El Cid Resort Castilla: Amazing Staff, Amazing Resort, Amazing Rooms, Amazing beach.

The Hotel was very clean, the pools were clean and amazing,3 pool areas. The beach was clean and nice white sand, the water was clean and warm and nice to play in. The staff was very polite and friendly. The a la carte restaurants were very good. Great location. Rooms were clean, showers were very powerful and nice. Overall a A++

El Cid Resort Castilla: Good Quality AI Resort in Mazatlan

Labelled as a 5-star resort, I can only conclude they come to this rating when compared to OTHER resorts in the area. When put up against high end resorts in other Mexican destinations, my opinion is that this resort is, at most, 3 to 4 stars. Regardless, The El Cid Castilla is a very comfortable stay, and the amenities are quality and the employees are top-notch! I was visiting on a standard all-inclusive package. This resort offers several levels of all-inclusive, some higher and some lower.  [... read more]My package was in the mid-range. Lots of restaurant options. I preferred the Mexican and Italian restaurants best. During the day, there are lots of beverage facilities. But by 6pm, the only bar left open is in the lobby. It's large and has a dance floor, lots of TVs and nightly music. I spent most days on the beach, under a palapa. The beach was combed nightly and the sand was clean. The downside of lounging on the beach is that I had to get up at 6am each morning to "reserve" a sunbed, using a t-shirt and a towel clip. If I didn't, then I would not find a seat anywhere outside until close to sundown. Even though there are signs everywhere stating that reserving seats is prohibited, everyone does it. The bar staff were very attentive to the beach crowd and readily available to keep the guests "watered". The guest room was standard, with popcorn walls and very solid mattresses. But the A/C worked REALLY well, as did the very spacious shower. Good water pressure and no lack of hot water, when needed. Housekeeping forgot hand towels and face cloths a couple of times (no big deal). The bottled water and coffee packets supplied in the room had to be paid for if used. I always brought up the complimentary bottled water from the bar each day. And coffee is available in the breakfast rooms, so I didn't need it in the room anyway. Room service was an extra charge as well. The concierge staff in the lobby were very friendly, assisting me in making dinner reservations and giving me tips for my week long visit. Francisco and Polina were especially helpful. They had answers for all my questions. I had issues with a taxi driver one night when I decided to go into town, so be absolutely sure what the price is before getting in - and if you think about making any changes to the originally planned route, be sure to check the price again first. Don't let the driver bully you. If you're at a restaurant or hotel, go get a manager to help. Everyone seems to know what the taxi drivers are about. The El Cid resort is close to outside restaurants, bars, and shops, if you feel like getting out. And the neighbourhood is very friendly and comfortable to walk around. I had an excellent time in Mazatlan and would love to come back again!

Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay: Stunning Resort

My recent stay at Emerald Bay was a sunshine paradise! The grounds are breathtaking full of lush gardens and waterfalls. The places to eat on the resort are limited as you only have 2 options. We ate at the buffet mostly which was good, not amazing though. They lack in theme nights and there is next to no nightlife or entertainment. It tends to be a resort for an older crowd.

Riu Emerald Bay: AMAZING STAFF

The most exciting part of The Emerald Riu was its staff! From check in to exit everyone included was amazing and more than accomadating! Checkin took two minutes ! Needs were met in a flash ! Call the front desk( low on soap , plumbing issue ) someone was there in minutes ! Grounds were spotless / rooms always spotless / towel service easy! Food was average / nothing spectacular ! As far as The Mexican Restaurant it was the saddest!Nothing about it was Mexican / the guacamole was watery / crackers were dried out! El Cid Resort Castilla: Perfect Vacation

First trip to Mexico. El Cid Castilla was a perfect 10! Service was friendly and very accommodating, right from the front desk to maid service, to waiters and buss boys and pool side waiters. Rooms were spotless, spacious and very clean. Beds were comfortable and cozy with fresh linens and extra pillows. Food was amazing and so delicious. This hotel is perfect for families we really enjoyed our stay The staff are very nice and helpful a lot of them don't speak very good English but you can find someone who does if you ask around The staff work hard at keeping the place clean and entertaining the guests The beach is awesome even though the ocean is a bit rough you can still enjoy boogie boarding If you ask for a memory foam for your bed they will bring it and it makes a big difference The food is Ok I really enjoyed the br [... read more]eakfast food the most just like any all-inclusive the buffet is pretty much the same every day but I always managed to find something I liked Typical sweet drinks and draft beer as any other resort We really like having a mini fridge that was stocked almost daily we had a nice king sized bed and a beautiful view of the ocean I was happy with everything overall I want to thank Karol at trip central for all his help

the hotel and staff are beyond your expentations.good food and service .front desk is a little shaky some times like a run around for a late check out .the sad pat is not the hotel its the flight times.sunwing does not deserve to be able to do rius they treat everyone like crap if you have been to this resort you know about Mexican tourist cards you have to fill them out in that little area before customs what a joke .love this place but the airline sucks.

Riu Emerald Bay: Very clean!!

For the most part this resort was good. The cleanliness was exceptional! The pool areas were kept clean and there was always someone cleaning the public restrooms. We were a little disappointed with the restaurants as all were buffet, we were hoping for table service at the reservation ones. Breakfast was the best part of the day. El Cid Granada: Great resort!

El Cid Granada was very good. The staff were very friendly and very helpful, Ana and Julian at the El Patio were very friendly and their service was outstanding. Our room was very clean and comfortable.

El Cid Resort Castilla: Great resort

We were very happy with this resort. No complaints. Food was good. Rooms were good. Only complaint was that the balcony railings were very low. I would have been nervous to be there with little kids. Ask for a main floor room if u have small children.

Costa De Oro: Friendly but just average

The hotel is in a great central location but is starting to look tired. Dishes in kitchenettes, pillows, bathrooms could all use updating. TVs are ancient but this was a minor concern for us. Rooms are not very sound proofed and given that there is a bar across the street can be very noisy. Staff is very friendly and helpful and did accomodate several room changes for us to try to alleviate noise concerns. Tower closest to ocean has lovely views but noise definitely carries from Gus Gus bar  [... read more](great food though). The older tower backing onto the street seemed quieter despite the traffic noise. Music is constantly playing too loudly around the pool, but this is Mexico! The beach is beautiful and great for walking for miles. There is no shortage of great restaurants within an easy walk ie, Panchos, Lucky B's, great coffee shop across the street (Rico's).

Beautiful beaches, very clean, excellent customer service. Mario the waiter and poncho the bartender are the best. The rooms were amazing. Double sink bathrooms. The seafood was delicious. Buffet food and service was excellent. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone :)

This was our second time traveling there. We loved everything about this resort except we were not that happy with the food and buffet! Compare to other resorts that we've gone to, this big resort does not have enough eating area. I talked to several other people while there and everyone was saying the food quality has gone down since 3 years ago. Riu Emerald Bay: Nice resort but food isn't great

This is a nice resort in Mazatlan and we enjoyed our time there. The food was below the quality I would have expected. Towards the end of our stay, the only thing I would get on my plate is fries with ketchup. I'm not a picky eater at all but I found most everything to be either bland or too salty/sweet. Meat and seafood was overcooked beyond recognition. Worst of all, there was NO Mexican food at this resort. I found that ridiculous. I love Mexican food but I could not get a simple taco there.  [... read more]They have a so-called Mexican restaurant at the hotel, which server some bizarre concoction of Spanish/Western that I think any Mexican would laugh at. The cocktails were very good and the servers did try to make the best they could with the things they had. Overall the service was quite good with a few exception, especially with the reception staff, some of whom tend to be rude and dismissive if you complain about something, such as the premium paid internet not working properly. The beach was nice and very sandy, not rocky at all. That's a plus. Overall the resort was ok, but I would not recommend it to friends and family. Normally, when I come back from vacation, I feel nostalgic about the food I had access to. This time, I could not wait to get back to Canada and eat something that had some taste. Some of the people in our group had been to this hotel 2 years ago and confirmed that the food quality has gone down.

Such an amazing vacation. The hotel was clean. the service was amazing. the staff was amazing. the hotel isn't to big so you don't need to walk far for anything! good drinks! will definitely be going back

The hotel was a bit dated but very well maintained and very clean. The grounds were well manicured and beach was great. All the staff very friendly and helpful. The restaurants were closed a few nights and weren't true a'lacarte (still buffet style) The main buffet and Italian buffet were excellent!! Great variety! Would definitely rebook and recommend.

El Cid Resort Castilla: Fabulous Friendly Resort

The hotel was well positioned clean airy from the front desk to the rooms and everything in between. The pools were well equipped with plenty of towels and chairs. The bar service was excellent both at the pools and restaurants and bars.The A La Carte restaurants were very relaxing with excellent food and a very elegant feel to them. The beds were clean and comfortable with the rooms spacious and comfortable.The location was excellent on the beach with bus service right out the front door to the downtown and central market .It was a short walk to the rest of the Zone whether you went north or south there was plenty of shopping bank machines and convenience stores all reasonably priced. The only two things that could have been better were the fact that men had to wear sleeved shirts at the indoor buffet. I understand this is a health rule but it should have been advertised better than a small sign at the entrance. On our third day the outdoor buffet which was the lunch buffet was closed for cleaning so we had to go from the pool to the inside buffet where the men were told they needed sleeves on their shirts which required them to go back up to their rooms to get a different shirt. The other was internet access. It was $10.00 US dollars for 24 hours access which I have no problem with. BUT unlike other places it is 24 CONTINUIOUS hours . Other places is 24 hours that you use over a period of time like 7 days.OVERALL I would rate it 10 of 10.

the staff,food and grounds all excellent,the rooms were ok,clean but starting to show their age the only thing I did not like about this location was the lagoon right next to the resort,it was disgusting full of garbage and smelled bad,it needs to be cleaned up ASAP

Excellent and very polite staff. Great food with lots of variety to choose from. Well maintained and great place to relax. Variety of tours is an icing on the cake. Airport reception crew is excellent. Will do it again!
