this hotel has lots of potential but fails to deliver! the pool chairs are hard plastic, you have to buy a floaty to sit on them. the pillows and lumpy and hard. there are no side tables by the pool so you have to put your drink on the ground and hope the ants don't get in. The food is bland and always the same. Ice cream is available in only one spot for only 2 hours a day. The sinks are clogged, the shower leaks and the water is NOT potable. Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Very good resort.

This was a first experience at an all-inclusive and it was a great experience. The amenities were well maintained. The hospitality and enthusiasm of the staff were superb. There were scheduled activities available for all age groups. Certainly I would be a repeat customer.

Samba Vallarta: nice smaller hotel

The rooms are dated (plumbing) however the beds are comfortable and great pillows!! The lobby isnt that great if you have family/group of friends no ambiance and uncomfortable sofa/chairs no where to play cards. The pool is good. The beach is great but beach chairs are old and uncomfortable. But they have nice beds near pool area facing ocean. the food is just okay... you wont starve but lacks in salad bar area..but I understand they are currently doing renovations. friendly staff and  [... read more]clean surroundings

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Great Resort, noticeable improvements this year over last year.

The hotel was Great, clean, service was exceptional in all areas, our maids were excellent! They really have to work on assess-ability to the specialty restaurants! I like sitting around the activity pool, but some time a little to loud!

Melia Puerto Vallarta: Wonderful Service

Service was amazing, food was wonderful, room and grounds were always clean. Thanks Manuela at tripcentral for her care and attention to all the details in our booking. We really appreciated it and will use her for all our travel services.

Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta: Needs some TLC

First, the good things… the food was quite good , especially in The Grill a la carte restaurant. The staff were amazing - helpful and lovely. Now for the not so good. The rooms were in rough shape. We could only use the wand in the shower (which had broken off the wall), doors fell off their hinges when we opened them and the room was just generally in rough shape. The internet was almost nonexistent which made it difficult to make a reservation at the restaurants as it had to be done onlin [... read more]e. Everyday there were people lined up at the concierge desk trying to make restaurant reservations. They need to make a lot of improvements at this resort. I would not recommend it nor would I go back.

Canto Del Sol: Resort is old but clean

This resort is old but fairly clean if your looking to go somewhere to be pampered and are used to 4 star or better don’t go there the resort buffet is very poorly set up but you can find things to eat if your patient and early for dinner or lunch the staff were very good but they are under staffed for the amount of people that are there the el le carts were okay but not very consistent with the quality of food except the Italian which was good both times surf and turf was amazing first time but [... read more] disappointing the next two times we prob won’t visit this place again but the location is great if you wanna explore puerto Vallarta

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Older but nice resort

This is an older resort. The grounds were well kept, clean and constantly maintained. The rooms are okay but in some locations the birds make a mess on the balconies. The rooms were spacious, well cleaned and comfortable. The dining was good. The food is more traditional Mexican which was a nice change. I have dietary issues but there were always options. The staff were accommodating, friendly, and always willing to help. It should be noted that you can use the facilities and the bar at the two sister resorts on this beach. We enjoyed walking the beach and being able to stop for a rest and refreshment on the other end of the beach. It should be noted that this is a Mexican resort, with mainly Mexican clients, a Mexican atmosphere and Mexican is the language most spoken. Many of the staff were bilingual (Spanish/English) and the clients were more than helpful. This is a small town where people are polite and courteous in the streets. This is not Puerto Vallarta or anything like it. We hope to go again soon.

Costa Sur Resort and Spa: Costa Sur Resort & Spa – 4.75/5

We stayed at Costa Sur Resort & Spa for 10 nights at the end of February 2025 and had a fantastic experience. The resort is located about 20-30 minutes south of the airport, depending on traffic. Check-In & Room: Check-in was smooth and quick, and we were pleased with our well-appointed 10th-floor room. The king-size bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows, and there was ample storage between the dresser, nightstands, and two closets (which included hangers, an iron and ironing board, and [... read more] a safe). The living space had a sofa, coffee table, and a kitchen table with chairs. The kitchen was well-equipped with a mid-sized fridge that kept our drinks ice cold, a two-burner gas stove, pots, pans, and dishes for four. The bathroom had a large shower enclosure, a hairdryer, ample towels, and provided toiletries. Our balcony, while small and unfurnished, offered incredible views, making it a perfect spot for whale watching and even spotting massive stingrays. We brought our chairs outside in the evenings to enjoy the sunsets. The sound of the waves was a soothing white noise at night, though depending on the tide, it could get quite loud—but closing the sliding door helped. Resort & Amenities: The property had two pools, with the larger one always very warm. The activities staff, Jose and Henry, did a great job engaging guests in water aerobics, bingo, ping pong, darts, water volleyball, and even bartender lessons. Poolside food and drink service was available, which was a nice touch. Dining & Service: Our booking included free breakfast, which consisted of juice, coffee, a fruit plate, two eggs (any style), a choice of meat, refried beans, and Mexican breakfast potatoes. Chilaquiles or hotcakes were also options. The food was good, but the service was hit or miss—not due to the friendliness of the staff (who were great) but likely because their ordering system could use an update for better organization. Overall Experience: It was nice to stay at a resort that wasn’t part of a giant chain—it had a more personal and relaxed feel. The guest mix was mostly people in their 50s and 60s, including many retirees from Canada and colder parts of the U.S. We really enjoyed our stay and will be booking again for 2026 for sure. Highly recommend!

Tropicana Hotel: Great Location and Great Value

The Tropicana Hotel in Puerto Vallarta is great value for your money. The hotel is very clean and the service was very good. They are continuously making improvements for example, this year a new beach grill. Last year, they installed wifi in all of the rooms. The breakfast plan options are limited, simple but adequate. It is worth the convenience and cost not to have to go out for breakfast. The security, gardners, reception staff, bellhops, pool cleaners, towel lady, cleaners and waiters [... read more] all work extremely hard to provide an exceptional experience. One suggestion would be to upgrade the lounges at the pool and to provide additional plugs in the rooms. At times, the wait staff were short staffed on the beach, but they did their best to keep up with the demands. The location is perfect for exploring the Romantic Zone and there are restaurants and stores just steps away. It is easy to walk many places from the Tropicana Hotel.

Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta: Amazing resort!!!

We were a party of four and just returned from a 7 day stay at the Hacienda side of the resort. We are very pleased with our stay and the resort exceeded our expectations based on some of the negative reviews. Our favourite breakfast was on the hacienda side Buffett where we received amazing service and delicious breakfasts. Our favourite a la carts was the French restaurant. Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Getting Better

Food and Internet have improved. Fridges in every room now. Booking restaurants still brutal. We were there for 8 nights in Feb. 2025. There were several toilet seats missing from the common bathrooms and not one was replaced in the 8 nights we were there. One would think if an employee removed it because it was broken then they would know to replace them. Takes about 2 minutes and a $19.95 toilet seat to do it.

Riu Flamingos: Very nice resort

The resort was very nice and spotlessly clean and the staff was lovely and friendly. However, It was a lot busier than resorts we have been to before and very crowded. A lot of families and kids, so very active and noisy. People were doing that annoying thing of putting towels on chairs early in the morning and then not using them. We saw a lot of people putting towels at the pool and at the beach and going between both. The beach is beautiful and easy to walk on. We did enjoy our stay there, but, would probably go somewhere quieter next time.

Grand Marival Emotions Resort and Suites: Basically a good resort.

The grounds / pool are beautiful Rooms are decent however we were given a lousy location at the back looking over the garbage dump. We had requested 3 times to have rooms close to our family who were travelling with small kids in order to help. They did not try in any way to help with those requests. Their a la carte restaurant Booking system is atrocious. You stand in line at 6:45. Wait till they open and hopefully get a Rez Timeshare people always get priority. Melia Puerto Vallarta: Very Good Resort

Cleanliness around the whole resort was outstanding. Rooms could do with some upgrading but were clean. Buffet was great. We wished there were more selections for a la carte restaurants or have some American type choices on the menu that you didn’t have to pay extra for. Staff was amazing especially the bar tenders and waiters (Edgardo) (Diana)who worked tirelessly to keep up to the busyness. Entertainment was okay but not great. Singers in the lounge were amazing . Melia Puerto Vallarta: Moldy start

We were assigned a room on the less than desirable first floor that reeked of mold. The patio door lock was shaky, no bathtub and the beds were hard. The “view” was a patch of grass. After a very uncomfortable night we requested a new room and Hector, Melia’s magnificent desk manager took great care of us, moving us to a higher room with king bed and partial ocean view. Marival Emotions Resort and Suites Riviera Nayarit: Great place for families with little kids

Marival Emotions was ideal for families with young children. The food was plentiful and high quality with a lot of options. Very kid friendly! The ease of getting to the pools and beach was a highlight, the proximity to our room made outings stress free. Everything felt down to earth and we appreciated the easy breezy vibe. The service was excellent and the staff was friendly. The entertainment was plentiful and it was great to include our children in every aspect. The restaurant reservation sys [... read more]tem was a nightmare, the only way to get one was to wait in line for hours. Definitely an outdated system that we decided to avoid. Luckily we were very happy with the buffet options. Lots of variety and great quality!

Dreams Bahia Mita Surf and Spa: Wouldn’t stay again

The staff was lovely, the food was great, the actual resort was not for me. The pools were small and random and most on the Dreams side didn’t have a view of the ocean so you could have been anywhere. Our room view was construction-not the resorts fault obviously. Beach was rocky and had great surf- not so great for swimming. Because of the odd design, there was so much walking (14,000 steps per day) to get to the pool, restaurants and our room). Marival Emotions Resort and Suites Riviera Nayarit: Absolutely amazing and well worth the stay

From the location to our room, buffet and accommodations for adults and children, this resort has it all. This resort is well planned and laid out, especially the distance to the ocean or if you prefer just to sit at the pool everything is very accommodating. The performances and talent of the nightly shows in the theatre were the best that we’ve ever seen. My grandkids loved the variety. The only thing that I think we were not very happy with was the arrangements to try to get a dinner at on [... read more]e of the specialty restaurants. I was probably waiting for almost 2 hours in lineup to get into the Italian restaurant… When I finally got up to book it, it was sold out. The resort must have a better plan in place to book these restaurants… Perhaps at check-in time we could book something rather than get up at 6 AM to go wait for the 8 AM opening to reserve these spots. Aside from that this resort is amazing and I would definitely go back… The staff was also very friendly and helpful.

Plaza Pelicanos Club: Plaza pelicanos club

The staff were wonderful - very helpful and pleasant. The buffet adequate with many choices. The rooms were clean. We requested a room change because of the distance to the lobby and pools. This was facilitated quickly and pleasantly. Unfortunately, our room had a musty smell and we had no hot water to shower with the whole time we were there.
