no spa, so don't look for it. There is a RMT located on the beach. Her name is Shirley is comes highly recommended. $40USD / 1 hour. The spa is a future project and will be located above the buffet restaurant overlooking the beautiful resort.
Staff at Infinity Bay - All staff are very warm and welcoming. If you require anything, you just need to ask and they will try and make your request possible. The labour laws of Roatan are very different than that of Ontario. Staff works long days, many days in a row and work hard.
I would highly recommend Infinity Bay Resort and Spa for a vacation, but perhaps choose to vacation between March and September (avoid rainy season).

Media Luna Resort: the resort was clean
The grounds and the rooms were nice. The hotel was to far away from everything, and the charge for a taxi was large, because of the distance. We felt very isolated. The beach should be kept raked to keep the sand flees down, got eaten alive by them. The food was just terrible. It was cold and no great selection. Overall we did not enjoy our stay there, would not go back.

Media Luna Resort: Had a great time
This was our first trip to Honduras and Won't be our last. Once we got past the check in which was a bit slow. Everything was fine our room was comfortable the A/C was cold the room was clean and had a nice deck with a hammock. The grounds aren't kept pristine but for us it had a rustic appeal. There is only one resteraunt and one bar. The food and drinks were Ok. There is also no A/C in the resteraunt but there is a nice breeze. Now the Ocean and snorkelling was excellent, lots to explore right[... read more] from shore, The sheltered bay was great even on windy days. We did use the scuba center it was fine. We did a snorkelling trip to a remote island organized through the hotel...excellent and an amazing steak and lobster lunch was included. People tend to congregate around the lobby as that is where the wi fi is. Overall we met some really nice people we felt safe on the island even when we werent on the resort, and would recomend this as nice place to stay. Just remember it's not a five star.

Mayan Princess Beach Resort: Great repeat visit
On our third trip to Roatan in late March we thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Mayan Princess for a second time. Being vegetarian and having read some less-than-positive comments about the cuisine, we spoke with management before booking. It appeared that Magenta, the Chef, had been off due to a foot injury and some difficulties had been experienced earlier in the season as a result. At the buffet, Suyapa and Byron went out of their way to let us know the ingredients of the many choices at each [... read more]buffet meal and we had no difficulty finding many tasty things to enjoy. They would recommend soups when they were vegetarian -- and they were delicious! When we missed the pineapple we had enjoyed on our last visit, we were offered a big bowl and then found it on the buffet most mornings thereafter. We left eating at the Luna Maya until late in our stay because there was no vegetarian meal on the menu -- what a mistake! The special meal served by Lany was delicious and beautifully presented.
Staff worked very hard to minimize the impact of cruise-ship passengers, setting up separate buffets and separate beach areas for them. Happily, they were generally gone by lunch time.
Dinner several nights each week was served outside of the main restaurant -- Asian night at poolside, burger night at Las Sirenas and dinner on the beach a third night. It was a great deal of work for the staff to set up, but added variety in a most pleasant way. Both Byron and Geraldo did a fabulous job cooking on Asian nights as well as at the omelette station in the morning and serving up specialties at lunch as well.
It was great to see deserving staff promoted -- Glenda now doing an effective job ensuring prompt service at meals and in the bar, and Carolina on the housekeeping side of things. Also impressive was the improvement in the English spoken by the staff -- kudos to both management and staff on that front! We enjoyed learning Spanish from the staff -- they were very patient with us! Particularly notable service was provided in the dining room by Arnol and Samuel, though all the staff were very attentive. Edwin on the front desk was always helpful as well. We appreciated not being subject to "sales pitches" about excursions, but information was readily available when requested -- both from the front desk and from the Sunwing representative, Claudio. Comparing to previous Sunwing reps, Claudio was very visible at the resort on a regular basis, eager to ensure our satisfaction with the service we received. He didn't get any work from us -- we were more than happy with everything about our stay! Yes, the power did go out from time to time, but that was a function of the island power supply and the hotel's generator was brought on stream quite quickly when it occurred.
There were other improvements since our last visit in 2012 -- we found the vendors much less aggressive on the beach and the fact that they needed to wear identifying T-shirts as "authorized vendors" likely explains that to some degree. Also, the thump of music was much less intrusive than previously -- much appreciated! For those who prefer more activity, the Henry Morgan next door (where we stayed on our first trip to Roatan) offered almost constant beach volleyball, salsa dancing, etc.
The purpose of our repeated trips to Roatan is to snorkel "the wall" a ten minute walk down the beautiful sandy beach. It is the best snorkeling we have encountered, although the traffic from cruise-ship passengers is degrading the marine park more each year. This year, we were pleased to see the marine park boat on duty more than previously.
A comment to travelers considering Infinity Bay: being right next door to the destination of a majority of the cruise-ship passengers means the brunt of the activity and noise (that thumping rhythm!) is right outside the resort... Infinity Bay also has the dock which water taxis to the West End frequent: convenient, but more traffic as a result. The apartments, however, are beautiful. Nonetheless, we intend to return to the Mayan Princess on our next trip to Roatan.

Fantasy Island: Best dive experience
Small, with a great beach and reef! Ideal for the experienced diver or for the begginer. Wonderful dive staff with experience and certification on site. Not frilly or full of extravagance just agreat place to kick back and enjoy! Most of the people I talked to there had the same thought " like going to the cottage, just lots more to see and do!"

Paradise Oceanic Hotel: Nice resort.....shouldn't be all inclusive.
Hotel room was bright and clean. Beautiful grounds at sister hotel. The beach was the best on the whole strip. The staff are pleasant and helpful.
Brochure states there are four restaurants but there's only one plus the buffet. Breakfast is fine;same thing every day plus you need to be there early before they run out of food. Suggest you eat out for lunch and dinner! Difficult to get an early morning cup of coffee. The wine served was undrinkable!!!
When the cruise ships are in it's very difficu[... read more]lt to get any thing to drink or eat at the beach bar....the folks from the cruise ships get preferential treatment.
It was supposed to be adults only but there were quite a few children there.
The elevator has been out of service for a long time...It's worth the walk up to the fifth floor to watch the sunsets and perhaps swim in the roof top pool. The roof top bar was only open one afternoon out of seven days.
The beach is really close by with excellent snorkeling
Suggest you bring lots of American dollar bills for tipping as it's difficult to get any once you are in Roatin.

Media Luna Resort: Very nice hotel but a little to far from West Bay
I was there in spring 2013 with my husband. The food , the room and the hotel were amazing. The only downside is that it is far from downtown and the beach is too small. It was very clean. We took the shuttle to West Bay and we had a great time there. We went back this year but stayed at West Bay. Although the hotel is nice we found it too far and too quiet.

Henry Morgan Resort: Great place for a family vacation
Rooms were great. Lovely view from our balcony. Nice and clean. The entertainment staff, food service staff and maids were wonderful. The front desk people were simply horrible - a bunch of useless grumps. This was a fun resort the way it was all adjoined by a raised boardwalk. Central to everything. We went on the zip line tour of gumbalimba park. The zip line guys were a hoot!! And the park tour guide was lovely. We have macaws ans monkeys all over us!! What fun!! We also took a private snorke[... read more]ling tour in a little boat by the "yard man". It was the highlight!! The yard man knows his way around - we saw some pretty incredible stuff. It was just my family of 4 and another couple. Way beer than a big boat tour. All in all, we had an awesome time. Oh, and some of the best snorkeling was a short walk from the hotel beach. Convenient with kids!

We went back for stay #2, it didn't disappoint. Hotel is wonderful, I love the layout and the staff were much friendlier this time around. Rick, the GM of the hotel, is very 'hands on' to ensure your stay is great. Snorkeling is fantastic! Infinity Bay Spa and Beach Resort: Paradise Found.
Visited Infinity Bay in March 2014. Overall, the resort met and/or exceeded our expectations. What makes this resort truly special are the staff that work and run this facility. Food-good variety, bed-comfy. Grounds-beautiful. This island, the locals are unforgettable. We will be back!
